Summer Camp Spin the Bottle Group 2 Closed

Moderation Post - Round 2

The game continued, as many of the group seemed quite excited about it. Or was it nervous and kind of awkward? Perhaps they just wanted to have a bit of fun but this was not their sort of game? Who knows. For some reason, they chose to stay and continue.

Amelie Fontaine spun the bottle next. She had never been kissed before today, perhaps all of that was about to change as the bottle pointed to Zykeal Lane, who was also reserved. Though he seemed to have a bit of odd luck for landing on girls with very similar names.

Vivian Fletcher spun the bottle, finding it land on the Amelia Faye that she shared a Hogwarts house with and year with. Did they already know each other? Would that make this less or more awkward?

Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin spun next, for the empty bottle to be directly pointing towards Autumn Ivy, who had taken the 'chickening' out option last time. But perhaps a hug would be what they both wanted!

Martyna Romero was not one to chicken out before but would she continue to be brave and bold as the bottle pointed towards Maximilien de Fostoncy Vivian Fletcher, who might be the lucky recipient of two kisses?

Calypso Starling admitted that kissing was not really her thing but maybe she could offer her partner, Serena Bowen a hug or a cheek kiss instead?

Charles Alluring might call it fate or something but he watched the bottle that he spun go round and round till it stopped on the Xeno Darkaz that he had just shared a kiss with. Perhaps this was a sign or something?

Earl Gray loved hugs and so, perhaps he would be relieved when the bottle landed on Scarlet Salvatore, who was happy to hug last time too.

Scarlett Aden spun the bottle this time... for it to land on Violet Carrington - wait what? First Violet spun it to land on Scarlett and now Scarlett ended up landing on Violet again? Would they go for another cheek kiss or perhaps change it up this time?

The first round was over by now and until it would end the blonde was so panicky that she didn’t look at any face she knew and forgot to put her plan into action that is to socialise. After hugging Earl, she finally regained her composure but her calmness wouldn’t remain for a long time. Many actually kissed which surprised Vivian, why is it so tough for her to be sportive like them? And some shared cheek kisses and some hugged like her, some left and others ran away. There was not any need for her to share a kiss in a game, she is not going to kiss anybody for a joke or for fun. Kiss means something to her and she is saving her first kiss for someone special. But no one knows what’s the next minute held for her... maybe a change of heart? Nah, or that’s what she’s thinking.

Now that the blonde was a little relaxed than before, she wished to sit with some new faces, rather than sitting alone and overthinking that someone would expect a kiss from her. Her eyes glanced around and first caught sight of a girl who is in the same year as her. Walking towards her, “Hello, I am Vivian” she smiled at her as she sat down beside the girl who she assumed to be a Slytherin. Of course, the Hufflepuff have seen the girl in her uniform but have never talked to her until now.

Watching around the area, she spotted many familiar faces which she failed to notice. Before getting up to her feet to spin the bottle again, with a smile stretched on her face she waved to Amelia, Cassie, Scarlet and a boy (Charles) beside Cassie whom she doesn’t know yet, hoping she would get to know him soon. As soon as she touched the bottle again, her heart raced, “Do not land on anyone who would expect a kiss” she commanded the bottle with a serious look as though it could hear and would listen to her, and also added, “Please...” as she spun with heavy force.

As it landed on someone whom she doesn’t know still as the girl didn’t lift her face from the bottle, the blonde closed her face with both her hands. “Don’t make a scene, Vivian” she muttered to herself peeking from the gap between her fingers. To her relief, it was Amelia, of course she’s not going to expect a kiss from her. With a grin, she released her face from the prison of her hand as she stood up, “Hug please” before saying thanks to the bottle.

[font=times new roman]A[/font]fter the kiss, Scarlett gave a thumbs up to Carrington, flashing a smile as well. Physical affection wasn't really her thing - which was stupid, because she had signed up for a kissing game in the first place - but Scarlett sometimes accepted an odd peck on the cheek, maybe a hug or two. She wasn't depraved of this sort of stuff by any means, she just didn't enjoy it that much.

She heard a snicker from Cassie and glared in her direction, mouthing She's cute, okay?

Afterwards, Scarlett sat down to let everyone else have a turn. Scarlett picked up her crisps again with a gasp. "No one stole anything! This calls for a celebration." She then picked a particularly large one out of the packet and ate it with a crunch. Charles had already gone and kissed his assigned partner on the lips. Some people went that far? And others were just hugging! Scarlett raised her eyebrows, though not in a particularly judgy way. "I ship as well," she mock-whispered to Cassie, perfectly aware Charles could hear their every word. "We should set up a date for them someday. An Italian dinner with romantic lighting and Andrea Bocelli in the background. And spaghetti for one." She laughed and leant back on her hands. "Egg-cellent pajamas by the way," she addd off-handedly to Cassie.

On another note, Scarlett really needed to start learning French as to keep up with Cassie and Charles's constant, rapid conversations.

Cassie spun, giving it a hard whack. It eventually slowed to a stop on a blonde-haired girl Scarlett briefly recognised as her classmate. Damn. Why were girls so pretty? Cassie then hugged her before returning. "Nothing ship worthy," said Scarlett with a grin. "But I'll make up a name for it anyway. What was that girl's name? And oh! We need a Charles and what's-he-called ship name! Did you catch his name, Alluring?"

Then round two was off, and Scarlett spun relatively early. She twisted it and the bottle went whizzing round, with not as much momentum as before. It landed to a stop quite quickly on...Carrington? Again? Ah well, Scarlett wasn't being picky. She clambered to her feet towards Carrington. "We meet again!" she said, with her arms wide. "Cheek kiss? Or a hug this time?"

Round two had begun, and Calypso still couldn't quite believe she was doing this. She

had to admit, though, it hadn't been all bad. At least nobody had forced her to kiss anyone. And the slumber party, admittedly, was quite enjoyable. The s'mores, the smoky campfire smell, the endless map of stars that spread out above her; it all had a cozy, amiable feeling to it. All of the kissing and 'shipping' was making her more uncomfortable than she'd like to say, though.

When it came her turn to 'spin the bottle' again, she stepped out into the center of the circle. A flip of her wrist, and the bottle spun, wobbly, until it landed on a blonde-haired Hufflepuff girl, and Cal recognized her as a Third Year she had seen around the halls often last term. "Hey. Serena, right? I'm Calypso. Listen, I'm not much of a kisser, but maybe we could make up a cool handshake or something?" If the girl accepted, Cal would fumble over twirls and finger signs and handclapping with Serena, laughing. Then she would pull her into a hug if she allowed it, say goodbye to the group, and wander away to do a little stargazing before bed.

Sliding towards the center, our tiny boy laid down on his stomach before giving the bottle a practiced twist with his thumb and middle finger, goofy smile blossoming on his face. It seemed to spin forever, light of the campfire throwing dim green reflections off of its surface. Finally, it landed on a pretty brunette. Wide eyeliner rimmed eyes and a coy grin.

Earl had to ask her how she did her makeup sometime, she was absolutely stunning. "Hiii" he beamed, wiggling the tips of his fingers in her direction. It was a strange way of waving, but he'd started years before and wasn't about to stop now. Especially since it seemed to infuriate his dad to no end.

He pushed himself up to a sitting position, dusting off the hideous sweater he'd been forced to wear. At least it fit him a little better than the other boxy clothes he'd been bought. "Kiss?" he asked, ready to go for a hug again, but wanting to try his luck out anyway. Worst came to worst, he got to hug a new person and make a friend. And if anything more happened, well he'd leave the campfire with a wider grin than usual.

Although Scarlet had felt slightly more reassured by the release of a small giggle from the dark haired boy who later introduced himself as Maximilien or 'Maxi,' even after he had told her that he was in the year above her in his respective school, she couldn't hide her disappointment when she watched as his smile turned into a frown.

"I’m sorry, Mademoiselle, but…no." She had only asked for a hug, so quickly realised the rejection could have felt much worse, but maybe it was because she thought she was choosing the safe option that she was more surprised by his response. She was relieved to hear that it wasn't strictly her that had resulted in the boy's response, but rather the whole game. She accepted his extended hand, refusing to create any kind of bitterness between the two, and watched as he walked off towards the cabins, she had decided to remain in the game rather than join him, hoping for some excitement in the later rounds.

Returning to her blanket, Scarlet watched as several other students shared kisses and hugs, the anticipation building with each bottle spin, wondering which of the remaining students she would get paired with next. With her eyes fixed on the spinning bottle, she didn't notice the Hufflepuff approaching her, "Hello, I am Vivian," the girl said introducing herself, Scarlet looked up to the voice to see a friendly looking blonde. She remembered seeing the girl around Hogwarts last year, as well as in some of her classes so assumed the girl was another soon to be second year.

"Hey! I'm Scarlet, I like your dress!" she said, admiring the checked dress the girl was wearing. Scarlet shuffled across the blanket, giving Vivian room as she sat down next to Scarlet. She watched as the time came for Vivian to spin the bottle and waved back as she got up to take her turn, letting out a small laugh when she heard Vivian pleading with the bottle, a small part of Scarlet wished for the same thing after the events of her first turn.

From amongst the group, a pink-haired boy came up towards the bottle, comfortably laying on his stomach and beaming at the rest of the group as he gave the bottle an elegant spin. Scarlet watched as it slowed before finally stopped, pointing at her. She looked up towards the boy, now waving in her direction, "Hiii," he said, before sitting up from where he had been lying.

"Hi, I'm Scarlet, what was your name?" she asked, making her way towards him and listening for his answer.

"Kiss?" he asked just as Scarlet had stopped in front of him. She had no reason as to why she shouldn't, she hadn't spoken with him before, but the wide grin on his face made her feel comfortable with him.

"Yeah, okay!" she replied, sitting down beside him, an equally wide smile now forming on her own face. "I've not exactly done this before, so..." she confessed quietly to him, not quite sure how to finish the sentence. Scarlet leaned in towards him, feeling slightly flush at this point, and accepted the kiss. It was short, but this didn't make it feel any less special, after all it was her first kiss. Pulling away from him, Scarlet could feel the heat radiating off her flushed cheeks, "well, that wasn't too bad," she said, giggling a little.

Following the kiss, Scarlet would make her way back to her own blanket and sit down, directing a little wave, reminiscent of the boy's own initial wave to her, and a smile back at him.

Autumn could do this! Yeah, she was already doing a great job of not standing up and walking away and screaming into a pillow, and that had to be the hardest part of this, right? The rest would be easy.

She was going to kiss someone, just to stick it to her sister, and she didn't understand at what point she had genuinely thought that motive was a rational and sane one. Still, she was nothing if not stubborn and prideful, so if she had decided that she was going to kiss someone, she was going to do it. She watched the bottle spin and spin and spin. Strangers spinning bottles that landed on other strangers. People hugging, kissing, being awkward teenagers.

Yeah, Autumn could do this.

The next bottle to spin landed on her.

Autumn could not do this.

Oh Merlin, what was she supposed to do? Kiss her? She couldn't do that! Why had she thought she could do that?

What were her other choices? Other choices! Other choices were exactly what Autumn needed in that moment. Other choices. A rejection would make her seem like a coward. Not that she wasn't, but these people didn't need to know that. A hug would be boring, but consistent, but that wasn't a good thing because she didn't want to consistently hug; the goal had been set on an eventual kiss, and no matter how much it terrified her right now, she would achieve that goal. Sometime. Later on the game. Eventually. Yeah. A kiss on the cheek was... A step up from a hug, but not as intense as a kiss? A cheek kiss would be perfect! But how did one initiate a cheek kiss? Tact wasn't exactly her middle name.

She realised again that she still hadn't made proper eye contact with the person whose spin had landed on her. Wow, tact was seriously not her middle name. She looked up, and she felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, but her 'uncomfortable' felt intimidating to most, so maybe this was worse on the other person than it was for her? The thought didn't make her feel as comforted as she had imagined it would.

And looking at this person, actually making eye contact with this human being... She couldn't do this. She was a pretty great liar, but she would have to be a hell of a lot better to deceive herself enough that she would think she could do this. Autumn grimaced.

"Hug?" she spoke weakly.

It was fine. It was still better to stay boring and consistent than to go down a step and reject. She could still do this.

Round one had went faster than Amelia expected and they were soon onto round two. Some people were bold and had actually kissed their partner on the lips while others weren't as bold and just went for a hug or a cheek kiss. Some people had even ran away, Amelia couldn't exactly blame them but she also felt a bit upset for their partners who were left alone. Her eyes caught sight of someone waving at her and she looked up to see Vivian, her cabinmate she had met on the first day of summer camp. She smiled and waved back at her while she watched Vivian go up to the bottle and spin it. She spotted Vivian's lips moving but she couldn't catch what she was saying. Knowing how freaked out Vivian had been when they were discussing the game at their cabin, Amelia guessed that the girl was either saying a prayer or begging the bottle to not put her through misery. The side of her mouth quirked up at the thought and she had to stifle a laugh.

Luckily for Vivian, the bottle had decided to go easy on her and had actually landed on Amelia. The young girl couldn't help but let out a laugh before standing up and facing Vivian. "Yeah, of course we can hug," she responded with a smile on her face. Amelia wrapped her arms tightly around Vivian, staying like that for a couple of seconds before backing away. She gave Vivian a thumbs up before heading back to her spot and flopping down on her beanbag. Letting out a sigh, she grabbed her can and took a quick sip out of it. If she was being completely honest, she was starting to feel a bit tired but she didn't want to leave the game just yet so she just settled more into her beanbag and pulled her blanket tighter around herself. A few more rounds and then she'll go back to her cabin.

Serena actually felt slightly relieved when Cassie said no and offered up a hug instead. Maybe she wasn’t as ready for kissing as she thought. The hug felt nice but still a little awkward since she had just met the other girl.

“Yeah, I’ll see you around, Cassie. Thanks.” Serena gave a small smile. Should she leave before the bottle landed on her again? Or should she stay? Serena wasn’t sure. On the one hand, it was kind of amusing watching everyone else playing this game, but she wasn’t so sure that she wanted to participate herself.

But then again, Serena didn’t have to kiss anyone if she didn’t want to. She could just give the other person a hug or kiss them on the cheek. So, Serena would stay for now. And right as she decided to stay in the game, the bottle landed on her once again.

Serena saw a brunette Gryffindor girl was the one who had spun it. Serena remembered seeing her in the halls sometimes.

"Hey. Serena, right? I'm Calypso. Listen, I'm not much of a kisser, but maybe we could make up a cool handshake or something?"

Serena smiled. “Nice to meet you, Calypso! And sure, that sounds like fun!”

Serena laughed as she and Calypso made up a silly handshake, fumbling through different combinations of clapping and hand movements. After the handshake was over, Serena allowed Calypso to pull her into a hug for a few moments before the other girl got up and left the group.

Serena smiled, making a mental note to talk with Calypso more. She seemed like a fun person to hang out with.
