Rose decided she didn't like airports at all. It was big and bustling and there was so much security. Rose felt like at any moment she could be randomly tackled for accidentally breaking a rule or knocked over by some hoity toity businessman. It was so loud. Rose felt like forcing her siblings to make a protective circle around her, so that she could hide from all of the people and all of the noise. She felt like snatching Henry's hand and squeezing it until she knew she was safe. It crushed all of the breath out of her, and she hated every second that she stood in the airport. She would do anything to get out of there as quick as she could.

But she just stood there, waiting for her Aunt Margerie.

"I wonder where Margerie is," Pearl murmured, half to herself, half to Luke, whose arm she was holding onto. They were all packed and ready for their honeymoon, but their flight left after the kids' did.

"Margerie's coming with us?" Gabe asked, furrowing his brow.

Frankie sighed loudly and dramatically. "Don't you listen at all, Gabriel?" That was Frankie's new thing- calling the people whom he was annoyed with by their full names and not their sibling-assigned nicknames. "The original plan was for Aunt Coco since Drew woulda been at summer camp, but since summer camp is in a different month than last year, she wants to spend time with him, and so Margerie is coming to be with us and make sure we don't wreck the house and bully Rose and stuff."

Rose opened her mouth in protest. "Bully-"

"I am not permitting the bullying of anybody," Faith retorted. "And, for another thing-"

"It was a joke and a possible example, Faith. Cool your jets," Frankie rolled his eyes, casting his gaze around to look at the airport around him.

"Anyway," Pearl said, clearing her throat. "We have a present for the four of you." She guestured to Rose, Henry, and both of Rose's older siblings. She pulled out four boxes and handed them to each of them- green for Henry, red for Rose, yellow for Faith, and blue for Frankie. Rose thought it was quite symbolic of their house colors, not to mention something else she couldn't quite place... Anyway, Rose opened her little box to find... a phone. A phone!

Rose had wanted a phone for a while, but she hadn't really ever gotten one since her family didn't really have a lot of money, and they wouldn't work at Hogwarts. But now she had a phone! Looking around to Faith, Frankie, and Henry, they all got phones as well. "I already set them up and everything, I think I got it right, but I needed some help from the YouTube-s. My number should be on there so that you can contact me and... I know they're not super high-quality, but-"

"Thank you, Mom," Faith said. "Really. I love it." Rose and Frankie nodded their enthusiastic agreement, Frankie, for once, lost for words. Pearl smiled in relief, glad they liked their present.

They all jumped when they heard somebody shouting at the top of their lungs.

"I'M HERE! I'M HERE! PEARL, STOP WORRYING! I-" an older woman came up to them, running. She stopped yelling in order to bend over and pant for a little bit.

"Auntie!" Pearl exclaimed happily, coming up to the woman.

"Don't..." She said, still panting. After she caught her breath a little bit, she continued, saying, "Don't worry! I'm here. On time."

Rose leaned over to Henry and whispered to him over the chatter of the airport, "That's our great-aunt Margerie. She's super cool, and to be honest, we'll have a lot more fun with her than we ever could with our parents. That's not saying much, though, is it?" She smiled a little at him.

Pearl rolled her eyes a little. "I wasn't worrying. And... you're actually later than I told you to be here, but with just enough time to get on the plane."

"Not worrying? Who are you and what have you done with my Pearl?" she laughed a little, a charming and beautiful one. The two of them came forward to hug, like mother and daughter. Rose always thought it was curious how Pearl was closer with her aunt than her actual mother, but nevermind. Luke, who had apparently met Margerie at the wedding, held his hand out to shake hers, but Margerie ignored it and hugged him, too.

"Don't we have to- go?" Jessica said, speaking up.

"Oh!" Margerie exclaimed, looking at her watch. "Yes! Come, kids, come on! Bye Pearl, bye Luke! Good to see you dears!" She waved at Pearl and Luke while walking away.

She led the six kids towards security, where they, as quick as they could, went through security and boarded the plane, on which it was much, much less crowded and loud. You could see Rose's shoulders drop in relief as she boarded. Margerie squinted at their tickets as she came on the plane, then handed them to Frankie instead. "My glasses are in my bag. Will you read the seats out loud so we can find them?"

They had seven seats right next to each other- two rows of three on the right side of the plane near the middle, and one seat to the left of those two rows. Faith, Frankie, and Jess claimed the first row, Margerie had the and Gabe grabbed the window-seat before either Rose or Henry could.

Rose rolled her eyes. Henry probably didn't want to sit next to Gabe, so Rose sat in the middle, leaving Henry to sit on the end. "Glad we made it in time," she said, looking over to Henry. "Ever been on a plane before?"

The plane took off, and Rose turned to watch through the window as the plane rose up off the ground. The clouds were so pretty from this height, and, strangely, this was so much better than the airport.

Rose saw Margerie lean over to Henry once most things died down. She said, "Excuse me, it's Henry, right? I'm Margita, but everyone calls me Margerie, and you can do the same, if you'd like. I guess I'm your step-great-aunt..." she looked up at the ceiling of the plane, contemplating that thought. "Yes, that's right." She laughed a little. "A little complicated, isn't it? Step-great-aunt. Anyway, now that you're one of these guys, I just wanted to tell you that I'm here if you need anything. But you don't have to, of course. All up to you, love." Margerie had that air around her that made you want to trust her. She didn't want anything out of you and she would respect any boundaries you put up. That was probably what she liked most about Margerie. She was there if you needed her, but even if you didn't need her, she would respect that.

"I can tell this is gonna be a lot of fun," Margerie said. "Or, if y'all wanna be angsty teenagers, that works too." She laughed at her own joke a little.

The plane ride was more than nine hours long, and Rose started out the plane ride just doodling in her journal, catching up with her thoughts. She hoped Henry liked Margerie, or, at least, grew to like her. Once she had caught up with her thinking a little bit, she read a book for a while, and then listened to some music on her fancy new phone, and accepted a very competitive game of rock-paper-scissors from Gabe, whom soon was joined by Jessica instead, and then Rose did some journaling. If Henry wanted to talk to her about anything or join in the rock-paper-scissors game, he would be given their attention.

Rose decided she liked plane rides. Mostly.

When the plane landed, they had to go through a whole other airport (yuck), and then pile into an Uber that went from the Miami airport to the beach house. Then, they proceeded to all pile out of the car and grab their luggage out of the trunk, and then see their first view of the beach house.

"Wow," Rose whispered. It was big enough for seven people to live in for two weeks, which was good, because that's what was going to happen. You could literally walk out of your door, down some steps, and then down into the ocean (okay, maybe there was a little bit of walking across the sand to get to the ocean, but you know what I mean).

"Well, this brings back memories," Margerie said softly. And, from Rose's knowledge of Margerie's backstory with the Berntholds, she doubted they were good memories at all. Henry would probably notice Margerie's extreme lack of magic using, and she didn't even dress like a witch. She didn't ever have a wand on hand, and she pulled out actual keys instead of using the Unlocking Charm. This was because Margita Bernthold was a squib. She had been bullied by her family about this when she was younger, and she still hadn't forgiven Rose's grandparents for how she was treated. That was why she had moved to the United Kingdom.

Rose and her siblings followed Margerie up the steps and to the door, which was unlocked using a brass key. She opened the door and they all came in, with enthusiastic squeals from Jessica.

"Okay, everyone listen up!" Margerie said, calling the attention to her. "There are four rooms- a master bedroom, which I'll be taking, and three rooms, each of which have two beds. Y'all will have to bunk together. Henry gets first pick of who he's gonna share a room with since we want him to be comfortable and we don't want Jess to keep him up all night. Choose your rooms, unpack, get into your pajamas, brush your teeth, blah blah blah, all that jazz, okay? Don't fight."

Luke - Speech
Arthur - Speech
Change. It was similar to a natural disaster. It is dreaded, it arrives and destroys everything in its path then leaves like nothing happened.

Henry Knight spent the 8th of the month at his father's wedding to Pearl Moon, the start of the chnage. The 9th he spent finishing packing up the townhouse in Liverpool and moving boxes to their new home in godric hollow, the effects of the change. The night of the 9th, Henry stayed at Arthur's house since their father decided to spend the night with his wife. The 10th he was going to America for two weeks with his five new step siblings since the adults were going on a honeymoon trip.

Henry felt sick. Not physically but mentally.

The thirteen year old was going to the muggle airport with his elder brother; Arthur who got a license and a muggle car for himself. For some reason he wanted to drive even through he could just use magic to transport himself places.

A single suitcase in the backseat and a backpack sat on Henry's shoulders whose sitting in the passage side of the muggle car. Henry has on jeans and a black hoodie with the words Antisocial Social Club meaning since he wasn't exactly in the mood for socializing or talking. The teen was even ignoring his father or at least trying to.

Arthur was contrast to Henry and wearing jeans and a salmon color button down shirt, the young adult was dropping his brother off at the airport then would go start studying for his Auror examinations that were at the end of that month. July 25th to be extract.

Arthur would pulled in front of the airport, bringing the car to a stop. Henry looked out the window, not looking forward to going to american and being so far from his brother and beloved orange feline.

Arthur could sense this and would offer his younger brother a smile as he spoke" you'll have fun, just give it a chance," Henry would lean his head back against the seat as his blue eyes looked over at his brother and he spoke "sure and this isn't another way to get rid me designed by father," Henry didn't care and he didn't show any emotion to those words as Arthur smiled and simply replied" you can't ignore him Henry." Henry seemed to expect that and tighten his grip on his bag as he spoke" we'll be in separate countries for the next two weeks and then there will be six others in the house so yes I can." Henry looked over at Arthur who lightly shook his head at his brother as he spoke" but you shouldn't, trust me."

Henry knew that his elder brother ignored their father for years after their mum died, the two only started talking again. So Henry just rolled his eyes a bit toward Arthur as he replied" you did it for years so why is it any differently now," Arthur just looked at Henry, neither wanted to fight so they didn't. Instead Arthur just smiled a little as he spoke" give him a chance, alright?" Henry just nodded a bit toward his brother before the two leaned in and hugged each other ending with Arthur ruffling Henry's hair as he spoke" have fun and keep in touch, fox," Henry only smiled at his brother as he flatten his hair again and replied"no promises."

Henry grabbed his backpack and suitcase and the two brothers departed for two weeks. The thirteen would find the family and stand near Rose, his father attempted to stand near him and speak to him but Henry didn't let him.

The teen pulled his hood over his head and wasn't in the mood for conversation that day.

The others has conversation mainly about the lady who was suppose to watch them for two weeks in america, Henry didn't really pay attention until Pearl jumped in. About gifts.

Handing Faith, Franklin, Rose, and him a box wrapped in their house colors. Henry looked at the box and silently thought to himself.

I'm in slytherin that doesn't mean I like green... I'm not a slytherin supported and don't parade my house colors around..

Opening it then discarding of the box, Henry found a muggle smartphone. The others including Rose seemed excited to receive one, Henry wasn't that excited. He didn't care to have a muggle phone and simply placed it into his backpack besides his wand.

When Pearl finished, Luke jumped in as he spoke" both of our contact information are in them and we'll appreciate it if one of you call us every few days," that won't be Henry. The last thing he wanted was to talk to his father, they'll probably get Franklin or Faith to call them up anyway.

The lady whose name; Margerie finally showed and Henry slightly nodded to Rose's explanation of her figuring that she was the squib who Pearl talked about last Christmas holiday. Henry didn't engaged in the conversation and he followed the group near the back as they went through the security for the airport.

Airports weren't that bad. They required patience and occasionally there were strange smells or tight areas but it was that bad. It was manageable.

Before boarding, seats were given out and Franklin, Faith, and Jess literally jumped for the first row. Henry only watched them as he settled for the aisle seat next to Rose.

When they boarded the plane, Henry heard Rose's question and gave a short answer as he spoke"no," as he helped the others put their luggage in the river head compartment then take his seat besides Rose. Backpack on his legs.

When the plane took off, Margerie would lean across the aisle and talk to Henry about how she was his step great aunt and if he wanted, she would be there for him. Henry would only give her a small nod, he didn't care who said he was there for him or not. The young teen thought he didn't need anyone, he survived thirteen years without a responsible parent figure and he could survive the rest. All he needed was his elder brother, right? Or maybe he was wrong?

During the flight Henry listened to music on his muggle ipod, preferring not to use the smartphone and wrote in his journal while occasionally looking over at Gabe and Rose. The two started to have a competitive rock, paper, scissors game but Henry sat out chosing to remain silent and wirte with his hood up. He wasn't a angsty teenager, just a introverted who was quiet and going through a few things.

When they landed, Henry helped the other with their luggage then they all went through another airport eventually making it inside a cramped uber and traveling to the beach house.

Upon arriving, Henry gazed upon the house. It was large, larger than what the young teen was use to. Margerie lack of magic was caught by Henry but he didn't mind, he enjoyed doing things the muggle way and before that summer he usually had to do that at home sences his father was almost was away.

Following the rest in the house and looking around, Henry kept his hood up but was impressed by the whole house. It was definitely large and bright.

Jess even squealed then Margerie spoke again about choosing rooms and changing into pajamas and such. When the lady finished, she seemed to give them a smile and went upstairs to the master bedroom to unpack her own luggage.

The children waited then raced upstairs to the three rooms as well. Well technically it was Faith, Jess, Gabe, and Franklin who raced up the stairs while Henry walked following Rose up. Still not saying anything.

Henry looked into each room as the others bickered about who would get what room. Two had bunk beds and one did not, after spending nearly a whole year in a bunk bed Henry knew which room he wanted.

"I'm the oldest so I should get first pick anyway," Faith protested and Henry hung back, listening to the conversation that Franklin seemed to continue as he replied" aunt Margerie said Henry has first pick Faith and I doubt he would want to bunk with you," Henry watched as Faith's eyes narrowed and she snapped" rude and I'm taking this room and only Jess or Rose can bunk with me." As Faith moved toward room 2, Henry walked a bit faster and would lightly smile as he spoke" excuse me and only Rose, Frankie, and Gabe can bunk here." Henry could here Franklin laughing behind him as he entered the room 2, leaving the door open.

Room 2 was the only room without a bunk and Henry was pleased with his choice as he placed his suitcase at the foot of the bed farest from the door and threw his backpack on the bed. Taking a seat on it as he waited for who would room with him.

"I think I'll take room 1, didn't you want that room also Faith?" Franklin seemed to ask Faith and claimed room 1 with Gabe tagging behind him. Jess didn't contribute to the agurment and would claim a bunk in room 3 while Faith seemed to determined to get into room 1 and would stand in the entrance as she asked Henry, " can we room together Henry? I perfer you to Jess and it could be quieter," Henry just lightly shook his head with a smile as he watched the girl storm off into room 3 with Jess.

Henry set his eyes on Rose who he smiled toward as he spoke" guess we will be bunking together then," Henry pulled out his pajamas bottom and top from his backpack and looked over at Rose as he spoke" I'll change in a corner and you in the opposite?" The young teen waited to hear her response before changing into his pajamas, pulling off his trainers and setting them next to his suitcase neatly. Putting his hoodie on the bed and leaving his socks on. He would sit on his bed and pull out his journal, writing in it while he waited for the others.

Rose squinted a little at Henry. When he was stressed, he had two moods- extra talkative or not talkative at all. Like back in the Trials, he had been whispering all his thoughts to Rose and Katrina and Scarlett. He kept leaning over and talking. And he had sure talked when magical species were mentioned.

But now he was being deathly quiet. The only greeting that she got was him standing next to her. The whole trip, he kept his head down and didn't say anything. Not anything at all. Rose wondered if it was because of Margerie, if he didn't feel comfortable with her there. Or maybe he just wasn't okay with the concept of having a stepfamily and spending a couple weeks with them. Maybe he didn't like being apart from Loki. Maybe he was just stressed in general. No matter what it was, Rose knew that even if his thoughts were little whispers inside his head, Henry's thoughts was definitely much, much louder than outside.

Maybe even screaming.

Rose wished she could take a peek inside and find a way to put him at ease. Or maybe he was at ease, and she was just being paranoid. There was no real way for her to know with Henry Knight, was there?

He was silent most of the plane ride and didn't seem to want to interact with any of them, including Margerie, so Rose left him alone.

As they arrived in the house, Rose had two reactions- one, she wanted to explore. Being the Berntholds' beach house, and the Berntholds being a rich pureblood family, of course it was huge. Big and bright and expensive-ish looking. And two- she really wanted to go to sleep.

Rose was used to checking that everybody was there with her, and did a head count of her siblings as they went up the stairs. Just being paranoid again.

The redhead didn't pay much attention as the rest of her siblings bickered over their rooms. Except Henry did claim the middle room as well as saying that neither Faith nor Jessica were allowed to bunk with him. Inwardly, she was proud of him for standing his ground. It wasn't something she always got to see him do. She stood back as Faith stormed into another room, followed by Jess. Jess glanced at Rose and the redhead shrugged a little in response.

Faith and Jess normally got grouped together, Rose had noticed. Yes, of course they were very good friends. But sometimes she knew Faith got tired of it and wanted to be paired with someone else for a change. Obviously, she wasn't happy with Frankie for telling her no, and he would usually be her first choice if she was a little fed up with Jessica.

Frankie and Gabe paired up, and Rose was inwardly relieved. To be honest, they had experienced a really rough spot in their relationship when Gabe had been sorted into Ravenclaw, but Rose was feeling like it was getting better.

To be honest, Henry actually seemed to be enjoying this a little bit. Maybe he was amused by their family dynamic. Rose came into the middle room, and Henry talked to her. Rose dumped her stuff unceremoniously at the end of her own bed. She was not as strong as Henry was, and her stuff had been heavy to carry. Setting them straight and pulling her pajamas out, she replied to him, her voice soft. It was obvious she was tired after the long day, but still was willing to talk to him. "Yeah. Trust me, you dodged a bullet there with Faith. She may be sweet, but she's mighty talkative. You would either not sleep at all or develop an extraordinary ability to tune her out," Rose said, smiling. Rose remembered when her and Faith and Jessica had been littler and the two of them would talk all night. Rose was now extremely talented at ignoring them, whether she meant to or not.

She nodded at his suggestion. "Good idea." She closed the door and locked it, then turned around to change, facing one wall while he faced the other. Once she had confirmed that they were both done, she unlocked the door and sat on her bed, which made a soft springy creaking sound.

She then paused. "Do you hear that?" She walked over to the windows, opening one up. You could smell fresh beach air, but you could also hear the waves crashing on the beach. "That was probably a silly question," she said softly, with a small laugh to herself, as an afterthought. Yes, of course Henry would have heard that. If Rose could have heard it, Henry could have definitely. She would look out and see the beach waves, coming up on the sand and then subsiding, a continuous, soothing cycle. It was dark out, so it was hard to make it out sometimes, but she could still see them. She closed the window, muffling the beach waves, though she could hear them still. That would probably help her go to sleep, to be honest.

She went back to her bed and got it ready for sleeping in. She didn't really understand why the beds needed so many pillows, and put most of them on the ground next to her bed. She folded the covers over so that she would be able to wiggle in when she was ready. But for now, she pulled out her own blanket and draped it over her shoulders, crossing her legs and sitting on her bed, pulling her hair down so that she could braid it for the night.

"How strange it is... all of this has gone so fast..." Rose said quietly.

Pajamas ~ Top | Bottom
Eccedentesiast. Noun. Meaning a person who hides their pain behind a smile.

Atelophobia. Noun. Meaning the feeling someone has that is the fear of never being good enough.

Solivagant. Adjective. Meaning someone who is wandering alone.

Innovert. Noun. Meaning someone who is quiet and needs time alone.

Thantophobia. Noun. Meaning is the phobia of losing someone you love.

Logophile. Noun. Meaning the lover of long words.

Psithurism. Noun. Meaning the sound that you hear when the wind blows through the trees.

Words. Thoughts. Voices. Circled through Henry Knight's mind as he sat there on the bed holding a pen and journal. Blue eyes aimed for the pages but mind traveling elsewhere.

That morning he was in England with his elder brother and orange feline; Loki. Close to his friends and the search for the Knights. For his twin sister. If she was in England still.

Now he was miles- a ocean away from everything he knew and everyone he cared for. In a strange country that he only read about in books and a larger family that he didn't know what to think about.

It was hard to imagine. It was hard to live through.

Rose spoke. Her words escaped her mouth. Henry didn't reply, he couldn't bring himself to. Henry let his blue eyes fall onto her. His close friend. His step sister. His sister.

It was hard to imagine. Last month they were friends, close ones at best. Who laughed with each other and others. Who smiled and played little childish games with each other and other friends.

Now. Now their siblings. Step siblings technically because their parents wanted to be together and married each other. And now their step siblings. Siblings.

Rose agreed with his suggestion for changing. Then once he saw he turn her back, Henry changed into his blue pajamas, they were long sleeved since majority of pajamas in Europe were made for the weather up there. Not the weather in the United states.

Henry waited for the girl to finish then would head back to his bed, setting his clothes in his suitcase. Pullimg off his trainers and setting them underneath the bed, leaving his socks on. Sitting in the center of the bed, pulling his journal and pen onto his lap but he wasn't writing. He was scanning the pages. Looking at his past writings, what he wrote already. The photos he stuck in the pages of his friends and occasionally him, he looked those over. It was strange looking at them. Looking at the memories.

The day before. Yesterday. Henry was forced to help pack the Liverpool house and take the boxes to Godric Hollow. To their new home.

Henry was mainly charged with packing up his room. His room was the room that he shared with his twin sister which meant he has to pack her stuff up as well. He had to go through he items and put it into boxes, remembering her again. Remembering old memories of them together. Remembering his promise to her. That he'll find her. Which he couldn't... how could he when he was stuck in American for a few weeks.

While packing, Henry came across a necklace. A simple one that belonged to his sister given to her by their mum. Annabeth rarely took it off, she was attached to the necklace especially after the attack. So why did she leave it?

The necklace now laid in on of the pages of Henry's journal, he was staring at it. Rubbing his fingers across the charm when Rose's voice piped up.

Her words asking about a sound. Henry look toward the window that she opened and listened, the crashing of the oceans current meeting the sandy shore. The white washed waves. The strong smell of the salty sea mixed with a certain fish smell stringing the tips of his nostril hairs. It was a strange smell... sensation but also a refreshing one. It was in a way a relaxing smell and noise to his ears. It almost could put on at ease. Almost.

Rose spoke again. Doubting her question. Henry would normally reassure her but couldn't. His mouth wouldn't open this time, it wouldn't allow him to produce the words that was spiraling around his mind.

Eyes drew back to the journal. The necklace. The writings. The pictures. The memories.

Each word, photo, and necklace has a memory attach. A memory of his friends. Logan. Cash. Scarlett. Paige. Aldor. Rose. Gia. Dakota. Each he saw so clearly within his mind, their face shining and words as clear as the crashing waves a few feet away. Memories of each played within his mind as well as memories of his twin sister and that familiar voice saying words be would have rather not heard. As usual.

Rose voice again. Talking about how everything moved so fast. How their lives changed within a few days. Now their old normal was no more and now... now everything would be different. But is different really that bad.

Henry looked at the necklace in the journal. He felt the multiple bracelets on his right matching one of his friends, the wolf necklace underneath his shirt with the gold rusted pendant. The voice in his head. So loud. So distracting. Spiraling around thoughts.

Henry took a breath.

They were in a pureblood beach house. Rose's family beach house. She probably wanted to explore, look around. See what was down corridors and cracks. See if anything was hidden by anything. Look at the view.

Henry never got a chance to look at the Alluring manor and explore so he wasn't going to deprived Rose of her moment to explore the Berntholds' beach house.

Henry took a breath. Closing the journal, leaving the necklace inside as he place it in front of him on the bed. The young teen looked over at Rose, green eyes meeting blue as he softly spoke" would you like to explore before tea- dinner?"

Henry was so quiet. Rose almost felt like she was being annoying, keeping to talk like this. She just wanted Henry to be okay, hoping there was something- anything- that she could say to snap him out of whatever this was. Or maybe this was just normal. If it was, did that mean Rose was a bad friend, not knowing what Henry could be like sometimes? Rose was torn on what to do from here. Her eyes watched Henry carefully, thoughts bouncing around in her head, picking up in speed.

Her hands braided her hair quickly and efficiently- her hands always seemed to need to do something when she was thinking so much. She tied the braid with an elastic. Braiding her hair had been a habit of Rose's ever since she was maybe ten. Rose's hair wasn't super duper curly, but its wavy curls and sleeping had not been a good combination, always ending up tangled in the morning. Sometimes she would do one, sometimes two, sometimes they were French or Dutch braids, but if Rose was going to sleep, she was braiding her hair first. It was part of her sleeping routine, and calmed her down. Once she finished, Henry asked about exploring.

Rose's eyes lit up a little. She had wanted to explore, see if there was anything else to find around here. "Sure," she said, sliding off her bed and leaving her blanket on the bed designated as hers. The two of them didn't do so much as touch the doors that led to their siblings' rooms, but there was a bathroom that Rose was sure was about to be bickered over, and the master bedroom. They only peeked in the bathroom a little bit, but it wasn't too exciting- a shower and a tub and a toilet and two sinks. The two of them went downstairs, looking around the living room and the kitchen, appreciating the decor and becoming more familiar with the space.

There just seemed to be something missing about all this... Rose didn't know what it was, but she just felt kind of... empty. That's when she realized- she missed Chaska. Rose's cat, Chaska, loved to explore. She loved to find new things. Rose missed the feel of her fur in her arms and the sound of her meowing to get Rose's attention. She missed Chaska's presence. She wanted to scoop the floof up into her arms and hold her tight. But she wasn't here. She wouldn't be sleeping with Rose. She wouldn't be batting at the waves. She wasn't here. Rose's heart fell. She hoped Chaska was doing okay at Arthur's house with Loki and Arthur's roommates. Maybe she was being annoying. Maybe she was being well behaved. Or, maybe, she was just terrified and alone and closed off. Rose shivered a little, suddenly cold and lonely. She thought about telling Henry, but he probably knew, and it would kind of be pathetic to say it out loud. She didn't want to keep being so annoying with all her words.

There didn't seem to be much to explore, at first. But, in the entryway, if you went back instead of going upstairs or to the left or right, there were two doors. One led to a laundry room (boring) and one led down a tight spiral staircase. It opened up into a medium-sized basement room with a piano. It was a little colder down there than the rest of the house, for whatever reason, but Rose took a couple strides up to the piano and played a little tune that Henry had taught her, only for a couple of seconds.

"The piano's in tune," she pointed out, a little surprised. "I wonder if Margerie even knows if it's here." Who would have played it? Was it magicked into not ever falling out of tune? Rose didn't think anyone had been to the beach house in a long time. Apparently she was wrong.

She agreed, he expected her to. If the teen thought of the Alluring manor, the grand entryway and large grassy grounds with a garden. The dark exterior and grand double staircase then the dining room, a large narrow table surrounded by multiple black leather chairs. That was it. He couldn't remember anything else, there were loads of rooms and there was all he covid remember because that was all he saw before.... before they left.

Henry followed Rose out their room, sliding his hands into his pajama pant pockets as they looked around the floor they were all. The doors that led to their step siblings rooms, both contained noise that was louder than expected for the time it was. The master bedroom door then the bathroom door.

Out of curiosity, Henry casually peeked in after Rose. A toilet, shower, sink- nothing different or mildy interesting however the teen is a extremely early riser, mainly because of his fury secret, night terrors, and insomnia occasionally nights. So getting to the bathroom as one of the first and avoiding interactions or conflicts won't be that much of a problem for the teen.

Henry followed Rose downstairs, walked though the entryway and toward the living room and kitchen. It was different than what he was use to but didn't say much, his thoughts kept him busy since they were screaming and spiraling around his mind. However his emotions remained hidden behind the 'barrier' only a small, soft smile was present.

Henry followed the red head past the staircase,
down the hall toward the laundry room as the teen boy thought, reflect, experienced words and thoughts spiraling around his mind.

He was alone- well not technically but everything and nearly everyone he knew and spent years with was a ocean away. In a different country and different timezone for the next two weeks.

He spent time away from his elder brother before hit not like this, he was in a different country that was a ocean away and in different timezones making owls impossible and phone calls difficult between the two. He felt isolated and disconnected from his brother- his best friend before his two best friends he met at Hogwarts. He missed him.

His friends who he spent days with smiling and hanging out with at Hogwarts, he won't be able to send them owls for to weeks and a few of them didn't have muggle communications or he didn't know what they were. His quill pal for example who he wouldn't be able to wirte to for nearly a month...

Loki. His orange feline. Wasn't by his side, wasn't there to push him into social situations or remind him to relax or have fun. The feline felt like a opposite and occasionally was hard to manage wiru his trust issues but was a part of him, it even the teen out which was he did for the feline as well. They were a pair- a whole and apart only a half. The teen missed his feline mate. He felt odd without him and like he lost his half all over again... he felt like he lost his twin on over again.

Annabeth. His twin sister. They were twins, they shared a connection or was suppose to. They shared memories between each other and one each other differently than how others knew them. They were twins. Most couldn't understand their relationship. And yet most of Hogwarts would never guess that he was a twin struggling with the recent disappearance of his twin- of his other half.

Henry followed Rose past the laundry room, down a tight spiral staircase to a basement. It was dark and cold which was odd seeing how hot the environment has been so far. There wasn't much there to see, squinting his eyes and looking around he spotted a light switch.

The teen walked to the wall that contained the light switch and flipped it on, the place was flooded with a dim basement type of lightly. It wasn't bright but at least they could see a bit.

Henry heard a note on the piano, turning to it and Rose sitting at the piano. He listened to her voice and words, walking toward her as he nodded to her words.

The teen took a seat on the edge of the bench on the left next to Rose as he spoke" who knows, most purebloods learn to play so that could explain why its here but why is it in a basement instead if a family room or something," the teen placed his left hand on the piano and played a short beginning verse to the song; Fur Elise.

The teen played for a few years, stating when he was six because of his parents who wanted their children to learn at least one instrument and practice it as a way to expand their mind. When their mum died, their father had them pick up more.

Henry shot a playful smile toward Rose and played five notes that sounded like action music, a suggestion to see if she wanted to have a little piano music duel between the two... he assumed they had time before tea- dinner. He would try to use American words for the next two weeks it shouldn't be that difficult.... right?

Rose was not one to turn down some exploring. Most of her time in her first year had been spent exploring, if she wasn't in classes, doing homework, or reading. Rose would get lost in the castle many times that she had been exploring, but she could eventually find her way back. There was no way that Rose knew every single nook and cranny around Hogwarts by now, even though she had been there two whole years, but she had devised a map in her brain and she was able to get pretty much anywhere she wanted to go, as long as the moving staircases approved. The feeling of exploring had just been so pleasing to Rose. It caused her to find some of her favorite places in the castle. She liked standing on the bridge and overlooking the lake. She liked the back corner of the library that almost nobody ever found her there. She liked the spot by the lake where she could see a beautiful view of the castle. And she never would have found those spots if she hadn't been exploring so much. There was just a joy and a wonder that came with exploring, finding new places. And some days she really needed that joy and wonder, to take her mind off things, especially now. Rose hoped she never ran out of things to explore.

Rose had been to America before, but she knew Henry hadn't. Henry had practically been ripped away from everything he knew, thrust into a new family with an extra guardian that he didn't even know.

Rose, over her life, had learned not to rely on others, inwardly scared that they would just leave her anyway. She decided not to put her trust in others, and so she was okay being away from everything she knew. She viewed life as something that she did by herself, and other people came in and out. She saw this America trip as an adventure, something new and exciting to try. Rose didn't live her life exactly needing anybody at any point in time. She could probably live by herself at this point, to be honest. She didn't need her mother. And even though her siblings were always there, she didn't need them either. She didn't need Henry or Scarlett or Aldor or anybody. Alina, Aurelia, her father, and her dad's entire side of the family had already left her. Of course, she still needed people. She needed them eventually. But she never really needed anybody now, at the current moment.

But Henry was away from everybody he knew. She didn't know his status on needing people, but she knew that he probably missed people back in the United Kingdom more than she did.

That's why she seemed so happy to see the piano downstairs. There was always a gleam of light. She smiled at the piano, running her fingers over the keys. Henry sat down at the bench and Rose made room for the both of them to sit together, equally sharing the piano bench. Rose nodded at his comment about purebloods learning piano. It was common. Rose knew her mother and her aunt knew piano, but didn't know about Margerie. She hadn't thought that people had been here in a long time, but the piano was still very well tuned anyway. Henry wondered about why it was down here and not up in a common space. Rose shrugged. "I dunno," she said quietly. It was definitely a thing to wonder about.

Rose raised her eyebrows as Henry seemed to challenge her to a music battle. She gave him a look that said, "Oho, you dare challenge me?" It was more of a sarcastic look than a serious look, meant to make him smile a little. She accepted his challenge by playing six notes that seemed to go with his own five.

Henry smiled toward Rose glance and five notes that followed his, the young teen decided to use one hand only.

His choosen hand was his right, even through he was left handed the boy was rather strong with his right when it came to musical instruments it was odd...

The teen took a breath then with one hand played a concoction of a total of 7 notes ranging from high to low with one hand, the music started off light and free. Almost like someone running in a field on a summer day, smiling and racing around with their friends soaking in the rays. Then the music took a transition into a low and much more darker sound, almost like a thunder storm starting to roll in. Or the sound of pain, of loneliness, or someone hiding away in the dark longing to come out but can't.

The teen played the seven notes once, not meaning to have his hand in a perfect form as he played but that was now he was taught and some lessons are hard to shake.

The teen took his hand from the piano and smiled a little told Rose, nudging her lightly on the side as he looked over at the piano curious on what she would play next and also wondering what he would play next.

The location of the piano spiraled around his mind but also about the time of supp- dinner would be. Henry questioned if they would be late or if someone would call them up when it would be ready.

The young teen tried not to imagine or think about those thoughts or and of the others spiraling around his mind, no. Instead he tried to focus on Rose and their little piano competition as he waited for Rose's note. Curious to what she would play.

However another thought struck him. Could the others hear them? Were the rooms spindly proof or could they hear them play the piano although the house. Suddenly the teen felt his thoughts spiral around his mind and anxiety loom over his head as he worried if the others could hear them. If Rose's great or great great aunt was it? If she could hear them wherever she happened to be or if their siblings could hear....

Rose smirked a little at their battle. She played a few more notes with a dramatic feel to their order and rhythm.

She decided to make a little conversation between the two of them, mostly to see if Henry was up to it. He had talked a little bit since it had just been the two of them, at least much more than the airport and plane ride, and she had a feeling in the back of her mind that he wasn't okay. She hated that, and she wanted to make him feel better in any way that she could. Rose would literally and figuratively bend over backwards to make him feel better. The thought of him not being okay was automatically so much worse than whatever exertion that she would end up putting herself through in order to make him feel better. Whether that was talking to him, paying close attention, doing hundreds of little things, or moving mountains, Rose would do her absolute best to make Henry as comfortable as she could make him.

What if her best wasn't good enough? Rose hid the sinking feeling in her stomach from her brother, but she couldn't ignore it. What if he would just always be in pain and not okay and uncomfortable around her family and there was nothing she could do because of how weak she was? What if she couldn't protect him? Rose knew that Henry was always strong enough to take care of himself, just as she was, but that didn't mean that he should. Maybe Rose wanted to give him a helping hand every once in a while. Well, that wasn't exactly true. She did want to give him a helping hand often, but what she really wanted was to shelter him from everything that could hurt him. Everything that had hurt him and would hurt him and was hurting him. She wanted to block all that out from his life because she couldn't bear to see him hurt.

He was her brother.

"What should we do tomorrow?" she prompted him. Looking ahead, looking forward, instead of behind her, was the easiest thing to do in most situations. Shut all of the past out and hope for the best. Rose was going to make the best of this beach trip with her siblings and her great aunt, and even though she didn't like why she was on this beach trip, she could find some happiness in it somewhere, right?

Henry softly smiled at the notes she played before placing his left hand on the piano once more and going from low to high, playing certain notes in the row so they flowed together.

The piece took only a few seconds to play as the teen moved his eyes from the instrument to Rose curious what the girl would play next. While their competition was fun, Henry worried if the others above could hear them and if they were annoyed by the instrument wondering if they should stop and go back upstairs after all supper should be ready soon.

The teen was about to suggest this to Rose when he heard her words. What to do tomorrow? What will happen the next day? Questions, questions about his works spent in american spiraled around his mind. For a moment the teen forgot where he was, which is quite the achievement since he has a amazing photographic long term memory but for a moment he forget he was in American. He forgot he was a ocean away from his elder brother and orange feline and missing twin sister....

For a moment he forgot that he was in a strange new world by himself

Only he wasn't alone, except the teen didn't realize the fact at the current moment as he looked over at Rose. Blue eyes connecting with Green. It was strange for her to now be his sister instead of just a friend or a close one, it still felt strange. All of this felt strange- unreal yet it was reality and Rose is his sister.

"No idea," Henry replied eyes glistening over the instrument as his thoughts spiraled around his mind, creating situations that he would have not preferred to imagine and allowing his anxiety to hover over his head. However this couldn't be seen, he kept it hidden from everyone- from Rose along wiry the rest of his emotions so only a soft smile could be seen.

Henry didn't want the girl to worry about him, it was his responsibly to worry and protect her wasn't it? The teen never technically had a younger sibling, Annabeth is a few minutes younger than him but still his twin is she didn't count. While Arthur is his elder brother, he was the one who cared and protected Henry allowing the teen to see the responsibilities of older siblings.

Now he technically had younger siblings so it was his responsibly to protect and care for them, wasn't it? The teen at times felt a surge like he was suppose to, Rose was counting was one of the younger siblings who he had to protect and care for and help through the years even if she is only a few months younger.

Henry looked at the stairs leading up to the rest of the house before moving his eyes back toward Rose as he spoke" shall we go get supper then plan tomorrow, tomorrow?"
