Avery watched, dark brown eyes following Henry intently as he placed a book onto the table and nudged it to the far end of the table. What was going to happen next? He held his breath.
"Accio book," Henry said, and the young boy watched with his mouth agape as the book flung itself into the air and landed into the older boy's other hand. The book seemed to have a mind of its own -- no, the boy seemed to make the book have a mind of its own by the boy's very command. Just imagine -- the number of pranks one could play with a spell like that! (Imagine using that spell on toilet paper in the boys' lavatory...) Avery realized he'd been holding his breath as he watched. "Wow!" he exclaimed, and realized he'd been louder than he'd thought, and immediately lowered his voice after glancing around, in case someone in the library saw or heard. "That was amazing! Could you please show me again or teach me sometime? That would be awesome." He glanced around, noticing that a few students strolled past the shelves nearby. "But maybe another time, since I wouldn't want us to get into trouble." There was definitely a lot he could learn from Henry. The opportunities seemed endless and his year was coming to a good start.
Avery listened as Henry reassured him that things were better now. He was sure that although the pain was still there, it probably helped with the passing of time. "That's too bad," he said, after learning that his twin sister was missing, "I hope she's found soon." He vaguely tried to think about how he might be able to support Henry during this time or in this effort, before Henry asked him if he had any other questions.
The young boy thought for a second. Actually, there probably was. Avery had been wanting to meet more people at Hogwarts, and that was probably something that Henry could help him with. "I'm really new to Hogwarts, so I haven't started meeting very many people yet. Maybe if you know any people I could meet, or cool events that are happening, please let me know anytime!" It would be great if he got to know more people in his own house, people in events like dueling, or anyone really. He was determined to carve out a good start to the year with a bit of adventure.

Henry placed his wand back inside his jacket pocket as he turned toward Avery, with a smile. Even though his excitment may have been too loud and Henry didn't want to get kicked out from the library, he was glad the first year enjoyed the demonstration of the summoning charm.
Henry smiled when Avery asked if he could show him and naturally Henry nodded. The thought of showing Avery the spell and help9mg him learn it was exhilarating to Henry as he replied" that would be great and I can teach you some others to if you want," however his newfound friend was correct that the library wasn't the place and the young teen would perfer it if either got kicked out as he nodded, " another day in the dueling room perhaps."
There conversation changed and Henry smiled, nodding slightly to Avery's words about his twin. Not bringing himself to say any words so he didn't, he just sat there. Smiling at his friend.
The conversation continued and Henry smiled to the boy's words, taking a moment to think of upcoming events before replying" sure and if you want I can introduce you to my friends? They would love to meet you," alright Henry wasn't sure with that statement but he was pretty sure his friends would like Avery. Cash, Logan, Rose, Aldor, Scarlett, and the lot of them. He was sure.
"The first stage of duels are coming up as well and not because I'm a duelist but if your interested in spells then you should go," Henry spoke and remembered quidditch, the teen wasn't a big fan but thought be should recommend it as he spoke" the first quidditch match is coming up soon, you can go with me and my friend if you want," Henry smiled toward Avery then had a idea or thought.
"Not that it matters, what's house are you in?" Henry asked taking a moment to add, " I'm a slytherin, I'm going to guess your a Ravenclaw or slytherin?"

Avery was so ready to learn everything he could at Hogwarts. That spell he just saw -- mind-blowing. The prospect of practicing spells in the dueling room -- jaw-dropping. This year was coming off to a good start.
How nice it was of Henry, to suggest introducing Avery to his friends! "I'd be so happy to meet any of your friends as well!" he said. Yes, he was really looking forward to getting to know people at Hogwarts and exploring this new world of magic. Dueling and quidditch matches? He had no idea what to expect from those, but one had to try, right? "Yeah, joining you guys for a quidditch match sounds fun! If you and your friend would be okay with it, that is," he said, eager to learn how the game worked and hear live commentary from companions at a game.
"I'm actually in Slytherin," he responded, when Henry asked him about his house. "I was wondering if I was going to get into Ravenclaw, but the hat decided on Slytherin, which was fine by me." He didn't really understand the different houses anyway, but Slytherin's common room and dorms seemed a little cold to him, especially since he didn't have a real roommate yet. "I'm not quite settled in to the dorms at Slytherin, and I don't have a fixed bunkmate yet, so it's not quite as comfortable as I'd like it to be" he admitted.

The last two years weren't the best, they had a mixture of good and bad. However Henry has a feeling that his third year would end up being better than the previous years. He had a feeling that third year would be his year... correction would be his and his friends year. Avery was included.
Henry was thinking of a few friends to introduce to Avery, a smiled formed wider on his lips as he thought them over. Rose, Logan, Scarlett, Cash, Alexa, and Aldor would probably like to meet him and a few more.
"Most of them are from hufflepuff and gryffindor but there's a few from slytherin," Henry explained as the young teen found it a little assuming how majority of his friends belonged to either gryffindor or hufflepuff, "Most are also muggleborns as well and are on one of the teams here. My sister is a duelist for gryffindor, and my two best friends are a duelist for hufflepuff and quidditch player for slytherin," Henry finished thinking about Logan and Cash not concerned that he just referred to Rose as his sister, they were step siblings now but still it felt normal. Almost to normal.
"My friends won't mind another coming and I think you enjoy seeing the sports maybe you could even join quidditch or dueling, " Henry replied to the first year as he technically didn't have any plans to go to a match. At least not yet. Quidditch has never been his thing but he was willing to go with friends to support his friends who wirte playing, he did have friends in every house after all.
Henry perked up when Avery said he was a slytherin, that information sounded amazing to Henry. Listening to his other words as well, waiting for him to finish before Henry smiled as he replied" the sorting hat considered putting me into ravenclaw as well but at the last moment choose slytherin," Henry remembered the last two years and how he wanted to be in ravenclaw. How he didn't care for slytherin and saw his house as a disadvantage but now. Now he felt a bit better that he was a slytherin and was actually happy that he got into the house.
Henry listened to Avery talk about dormitory's and bunk mates, the young teen was alone in room 3 that year. Since Michael got himself a new bunk mate in a room farther away from Rainwood and Tone. Henry actually enjoyed being alone that year but wouldn't mind a bunk mate as he spoke" I'm in the snape dormitory and don't have a bunk mate if you want to bunk together?" Loki moved his amber eyes from Henry to Avery waiting for a answer.

Avery listened as Henry explained who his friends were: people in various houses who were duelists and quidditch players. It seemed that he knew quite a few people from various houses and activities. It would be very interesting to get to know some of them.
So, it seemed that Henry was thinking the same thing as Avery when getting sorted! "Same! The Sorting Hat felt I had traits that would fit into Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but Slytherin seemed to be my calling in the end. I'm not quite sure why it chose Slytherin, but I guess I'll try to make the most of it." Perhaps, somewhere deep within him, was actually an ambition to accomplish whatever he could achieve. The boy had a strong sense of purpose, but only when he had set his sights. Right now, he only felt like a buoy in the waters, first being directed by where his parents wanted him to go, and now just riding wherever the waves carried him in the dark sea. For the first time in his life, his path was not completely dictated by his parents and he only knew that he wanted to make the most of this opportunity.
Avery beamed when Henry asked if he wanted to be bunkmates. "Yes, that would be great! If you're okay with me crashing with you?" Things were really looking up. The prospect of bunking with a friend was perfect; he would've hated it if he ended up with someone he couldn't get along with. "Loki, would you you be okay with it?" he asked the ginger cat, knowing that he'd probably have to get his approval as well to join them.

Loki sat in the chair besides his owner, amber eyes peering over the table. Gazing between Avery and Henry as each boy spoke, almost like the feline was listening to their conversation. Felines minds work in mysterious ways it seemed at times.
Henry listened to Avery talk about his sorting experience, the young teen smiled and was glad to have met someone who didn't want to be in slytherin before they were sorted and who the hat considered placing into a different house as well. Occasionally the teen imagined how different his life would be if he was sorted into ravenclaw or hufflepuff or gryffindor... he wouldn't know Santario or be a part of the Viridian Vipers. He wouldn't have known about the Snape dormitory or met Selim, Jack, Michael, and the others. He wouldn't be as close as he is with Cash. His life would be different, wouldn't it? If he was sorted into another house.
Henry smiled toward Avery, took a breath then spoke" I reckon it's a good thing were both Slytherin's then since we both met and are now bunk mates," the young teen smiled toward him his mind wandered toward his dorm mate from last year.
@Michael Miller. The now second year is a werewolf just like Henry only thing was, the school found out about his secret and Henry kept his werewolf nature a secret still. Because of that, the teen felt worried that some might assume he was a werewolf to if he remained bunk mates with Michael. So Henry agreed with him to bunk into different rooms that year, he couldn't let others find out about his secret. He wasn't as comfortable or embraced his wolf side yet like others did.
"That would be brilliant if we cashed together, Avery," Henry replied with a smile as he imagine late night talking or playing violin with Avery. During the day studying or reading with the first year, they were far in age but that didn't matter at least not to Henry.
Upon hearing his name and perhaps question, Loki gave a short meow and nodded his head a bit almost giving his approval with Avery bunking with them. Henry smiled and starched Loki's ears a bit before turning toward Avery as he spoke"Loki agrees with you bunking with us, he likes you which is difficult for him to trust others since he had trust issues, " Henry smiled at his orange feline before turning back to Avery as he spoke" shall we go move your things into the bunk room now? Top or bottom bunk?" Henry already had his stuff set out on the bottom but he won't mind moving after spending a summer on the bottom of a bunk with Rose, he figured the top would do him and Loki some good if Avery wanted the bottom.

Yes, so it was a deal! He would have a great place to stay, with a new friend. Avery was ready for this new chapter to start. Considering how similar Henry and his interests were to Avery's own, it would be a great way to learn from each other and figure out what opportunities lay in wait for him in the future. Perhaps he would learn to become a duelist, like Henry. Perhaps they would show each other interesting books that they've been reading. Perhaps they could practice violin together and share different music sheets they've found.
Avery beamed as Loki meowed and nodded his approval. Even Loki was glad that he would be joining them! It was as if everything was simply meant to be, falling into place. His parents never let him have pets growing up, and now he was able to share a dorm room with a cat as adorable as Loki. The young boy was very optimistic about the beginning of his Hogwarts adventure.
"Let's go!" he said, standing up and packing away his books. "I'm eager to finally get settled in. It's like I'll finally have a place on this campus. Let's see, if the top bunk isn't taken, I'd like to take that one!" The boy had never had a bunk bed before, since he was an only child, and being on a top bunk just felt like a brand new experience. It would be a space of his own, yet shared with someone else.
He slung his backpack over his shoulder and grinned at Henry and Loki, ready to go.

Henry wasn't the most keen on revealing to others that he's a werewolf. It was a secret. His secret. His most treasured and darkest secret that he held. It was one of the reason he originally planned to room by himself that year so he wouldn't have to tell another his darkest secret or make up a excuse to someone he would come to consider a friend.
However with Avery it felt different. Even through the boy was a first year and new to magic, Henry didn't mind and was excited to have a bunk mate again. The teen was a little nervous about telling Avery his secret but wasn't that worried, he has a feeling that he could trust him and the two would become friends. He hoped.
Henry smiled toward Avery as he heard his words, nodding to them before he would reply"the room will always be your place at campus for years to come," smiling he was already starting to sound like a older year and be was only in third. Wow. Things were going to be interesting but also fun. Just had to tell Avery about his fury secret somehow just not here.
"I'm on the bottom so the top is free," Henry explained as he got up from his chair. Loki jumped from his chair to Henry's right shoulder and sat there as the young teen out his small stack of books away then left the library with Avery to the snape dormitory.
Henry smiled at Avery, orginally he did want to room alone. Afraid if someone else finding out that he's a werewolf, afraid of someone judging him or having prejudices aginest him. But now, now that he was bunking with Avery. Henry can only see the bright side and nailed looking forward for the year ahead.
