Not even a week had gone by since Szymon’s arrival, and he was already up to some mischief. Well, mischief was a subjective word. The other day, he overheard some of his fellow Hufflepuffs arguing in the dorms, debating whether sneaking into the kitchens was something against the rules. As far as Szymon knew, it was not. Well, that was likely because he tried not to be informed of all the rules...he didn’t want to feel too guilty, especially since he just got there. Of course, Szymon was not looking to be kicked out of the school, but what was the point of having your life turned upside down and having an identity crisis if he couldn’t get a good adventure out of it? Learning that magic was real and he was capable of producing magic was...life changing. Literally. Whether it was good or bad, Szymon wasn’t quite sure. He learned that his childhood friend was also magical and had been keeping it from him for years. Of course, Szymon understood, but he couldn’t help but wonder if he didn’t get that letter.

Would he be left alone? He would need to find new friends. Though, he imagined that it could have been a nice life. Since moving to Hogwarts, his siblings seemed a bit off...but he understood that. He was so different to them. Szymon would indeed miss them, but he knew he had to shape up soon. This was his life, and getting a letter from Hogwarts would forever change his life...hopefully for the better. Because of that letter, he was given a castle to explore and an entire new world to learn about! Now, that cheered him up.

It didn’t take long for Szymon to find his way to the basements, where he knew the kitchens were housed. But of course, like any adventure, Szymon hardly knew what he was doing nor where he was going. He also knew Potions class, the dungeons, and Slytherin house were in the basements. Sometimes, Szymon worried about walking into another house’s common room. But he was told many times that wasn’t possible. He sure hoped it wasn’t. Since he was a Hufflepuff, he knew of the fun little tapping rhyme he had to do to enter. Szymon wasn’t at Hogwarts for too long, so he wasn’t sure what the other houses required. Shaking his anxious thoughts, Szymon focused.

He wanted to find the kitchens himself, so as a result, he was lost. Despite being around students who knew exactly where and how to enter the place, Szymon couldn’t help but want to find it himself. What was the point of spoiling the adventure? Besides, Szymon did like the feeling of being lost sometimes. He loved solving riddles and problem solving. Though Szymon was usually never alone. This time, he was. He didn’t want to bother his friends too much yet. Szymon already felt somewhat of a stranger in his own skin...why would his acquaintances be welcoming of him if he wasn’t welcoming of himself? Regardless, Szymon had to have this little adventure on his own. He sensed that the kitchens would become his favorite place...a safe spot for him to be alone with his thoughts.

Besides...who didn’t love food? And if there were less people...that meant more food for him! While a selfish thought, it was true! Szymon was a true food addict, and often joked with his friends saying “home is wherever I’m with food”. And so it seemed, this really was an adventure of finding his home. With food. Obviously. But ah, it seemed that Szymon was still a novice at exploring alone. The corridor he was walking down was only getting darker. Well, at least he knew he was still in the basements.

A week has passed since returning to Hogwarts. A week. Henry has been a third year for a week now. He has been using most of his time studying and reading ahead to maintain straight O's and achieve top of all his classes in his year. So besides from a few interactions, Henry hasn't been keeping up with his social life which is larger than he originally thought would.

The young teen has a tight circle of close friends that include his cousin and step sister along Erik a few others friends. Then others seem to know his name to from his position on the Viridian Vipers, slytherin dueling team among other rumours as well. Henry wasn't sure what to think of this growing popularity and he didn't really like it to be honest. He preferred to remain in the back and quiet, reading not minding anyone's business and no one minding his own.

Henry decided to take a little walk around the basements and grounds, stretch his legs before heading back to the library to study. Loki sat on his right shoulder as the duo wandered through the basements not expecting to find another there.

Henry looked around, his blue eyes straining for a bit of light that they came across. It was rather dark in the basements and even a bit chilly, his jacket helped with that but Henry considered using the wand lighting charm for a moment. Deciding against it and leaving his wand securely in his jacket pocket as he walked with his orange feline on his shoulder.

Henry turned the corner and spotted another in the basements. A boy, perhaps a first year by his appearance. Henry smiled toward the lad as he spoke" Hey, wandering around the basements to?"
