Quidditch practices had apparently been helping Atlas’ aim throughout the year as she watched her tomato perfectly collide with the side of Ethen’s head. Even over the commotion of the battle, she could hear the satisfying squish as her shot exploded over him coating her comrade in a red paste. Pursing her lips together to stop from laughing, Atlas quickly lost that internal battle as a burst of boisterous laughter bellied out of her, causing her to keel over as she held her stomach.

In true dramatic fashion, Ethen fell to his knees, his eyes drowning in comical disbelief as Atlas responded by playfully sticking out her tongue. Despite his pitiful display, Atlas knew she didn’t have much time before Ethen would surely retaliate as she quickly turned around running to the nearest barrel nearly slipping on the tomato-coated grass. Pulling out a large water balloon, the young girl grimaced that it wasn’t a juicy tomato but she wouldn’t have time to run to another barrel just yet.

Turning back to Ethen, Atlas called out, hoping to rile him more, “This outta clean you up!” As she readied her shot she saw Ethen’s rebuttal sailing towards her as she let the water balloon loose from her fingertips and straight for him.

Should her next attack hit her prior ally she would need to make her way to a barrel of tomatoes as water balloons just did not give the same oomph. She had seen other students around her strategically taking cover but it was never in Atlas’ repertoire to hide from battle. She was a Lieutenant after all and she knew she would have tomato stains to prove it by the end.

As the battle continued, tomatoes and balloons continued to fly. There were even those who decided they would begin to take their safety a bit more seriously with some attempts to dodge the flying munitions. It had quickly become clear that no one was safe from attack. Even those who had been battered were not safe from the maniacal children. The field itself was quickly becoming a mess of tomatoes and ruptured water balloons. The spread of carnage was swift and each combatant only seemed to be growing hungrier for bloodshed...or at least tomatoshed?
@Eliseo Céspedes Attacking Greta Fransson @Evelynn Decipio- Success
Darting over the field and strategically weaving to avoid any potential attackers, Greta looked invulnerable to any potential attackers. Eliseo thought he was up for such a challenge and launched a tomato in the air for the girl. The poor unlucky Greta, however, took a wrong step and slipped on a discarded tomato that sent her falling to the ground where Eliseo’s tomato fell from the sky and landed right on Greta’s shoulder and exploded, splattering tomato juice on her.
Charles Alluring @Henry Knight Attacking @Starlee Kennedy - Failure
It seemed that Charles was out on the hunt! Would he be successful? Only time would tell and perhaps his madness would bring him success. His sight had set on the elusive Starlee who seemed determined to defend herself from further tomato goop. As Charles launched his attack Starlee proved too swift for his skills and easily ducked under the tomato which splattered across the grass behind her. The dodge was executed with perfection and made Charles' attempted attack look quite horrendous! With a failed attack, would Charles now fear for his life? His fate seemed to be in the hands of the seemingly invincible Starlee.
@Scarlett Aden making a ‘hella lit’ attack at Cassandra Ironwoods- Success
After a successful yeeting, it appeared that the young Scarlett was out to coat anyone and everyone in tomato guts. So then it happened. Scarlett locked eyes on Cassandra and with some epic swag, she made a hella lit throw. It was a yeeted tomato that youths everywhere would dab it up for. It was a beautifully lit throw that like totally slammed right into the side of Cassandra’s head, no cap. Tomato juice sprayed all over the distracted Cassandra and I doubt that she would find her new coat of tomato juice very hashtag gucci, as the kids say.
@Cassandra Ironwoods yeet attacking Starlee Kennedy- Success
Just before getting obliterated by Scarlett’s tomato, Cassandra was on a hunt of her own for swag points. She saw the hella lit movements of Starlee as she danced away from an attacker and seemed to think she would have better luck with the legendary yeet water balloon throw. Could Starlee again dance away from the yeeted balloon? Unfortunately not...Still distracted by the first dodge, she only saw the balloon when it was too late. It slammed into Starlee’s chest and drenched the girl in frigid water.
@Ethen Emrys Attacking Atlas Reid - Success
Still reeling from the betrayal, it seemed that Ethen had decided to make the full transition from lovers to enemies. After a dramatic collapse, Ethen launched a tomato at the girl that had once been his girlfriend. Even with Ethen’s dramatics, it seemed that his arm held true for a second time and he launched a particularly squishy tomato right into the left shoulder of Atlas. The tomato erupted into a mess of tomato guts and juice that quickly coated the young girl.
@Atlas Reid Attacking Ethen Emrys- Success
Not wanting to let her victim breath, it seemed that Atlas was fully committed to her betrayal and destruction of the poor young Ethen. Armed with a water balloon and a determination to clean the likely smelly monkey boy. Atlas chucked her weapon just as Ethen threw his. While the tomato exploded on her, she at least got to watch her water balloon smack directly into the center of Ethen’s forehead giving him a cold makeshift shower.
@Isaac Lee Shu Hui Warning Shot at @Howard White - Success
The young Isaac seemed like a true expert on the battlefield. Waiting to see how the battle would begin, Isaac also seemed to have a keen mind for honor. Calling out and challenging the great master Howard White, Isaac launched a water balloon warning shot towards the older boy. It was a perfectly thrown shot. A fantastic arc and considerable speed. It would have made for a great warning shot if Howard hadn’t been standing directly in its path. The balloon careened into Howard’s unsuspecting head. On the plus side...at least Howard would definitely be warned of his new attacker now.
@Zoë Fresnel attacking @Caradoc Browne - Success
Caradoc was having a rough go of it on the field of battle. Students and staff alike seemed to have it out for old man Browne. Perhaps he looked frail and vulnerable to them? Or maybe they just saw him as some evil entity… It was hard to tell. But the esteemed and fashionable Charms professor seemed to share in that vendetta against the man. Still covered and recovering from the first batch of tomato attacks, Caradoc hadn’t even had a chance to see Zoë’s attack. Her tomato exploded on the man’s chest only adding to the suit of tomato goop already dripping from him.
@Cosmo Keith Attacking Scarlett Aden - Success
Attacking the distracted and vulnerable was always a good way to land a shot. It seemed that the young Cosmo was looking for just that type of opportunity. With a turned back, Scarlett had no chance of seeing the sneaky approach of Cosmo. Like a vicious and mischievous pitcher, Cosmo launched a tomato right into Scarlett’s back. The splatter sprayed chunks of red goop into Scarlett’s hair as a nice garnishment.

Panic spread across Starlee's face when she saw Charles aim at her. No way was she about to let this boy cover her in tomato goop! She managed to dodge the incoming tomato and a wide grin spread across her face. "Ha! Missed me!" she teased. "Might want to work on your aimmmm~" she continued in a sing-song tone, not realizing that Cash had decided to team up with him, as she didn't speak enough Spanish to completely understand, and that there was danger incoming - fast.

Caught up in her excitement and teasing, she completely missed Cash coming in for the metaphorical water-balloon kill. Starlee turned to face them and as she did so, a water balloon collided hard into her chest. "EEP!" she yelled as the freezing cold water splashed all over her shirt, running down onto her jeans. Her yelp quickly turned into a fit of laughter. "I can't believe you teamed up against me Cash!" She told the beater while still trying to manage her laughter. When her laughing began to subside, she looked at the beater with her trademark puppy-dog eyes, saying "How could you Cash? C'mon, why don't you turn on your friend over there and we will give him a double-whammy?" Her puppy dog eyes look turned into a sly grin, as she turned to hurl a tomato at Charles.

Aim. Release. Fire. And Miss?

Charles stared at what he did. His tomato missed. Missed. His throw actually missed, that was odd usually he always made his throws and now was staring at his miss. The chaser bit his bottom lip and armed himself with another tomatoe just as the blonde's voice rang in his ears.

" I missed or distracted you from their water balloon hitting you," Charles smirked and took aim just as Aden's tomatoe landed on his new found partner. Charles smirked and eyed Cash, switching to Spanish as he spoke" two at the blonde then two at Scarlett," Charles suggested as he aimed for the blonde haired girl. Determined not to miss his target again as he took aim. Feeling the ripped tomato in his grip, reading to throw.

"Ready Partner? Let's soak her off the field," Charles smirked to Cash in Spanish then with all of his strength which was quite a lot throw the tomatoe at the blonde but the throw wasn't exactly just a throw. It was more of what muggles called a yeet. That's right pureblood Dumstrang casher Charles Nako Alluring was yeeting a big ripe tomato at Starlee Kennedy. This time he won't miss at least he thought he won't.

"AH HA!! Howard pumped his now tomato-less fist into the air to celebrate his victory as the fruit splattered against the back of Quinn. The heat of battle was turning up as both tomato and balloon filled the air. The mixture of fun and adrenaline fueled his action as his red eyes scanned the field for his next victim. Through heightened senses and Quidditch training his accuracy had become deadly and it wouldn't take long for him to retrieve another tomato.

SPLAT

Apparently someone was ready to give Howard an earful...an earful of tomato!! He would spin on the spot as he searched for his attacker. Game on! Whoever it may be was going down! Serena's voice would reach his one unclogged ear as she made her taunt. "Not a chance Towers!!" Howard raised his arm, took a step forward as he prepared to launch a tomato her way, but just before his release another would zip dangerously close to his face.

Heads up!

The verbal warning marked a challenge. One he could never deny. He had been singled out. A duel had been called. Only one would leave the field alive! "It's your lucky day Serena!" He called to the part Goblin before sizing up this newcomer. "I accept!" Howard entered the duel. "Ten paces! Then Fire!" He would turn his back towards the first year and begin his pacing.

It seemed that her attack and dodge tactic was effective. Despite having landed an attack on Theo, the boy seemed not to have spotted her or attempted a counter-attack. Good. Perhaps she might even be able to continue with this little strategy. However unfortunate for him, he had a very prominent figurative target painted upon his back due to the sole reasoning of being one of the only familiar individuals in the area. His reaction to attacks were far more interesting to her than those of strangers. And perhaps... perhaps... she might be projecting some frustrations. Just a touch.

Her plans would not go quite as seamlessly as she might have liked, however. As swift as a doe and lithe as a spirit of the forest as she might have been even in her layers of patchwork skirts, the plethora of tomato projectiles made for haphazard foundations. An unfortunate step saw her stepping directly upon the husk of a fallen tomato. It squished beneath her sandal, its juicy body squelching and gushing out to splatter her opposite ankle. Then promptly slipping against itself as her weight fell upon it.

"Eep!" Inhaling sharply, eyes widening with surprise, Greta attempted—unsuccessfully—to catch her footing. In an instant, the ground came rushing up at her as her foot went flying out behind with the assailingly slippery fruit. Unable to catch her fall in time, she had no other choice but to slam her hands out to break her fall. With a groan, air expelled under the weight of her fall, and she grimaced as the tomatoes in her hands crushed, gushing their inners through her fingers.

Then, to add insult to injury, a sudden explosion of juice and guts riquocheted against her shoulder, eliciting from her a surprised shriek. Spinning her head about, she half expected to see Theo having finally taken advantage of her misfortune. Not so. But neither could she quite make out exactly who had attacked. Nobody immediately nearby anyway. Nevermind. Staying there on her knees left her as a sitting duck. Pushing herself up, she wiped her face on a sleep and hopped up to her feet, ducking and darting all over again to dissuade a follow up attack.

As she did, she took a random pop shot at someone else (Charles), taking advantage of their distraction. She hadn't any idea of who they were, nor did she stick around long. Just enough to see if her attack had landed and their expression before darting off again in search of Theo whom she'd lost in the chaos of her fall.

Something hit the back of his head. Theo could hear it. And feel it. And then he could hear it fall onto the floor. Wh- Was that... The Thunderbird reached to the back of his head and pulled a slightly disgusted face when he felt something in his hair that was definitely no water. "Ew..."

Well, that was something he should have expected, especially if he was as good looking as that little Hogwarts girl from truth or dare had found. What? Wasn't it like that? The best looking ones always get targeted first? Oh... by whom, by the way? A little too late, Theo turned to look for whoever threw the tomato at him and picked one up as well.

It was the noise of someone falling that drew his attention to the person he immediately decided to be his next target. Whether she had thrown the last tomato or not. If she had, she would surely expect a counter attack so Theo quickly turned away, pretending to aim for one of the other players until she got up and back into hiding.

It was his turn to surprise her, Theo decided and left his position to find a spot somewhere hidden between the others and out of Greta's view. He saw the Durmstrang girl throw at another boy and then run off again. Only after a few steps, Theo would throw a tomato after her.

The campground was an absolute bloodbath. Tomatoes and water balloons flew back and forth; screaming, shouting, cursing and taunting could be heard from all sides. Avery smiled. It was exactly what he thought it would be, and he was not disappointed. Never in his young life had he had the option to witness and possibly even take part in something so wild, so free! Dressed in a plain dark t-shirt and shorts, he felt ready for anything.

He was so glad that he invited Ming to come to the event with him. It took a bit of prodding and encouragement, but here they were to "just check it out". Yes, that's how he explained it. It sounded a little less threatening that way... And he imagined that was the only way he could've gotten his Inferi of a friend to approach this event.

He approached the edges of the battle, scanning the boundaries for any sign of his friend, who was likely coming from his own cabin. The small boy side-stepped a rogue flying tomato, and watched as it spattered juicily a few feet away on the grass. The satisfaction of seeing the oozing red liquid pooling onto the lush green grass was hard to describe.

He thought he spotted a bespectacled East Asian boy on the outskirts of the bloodbath, and ran to approach him. "Ming!" he called, waving. "Well, what do you think?" he lifted both arms towards the fray, as if proudly showing off a work of art that he created himself.

Hui Ming entered the riot allotted grounds with a look of contempt of their faces. It was choas, plain and simple. No order, no plan, no objective. Why people would indulge in this wanton savagery was beyond him.

"These people are all stupid eggs, is the reason," the bespectacled Chinese boy answered himself bitterly. Why he allowed Mr. Avery to drag him into these situations, was beyond him. He knew this would not end well. It could not possibly end well, and he recognized that that exactly had been the point of the event.

For all the disdain at these lowly, uncivilized and openly barbaric behaviors put on display by the students (and even some of the teachers! How positively unrefined! At least Professor Iwasaki, the one who represented his cabin, was not here making a fool of himself.), for all the knowledge that this was beneath him, for all that he knew that he would not be caught dead partaking - he could not, with his standing - Ming just could not keep himself away.

And so here was Hui Ming, pre-first year, clad in a spotless white T-shirt and running pants. Carefully avoiding splattered tomatoes and spent water balloons that littered the grounds, and dodging the few stray projectiles that were being sent his way with surprising nimbleness, he made his way over to his first friend in the magical world.
"Ming! Well, what do you think?"
At the question posed to him, the bespectacled boy tilted his head, running his eyes once more over the reign of utter and complete anarchy around him in contemplation. What did he think? It was horrid, and pointless. It was reckless and stupid and wild. It was the kind of thing that should scandalize any person of good manners and breeding, who had even an ounce of dignity in the entirety of their being. But his could not wretch away his gaze, caught up as he was by the sight in front of him in morbid fascination.

It took several seconds for Ming to be able to pull himself out of his daze and find himself behind his courtesies. He sniffed almost dismissively, then.

"It is about what you'd expect from these situations, isn't it Mr. Avery?" He said finally to his companion, his tone not quite as dismissive of this entire fiasco as he would have preferred. "Rampant, pointless, chaos."

The curtains fell. And the silence was deafening

Summer Camp The Great Tomato War Closed
He basked for a few moments in the glorious display of carnage as Ming took a few seconds to find some words that could possibly describe the situation they were witnessing. Even from a distance, Avery could tell that Ming was clearly not a big fan of this blatant display of savagery. But this was the biggest event of the month (at least in Avery's eyes), and there was no way Avery was going to let his first friend at Hogwarts miss out on such a thrilling event in their Hogwarts saga and regret it on his deathbed.

"It is about what you'd expect from these situations, isn't it Mr. Avery?" Ming finally said, his tone surprisingly more level and objective than contemptuous of the whole lot. "Rampant, pointless, chaos." Okay, that sounded a bit more like Ming, but something tickled him as he remembered Ming's first comment. "Stop it with the 'Mr. Avery', Ming! I'm just plain old smelly Avery Chen, remember? I don't call you 'Mr. Ming' so just 'Avery' would do," he said, waving it off, not realizing that he'd never actually given Ming his last name when he first introduced himself. "So when I hear 'Mr. Avery', I just get horrible flashbacks from when I came into your compartment," he explained, rolling his eyes dramatically. He was so ready to put Ming's condescending dad-tone behind him, but somehow he was still sure that he would be hearing more of it today.

Avery noticed that they were standing just a meter or so away from a large basket of tomatoes and water balloons, and his gaze shifted to the voluminous, bulbous jewels. There was something so intriguing about the way that the balloons wobbled, as if about to gush -- and those tomatoes, red, bright, and ripe, as if asking to burst in a splash of color. Entranced, he slowly walked towards the basket, as if the jewels were calling out to him softly, and picked out the largest, ripest tomato, feeling the weight in his hands.

All of a sudden, he turned and looked at Ming and his white canvas of a shirt with a fiendish smile upon his small face. With a deft snap of the arm, he whipped the bulging tomato at Ming's fresh shirt, hoping to make a splash of art.
