He knew the name of the instrument now, which was useful. He was continually pleased when Kazuo said he knew the tune. Flash worried a bit that his knowledge would not match his peers', most of what he was surrounded by was things his much older siblings enjoyed and shared. At his last boarding school, he did not have many friends. It was really only his football team, and they only spent time in practice runs and victory celebrations. He had his own taste, he liked music enough to explore it when he could, but his avenues for discovery were not the radio, but rather local shows in small venues.

He hadn't realized how out-of-touch he was until no one started singing along. Not that it needed it-- the tune was lovely on its own as a mellow in-between while others got drawn in by the sounds of strings. Given that there were no electronics available in school, popular music was not a common topic with his new acquaintances. This experience could double as a gauge for what kinds of music his peers enjoy, though who knew what kind of population sample would surround them. He'd not be suggesting any more songs any time soon, that was for sure.

He was glad that the little incident with the Talent Show during his first year had been swept under the rug. He would have hated to have been put on the spot like Kazuo did to Santario. At the very least, she obliged, meaning she must have been a lot more self-assured than Flash was. He didn't like being vulnerable to strangers, no matter what his voice sounded like. No amount of boldness in his other actions would make him less insecure, he didn't like when people had reactions to him that he couldn't control.

He wouldn't mind joining in a chorus though, bolstering the voices of many was ideal. Ruka joined, seeming close with Kazuo. Others flocked to the fire as well, the warmth of the gathering growing with excited, smiling faces. After two of the newcomers sang a duo, Santario sang as well after even more goading from a second boy at the fire. She was blushing, perhaps this bordered on coercion, yet she didn't really push back against it. When he heard the song she suggested, he was surprised to recognize it. He had no clue what the two younger students had been singing and figured he'd be remaining in that state for the duration.

With that, Flash had the opportunity to rally the troops. Once she was a line or two in and he understood the tempo and pitch she was going for, he joined in with her song. More voices would make it easier on her as well perhaps a few faceless NPCs, though it wasn't like she had a voice that needed covering up. Solidarity, instead. The whole group was clearly enthusiastic about music, so he didn't expect they would need much goading on. "... dream a little dream of me...

It was a bit embarrassing to be singing about kissing when Ruka was present, but they had both put that 'event' behind them. To Flash, it didn't count anymore. It hadn't been intentional, so it may as well have not happened. In that vein though, the song was bittersweet. He figured it would be a long time before he could feel the kind of love and joy the songwriter felt. He had dated Anastasia Beckett for almost an entire year and had never felt anything close to the kind of longing and desire described in the song. No need to dwell on that when he was currently having a good time, though. Maybe he was just too young to understand, that's what his mother would say.

Not having any other reasonable suggestions, even though Kazuo seemed quite well-versed, Flash simply waited for another song, in hopes it was one he knew the words to. Even as it was, the light mood was infectious. This was nice.

Kazuo gave Ruka a brief smile when he noticed the older boy taking a seat near him, then chuckled when Haven announced her presence with a kazoo, giving her an encouraging smile and a quick wave. Another couple of students he didn’t know joined in, singing along but with different lyrics. He frowned a bit, unsure of what they were doing, finding it interesting. As the song came to an end, he smirked at Santario when she responded to his request that she sing. He’d enjoyed her performance at the Trials and was quite happy to hear her sing again.

“I don’t… but I should be able to catch on to the rhythm once you start singing…” Kazuo admitted. As she began to sing, he tilted his head a bit and tapped his foot to match the rhythm she set. He started out a bit hesitant but once he’d gotten a sense for the rhythm, his accompaniment smoothed out. He had a good ear for music, was better at picking up tunes than he was at reading sheet music, so it didn’t take too long. It was how he had learned to play much of the modern music he enjoyed playing. He noted that Flash had joined in with Santario on this one and it made him smile, happy that more people were singing.

As the song came to its end, he plucked a few notes, considering what to play next. His first song had been more modern while the last couple were older and a bit on the slower side. Maybe another newer song? Something upbeat? He smiled then, looking around at the gathered students. Surely they’d know the song that had come to mind… it had been very popular on its release.

“I think everyone should know this one…” He spoke as he began to pluck the first few notes. “Unless you live under a rock…” He added with a grin. This was a song he knew the lyrics to so he added his voice to the shamisen, doing his best to ignore the self-consciousness that came from singing the English words.

Thursday August 15th 2021 Evening At the Campfire

As the hours passed by, a lot of people decided to gathered around the campfire. Cash ended the song on a good note and Flash clapped his hand after the first song was ended. Flash also requested another song from Kazuo that Cash recognize the song title but not the melody. "Thank you"The green eyes said their gratitude after both Kazuo and Santario said what the soon to be second and third year done were lovely.

The young Ironwoods listened to the brief explanation behind the instrument that Kazuo decided to play this night. "It is so nice that you decided to bring a bit of your culture to us. Thank you for sharing that"The beater said to Kazuo. Cash always respected to the people who deep rooted in their culture and history.

Then Kazuo asked whether Santario would like to sing or not in this little get together. Cash never heard the other girl sang before but if Kazuo said 'again' in his words, then the raven haired girl does have a nice voice. More and more people show up. Cash almost get up and leave when they saw Winter and a boy they never see before entered the campfire.

It not Cash had a problem with the other boy. Rather than with the pale kid (Winter) but Cash must say for a person who has stuttering issues, Winter 's voice and the other boy complimenting each other. It is so nice to see a bond years of friendship in front of their very eyes. A bond that Cash wished to have with someone else.

It does not need much of coaxing from Kazuo to Santario. As Winter and the other boy finished their impromptu, it is time for the other girl stepped into the light. She told Kazuo to played along as she sang. The song that Santario has chose put a smile on the green eyes' lips. They heard the song multiple time around the Ironwoods Manor because it is one of their mother favorite song to sing.

With the fire softly crackling on the background and the smooth sound of Santario's make this moment more peaceful. The beater closed their eyes and swayed their body as the gentle voice of Santario's lulled them more into the serenity that they green were eyes in. They waited for awhile until the last not of the song came out from Santario's lips.

They opened their eyes and looked at the raven girl. Cash gave a soft clapped at Santario's beautiful yet simple performance. "Your voice quite lovely too"They told Santario. Another voice greeted the young socialite ears as he also gave his own compliment towards the raven girl. The curly - haired boy known as Charles greeted the soon to be third year in Spanish.

And Cash gave the same greeting to Charles in Spanish. It seems Charles know the other boy. Cash then looked at Charles and Xeno. "I second that. You do have a beautiful voice"They said to the younger boy and completely ignored Winter. Not because out of malice but because Cash had nothing to say to the white haired girl.

After all the other people showcasing their musical and vocal chaps, Kazuo decided to start a new song. The Beater know the song but not well verse with the lyrics of the song itself. This time around Cash took a step back, let Kazuo and the other sang along to the song that Hufflepuff chose. So far Cash enjoyed how this little sing along turned up.

When Flash joined in, Santario would have opened her eyes and smiled at him as they continued with Kaz’s playing behind them. “Thank you for joining, Flash, you have a great voice” Santario figured he wasn’t entirely used to singing, but she thought he should reconsider. Another boy, one she had met last winter, crossed her path. What was his name again? It escaped her. All she remembered was saving him from his family before not really seeing each other again. Both he and Cash complimented her, and she returned a kind smile. “Thank you very much.”

Just then, Aleksander leaned down and whispered something into her ear. She looked a little surprised when he pulled away from her, and she nodded. “Yeah, I’ll see you back at the cabin.” With that, the boy would stand and take his leave of the group. As Kaz started to play the new song, it took her a moment to catch on as she had only heard it once or twice while her cousin was at the manner, but she would manage to join and add her voice to the song.

It was a lovely night with the crackling of the fire and the company. It was as if their cares could melt away for just a moment… There was peace. Even if it only lasts for the time they sat here tonight. It had been a long night, and Santario was already tired before she had sat down with them that evening. She looked over at Flash once more and smiled. “Thank you for singing with me, but I think it is time for me to go.” She had a detention to set up the following day, and on top of that, she still wanted to see if she could find those elusive flowers. She would offer a nod to everyone as she stood up and walked off toward her cabin.
