Summer Camp Truth or Dare Group 6 Closed

The smile on her lips got bigger once Lydia hear the owl's name; sure, it sounded difficult, but at the same time it was extremely cute. "Fuwa..fuwa?" she tried, unsure if she had pronounced it correctly. When Ruka reached up to pet the owl, Lydia wondered if she could do the same, however she didn't have the time to do that, that Fuwafuwa flew on her shoulder, inching close to snuggle her. Leaning towards the bird, the red headed girl let Fuwafuwa cuddle her, reaching up to gently stroke down her feathers. "She's so soft!" she said, almost in awe; it was definitely different from petting a cat, or a dog, and she hadn't expected the bird to be that soft.

Her attention was then caught by someone shouting her name, and asking her to raise her hand.
She did that, and she curled her lips up in a polite smile towards the upcoming girl. "Yep, that would be me," she said, her face looking up at the girl, curious to hear her question.

“Truth question. If you could do one illegal thing that would change your life or someone else’s for the better or worse without any consequences, what would you do.”

Well, that was definitely an interesting question. If she was being completely honest, the first thing that popped into Lydia's head was that she had no idea. However, she wanted to give the girl a more thought on answer. "Well," she said, scratching her head as she thought, "I would definitely do something like that only if it would change someone else's life for the better, not for worse but- I guess I would probably say steal something, in order to help myself or someone else," she hoped that her answer was enough, and that she had not disappointed the other girl.

Once she was done talking, she listened to Ruka talk and learned Aurora's name, and tried her best to remember it associated with her face -she had the bad habit of mixing up people, every once in a while. The dare that the Gryffindor boy gave her was quite difficult, although quite funny and interesting at the same time; Lydia couldn't help herself from raising an eyebrow, interested to see how things would have turned out.

When Alec struggled to answer her question, Lydia frowned and bit her bottom lip briefly; she didn't mean to make him struggle, and she actually thought that a question like that could have been innocent enough for the game. She took a mental note to think about better questions, and then listened to his answer. She nodded, and offered him an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, like- make you feel bad. I appreciate your honesty," she offered her apology, hoping that Alec wasn't going to hate her from that moment on.

Lydia's attention was caught once again by Ruka, who had gotten up and was walking away, calling his owl to him. A small pout appeared on the Hufflepuff girl, just as a disgruntled Fuwafuwa started flying towards him*; it was a shame that they were already going away, and Lydia hoped that they could have met again during the summer camp. She awkwardly waved goodbye to them, before concentrating back on the game.

Returning the hug to Bloom was a little difficult for Lavinia because she still had the picnic basket in her hand but somehow she managed. Letting out a laugh at Bloom’s comment about being her victim for truth, Lavinia watched Glen carry out his push-ups. He did one after another and soon enough, all 30 were done. She was surprised that he finished them that quickly but was sure to congratulate him. “Good work on the push-ups, sorry that I made you exercise.” she said with a smile.

Almost jumping in surprise at the arm touching her shoulder, Lavinia’s head whipped around to see Bloom. Somehow she had lost track that they were right next to each other but now Bloom had her attention.

"What do you want your greatest accomplishment in life to be?" Bloom asked Lavinia for her truth.

It was a deep question and one that Lavinia really wasn’t sure about. When she was a kid, all she ever dreamed about was being a witch and then once she became one, it was all about quidditch. Her goal now was probably to hold the quidditch World Cup but that couldn’t happen for a few more years. Lavinia thought about it for a good amount of time before she just trusted Bloom and let it all out.

“Wow. That was a good one. I would say the greatest accomplishment that I would want to achieve is winning the quidditch World Cup but I have a long ways to go before I can get a chance at that. Currently I just want to grow as much as I can as an individual and take more risks. I think that if I can be the best me than that is the greatest thing that I can achieve. I’m really not sure though, my mom always said that I was her greatest accomplishment but I don’t know if she was being true. Sometimes parents just say stuff to their kids to make the kid feel better. So, I would say that at the moment, I want my greatest accomplishment to be winning the World Cup and reaching my fullest potential.” She said smiling at the next while giving into her talkative nature.

Serena had to resist rolling her eyes at the rude child. Given that she was talking to her face and not her back, how was she supposed to know?! But she had manners and therefore, resisted saying anything rude. The girl's response was a little disappointing, admittedly. She probably would have asked a bit more but when the girl was being rude and was not expanding of her own accord, she figured there was no point in trying to make more conversation with her. "I see, well, I'm glad you managed to get in then," The Hufflepuff replied simply, as she had nothing else to really say. Turning away from Klara to end the conversation, she made her way back to her friends.

A boy with very bright hair appeared before she got very far though. "Oh, hi! Hm..." She responded to the boy who suddenly appeared and starting talking to her. She pondered for a moment but the same two things came to mind again and again. Nothing else really seemed to hit the mark. Nonetheless, Serena pondered for a few moments - wondering if her mother, father or anyone else had told her anything that was better. But these two had saved her life and her sanity time and time again... What was more important than that?

"The best advice I've ever gotten... Well, two things come to mind so I'll tell you both. The first is 'knock back the darkness' and the second is, 'when the world gets dark, remember, you are your own light. Remember this, and you'll light the path for others as well... Both things that professors told me over the years." She did not expand on the advice on either occasion. However, she had repeated the words both in her mind and out aloud to others over the years. The first was something Headmaster Lear told her during that awful campout in her first year. It was the words that saved her life then - and time and time afterwards too. Not just her life but others too. The second piece of advice was from her current Head of House, Professor Browne, who had written them in a note to her on her birthday over a year ago. She recalled them every so often, both words that she would likely remember for a long time to come.

Noticing Glen doing his push-ups, she was pretty impressed he managed to get them done. She was pretty sure she would fail after the first or second one! "That looked exhausting, well done," She complimented as she took a seat near him before dipping her hand into the picnic basket and pulling out a packet of millions to try. She stuffed a handful into her mouth and they were so good! It was the bubblegum flavour.

She had also noticed Bloom's answer from earlier, which was kind of sad. The Lonely Ravenclaw... A feeling she could relate to. Well, not the Ravenclaw part. Not even slightly but she knew what being lonely felt like. For Serena, it was the experience of when she had been trapped in a world of darkness but also a feeling that she had whilst in a crowd of people. She did not really know what to say to that though, not being great with words. If she managed to catch her attention, she would offer her a smile and chuck her something from the nearby picnic basket, "Hey Bloom, have you tried these Millions? They are so tasty. Heads up!" She asked just before she chucked her a packet. The one she threw was cola flavour. Candy made things better, right?

Bloom's attention was on the Gryffindor boy that she had to answer a truth to. He seemed to think that her answer was very thoughtful. Bloom gave him a small smile. It was true from the past couple of years, but she hoped that in the coming ending years of Hogwarts that it would be different.

"Nice to meet you, Alec. What year are you in?" she asked, starting some sort of conversation throughout the game.

Once the small talk had ended, her attention shifted to Lavinia.

The best part about giving someone a truth is to hear them. When she heard Lavinia's greatest accomplishment, Bloom felt it was on par with who she was. She was one of the best Ravenclaw Quidditch Players. It did not surprise Bloom that being a part of the Quidditch World Cup was her career choice in the future. "I can already see you accomplishing that!" she said.

Bloom immediately heard her name and quickly looked towards the sound. It was Serena, and not just her, but a packet being thrown at her. Bloom stretched out her hands with a smile and tried to catch the packet, but it fell on the floor. She grabbed it quickly and looked at the candy.

"No! I haven't tried it... Well until now," Bloom began to open the packet and looked at the candy with curiosity. It was brown, but that did not bother her. Bloom put the candy in her mouth and she smiled at the tasty taste of the treat. "Mmm! What flavor are you going to try?"

"Did you get anything intense yet?" she asked Serena, starting some small talk. Although they were not close, they had classes together and she was the only one in this room that she was "closest" to in terms of knowing versus the other younger years.

“Thanks! I haven't done any of those in ages.” Following Serena's example, Glen sat back and relaxed until it was time for the next round of dares. “What's your favourite candy, Serena? Bloom?”, he asked in an attempt at small talk. People did that, right? Small talk. While waiting. And chilling around. Ugh. If someone asked Glen for his, he would answer: “My current favourite is still Irn-Bru bars, but. Well...”, he would offer a disappointed shrug. They weren't in production anymore, sadly.

When the time came for the second round, Glen would quickly go hunt down the boy he had to dare. It should be easier this time, as he thought he had seen the boy near their group earlier. He kind of wished he could pose the dare he thought of last round as it would certainly be funny, it would be boring. The point of the game wasn't to give everyone the same dare, after all. New name, new dare.

He was torn between two ideas: it would be interesting (if potentially mean) to dare someone to only talk with their hands for the next … x minutes, but he could also send them actually do something. Hmm. Making them declare their undying love for someone or something similar seemed kinda rote. Maybe … Ah, heck. Whatever.

Once he found his target, Glen would give him a (in his opinion) somewhat boring dare: “Alec Mason! I have a dare for you: For the next half an hour, address people only with insults instead of their names. The more ridiculous the insult, the better.”

After everything Alec had found himself rather quiet, till the next round came to play. When in this round he was looking for a Serena Towers? Alec's eyes peaked around. He wondered why the pieces of paper didn't have some sort of map tracking with a magical arrow that appears in ink on the slips to show which direction to head it. Alec wasn't the best with small details. Who was? His eyes would keep slipping over from one person to the next, and another, another, till he'd finally found the Serena the slip of paper had been talking about. Easy enough. Surely she didn't look like a big scary older year girl at all, no, not at all.

As Alec made his way up to her he cleared his throat. Trying not to end her conversation with these other people, but just get his job done. He still wasn't a fan of anything particularly juicy for truths so his mind etched on the easier side of things. In hopes to not make others, even scary older girls uncomfortable. Like perfect day, it was always interesting to know how exactly ones perfect day would go and why. Dreams and ambitions were up there as well but it always got a little deep-rooted. He'd found you couldn't steer away from everything.

Favorite colors seemed tough at times, it may have just been Alec's. The blue was just blue, but the purple was important to him because those around him had made it important. With that in mind Alec would just go for. “Hey, I'm supposed to be giving out a truth to you. In the spirit of asking book related truth questions. What's your favorite book quote and why?” Alec asked, something he was genuinely interested in. This one had to be not so deep.

"Mine's bubblegum, wanna try?" She offered as she held the open packet carefully in the air, leaning towards her with an outstretched arm for Bloom to take it if she wanted to try it. It was a very blue colour, so Serena's tongue was probably turning blue as she made her way through the packet but that did not bother her in the slightest, "Oh, no, just a question about the best advice I got. A pretty good question," She replied to Bloom's question. It definitely was not intense, at least not for her.

Serena paused in thought at Glen's question, wondering what her favourite sweets were. It was a very hard question, in fairness, "I have no idea... Probably Bertie Botts just because they are kinda unpredictable, yanno? Can't get bored of that!" She responded. Though she had gotten some pretty gross flavours from them previously. For her, it was part of the fun though.

The goblet spat a piece of paper out at her, which she caught. Unfolding it as she had crumbled it a little in her attempt to catch it, she looked at her new assignment. Spotting her, she got up after muttering a quick 'be right back' to the group to approach her. "Lavinia? This says I'm meant to give you a truth, so uh," She paused as she held the piece of paper up. This also gave her a second or two to think about what to actually ask, "Have you ever had a crush on someone at Hogwarts and if so, who?" She asked her, wondering who Lavinia would have crushed on.

It seemed that Serena's flavor that she was trying was turning her mouth blue at every chew. It was Bubblegum flavored. It is one of the best classic flavors in candy and Bloom, knowing that it would most likely turn her mouth blue, reached out and grabbed a piece from her Hufflepuff friend. At least Serena wouldn't be alone with a blue mouth.

Bloom popped it into herm mouth and chewed on the delicious candy. "So good!" she said. Her attention went straight to Glen who asked what their favorite candy was. It was such a good question. Bloom looked up at the ceiling to think of said question.

"Hmm, probably Chocolate Frogs," she answered. "There's something about a piece of chocolate mimicking a live frog that you have to catch. Even more so, you get a prize!" Bloom was referring to the fun Chocolate Frog Cards that were in every Chocolate Frog package. There were so many to collect. She had a fair share of hers, but never quite got into it the way other peers have.

Looking around, Bloom thought she saw Lydia. "Excuse me," she said, realizing that she needed to give her a truth as a part of the game. She planned on returning back to Glen and Serena later.

"Lydia," she called out. Bloom came up to the Hufflepuff and smiled. "I'm giving you your truth," she started. Bloom paused for a second and thought it would be hilarious to ask the following: "Which male professor do you think is the most attractive?" she asked, wondering what her answer would be.

Lavinia felt glad that she had told Bloom the entirety of her truth because the goal was to make more friends and Bloom was one of them. Trusting their friends was something that people did and Lavinia was getting into the habit of it. She couldn’t help but smile at Bloom’s motivating comment and was so happy that they had shared a compartment together. It was so nice to have someone other than her brain motivating her and Bloom was a good friend who did that.

Walking back to the goblet, Lavinia place her name with the word truth in it, hoping for another good truth. In return, she received a piece of paper that read Aurora Ranvier - Dare. This was a person who she knew decently well and kept running into. Looking around to find her semi-pink hair, Aurora was easy to spot. She was as stylish and ever and chose to not wear the provided shirt. Lavinia went up to her and gave a feeble attempt at a hello. “Hi again Aurora, it’s a little weird that we keep running into each other but I have you for a dare.” she said holding up the piece of paper.

Gathering her thoughts and trying to not make it sound too awkward, Lavinia went ahead with saying the dare. “Alright, I’m not that good at this so don’t judge… I dare you to write a poem about someone in this group and recite it to them. It can be anyone you want as long as you have fun with it.” she said with a light laugh and smile.

Hearing her name, Lavinia turned around to look at an older girl. Sneaking a glance at the back of her yellow shirt, she saw the name of Serena. Listening carefully to hear her truth from Serena, she was a little off put when it was said. Had she ever even had a crush? Probably not, hiding in her room didn’t really help out with a love life. The only interesting thing that had happened in her love life was when love potion caused her to go crazy. “A c-rush..” she started wearily, wondering weather or not to completely spill her thoughts. “As much as I would like to say yes, I don’t think that I’ve ever had a real one. I did have a fake one with Kazuo Shimada for like 10 minutes at the ball but it was caused by amortentia.” she stated realizing that if she ever wanted to make friends then she would have to start by trusting people.
