A Colourful Encounter

Hogwarts was a delightful whirlwind of new faces, classes and interesting activities, all making for one heck of a first year. Cosmo was certainly grateful for each new opportunity the school presented... but her old hobbies seemed to be falling by the wayside slightly. It felt as though she hadn't done anything creative the whole year and that just would not do. So on the first full day of camp, which happened to be Monday, Cosmo packed up her paints and a big roll of butchers paper, excited to create.
Monday also happened to be her twelfth birthday, but it had never really been an occasion to make a big deal about back home, so she thought nothing of it - merely hoping the weather was nice and to have a calm day. Nice was an understatement, the sun shone down making the lake glitter and Cosmo stood for a moment, basking in the glow. It wasn't often in Scotland that you hit the twenty degrees mark, but today was one of the few. People were outside already, making the most of the sunshine and although Cosmo wanted to catch up with her friends later, this morning was meant to be a little more quiet, so she walked down and away from where the crowd was thickest.
Eventually, halfway between the lake and forest she found a perfect little ring of smooth stones that someone must have rolled together to be sat on. She smiled, and began to set up her supplies. It was exciting to finally have a blank sheet of paper and so many colours in front of her again. Cosmo wondered what to paint and eventually settled on a patch of wildflowers not far off, she hummed while mixing colours - completely content.
