The day felt revelatory normal. Almost like any other day. The teen sat with his friends during breakfast at the hufflepuff table that morning, he attended classes, raised his hand and answered questions, and found a seat in the back of his classes typically with a friend.
If he wanted then he could have probably pretended that recent events have happened. That they were just a dream. If he probably tried hard enough then he could have pretended that his twin hadn't disappeared, his father wasn't engaged to Rose Moon's mother, he wasn't choosen for the Trial of fear, and he didn't fall unconscious in his final duel. But Henry couldn't, he couldn't pretend. Pretend that nothing happened. That everything was normal. That he was fine. Because it wasn't. He wasn't.
Henry walked through the corridors to his next class, his bag over one shoulder and hair blowing lightly over his eyes as students pushed past him probably talking with their friends.
The teen would enter his Transfiguration class. One that second year Slytherin's shared with second year Hufflepuff's, so naturally the teen decided to look for his best friend to sit next to like usual. But his eyes seemed to fail him since he didn't see the brunette anywhere within his site so instead the teen found a seat in the back.
Placing his bag onto his desk for a moment as he took out his half empty ink jar, quill, muggle ballpoint pen, and two journals. Both gifts from friends, one was a leather bound one from his best friend gave him and he figured that he would save it for his investigation on the Knights and his twin's disappearance plus as a diary. So naturally the boy placed that one back in his bag and put his bag by his feet.
Leaving out a black journal from his purple hair slytherin friend on his desk, flipping the book open tonal clean page before he would eye and give a smile to the raven hair girl who he would surprise him and sit next to him for a reason unknown to him.
The teen would silently mouth 'Hey' to her before he noticed the Transfiguration professor talk roll call before starting his lecture.
There wasn't that much room for talking for the first half of class, for the professor who acted like he was a ancestor of a cowboy or from the wild west started class off euro a lecture.
Henry paid attention and took a few note but majority of one side of his paper was covered in a drawing. The drawing was a light sketch of his deskmate, not that she could see since he was positioned in a way that one couldn't see his paper or drawing.
There were a few notes around the drawing as well in his cursive minuscule handwriting.
The teen would continue lightly sketching when he would hear the professor ask a question and hesitantly he would raise his hand, hoping that the professor wouldn't call on him but unfortunately he would.Lucia Fox - Second Year Hufflepuff Duelist

~ Accomplished dueler?
~ Brilliant Hearing
~ sweet adorable pygmy puff with a cool name

The teen would feel his anxiety increase as he gave out a answer and lowered his head a bit. Luckily it was correct and the boy would barely let out a breath of relief when he asked if he could go to the lavatory before flipping his journal to the next page and heading out from the classroom.
Unfortunately the journal page would flip back to his drawing and comments letting anyone read or gaze at it for a few moments before he would return and take his seat, when he would close his close and nod toward the professor where he mention that for the remained of class they would practice the charm and study quietly.

Lucia liked Transfiguration well enough. She wasn't as good at it as she was at charms, but it was still fun. Apart from the theory. The theory for transfiguration was just plain old confusing - this was spellwork, not science! Didn't muggles learn this sort of stuff? Why did Lucia need to know it? Well, she supposed there must be some sort of reason. They wouldn't add it to the curriculum for nothing.
Lucia entered the classroom a moment late - not as much as to attract attention, but enough that her seat was taken. Anyway, she didn't like sitting near the front. She just always seemed to end up there because she didn't know where else to go. The Hufflepuff slipped into a seat at the back just as Professor Wade began the register, and then noticed that she was next to Henry, whom she'd met and talked to a few times and whose cat liked River almost as much as River despised him. Actually, it was very funny, especially when River saw Loki wandering the corridors and burst into terrified squeaks, pressing herself against Lucia's neck in an attempt to hide. Just in time, she murmured to Henry now, and bent down to get her books and equipment out of her bag.
Professor Wade always seemed to start with a lecture, and this lesson was no different. Gamps' Law: a relatively simple concept, in Lucia's mind, which now needed to be turned into physics, because that was apparently how transfiguration worked. Magical physics... this was why Lucia preferred charms. It was less mathematical. Even so, Lucia took a few notes as the Professor spoke, putting her quill down only when he asked a question. She thought for a moment, and then slowly raised her hand, frowning - but she wasn't chosen after all. Instead, Henry was, and he gave the answer with his head lowered as if he was embarrassed of being right, before asking to go to the toilet. He left, and then- Lucia's eyes were caught by her name, written in cursive at the top of one of Henry's notebook's pages.
Huh? Lucia instinctively looked around her as though scared she'd get caught looking in Henry's notebook, then (flushing a little from curiousity and, well, okay, maybe a bit of shame) pulled it towards her, scanning the contents of the page quickly. There was a drawing - a very good drawing actually - of a girl with long hair lying down, on grass maybe? Wait, was this her? Lucia looked at it more closely and then began to notice a few similarities between her and the girl in the sketch. They had the same sharp chin, the same eyebrows even. Woah, Henry was good.
Then, Lucia turned her attention to the words jotted around the sketch like some kind of spider diagram. Some of them made sense. Some of them didn't.Then, Lucia heard the door open and closed the notebook in a panic, thrusting it back onto Henry's desk. Then, Professor Wade announced that, for the rest of the class, they would practise the spell they'd learned and study quietly. Oh, Merlin. Lucia had no idea what spell they'd learned. She'd been too busy snooping. She looked over at Henry out of the corner of her eye and made a tiny coughing noise, immediately regretting it as soon as it came out of her mouth. "Um," she blurted, "Uh, I'm not popular." Then she flushed in embarrassment.
- Friendly. Oh, that was nice of him! Lucia did try to be friendly. It was something Ebony had told her a few years ago, actually: a friend made is an enemy lost. Lucia liked loosing enemies.
- Kind or nice towards everyone, almost. Was this the kind of reputation Lucia had? She liked it. It was nice that Henry thought she was kind towards everyone. Almost.
- Logan's duelling partner. There was a word crossed out before this, and Lucia wondered what it was, but she couldn't tell. Well, this was true. How did Henry- oh yeah. He was friends with Logan, wasn't he?
- Accomplished dueller? Lucia wouldn't exactly call herself 'accomplished', but it made her blush a little all the same. However, it was a little confusing how this one came with a question mark, as if Henry wasn't sure either.
- Something crossed out, which Lucia couldn't read. Again. She hoped it wasn't anything bad...
- adorable pygmy puff with a cool name. There was another crossed-out word before this, but he couldn't be saying anything bad about River. River was pure joy wrapped in purple fur, Lucia was sure of it. Apart from when she tried to steal your earwax. However.
- intelligent or seems to be? Lucia was fairly sure she wasn't intelligent.
- Another crossed-out note, longer than the last. Oh, Lucia really did hope it wasn't anything bad.
- Popular. Wait, what?
- Why would she sit next to me? Because there was a seat spare?

Henry would pull his wand out from his bag and set it carefully on the desk only to realize that he didn't exactly know what spell it was they were suppose to be practicing. Henry thought he was paying attention but he must have been to focused in on sketching his deskmate and writing down the list to hear what the spell was. Henry considered rising his hand and asking but when his eyes gazed up at the professor he decided aginest it since the western style professor was intimating the boy just a bit.
Instead Henry was thinking if he should ask his deskmate what the spell was when he heard her voice and words. The teen instantly went a unnoticeable pale and shut his journal immediately, taking a few rather rapid breaths before clearing his throat and opening his mouth slightly but closing it before any words could actually come out.
She saw! She saw the drawing and notes and merlin's wand I'm dead! This is awful! Bloody awful! She knows and now will probably laugh at me or yell at me or say something mean or insult me or show the rest of her friends or laugh at me to her friends or... or... uh... I'm so stupid! I shouldn't have sketched her or wrote the notes! How can I be so stupid! Maybe i should say something or do something... or maybe I shouldn't and save myself from more embarrassment? Uh.... what to do? I could run? Running seems reasonable and a good choice but I will just embarrass myself even more and possibly get detention for running our of class or laughed at by the whole class!
Alright I could talk to her, tell her why I sketched her and wrote the notes and hope she's not mad. Maybe she isn't? She seems rather kind and understanding so maybe she'll understand? Or she won't? Or I embarrassed myself with the horrible sketch and notes! Uh.... what to do... what to do...
Henry would take a shaky breath and bring his journal to his chest as his eyes lingered a bit on the raven haired girl who sat besides him and a bit on the ground as he softly spoke"I just thought you were since your so nice and smart and pretty. Uh sorry," The teen would rest his arms on the desk and take a few breaths as his eyes aimed downward onto the journal that now sat in his lap. His hair fell over his eyes and his thoughts flooded his mind knowing he probably made a mistake but hoped he didn't.

The moment the words came out of her mouth, Lucia regretted it. Henry snapped the notebook shut and placed his hand on top of it as though trying to steady himself, then appeared to take several quick breaths. Lucia flushed in embarrassment. Oh, mother of Merlin. Now Henry was going to think she was some kind of stalker, or- or-
As it turned out, there wasn't a need for an or, because Henry opened his mouth... then closed it again. Lucia mentally cursed. She'd been making quite an effort to stop cursing since Christmas, when Ebony had given her a lecture about it, but she rather felt that this situation called for it. Henry repeated the motion a few times, but nothing came out. Merlin's beard. Had he gone mute? Had Lucia done that? Oh no. This was not good. This wasn't good at all.
Suddenly, Henry spoke, holding his notebook to his chest, and Lucia nearly collapsed with relief. She released a breath she didn't know she'd been holding and relaxed a little more in her chair. Then she registered the words, and flushed a little at the praise. "Oh!" she said out of want for anything else. "Uh, thank you!" She gave him a slightly embarrassed smile. Lucia knew she was pretty, sure, but for some reason it was different when someone else noticed. And she liked being told she was nice. "That's nice of you," she blurted, her lips curving upwards a little more. "I'm, well, not sure about 'smart', though," she half-joked. However high her own opinion of her looks may have been, she wasn't entirely convinced in regards to her brain.

Henry felt embarrassed and like a idiot, his anxiety wasn't helping either. If he could of then the teen would have ran from that room and hidden either in the bathroom or dormitory but he didn't. Probably because he didn't want to explain to the professor why he suddenly ran from his class but also because he liked Lucia, well as someone who he wanted to be friends with and didn't want to appear as rude to her.
So instead the boy would slip his journal in his bag not expecting a response to his half thought response but he was wrong. The teen wild give her a small smile unsure what to say next as he fiddled with his wand a bit, fiddling with the mayhaw wood calmed his nerves at times.
The boy would hear her voice again and this time speak in a quiet but soft rather than hoarse voice" I'm sure your smart maybe not in classes but in other ways," the teen felt embarrassed after speaking and immediately dropped his head so his hair would blow over his eyes that was aimed on his mayhaw brown wand.
The teen would wait a few moments before noticing a few others around him either studying or practicing the spell that he missed the name of. Henry however would brushed a few strands of hair from his eyes and look a bit at Lucia as he spoke softly" you won your first duel so I believe your probably smart when it comes to spells and strategies," the teen would dwell over other interactions with the raven hair girl trying to find more examples about how she was smart but instead realized besides from classes they haven't really met up.
"You were brilliant with repairing the books and you raise your hand in classes," Henry spoke before shaking his head a little as he continued with a small awkward chuckle" pathetic I know but you are smart in different ways."

Lucia blushed a little - again - at Henry's praise. (This lesson was certainly turning out to be one for blushing.) It was weird, being complimented by someone she'd only talked to a few times before about being 'smart'. If anyone ever complimented Lucia, it tended to be on her appearance. I love your dress, Lucia! Your hair looks great, Lucia! Painting your nails worked really well, Lucia! She wasn't the sort of person who often got praised for what was inside, which was maybe one of the reasons why she worked so hard on the outside. It was easier not getting straight Os like some people did when you looked good. Lucia always had that going for her, at least. "Oh. Um, thank you. Uh, you too, I'm sure."
How did he know that Lucia had won her first duel? Oh, yeah. Logan. "Um, you did too, right?" she ventured. She was pretty sure her duelling partner had mentioned that at some point during practises - or Lucia might have just heard it on the grapevine. Sometimes she lost track of where she was getting information from if she hadn't been paying full attention to it at the time; which, let's be honest, was unlikely. "And the last one? With-" Lucia's brow scrunched up and she ran a hand through her hair as she tried to remember Henry's partner's name. "Uh, the blonde one? She does dance club."
Yeah, okay, now it sounded like Henry was stalking her, even if he was being extrordinarily sweet about it. He also only seemed to remember things about her in a positive light, which was nice. "I was okay at mending the books, and I only raise my hand in classes I get," Lucia blurted, feeling like she had to correct him. "Um, like Astromomy? Are you in my Astronomy class?"

Henry thought that he saw the girl blush, actually this was the first time he was looking at her. At really looking at her. Noticing how different Lucia appeared to others, almost like she was beautiful however in a way that one couldn't explain.
Then she was actually pretty with her neat robes and rave hair and rest. However the teen decided not to mention it, everyone could be pretty on the outside and receive compliments for it but it was what was on the inside that counted.
What if there's a monster on the inside?
Henry's mind reminded him for himself. Not knowing that he was siting besides a part veela. Who probably was prejudiced or talk about daily like he was being a werewolf. Two sides of the same coin, discussed differently but view at as the same.
Henry heard her next few words, usually he did that in his mind. Keep himself from speaking or saying anything rubbish. The teen picked up his wand and fiddled with it, twirling it through his fingers as he replied softly, " thank you," before his blue gaze will catch her eyes seemingly to be talking about the duels. Which one?
The first one. With Amara. Henry moved his eyes back to his wand, fiddling with it as he attempted to say" Amara Dragamior, she left last December. But thank you," the teen didn't always enjoy talking about his first partner. Amara Dragamior was his first dueling partner on the Viridian Vipers, they won and had a good chemistry even through others would disagree with that statement.
Henry still remembered the girl and would think back to past interactions with her late at night when he couldn't sleep, some would say he was insomniac. He was.
Henry's memory was his key trait. It was one of the main reasons why he passed all his classes with Outstandings and knew odd or peculiar facts about topics. Also he remembered interactions with everyone he met, even the smallest it might sound weird but his memory is long term.
Henry lightly smiled at her then took a moment for her question be speaking" second year Slytherin's and hufflepuff's have astronomy together, right?" Henry wasn't sure but he was pretty sure they did since he mainly was seated next to Logan during them as he continued" I think we do, I just remember sitting next to my best friend during them so." His accent tingling off of each syllable, it was strong and occasionally higher pitched then most males. The term definitely hadn't made it to puberty yet, high voice and no hair, not even peace fuzz.

Had Lucia ever been in a situation as awkward as this one? Well, yes, actually. After all, she'd been partnered with Rose Moon for potions once, and that had been painful to say the least. This was good awkward, though, mostly. Henry seemed just as intent on compliementing her as Rose had been on insulting her, even if both of them had chosen the wrong things to talk about. After all, Lucia certainly wasn't smart - she struggled in lessons just as much as anyone - and ahe definitely didn't cheat in anything, let alone duels - an idea which she was still sore about.
Lucia sat up a little straighter in her seat, suddenly remembering that - oh yeah - this was a Transfiguration lesson, and she was supposed to be practising Transfiguration. She looked around doubtfully at the other students, who were doing... something. With wands. Lucia couldn't make out what spell they were practising; she probably ought to ask someone, or look it up at the library later. But both options would be, in Lucia's mind, a rather humiliating way of admitting that she didn't know what was going on, so she did nothing.
At the information that Henry's first duelling partner had left Hogwarts in the December of their second year, Lucia nodded. "One of my friends left then, too. Alina Rosier? Did you know her? She went to Beauxbatons." Lucia found her eyes drawn to the metal bracelet on her arm which Alina had given her and Alexa. The Hufflepuff tended to wear it all the time now, even though Alina wasn't at Hogwarts any more. They still owled each other, although admittedly not as much as they used to, but even so if was nice to have a reminder that there were people there for her, who were there for her by choice. Lucia loved her family wholeheartedly and knew that they would always stand by her, no matter what (well, she... she hoped they would stand by her no matter what), but there was still always the fact that they'd never had any choice about it. They couldn't not be family. But Alina and Alexa had been Lucia's first really close friends, and they hadn't been forced into it. There had been - there was - no ulterior motive: just friendship. And that was something which Lucia didn't take lightly.
"I... think so," Lucia said a little vaguely when Henry realised that yes, they did share and Astronomy class.

Awkward. The situation could be described in one word. Henry instantly regretted doing that sketch and wirting those notes. He should took his journal or closed it before leaving... he should have done something, anything maybe then this whole awkardness would be avoided.
Henry looked over at the hufflepuff. Curious, he met Lucia before and they had a nirmal conversation while mending books so why was this awkward how? What changed from before...
The second year listened to Lucia's words, nodding to them. Picking up her voice and accent as he connected people and interactions from his memories. The lad met, Alina Rosier before the start of thier second year at a bookstore where they talked about being twins before Alexa joined them. A fire redhead with green eyes. Henry couldn't help himself but to think of her. A crush that he haven't relized he has yet....
"I met her," Henry spoke taking a breath, looking over at the hufflepuff girl as he softly smile and co continued"I only really talked to her when she was with my friend. Alexa Mackenzie, do you know her?" Henry wondered if Lucia did, he gussed that she did since the two woild be in the same house and dueling team but he didn’t assume. After all, Henry didn't know all the Slytherin's or everyone on the Viridian vipers so he couldn't assume the same of Lucia.
Henry knew how it felt to lose someone you cared for, lookimg at the girl Henry softly spoke"I'm sorry about, Alina. That musr be hard to lose a friend to another school," looking at the girl for a moment before looking away at their classmates. Noticing them practicing wand movements, Henry thought about asking which spell they were doing but decided aginest it. He could go to the library later and would probably be able to keep his O grade in the class.
Henry nodded toward Lucia's comment on astronomy class, the lad wasn't sure if he saw her before in that class but thought hufflepuff had it wirh slytherin since he sits with Logan for most of the class.

Henry knew Alexa! Lucia nodded vigorously. "Yeah, I do! She's my best friend." Lucia suddenly wondered if the idea of a 'best friend' was supposed to be childish. Did cool people have best friends? Why wouldn't they? No, having a best friend wasn't childish. Probably. But, saying it, Lucia did feel a little bit like a proud eight-year-old or something of the sort, which just made her feel even more embarrassed as her cheeks flushed a little.
At Henry's next words, Lucia also nodded. "Yeah... but it's okay. We still owl and stuff; we're still friends." A smile bloomed across Lucia's face again. Alina was happy, and Lucia liked it when people were happy. People being happy made her happy, in a way. "And she's at the same school as her twin now so that's good." Alina and Bella had been growing apart ever since the latter was sorted into Slytherin and the former into Hufflepuff, even before Bella had moved to Beauxbatons a term before Alina. Beauxbatons didn't have houses, so the Rosier twins would now be able to mend their relationship without having to deal with the fact that Bella had gotten what she wanted, and Alina hadn't. (Well. Alina hadn't wanted it at first - Lucia certainly knew that - but Hufflepuff had grown on her so much that she'd joined the duelling team with Lucia and Alexa at the start of their second year.) "Do you have any siblings?" Lucia asked Henry, curious. "I've got two sisters, both younger."
