Welcome to the Hippogriff Cabin

More people joined in, and no Galton. Hugh softly grumbled under his breath before turning his attention to the newest arrival. A girl whose face seemed familiar. The part-giant had to think for a bit, likely staring at her a bit too intense and too long before opening his mouth. "You were at the train wreck." He'd blurt out without pretence of joy. That night was horrible to all he could remember. "Anyway, yes, of course you're welcome." He'd give her a smile and a nod to make sure the point got across. He was trying his best to stay as amicable as possible. "It's a pretty nice room, I'll admit." He agreed with Starlee whilst pocketing both his hands.
Winnie on the other hand described a much nicer room than what he felt used to. Giving her an impressed look, he left his mouth agape as he tried to imagine the Ravenclaw dorms in his head. He had to shake his head as he was attacked with a barrage of names. "Uhm... I think I know a few of those? Though none of them really are my... friends. I don't have many- Well- you know."
And another kid approached them. This time it was one of the new Russian ones that had come over. He was awfully friendly for a new guy, especially one from another school. Hugh shot the boy a suspicious look from under an arched eyebrow. "Good day. The name's Hugh." He'd shortly reintroduce himself to try and be polite. From the corner of his eye, he finally saw him. Galton, his best friend, had eventually made it past the platters of cupcakes. Hugh should have known it would have been a test for the little guy to leave some for the others as well. "And took you long enough to get here..."
Then the final arrival seemed very familiar with Winnie. Which was obviously on the account of them sharing the same house. His eyes immediately shot over to Starlee at the mention of a potential defeat for Slytherin. He cleared his throat and clapped his hands. "Well. That remains to be seen. I played against that house in Quidditch before, and they were certainly formidable then." Giving the one Slytherin in the room a nod of confidence, he turned around and sat back down on the bed. He did not know how they were in duelling at all, but they made it this far, surely there was some skill involved in getting here.

Welcome to the Hippogriff Cabin
Eirian had never been to a summer camp before. Her July was spent catching up with her parents and spening a lot of time making up her absence to all her pets whom she had missed a great deal. Especially Rhoswen, her St Bernard, who had accompanied her pretty much every time she went outside all month.
Her parent's had been a little disappointed that she would be leaving a whole moth earlier, but Eirian was wildly excited to attend a summer camp at school for a whole month. She was unsure what to expect exactly, but having been through at year at Hogwarts she suspected that it would be hectic and very possibly go off the rails.
Upon arrival, she was practically vibrating with excitement. The cabin she had been assigned to- Hippogriff- was very nice. She imagined that with all the reds that Gryffindor's dorms might have been similar.
She was glad she knew the adult in charge of the cabin as her Head of House, and found the snacks laid out welcoming. She was also glad to recognise a friend among the group entering the cabin in Luka.
Her first order of business after Professor Jensen welcomed them was to claim a bed and deposit her things in the trunk at the end of it. She did it quickly and rather carelessly, excited to move on to other things.
Immediatley after, she returned to the table to try one of the cupcakes that Professor Jensen had been so nice as to leave for them.
"The cupcakes are great, thank you Professor!" she called cheerily to her before joining the group of students talking to one another.
"Hi, I'm Eirian! A second year Slytherin," she introduced herself happily to the group. "I don't believe I've met any of you before- other than you, Luka. Happy to see you again, by the way- but I'm glad to make your acquaintances."

Welcome to the Hippogriff Cabin
Letters would arrive, simple small white envelopes that were sealed with a drop of wax and a singular divot reminiscent of the side of a quill. The letters were for the Ravenclaws housed in this cabin. Identical in raw form, their names written individually on their own personal envelope.
Put an end to one more thorn.
Oddly enough her name was crossed out. Her letter was crumbled up and left outside. For the sake of narration it was found all the same.Winnie Harper
Aeron Frey
They would be found there first thing in the morning on Aug 8, whoever had dropped them off had done so at an incredibly early hour. If one must know, it was a little after five in the morning. The letters were pushed under the front door and awaited the Ravenclaws when they rose.Dealla Prince
For those that were aware, that had paid attention over the past year, no several. The message was obvious and clear. For those that had not paid attention, had the good fortune to avoid the drama and mayhem, were simply too new to know the terrors that awaited them in the wizarding world away from the diligent protection of their parents, they would be left with a mystery to solve in a matter of mere hours. Ravenclaws were the sort that always enjoyed a good riddle, a bit of intellectual flair to their otherwise humdrum days. The promise of a mystery, a puzzle, something to solve would be enough to draw them out.The dead have risen and have rushed into the darkened wood. Welcome to the Hippogriff Cabin
Interacting with @Starlee Kennedy, @Hugh Lowe, @Winnie Harper, @Dealla Prince, @Galton Lansdale, @Eirian Blake and open to other interactions
Mentioning @Kazuo Shimada as Luka and @Hjørdis JensenCamping certainly wasn't Martyna's first choice when it came to holiday activities. Things could get muddy pretty quickly with the limited shower access, there was little privacy when things got too emotional and bugs were a welcomed expectation rather than an unfortunate coming-across. Anything, however, was better than spending yet more time at home with Patrick sending her dirty looks across his cereal for something completely beyond her control. It was frustrating just thinking about how the onus of him not being magical was being pushed onto her. What should have been enjoyable time spent with her family ended in squabbling, undeserved silent treatments, and wishing more than ever that she could just be back at Hogwarts where pure bloods were all she had to worry about. Oh, and occasionally near-death experiences.
Thankfully, Tina had been placed in what had to be the most luxurious cabin ever. The private bathroom and kitchen were the absolute cherry on top of the stunning, albeit slightly extravagant, décor, and Tina couldn't help but wonder whether certain students had been given preferential treatment (not that she would complain if she was the one benefiting). She didn't pay much attention to Professor Jensen's introduction of the cabin, easily distracted and far too excited to listen to any admin stuff, instead rising up on her tip toes to glance about the room in search of familiar faces. She hadn't seen the list of Hippogriff residents, and if she'd been given one she'd lost it, and so her eyes were all she had to rely on.
Huge Lowe - an unfamiliar third year boy - stood out the most, not that he could help it. Briefly, Tina was grateful that she was less than five foot and not seven, as she found her eyes naturally drifting to the half giant and those surrounding him; the ginger girl who was about her size with a pretty jump suit on and the brown haired girl beside her, ruffling her hair, the short, dark haired boy with a face full of cupcakes, the pale-skinned girl with black hair who she didn't recognise but was also a second year, the pretty blonde boy with an accent that seemed more interested in Professor Jensen (not that she could blame him) and finally-
Was that Starlee?
Tina clasped a hand over her mouth to prevent herself from squealing with joy (not being completely loud all the time was something she was beginning to master). From the side, she looked a lot older, but it was still very obviously Starlee, only with a fringe to boot. The way it fell over her eyes made them look darker and more mature, almost like she was wearing make up. ...Was she? It made Tina want to cut her fringe back, but she'd spent so long growing it out and felt like she couldn't go back. Trying her best to stay small, Tina slowly but surely crept up behind Starlee, her lips pursed shut in a smile, and then reached up and wrapped her arms around her shoulders, clinging tight!
"BOO!" she shouted, probably a little too close to Starlee's ears to be speaking at such a volume, even if her intention was to surprise. "How come I didn't see you on the train?" She quickly released her, waiting for her Slytherin friend to spin around as she stared up in excited awe. Her amazement was absolutely genuine, and she expressed it with a voice that slowly increased in volume and pitch as she exclaimed- "First though, that fringe looks sO GOOD ON YOU! YOU'RE SO PRETTYYY! AHHHHH!"
Realising that the polite thing to do in such a situation as this was probably not interrupt the conversation with screaming and actually talk to everyone else in the group, Tina offered a sheepish grin, locking her hands together behind her back and rocking onto her heels.
"So... you guys were talking about duelling?" Tina offered, mostly referencing Dee's comment. She did have a brief stint with the sport at the start of the New Year, but had stepped down after an embarrassing defeat, realising that going in as a first year probably wasn't the wisest idea, especially a first year who struggled with casting. With one hand, she patted Starlee roughly on the back, whilst the other reached for one of those cupcakes... "I think Slytherin's got it in the bag, especially with Star on their team!"
She unwrapped the cupcake, taking a bite.
"Swimming Day is gonna be AMAZING though. Plus all the barbeques. Plus we have the BEST cabin hands down." God she was excited. So excited in fact, that it was only a second later, with a mouthful of cake, that she realised she'd yet to introduce herself. "Mmmf- Am Maw-teena, boy 'de way. Mmf- Martyna but Tina! Just Tina is what I like."Reduciooutfit of the day~

Welcome to the Hippogriff Cabin
Interacting with Everyone Present
Specifics - @Winnie Harper, @Hugh Lowe, @Dealla Prince @Martyna Romero
It seemed her confidence was paying off, or perhaps the people she was talking to were simply just nice, but the three of them seemed to be hitting it off already. 'Winnie from Ravenclaw and Hugh from Gryffindor...' she repeated in her head. She recalled the amount of names on the list, realizing now that her ineptitude for remembering names was not going to come in handy. Not just that, but houses were practically a part of a student's identity at Hogwarts, but it was another thing to remember on top of houses.
She was shaken from her inner monologue by two rather foreword remarks from both Winnie and Hugh. Winnie quite forwardly complimenting her name, and Hugh bluntly asking if she was at the train accident. Starlee was used to getting compliments on her name, but this was was so much more detailed of a compliment than the typical 'Wow your name is so cool and unique!' She ended up blushing at the girls words, her confidence pushed aside as she returned a more meek "Oh, thanks Winnie... your name is pretty cute too..." She was going to mention how it was really more of a family tradition that, even though he was disowned, his father decided to continue, but Hugh's abrupt comment caught her off guard.
"I- Yea, I was at the train wreck." She replied, responding in the same joyless tone that Hugh had said it in. She really hadn't been expecting to bring this up here and now, and she looked down at her feet, attempting to gain some control of her feelings. She was still pretty emotionally volatile after yesterday, and bringing up some of the instances where she felt useless wasn't helping her emotional state. She added in a small "Thanks." when he said she could join them, and his smile seemed quite genuine.
She tried to listen as Winnie listed off a bunch of names, none of which sounded familiar. Well, maybe the last one, but that was also due to that horrible train incident, in which she desperately wanted to forget about now. She agreed with Hugh about the Ravenclaw dorms, adding her own thoughts. "Yea, wow, that sounds beautiful Winnie. Ours is... very dark. Seeing beneath the lake is cool, I guess... but I would much prefer something lighter..." she was really struggling now with the whole confidence thing. Weren't her bangs supposed to help with that?
It was then that their small trio began to grow. Luka, a student from Koldovstoretz joined in and Starlee was happy to greet him. "Welcome Luka! I'm Starlee." Then another boy Starlee recognized from the train incident appeared, and it seemed that, similar to the train, he headed directly for the food. She would nod to Galton with a smile.
A girl name Dee arrived, adding into the discussion about summer activities. Starlee grew excited when swimming in the lake was brought up, but her happiness turned sour when Dee mentioned that the other schools would be crushing the Slytherin winners. She vaguely recognized Dee, but she certainly knew Starlee's duelling status, which meant Dee was mostly likely a duellist herself. She closed her eyes for a moment, briefly summoning the power of the bangs, before responding, "A crushing defeat you say? I don't think soooo~" she sing-songed at the end. "Perhaps you are just a bit bitter that Ravenclaw didn't win?" she returned Dee's playful jabs, but really Starlee wouldn't have a way to hold her ground, seeing as the one duel she was in, she lost. She planned to change that this time. Hugh mentioned that the Slytherin Quidditch team was formidable, and Starlee nodded furiously. Anytime Quidditch was brought up, Starlee would think of Cash, and could go on for days about it, but she refrained herself.
Another girl joined in, this time, it was someone she barely recognized in passing from the Slytherin Common room, but never officially met. "Hi Erian, I'm Starlee! Another Slytherin. Nice to meet ya!"
It wasn't but moments after this introduction that a loud "BOO!" came out of nowhere, directly next to her, and arms collided around her from behind. She shouted in return, jumping a small height and looking behind her to see Tina holding her. Her look of concern transformed into sheer joy as she yelled, "Ahhhhh! Tina!" Just one month away was simply too long to be apart from her best friend. When she was released from the backwards hold, she would turn to give Tina a full on hug, as Tina asked about where she had been on the train, and gushed about her new bangs. "Awwww, thank you Tina!" she blushed, excited to have her excitable partner back. "I think they look great too," she raised her hand to 'fluff them up,' while beaming brightly back at her. "And... well... the train..." She began, stammering in a bit of embarrassment. "I- er... Well I was waiting for you... but... well... so there's a boy... I'll... I'll tell you about him later!" she said, blushing the entire time. This was certainly something to discuss more so in private, or, at least, not around a bunch of people she had just recently met.
They returned to the chatter of the group, Tina adding in her thoughts that made Starlee blush again. It really was great to have your own 'hype-woman,' especially when it came to trying to feel confident. "I don't want to overestimate the foreign students, but I think we've got a great shot at winning!" she smiled back.
She took a couple more bites of her cupcake as Tina continued, nodding along with her. She really couldn't believe their luck. Everyone in their cabin seemed nice so far and she got to finally stay with Tina. This would be the perfect summer camp.

Welcome to the Hippogriff Cabin
Xander was finally here at Hogwarts, but not fully in the actual school for another month, but he was here and ready nonetheless. He arrived via the Hogwarts Express train as did many of the other students wh were here, attending the Summer Camp that they were offering. Xander collected his trunk and looked around as he exited the train and looked for a direction where to go. He was herded with all the other students going into their 1st year of Hogwarts, and was told he will not get sorted into a house until the actual school starts, so for now he along with all the other soon to be 1st year students, would remain houseless for the next summer.
Xander dragged his trunks to the campground and looked around as he looked at the scenery this place had to offer, which was beautiful. Xander and all of the other campers, new and old, were all informed of the rules of the campgrounds, as well as what the bunking situation was going to be. Once the rules were told, and everyone was getting registered for their cabins, Xander was placed into the cabin with the nickname Hippogriff. Xander was very excited to start his month of camping at a magical camp, he had been regular camping before, but this was going to be his first time with magic. This was going to be his first everything with magic, as a matter of fact.
Xander dragged his trunks over to the Hippogriff Cabin, and stopped himself and took a few deep breaths. He wasn’t going to know many people, besides the group of people he had met on the train, but what were the chances of them getting put into the same cabin? He was very nervous as he wasn’t the best at making new friends, sure he loved having friends it was the making part that made him nervous. He then walked in with his trunks and looked around and gave everyone a slight nervous smile, before looking around the inside of the cabin a bit. Xander saw there was a boys side and a girls side, he moved towards the boys side and found a bed on the far side of the room, where there didn't seem to be many others, and started to put his things away.

Calypso meandered across the lawn of the Campgrounds, incredibly pleased to be backat Hogwarts. Though it had only been a month since she had returned home, the girl had been surprised how much she missed the rolling hills, bright sunrises, camaraderie, and overall wonder of her school. The train ride had been enjoyable, giving Cal the chance to catch up with friends fromthe year before. The gleaming scarlet steam engine had taken her breath away just as much as the first time. At one point, during a lull in conversation, the Gryffindor had just closed her eyes and listened to the myriad of languages floating around the Express. All had felt right with the world.
On her way to her cabin, Calypso stopped here and there to chat with her peers and teachers, and take in all the new sights. By the time she reached the cabin adorned with a Hippogriff flag to which she'd been assigned, the area had been mostly cleared. Campers were eager to claim the more desirable bunks for themselves.Stepping through the door, Cal was pleasantly surprised to find that Hippogriff Cabinwas decorated almost exactly in the fashion of Gryffindor Tower. It felt familiar and cozy, with rich red velvets and dark walnut woods. Each four-poster bed had its own thick hangings, and there was plenty of room for belongings. It even smelled a little like her common room; cinnamon and firewood and clean sheets.
Cal felt instantly at home.
Because of her leisurely pace upon arrival, there were already nine other campers in the cabin, plus Professor Jensen, the Head of Slytherin. Thankfully, there seemed to be some type of expansion charm on the place, so that it had a much bigger interior than it looked to from outside. Most of her peers were either sitting on their claimed bunks or chatting in the center of the room. Several different conversations were commencing at once, and Cal could only make out a few coherent sentences here and there.
Calypso set her trunk down on a bed near a window -natural light and fresh air was her preference- and got her kitten, Merope, settled in on the blankets. Hopefully no one was allergic to cats! Though thankfully, Mer didn't shed much. The girl went over to the table set with snacks and cupcakes that Professor Jensen had apparently baked for them all. What a nice gesture! Her teacher acted all tough and indifferent, but Cal knew she cared more than she let on. She sat next to a boy eating like a tornado [Galton L.], briefly introducing herself. Calypso chose a vanilla cupcake from the platter and took a bite. Jesen had already retired to her area of the cabin. Cal would have to remember to thank her later.
After finishing her baked good, Cal made her way over to the group chatting about dueling and Quidditch. Neither of these subjects were really her forte, but she could appreciate them. And besides, she would be living with these people for a month. Best to start off on the right foot. "Hi! I'm Calypso." She paused for a minute before remembering the way Hogwarts students always seemed to introduce themselves: first and last names; quite different from how it was at home. "...Starling. Calypso Starling. You were talking about the upcoming duel? I don't know much about it. Would you mind catching me up to speed, if it's not too much trouble?"

It seems Galton’s opener question about snacks would go unanswered. It had been the perfect bait to get people talking about food and all things sweet but it hadn’t taken. Oh well, more to talk of later… No, even if they had talked about food now they wouldn’t have run out of conversation. When food was concerned Galton’s knowledge and opinions were borderline endless.
What had stuck was talks of Galton’s second passion: Dueling. It was the only thing that ever really made Galton focus and reveal a side other than… naive sugar fiend. His cabin mates were in for a real treat now. Just like with food, Galton’s opinions and knowledge of dueling could go on for quite awhile.
He waiting for an opening in the chatter, taking a munch and nibble from the cupcakes to keep from interrupting.
When there was a pause, he interjected. “Okay so Slytherin took the dueling championship for last year by winning the most matches in the three stages of duels that were held, by a clear margin too. They get to duel a bunch of our foreign friends” He took a breath and continued on. “They have a few mean teams on their side, a good amount of synergy in their pairings and are not afraid to use some of the dirtier spells like Curse of the Boogies. What a terrible spell.” He took another nibble of the cupcake and resumed his rant. “But, what will really matter for the duels are the skills and synergies of the visiting teams. Slytherin could get lucky and go against a bunch of low year opponents, or they could get unlucky and go against a bunch of higher year students. Last round Slytherin tied Ravenclaw for years of experience on the team, so it would be impressive if they were beaten there, but I would think the visitors want to throw their best up. Besides year experience team synergy matters, if the visitors can put together a few teams like the infamous Dmitri and Ruby combo Slytherin has, things will be interesting.” Galton took a moment to breathe and wipe a few cupcake crumbs from his cheeks after finishing his short tirade. He smiled to the group, waiting to hear what they’d say. Dealla and the Starlee has to have opinions on the matter.

Almost immediately Luka spied a boy as excited for the delicious treats as he was. He gave Galton a happy grin, nodding vigorously. “Hi Galton. Gryffindor, is the lion House? Is it true your Professor in charge is in a biker gang?” He asked brightly, reaching for another cupcake. He hadn’t forgotten what they’d been told the last time they visited the school, by Professor Browne, but he’d barely had the chance to ask about it at the Ball. There had been too much fighting and strangeness going on. This time, he had a whole month to ask about it and he was determined!

He glanced at Dee when she introduced herself then talked about swimming and dueling. It wasn’t that those things didn’t sound exciting but what he really wanted to hear about was whether or not they would get to play Quidditch. So when the very tall boy also introduced himself and mentioned playing, Luka smiled. “Is nice to meet you Dee. Hugh, you play Quidditch? I am Keeper for the Koldovstoretz team.” He spoke with the pride he felt, being so young and holding the position was truly an honour after all.
Finally, someone he recognized entered the cabin and he gave her a bright smile. “Nice to see you again, Eirian!” He greeted her then leaned down and whispered in a conspirator’s tone, eyes turning to look at Professor Jensen as he spoke. “Did you ever find out about the spy thing?”
Another girl entered and the girl who had been in the room when he arrived also greeted him then a boy who looked younger than the rest of them entered and quietly chose a bunk without saying anything at all. Was the boy a soon-to-be first year? “Hello!” He greeted the boy brightly, remembering how scary it had been entering his first year at Koldovstoretz.
Cupcake boy had begun to explain the duel thing and he listened attentively. It wasn’t Quidditch but dueling was kind of interesting. It made him think of his fencing matches a bit. Fencing with spells instead of swords. “If teams matter, that would put us guests at a disadvantage if we don’t have good teams here…” He spoke thoughtfully.

Interacting: @Starlee Kennedy and @Calypso Starling
Mentioning: @Hanako ToneStarlee didn't need any hyping up from her friend: she was just as pleased with her bangs as Tina was. As she fluffed them up, Tina felt the need to do a double take, standing back to admire them once again with her hands falling to her hips. They really did make her look older, cooler, and overall much more confident than the polite and reserved Starlee who she was familiar with (then again, anyone looked reserved next to her when she was blabbering away). She did feel a slight pang of jealousy at the realisation that her hair would never quite sit that way, but pursed her lips into a tight smile so as to not let those emotions through: her envious ways wouldn't be driving any more rifts between her and Star this year. She'd already promised herself that before she arrived at Summer Camp.
Before she could get too used to this new and improved Starlee model, however, the girl receded back into a more familiar state, one that was meek, shy and stammering. A red tint blossomed in her cheeks, her neck flushing from what could only have been embarrassment. Tina raised an eyebrow, her mouth subconsciously lifting at the corners so that her teeth flashed in an excited smile. Oh...?
"I- er... Well I was waiting for you... but... well... so there's a boy..." Tina fell into an open-mouthed grin. Starlee Kennedy was an absolute minx! She couldn't lie; her best friend was a stunner, and with those flashy new bangs of hers' it was only a matter of time before boys were falling over left right and center to get the chance to talk to her. Still: the cheek of this girl, abandoning her best friend to bat her eyelashes at handsome strangers on the Hogwarts Express! In all fairness, Martyna had done the exact same, only her carriage partner was Hanako Tone, who was far too insufferable for eyelash batting of any sort. "I'll... I'll tell you about him later!" Would she heck!
"How could you Starlee~?" Tina wept, feigning heartbreak with her hand placed dramatically on her chest. She straightened up less than a second later, however, unable to contain an ounce of composure for more than a short moment. Soon enough, the badger was rapidly shaking her arms back and forth in front of her and making a unintelligible, high pitched noise of pure joy, absolutely exploding with energy. All those snacks whilst sat down on the Hogwarts Express had got her pent up! Just when Starlee was adjusting back to the rhythm of the rest of the group, Tina shot a hand forward to grip her wrist (not tight enough to be painful, but firm enough to demonstrate her sheer enthusiasm at this new revelation that Starlee liked a boooyyyyy!) "No way! You are telling me about him now!" she demanded with a laugh, attempting to playfully drag her away towards the beds.
"...Would you mind catching me up to speed, if it's not too much trouble?" came the tail end of Calypso's request as they were leaving (if Starlee was complying, that is). Tina should have left this question to be answered by someone who intended to stick around and help with any follow ups the girl might have, but she was feeling impulsive and loud and wanted nothing more than to get Starlee feeling the same way.
"Slytherin duellers are going to ABSOLUTELY WRECK the exchange people in duelling, that's what's happening!" she shouted. Eh, someone else would do the rest of the filling in. As she dragged Starlee further, she began firing off questions one after the next. "Okay, okay, tell me about him, what's his name? What year is he in? Is he tall? Sorry okay I'll be quiet so you can..."Unless Starlee stops her, Tina has left the thread.
