(Serena Towers & Reyna Calthorn)

Serena bite her lip as she walked towards the castle, with a Gryffindor girl following behind her. Her mind wandered to Reid for a moment. Was he going to be okay? The injury on his head was worrying her. She was not sure how he managed to hit his head. Perhaps the impact of the snowball was too fast or the rocks that seemed to be in them had hit him and caused him to fall. She did not see the whole thing. She witnessed the blood on his head and panicked. But this was Reid, he was a fighter. He had gotten hurt several times and just recovered so quickly. Heck, she had seen him get hurt when a girl had accidentally kicked him and he was still polite. It was pretty impressive. Serena would have been fuming if someone randomly kicked her. Reid politely asked why she had done it.

The Hufflepuff Prefect looked up to him a lot. He was a good guy, true to many of the Hufflepuff traits. He seemed to always get hurt though and that worried her. She hated seeing the people she cared about get hurt. She should have been able to protect him. The aforementioned kick he received was actually because of her. At least, she blamed herself for it even when she was told not to. This whole situation was a little tense. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to make sure he was okay and safe. However, he had been escorted out of the event by a boy that she really did not like right now. Unfortunately, that boy was perhaps a good person to help him out too. He was a pro at handling wounds, if nothing else. He got into enough fights, after all. Besides, there was also a friend of hers that went to help him. She trusted that friend enough to know she could handle them.

"Yeah, I'm fine... I just hope Reid is able to get healed up quickly..."

Looking over to the girl behind her, Serena smiled softly and gestured to some seats as they entered into the Great Hall. "Reid will be fine," She replied with a nod, she believed that. She would make sure of it once she was checked on this girl. The girl who had put Reid in this position. The attacker, shall we call her? Unfortunately, Serena still did not know her name, which was a little awkward. Referring to her as an attacker was also a bit awkward, since she was here to comfort her. The girl looked so broken. It was definitely a mistake on her part, Serena had no doubt about that. She just wanted to make sure that the girl was okay. Emotional wounds perhaps were worse than physical ones. No one saw those, no one offered you help. Reid had a few people escorting him the Hospital Wing right now. He would heal. This girl had no one. And Serena would never let that happen.

"By the way, I'm really sorry about that... I had no clue that there were any rocks inside those snowballs, and I feel horrible about it."

Serena shook her head, still smiling at her. "Don't worry about him, he'll be okay. We can apologise to him later," She replied to the girl after she apologised for hurting Reid. Sitting down by one of the place settings, "Come, let's get some food first." Serena continued as she pat the seat next to her. The Gryffindor was smiling now, at the very least. This counted as an improvement from that empty shell look she had earlier, "You okay?" She asked her.

The tables were empty right now but food slowly started to appear after they sat down. Serena had chosen a random table, away from the house tables so that she could sit with the Gryffindor girl.

Reyna felt joy blossom in her heart where hollowness had been just moments before. A flower needs space to grow, her mind mused of almost it's own accord. This girl had planted a seed of kindness, of warmth, where a once hollow space had been moments before. And that seed was slowly blossoming into a flower in the hollowness, filling the empty space.

Until the girl had mentioned food, Reyna hadn't realized just how much the snowball fight had drained her. Where she had once felt a full stomach, she now felt an empty space that clawed at her chest, a powerful hunger that she could truly feel. The snowball fight had also leeched her body of its warmth, which was now creeping back into her bones, courtesy of the warm air of the castle around her. Where she once felt buzzing energy, she now felt an aching tiredness that filled her from head to toe. But something new was filling her. It was a sweet feeling, of everything clicking into place, of the world stopping spinning and relaxing. It was the feeling of a new friendship.

Reyna paid heed to Serena's every word, feeling as though every syllable she said could change the world. "I'm mostly fine... other than that one monster snowball that hit me in the side. It'll definitely bruise... that Siege will pay for it," the Gryffindor said, with quite a bit of venom in her voice. She had always been the type to remember the wrongdoings others to did to her, and she held that against them almost as long as she was able to remember them.

She wondered if Serena knew Siege. After all, they were both prefects, so they must have seen each other around at some time. "Do you... know him?" Reyna asked, remembering how the Hufflepuff had awkwardly avoided the boy at almost all costs, looking away from him whenever he glanced at her and turning red. It was quite interesting, and it seemed to Reyna as though the two had a history together.

Your obedient servant,

The Hufflepuff took some of the chicken that appeared onto a dish near her and placed it onto her own plate. She took a bread roll too and cut it open with her butter knife before spreading the some butter onto it. Whilst she did this, she listened to girl beside her the whole time. Serena's fingers tightened a little around her knife. The one name that she did not want to hear reached her ears. Siege... Serena stared down at the plate below her. The Gryffindor said that Siege had hit her with a monster snowball, speaking about him with what sounded like hatred in her voice. Serena could not help but wonder if he had done something else to the girl... Perhaps the same thing he did to her...

What made it worse was that the girl asked Serena outright if she knew him. There was no way to avoid this conversation it seemed. Although she did not want to talk about Siege, it looked like fate wanted her to. Which sucked. Big time. "Oh uh- well-" Serena started in response to the abrupt question she was asked, "Sorta..." She replied, unsure of how to proceed with this conversation. The Hufflepuff reached out for her goblet, which had been filled with juice and brought it to her lips. Her fingers shook a little around the goblet as she took a couple of sips before placing it back on the table. She did not let go of it, however. Instead, Serena clutched it a little tighter. "I guess. We used to uh, hang out, I guess. A while back..." She continued... We used to be friends... Or at least, I thought we were...

In all honesty the same question had plagued her mind this whole time. Do I know Siege? Do I actually know him? She felt like she did not. She thought she knew the boy well enough to class him as a friend. Perhaps her closest friend. However, it seemed that she knew nothing about him. The more she thought about it, the less she seemed to know. There were so many things that she had never asked him. Questions that had plagued her mind at the time but there never seemed a right time to bring it up. He was great at avoiding answering things.

Serena recalled the day they stopped talking. The incident that had occurred that day... Her gaze flickered everywhere in front of her, avoiding the girl's face. It was awkward to even think about. But something else irked her. The Gryffindor girl beside her seemed to have a dislike for him too... Perhaps... He- No no- but... he might have- ARGH, that boy! She thought to herself, clearly conflicted about what she should do or if she should ask, "D- do you know him well?" Serena mustered up the courage to ask, silently hoping he had not gone around the school doing the same thing.
