"Because you are a muggle!"
ReducioThis takes place in Samantha's old town in the Netherlands. She grew up there and now she is back for summer break! I am going to write it in multiple parts, because I am to lazy to write it all in once xD
And it is my first solo for Samantha
Since it takes place in the Netherlands everybody is talking Dutch, but to make it easier to read I translated everything to English right away.
Sunday, 18-07-2021"Samantha?" You could clearly hear that the speaker was surprised. "I didn't expect you to come until next week! It is so good to see you!" Ambers mum looked surprised, but happy to see the young girl standing in front of her door.
"Yes, we came earlier. We decided that we wanted to celebrate my birthday here, with oma and opa." The idea to leave a week earlier had come from Samuel, Samantha's father. He really wanted to see his parents again and celebrate his daughter's 12th birthday with them.
Samantha looked at her best friends mom, who was standing in the doorway of her house. The woman was wearing a fancy dress, like she just came from work or an important business meeting. The young girl looked at her own outfit. A random shirt from her suitcase and a white pair of shorts, nothing fancy. "You haven't changed a bit! Do they feed you enough at that school of yours?" Amber's mom asked.
Samantha's smile grew thinking about the food at Hogwarts. "Yes, they most certainly do!" This was a safe subject to talk about, as long as the mother won't ask anything else about her school Samantha would be safe. Ambers mother thought, just like all of Samantha's other muggle family and friends, that Sam was going to a fancy boarding school for gifted kids. It was a lie that her parents had made up to make sure there daughter was safe. So that Samantha's magic was a secret that nobody knew of. The young girl didn't like to lie, but she understood it was the only way.
"But," the woman started talking again, "you haven't come here to chat with me, did you?" The woman was right, Samantha had come for Amber, her childhood best friend. "You are right, even though chatting with you is fun as well. I wanted to give this to Amber." Samantha held up a bag, in the favorite color of her friend, pink. In her other hand she had a yellow bag for her other childhood best friend, Lexi. The mother leaned forward to get a better look at the bags, "What's in it?"
"An invitation to my birthday for all of you, some candy and a new friendship bracelet. I also have a bag for Lexi, but then everything in yellow." She showed the other bag, filled with the same things. The friendships bracelets had been something the girls had been doing since they were 4. The first pair Samantha's sister had made, after that the girls had been making them them self. Whoever lost or broke her bracelet would have to make 3 new ones, and the ones that were still good they kept. Samantha had around 30 bracelets in her room at home, Lexi always lost hers or broke it.
"Well, I happen to know that both of the girls are at the tree-house." The tree-house! Samantha knew were that was, she could walk to it with her eyes closed, so many times she had been there. Amber, Lexi and Samantha had made it, well their fathers had done most. Sometimes Lexi or Sam would help there fathers, but most of the time they would just watch their fathers at work. When the little witch still lived in the Netherlands, she had spends most of her time there with her two best friends. The only three allowed in the tree-house were the three girls them self. They all had a little name bord, that they had made. The rule was that only those who's name was on the hut could enter.
"Thank you! I am going to the tree-house then. Have a nice day." Samantha smiled and turned around to make her way to her friends.

"Because you are a muggle!"
Part 2, the tree-houseSamantha recognized everything on the way to the tree-house. She had spend the first nine years of her life in this town, everywhere were memories. In that tree she climbed with Lexi, while Amber was standing on the ground. Lexi hadn't want to join her friends, because she didn't want to get her white dress dirty. Over there, that was where the three girls would pass by on their way to school everyday and Lexi had broken her arm. If Samantha would go to the left she would pass by her old school, but she had to turn right here.
There it was! It was just as the young girl remembered, except some little changes. Now there was a little bench in front of the hut. Amber had told about that in one of her mails. Samantha couldn't wait to see her friends again. The young girl ran the last few meters to the tree-house, while making sure she didn't lose anything out of the yellow and pink bags. She could hear her friends, she only understood some words of her friends. The words she could hear were "green", "blue" and "ugly". What where here friends talking about?
Samantha wanted to make her presence know, but before she could she was distracted by something. Her eyes fel on something that was laying on the ground. She recognized it, but that can't be! Why was it laying on the ground? She dropped the bags and ran towards it. She dropped on the ground and picked it up. It was a wooden plank, it was her name bord and it was broken. "NO!" She gasped, how could this have happened?
"I think I heard somebody, I'm going to check it real quick." Amber's voice came from the tree-house. Samantha stoop up, still holding the pieces of her name bord. Samantha could see her friends face in the doorway as Amber peeked around the corner. Well, it wasn't really a doorway, it was just a hole that was the entrance of the tree house. "Sam?" Just like with her mother, Amber was surprised. "Hi!" Samantha grinned, it was so good to see her friend again. She was so happy, but wait, her friend didn't seem so happy. Why? At first her friend had seemed surprise, which made sense, but now her friends seemed worried. Before Samantha could think about it she heard an other voice.
"SAMMIE!" It was Lexi, who had decided to take a look who was visiting. Lexi stormed down the 'stairs' passing Amber. Lexi almost jumped into Sam's arms and gave the little girl a big hug. Lexi's short blond hair came in Samantha's face, but she didn't care. Sam was so happy to hug her friends again, she didn't care about anything else.
"Weren't you supposed to come next week?" Lexi finally let go of Sam. Samantha could see that Lexi was taking her in. Samantha hadn't changed much really, maybe her hair had grown a bit, but her length was almost the same. "Heyy, what's that? What are you holding?" Samantha looked at her hand, in which she held her name tag, But before Samantha could talk Amber answered: "Nothing"
Samantha looked up, what was going on with Amber? She was acting strange, she never acted like this, it was like she was trying to hide something. Amber hadn't even smiled at her friend. Samantha knew that heir friendship had have it's better times, but she hadn't expect Amber to act like this. Ever since Sam had moved to Londen the tree girls had talked less, but they still chatted everyday. And when Samantha went to Hogwarts they emailed. When Samantha would be home in the vacation they would call and chat multiple times a day. Sam knew that there friendship deteriorated and they were less close than 3 years ago, but that still was no explanation for Amber's behavior.
Samantha looked back at Lexi, It is my namebord, I have no idea what happened to it." When Sam spoke the word namebord, Lexi's face turned as red as a tomato. "I found it on the ground." Samantha narrowed her eyes, Lexi also acted weird. "What happend to it?" She had the idea that her friends might know more about it then they were telling her.
Lexi and Amber looked at each other, like they were deciding what to tell Samantha. Apparently both of the girls had a different plan. Whille Amber said "nothing", Lexi said "I broke it." Samantha looked at Lexi in horror. "You did what?" Lexi lifted up her face and looked her friend in the eyes.
"I broke it."
