Talking to @Elowen Manglewood about London

"I love art. I'm not that great at it and I've never learned how to use a camera other than the one on my phone but I'd love to see some of your photos sometime," and he meant that. He liked to share in others interests because it broadened his world as well.

"And hey, being in a book club IS cool," he said. He didn't state it off hand but he had been one back in London so there was that. Granted, it was probably a lot of kids that didn't really have other interests or hobbies or friends but........it was a lot of other people as well.

Speaking of a lot of people. London. "London is fantastic!" he said, his smile rather bright. He did love his city. "I mean, I think so anyway. I guess for starters, I'd say the mobility. We don't need a car or I don't have to wait for my aunt to get home to go somewhere. We can hop on the metro or in a cab and be anywhere at any time." He especially loved that at night when he really could explore the city. "And places stay open later than in the rural and suburban areas. There's always something to do, something to see."

He wasn't sure how far away she was from London, but still thought he might share about the weather. "It rains a lot," and yes, that was a benefit. For someone like him who couldn't be out in the bright sunshine, a cloudy day was always welcomed.

He thought for another moment. What made London, London? "It's iconic! There's so many landmarks and museums and places to go. It's like a living city - growing, changing, evolving."

"Hmm, and our accents! Our accents are most fascinating, if I do say so myself. Especially for those that live in in the South Kensington area."

"There was a writer, poet, playwright, editor, and critic back in the 1700s named Samuel Johnson. He said:

“Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”

I think that about sums it up. You should check it out sometime. I could show you around. Show you a good time."

Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)
