Serena was just finishing settling in her cabin when she heard a very interesting song blasting through the campgrounds. It was nothing like she had ever heard before. Looking outside, Serena noticed that the sound was coming from a colorful truck of sorts. She walked over to it, curious as to what it was for. Her question was answered when she saw her Head of House handing out food. This truck must be for the annual summer camp barbeque.

She got into the line that began forming, wanting to get some dinner. Then, finally, it was her turn to order.

“I’ll take a cheeseburger, please,” Serena politely ordered.

Once she was handed her food, Serena said thank you and sat down at one of the tables. She briefly took off the top bun, took a nearby ketchup bottle, and squirted it onto her cheeseburger before placing the bun back on top. She also put some crisps onto her plate and grabbed a bottle of water. Taking a bite of her burger, Serena smiled. It tasted delicious! She would have to find out who was behind the grilling and thank them. So far, this year’s summer camp had started out great! Hopefully, nothing would happen to change that.

The world is filled with nice people. If you can't find one, be one.

Clearly, Elena wasn't about to get the long-lived answer of where they had found this curious little contraption from. She almost had to resist the tempatation to snort at the excuse given amusing as it was. Sure, they could cook up a mean meal as evidenced by today's antics but the brunette thought that maybe professional entertainer was pushing it a little bit if anything. "What's there to hide?" She'd pose the question out of jest chewing on the barbequed snack clasped within her hands as the truck had gone from just attracting a few curious souls to practically flooded with kids of all ages and sizes especially when it came to the towering boy whom the girl had to tilit her head up a good ways to even get a glance of who she was talking to. It would not be hard to miss him in any outing, that much was for certain though the chance to make a new friend potentially would have to wait for another time, it appeared.

He excused himself suddenly but politely, Elena nodding watching as he turned and carved his way through the throng of kids enjoying the food and music thinking to herself. "Huh, interesting one." She mused to herself taking another bite of her snack digesting it before shooting a glance back at the brightly colored vessel which at this point was being practically attacked by students all clamoring to get a sample or two of the professor's fine cooking. Perhaps a dose of seconds was in due order but not yet, she would roam about to see if any familiar faces had themselves known, her eyes scanning to see if anyone stuck out in particular. To be fair, she wasn't exactly that much of a social butterfly as she wove in and out of the various crowds of students all chattering about all tied in their own converstations as she made her way for one of the unoccupied benches nearby which had yet to host anyone.

It was in settings like these that Elena tended to retreat to some secluded corner and simply watch the antics unfold. Usually though, she found herself drawn by some factor whether it be another person or something else. This time though, everyone seemed to be having a good old-fashioned time so she took that as a positive sign. In her own little bubble and with a cool drink in hand, it made for a rather relaxed way to observe everyone and everything that played out. A part of her wished she'd brought Flutters along, he'd probably be shaking his feathers in rage upon finding out that Elena had the audacity to go somewhere packed with food that he probably couldn't digest even, the thought made her smile as she took a sip placing her elbows on the table lost deep in her own thoughts.

Mentioning Gregori Erkens (@Ginevra Tsuchiya)
Not open to interactions except for Greg (interactions will probably be opened later)
Greg was Drew's best friend. It was an exclusive title that Drew reserved only for him. Looking at the two boys, you wouldn't expect it. Greg was quiet, analytical, and introverted, preferring to study rather than go to a party. Drew would take a party any day, extroverted and loud, a popular people person and known well. You wouldn't really think of putting the two together as best friends, or expecting them to find one another. But there was just something about Greg that Drew enjoyed so much. He was such a simple and yet oh so complicated person, and Drew couldn't help but want to spend time with him.

Lately, he had been roped into some stuff with his other friends- Charles and his friend and her friend, all now friends. Drew enjoyed spending time with them, as well, even though they never seemed to want to be around Greg very much. So, at this barbeque, he was not going to trail after Charles or make jokes with Cassie and Scarlett. Today, he was seeking out the quiet company of Greg.

And, because Andrew Lycan is Andrew Lycan, after all, he did it loudly. "GREG! WHERE ARE YOU?" he shouted into the crowd. Of course, he had spent a good minute searching for his friend in the crowd before he did this, and now he was standing on his tip-toes, scanning his surroundings, waiting for his call to be answered.

Gregorí turned his head around when he heard his name called - shouted, to be more precise. He had been wandering around the BBQ area all by himself earlier, not even in the mood to grab something to eat - and he was not hungry, either way. He had hoped, at least slightly, that Drew would find him here - and the American really did.

Andrew Lycan was the closest definition of friend Gregorí had ever found since he left his hometown. It was kind of funny because the two were almost total opposite - Drew was talkative and more into sports, while Gregorí was silent and preferred to use his brain.

The blond shouted for him, and whereas some people might find it embarrassing or annoying if they were in the Mexican's shoes, Gregorí did not mind it. As usual, he was rather indifferent about how people may perceive him. He walked towards his best friend, waved his hand slightly in order to attract Drew's attention. "Hey," said the Horned Serpent kid in a cool manner just like usual.

Even though the two were very good friends, lately they had not been interacting much, not since their last trip to Hogwarts in May. At that time, Drew spent more time with some friends from other schools. And then not long after they returned to Ilvermony, the students had to prepare for end-of-academic-year tests so study became everybody's main focus. The fact that Drew was in Wampus and Gregorí Horned Serpent did not help - the boys had even less time to see each other in this condition. And then summer vacation came.

Therefore, now the Mexican was slightly unsure how he ought to greet the American. As usual perhaps, but he could not help but feel that it was rather awkward. Would things ever be the same again?

INTERACTIONS @Percival Gray──
THE OUTFIT
───
MENTIONS the professors
Not particularly fond of having her questions turned back on her—especially when an answer had yet to be produced—Evelynn didn't deign to explain herself to him. Unlike Gray, she had every right to be there. As a prefect, she was bound to uphold the rules and ensure the rest of the student body did so as well. Given that she had caught sight of someone out of bounds, it seemed ridiculous to her that he could even question her presence there when it correlated directly to investigating his own. Lips pursed, a brow lofting already in preparation for his arrogance.

Silent judgement turned to veiled incredulity seconds later, however, when the boy admitted to his whereabouts relating to a prank. She certainly hadn't expected him to be so candid on the matter. Suspicion rose as he continued, overcast eyes flickering in the direction of the food truck as he spoke. It was, in part, an attempt to identify the unlucky targets of whatever plans the snake was laying. On the other hand, she couldn't quite shake the feeling that he was trying to throw her off with a tall tale of what she might have expected to hear in order to diffuse her awareness of something more insidious. Her gaze swept back to him, narrowed slightly as though attempting to pierce through a haze of deception to the truth beyond.

And yet...never did he waver from his story. He was referring to the teachers, she realized as he droned on. At least until he saw fit to strike a pointed—and quite plainly exaggerated—statement about her tendency to—quite accurately—point out his generally antagonistic demeanor. She ruffled defensively, brows subtly creasing with the thinning of her lips. What came next, however, shifted the atmosphere. What do you say? So casually spoken. As though addressing an acquaintance. A solicitation for aide; albeit, tempered by a countering quip. Not that she was surprised by that. She would be hard-pressed to recall any encounter with him that didn't involve a "nasty"—as he had put it himself—comment every other sentence.

"Well..." She hadn't responded at first, content to take a few moments to seriously ponder his...invitation. But when she did, her tone was somewhat breathy, almost as though begrudgingly obliged to acquiesce. "...if it is as you say, then I am not one to discourage any honouring of our professors. They put up with a great deal more than they ought need to. But don't think to name me accomplice if this is some sort of nefarious scheme. What is it that you had in mind?"

While still cautious, Evelynn couldn't deny that a part of her was curious as her storm gray eyes swept again over the supplies the boy had in tow. Her words implied an agreement to assist, which she intended to follow through with. For now, at least. On the one hand, to participate in something to praise the professors was an idea she would find quite charming were this any other individual. On the other, outward cooperation would allow her reason to remain in order to figure out what he was really up to.

@Ginevra Tsuchiya as Greg
Greg approached Drew, greeting him casually. Drew smiled, feeling a rush of relief. "Hey, man. Good to see that you made it here okay. I lost you on the train," he said.

Drew wandered away from the middle of the crowd, finding a place on the outskirts to hang out with his friend. Drew did this without thought, in the back of his mind knowing that Greg would rather be out without as many people than in the middle of the crowd, people chatting loudly all around him. Drew peered at his friend.

"So. I wanted to check with you," he said. "I know I've been hanging around other people as well as you lately. I wanted to let you know that I still like hanging around you and you're still my best friend, even though I'm spending time with them too. Is that all okay?" he asked his friend, giving him time to speak.

Drew liked his new friends- Charles, Cassie, and Scarlett, but that didn't mean that he also didn't like Greg and wanted to replace Greg at all. He wanted to make sure that Greg was alright with Drew's new friends and that Drew wasn't being completely ignorant about his quiet friend.

On one hand, Gregorí was glad that Drew was not mad at him or anything, and that he still considered the Horned Serpent kid his close friend - or to borrow his own words, his best friend.

Best friend. It was such a special word for Gregorí - a special status to be precise, because it was two-word instead of just one - for somebody as quiet and as brutally honest as the Mexican, he considered it very lucky a person would consider him a friend. A best friend was a double honor.

Drew also told him that the blond still enjoyed hanging out with the Latino, even when he hung out with other people as well. At these words, though, unconsciously Gregorí's body tensed. Maybe it was because of the mention of the American's new friends. These three kids - two girls and one boy from different schools, nobody of them went to Ilvermony with him and Drew - had not interacted with him much, but somehow Gregorí felt they refused to interact with him on purpose. It was as if they rejected him the moment they saw him.

Did it hurt? Maybe. Gregorí was not the type of person who got hurt easily - in fact, he was quite indifferent about things, usually it also included other people's feelings toward him.

Maybe it was more of jealousy. Drew was his closest friend at Ilvermony and across all magical schools he had had the chance to meet firsthand. And then these friends came and hung around the American, and rejected the Horned Serpent. It was almost as if they tried to hog Drew for themselves or to separate the two boys - at least that was how Gregorí felt subconsciously.

But to answer Drew, he merely said, "Well, sure. Everybody is allowed to hang out with any friend they have, not just one person or one group." He tried to keep his voice cool, and usually he was good at poker face. Did he succeed this time? He looked at his closest friend, waiting for his response and trying to scan the blond's body language.

Interacting with Gregori Erkens (@Ginevra Tsuchiya)
Open to Interactions
Drew's shoulders relaxed in relief at his friend's answer. He grinned. "Thanks," he said. "Just wanted to make sure you're alright."

Drew wasn't very observant, was he? Greg implying that he was okay didn't mean that he was okay. What if Greg had been lying? The question surprised Drew, even though it had come from his own mind.

What if Greg had been lying? What if he was just saying he was alright because he didn't want Drew to worry about him? What if he wasn't okay and he just said so, lying? What if Drew was actually excluding him and throwing away his relationship with Greg? What if he was accidentally pushing Greg away?

Drew stopped himself. That was ridiculous. What was he thinking? He sounded like Rose when she went on one of her rants about something and he had to reassure her that she was overthinking everything. Drew had actually never overthought anything before, and it was a weird feeling. Even if Greg had lied to Drew, it wouldn't be Drew's fault if he believed him. Greg would have been the one who lied, who led him the wrong way. Drew hadn't done anything wrong. And if Greg wanted Drew to know something, he would tell Drew. Drew knew that for sure.

Greg hadn't lied, Drew decided.

Only a second or two had passed while he was contemplating all of this. He shook away his thoughts, bringing himself back to reality. "Sorry, I just got lost in thought." Drew barely ever got lost in thought. He didn't really think that much, to be honest. But he brushed it off with a grin, a small feeling of fear in the pit of his stomach. What had happened just then? That hadn't been him.

"Anyway, how have you been? How was your summer so far?" Drew hadn't seen Greg since the school year had ended, so he wanted to know how his friend had been over the time that he hadn't seen him.
