@Henry Knight as Charles Alluring
In a Wizarding town in Georgia, America
Andrew Lycan was happy to be on break. It wasn't that he didn't like school. He did like learning magic most of the time. It was just the feeling of being on break- of being free to do a lot more. He could play a board game with his parents or his grandmother, he could play with his dog, and- his favorite- he could have a friend over.

Charles Alluring was one of Drew's friends that he wanted to know better. They had met barely and Drew was curious about him. He wondered how everything inside of him worked, and more about who he really was. He had an exterior of a tough Durmstrang student, but in the short time that Drew had known him, he had offered him tickets to a Quidditch game, and was quite a joking and kind person in general. They had been owling back and forth for a while, and when Drew had offered for them to meet up over the break, Charles had agreed and they had made arrangements. Drew was definitely excited to see his friend again, and felt lucky that he could invite him over.

The Wampus was currently sitting on his front step of his house. He lived with his parents, his grandmother, and his dog in Bernthold Manor, a house that went back in their family for generations. Technically, it should have been passed onto anybody but Drew's parents, but his mother had been the only child of his grandparents that had wanted to stay in the Manor. Drew was glad they had, because the Manor was such a fun place to be. It was big, with such a variety of things to do and places to be.

Buddy was sitting next to Drew, and the boy had one hand on his canine's neck. At first, his grandmother had been opposed to having such a big dog in her house, but when he insisted that he wanted this one, she gave in with reluctant approval. Buddy, at first, had broken quite a few expensive things, but through Drew's persistent training over one summer, he had refined into a very smart and behaved dog. Drew couldn't be happier with his choice of pet.

The two of them sat in silence, listening to the leaves of the plants around the Manor rustling and watching the road in anticipation for the arrival of Charles.

Alluring Manor Durham, England

Charles Alluring was finishing packing his duffle bag and backpack in his room. It was quidditch themed and nearly every inch of the white painted walls was covered in posters representing the ballycastle bats and wigtown wanders with the matching light brown ceiling. The room overall was actually clean for a thirteen year old and the brown leather bed laid in the center of the room
with sheets and pillow cases designs of the Ballycastle Bats quidditch team logo and a single red pillow also on his bed with the word quidditch. Two white painted nightstands then sat on either side of his bed, one had a lamp that had the base of a quaffle and a water glass on it while the other had a single picture of him and his family which he looked around 4 yeats old in. Three magazines about quidditch then sat in front of it.

The light shone down from a odd and sort of fancy light arrangement from the center of the ceiling and from the side window which was pretty large and even had a bench to look out on. The pillows on the bench again showed the logo of the two quidditch teams that he appeared to be a fan of, with a dresser next to it.

There was a quidditch schedule on one of the doors of the blue wooden dresser as well as a few other slips of paper, some were signed photos from players and the Dumstrang quidditch team practice schedule. Their was a calendar on the other door and the return day from Dumstrang was circled in black pen and underlined, the words said: Trip to America to visit DREW.

On the other side of the room, to the left of the door stood a single shelf in a dark blue color that held different quidditch related items and other smaller items including a few books with a banner of the ballycastle bats in front of the shelf keeping something wrapped up. To the right of the door say another blue slightly smaller dress again a few quidditch posters for the two teams were stuck to the sides with a small round mirror sitting onto it with a comb and a bottom of hair gel and black hair dye.

Right in front of his bed was his Dumstrang trunk with the school logo starched out. Then opposite of his bed sat a desk in dark blue with a leather chair. There was a single lamp and a few posters on the wall above it for the two quidditch teams again, then there were a few pens, pencils, quills, parchment, and a jar of ink scatter around the desk with a few letters from friends.

The blonde would zip up his duffle bag and stuff some quidditch magazines, tickets, and a few shirts into his backpack before zipping that up as well. Charles would look up when his door would open a crack worried that it was his father or someone else of his family but would smile a little when he saw his favorite house elf; Ruddy.

Ruddy was the nicest to Charles and even helped raised him while the blonde always treated him a bit better than the rest and showed him kindness. Ruddy was also the only one who knew Charles true destination in the house and was helping him pack and lie to his family about where he was going.

Earlier that morning he just returned from Dumstrang for the break and now he was packing to go to america to see his friend; Drew. The Ilvermorny is someone he recently met but considered to be a cool dude and was glad when he invited over for the break anything was better then spending it at home. Plus it gave Charles a excuse to see his friend again and get to know him better.

"Master Charlie are you sure your all packed. Did you forget anything? Books? Sunscreen? Shirts? Belt? Underwear? Your muggle plane ticket?" Ruddy asked as the small house elf climb up onto Charles bed so he could look him in the eye, it always amused Charles how Ruddy was the only house elf that called him Charlie.

"I have everything and I'll be fine Ruddy, relax," Charles smiled and tried to ease the house elf who continued on, " Relax? I can't relax master Charlie, this is your first time on a muggle plane and your only thirteen. Are you sure your mother can't go with you?" Charles was actually looking forward to traveling by himself and going on a muggle airplane. It always surprised him that it didn't use magic but he knew better than to say something like that at the airport or in front of muggles.

"Mother has duties here and anyway I can't tell anyone because you know they won't let me go to America, I'll be fine Ruddy our plan won't fail," Charles spoke with a half smile as the house elf ran its hands over each other and straightened his back a hit before asking" tell me the plan once more master Charlie before you depart for the break. Charles would set the bags on his bed and look over Ruddy, the house elf question did help Charles reassure himself that their plan would work as he remembered it.

"Take the floo to leaky cauldron where I'll meet uncle Luke who will take me to the muggle airport," Charles started as he still couldn't believe his owls worked to his uncle Luke and that he agreed to take him. He still didn't understand why the man would take him and not tell the rest of their family but he was thankful for him, " I'll meet up with Lucus at the muggle airport who will help me through it and help me board the plane with the ticket that you bought me earlier," Charles continued to go through the plan.

The blonde still couldn't believe that Ruddy got a him a muggle plane ticket and that his father's ministry coworker; Lucas agreed to help him through the airport however he was interrupted when he heard Ruddy's voice, " remember the time difference master Charlie, your leaving here at noon but will arrive in America at the morning," the time difference was a bit amusing to Charles as he joked" I'm going back in time almost."

Charles caught Ruddy look and nodded a bit as he spoke" When I land in America, I'll find Jacob there who will take me in a muggle care to Drew's where I'll stay for the break until Jacob comes for me a day before break is over and I have to leave," Jacob was a family friend that always like Charles and agreed to help him get to his friends house that spring holiday.

Ruddy looked pleased and nodded a bit as he spoke" excellent Master Charlie, just remember to call me on a muggle phone each night your time," Charles nodded a bit feeling a mixture or nerves and excitement as he spoke" I'm course Ruddy and thank you for doing all of this." The House elf just nodded as he flick his fingers and carried Charles's duffle bag behind him with magic as he spoke" right, come on master Charlie, your muse be leaving now."

Ruddy jumped off the bed and headed toward the fireplace room with the duffle bag following, Charles would pull the backpack over his shoulders and take a look around his room. He still couldn't believe that he was going to America.

Travels ~ Durham, England

Charles would sneak from his room and walk through the hall and down the stairs of his manor where he would enter the fireplace room. Lined with fireplaces, all connected to the floo network and in front of one stood Ruddy with his duffle bag.

Charles would approached the house elf and pick up his duffle bag in his right while in his left he took a handful of powder. The blonde wild step instead the fireplace and then to Ruddy with a smile while listening to his voice, " once you leave, I'll tell the rest that your with the Dumstrang quidditch team this holiday master Charlie." Charles would nod and thought it sounded believable but wasn't sure since he was worried that Andrew would send a owl to one of his team mates or bring suspicious to his lie.

"Stay safe Master Charlie and I'll see you in a few days," Charles would nod toward Ruddy words before taking a slight gulp and smiling a bit as he spoke" thanks Ruddy, I'll call you once I get to Drew's," the blonde then dropped the powder into the flames as he spoke" leaky cauldron." Green flames then engulfed the teen and he was gone.

Charles would be split out of a fireplace at the leaky cauldron, after a quick dusting of his clothes not really minding the dust since he would be changing once he got to Drew's anyway. Charles would look for his uncle which he would find standing by the entrance in a muggle suit.

"Uncle Luke?" Charles asked and Luke nodded to the teen as he spoke" right, come one Charles," Luke would start to walk toward a narrow and dark alleyway and Charles would follow as he spoke" thank you for doing this for me uncle, especially since we don't really know each other," Charles held onto his bags as he gave his uncle a smile who remain silent and continue the walk down the alleyway before coming to a halt and Charles stopped next to him.

Charles would feel Luke grab onto his arms and the man would use appariton. The blonde would feel a strange sensation but overall enjoyed it as he found himself standing on the edge of a muggle airport with his uncle.

"Lucas will meet you inside by the counters, have fun Charles," Luke spoke but Charles would stop him from leaving as he quickly spoke"I heard father and grandfather talk about your engagement and wedding, are we invited?" The blonde fell silent and knew that the man probably wouldn't be inviting them since they hardy saw him, "of course you guys are, I look forward to see you there. Now go before you miss your flight Charles," Luke words sounded in the teens ears and Charles smiled up at his uncle as he spoke" thank you uncle. Do you think I could hangout with Henry and Annabeth this summer holiday? I know we don't know each other and Henry probably doesn't like me from the our past run ins but I want to our relationship and get to know them better."

Luke only looked at Charles with a slight frown and stress wrinkles on his forehead, hearing his missing daughters name bought sadness to him but he didn't dare tell the his nephew as he spoke" I'm sure Henry would like to get to know you better as well, now Charles go before you miss your flight and have fun nephew."

The man would disappear with a pop and Charles would head inside the muggle airport to meet with Lucas where everything went smoothly plus a few questions from Charles.

The Dumstrang would wait a few minutes before boarding the muggle plane and take his aisle seat and prepare for the long flight. It was a first time experience and interesting for the blonde especially when they announced the time difference, it went from noon to the morning. Charles only hoped that his friend was back from Ilvermorny that earlier and wasn't leaving his school later.

Once the place would land in Georgia, America Charles would grab his bags and head out of the plane ready to meet Jacob and finally see his friend.

Travels ~ Georgia, America

Charles would find Jacob and follow him out of the airport. The whole day or rather morning has been quite the experience for young Charles especially since he was only thirteen.

After the plane ride, he would now take a muggle car to the rest of the way to Drew's. Charles say in the front seat with his bags on his lap and felt weird that the steering wheel was on the wrong side and that everyone drove on the world side as well.

Charles was a bit freak out and shared his concerns with Jacob who just laughed and explained him the reason.

Along the drive to the wizarding town where Drew lived, Charles would asked Jacob multiple questions about America and Georgia and Muggle cars and the road and different muggle items. Charles wanted to know the answer to a lot of his questions there rather than wait and waste time by asking Drew when the two could be doing something fun instead.

Arrival ~ Bernthold Manor

Charles would look out the window with a smile as they passed through the gates of the manor. He couldn't believe that he was actually there, in America and soon to be with Drew.

"Their manor is quite spectacular and large isn't it," Jacob said and Charles smiled a bit it was rather spectacular but the blonde was used to large manors after all he lived in one himself.

"It is I guess but it's the same size as the Alluring manor and manors don't matter anyway, I'm here to have a fun with my friend," Charles replied to Jacob which it was true. The Dumstrang was used to large and flashy manors so he wasn't here for any of that, he was there to have fun on his spring holiday with his friend and create memories together.

As the car pulled around and drew closer to the front steps, Charles saw his friend sitting on them with a large dog. Instantly Charles smiled and looked over at his friend from the car when he heard Jacob's voice" I forgot the Alluring Manor was just as big as the Bernthold," Charles felt the car come to a stop and pulled his backpack over his right shoulder only and grab his duffle bag in his left hand as he turned toward Jacob.

"Have fun with your friend, I'll see you in a few days," Jacob spoke and Charles nodded as he replied" thank you and I will." Charles would open the car door and step out, closing it behind him before turning toward his friend and smiling at him.

"Drew! Am I glad to see you," Charles spoke as he started to walk toward his friend the same time the car pulled away and drove off from the manor.

Charles would drop his duffle bag on the ground and pull his friend into a half but tight hug before letting go as he spoke" thanks for inviting me, this holiday will surely be grand," Charles couldn't wait to stay having fun with his friend but saw his dog and kneel down as he put a hand out to it slowly before speaking[colod=#804040]" is this your dog? Buddy right?"[/color] It was a large breed but Charles thought it was cute and if it would allow him then he would scratch it between the ears as he spoke"Your dog is cute, Drew definitely better than having a elder brother," Charles would look up to his friend with a smile and half laugh.

Charles would stand after petting the dog if he allowed it and would pick up his duffle bag as he spoke" so what first Drew? Also is there a place I could drop my bags and change?"

A car came through the gates! It drove up the road towards him, and Drew stood up to grin and wave at his friend. Buddy stood up, too, and his tail wagged as he picked up on his owner's anticipation and excitement. He gave a bark and a little jump, excited to meet whoever was coming to visit with them. He didn't even know Charles yet.

He saw him come out of the car. Charles was here! And he was wearing a lot of black. Okay- he was wearing all black. It was one of those moody teenager things, he noticed. Either they actually comfortable in black, or they were just trying to be cool by wearing black. It was just a teenager thing that happened with kids his age. But he was pretty sure that the former was true in this case, with Charles.

Drew didn't have a tail, but if he did, it would be wagging just as fast as Buddy's was.

Drew went to go greet his friend, calling, "Charlie! Good to see ya!" Buddy got there first, however, coming up to the boy and sniffing his shoes, and then looking up at Charles and doing his own doggy version of a smile. "Of course!" he said, smiling. "It'll be great to have you over here! No- it'll be grand," he smirked a little at Charles' very fancy wording. His instinctual reaction on coming up to somebody was hugging them, but he held himself back a little. "Are you a hugger?" he asked. If he said no, he would brush it off and move on, but if he said yes, he would approach him and they would share a bearhug. As much as Drew liked hugging people, he didn't want to do it without their consent or to make them uncomfortable.

"How was your trip? I bet it was a hassle getting over here, huh?" he asked. Wherever Russia-adjacent place that Charles lived, it definitely wasn't here in America, and it was a long way away. He knew it was kind of hard to come all the way from Bulgaria(?) and he appreciated Charles being willing to go through it to see him.

As Charles knelt down to interact with Buddy, the dog's tail wagging increased in speed. "Yup. That's Buddy Lapus Lycan the Third. The first Buddy was a fish and the second was a hamster." Buddy would sniff Charles' hand a little, and then pushed his nose into it, panting happily at the attention and the scratches between his ears. He was a pit bull terrier- a gray one. He laughed a little at Charles' comment that a dog was better than an older brother, and that Buddy was cute. "He sure is." Drew disagreed a little with the first one, though- he wouldn't trade his dog for anything, but it sure would be nice to have a brother.

"Yeah! Is there anything I can help carry, or are you good? Come on in," he said. He led Charles up to the front door, then paused. "Oh- yeah, just to warn you, my grandma probably baked you cookies and is gonna hug you." He beckoned a little to his friend, and opened up the front door, revealing the big entryway.

It was golden and black and quite pretty. Drew spread his arms, and turned around to walk backwards. Buddy trailed after the both of them, licking at Charles' hand a little, then bounding towards Drew to follow him. "Welcome, Herr* Alluring, to Bernthold Manor." He turned back around so he was facing forwards, and led him up the left side of the staircase. "This way- I'll show you to the room you'll be staying in. It's really cool, and I think you'll like it. Technically, you could have just been in my room, but we have extra rooms, so I thought- why not give you your own space, ya know?" He grinned at his friend. Up on top of the staircase, there was a circle with a rail on the edge, with doors all around, and two hallways leading off to other side. He led him to the left hall, and then down a door in that hall.

"This is your room," he said. He opened the door, then stepped back, to let Charles in first, coming in after him. "Make yourself at home. There's a bathroom and stuff so you can do all your stuff and get situated. I'll wait for you at the bottom of the stairs, if that's okay with you, bro?"

Charles smiled at his friends response and also to the dog's response, watching it sniff his shoes before look up at him.

Drew's use of the word; Grand didn't strike the blonde as odd or anything. Charles was used to hearing those those of words back home so it sounded familiar to the boy as he replied" it surely will," however he would listen to his questions and think over it. Normally the boy wasn't a hugger or much for physical contact but Drew was a friend so he suppose why not, he was all for physical contact with friends.

"I am," Charles replied then felt Drew hug him and naturally the blonde hugged him a bit tightly back before the two would depart and the hug would end. The conversation however would continue and Charles smiling both at his friend and gray dog.

Charles smiled at Drew's question and found the trip to be rather manageable minus any word looks others gave him for being a teenager traveling alone as he replied" the trip wasn't that bad, I got to ride in a muggle airplane for the first time and I still can't believe they don't use magic to make them fly anyway now you have to visit me in Durham sometime," Charles smiled already planning the next trip. He traveled to American to visit Drew and now the blonde would get his friend to travel to England to visit him although his family would be more of a question with allowing it.

Charles turned his attention back toward Drew and listened to him talk about his dog while Charles kneeled down and was stretching him between the ears. The blonde tool another moment before standing up and looking back at Drew as he spoke" three pets? Someone is a animal person, maybe I should call you creature boy instead," Charles grinned as he thought of all the animals his friend had own and wondered what happened to them if they passed away from old age or something else.

" I'm good mate," Charles replied as he carried the two bags over his shoulders and followed Drew to the front door with Buddy trailing behind his friend as they continued their conversation and Charles replied" cookies sounds nice and a hug sounds okay," Charles was a bit taken back by Drew's grandmother and questioned why the lady would bake cookies and hug strangers, wasn't she busy or didn't she have duties to do around the house like his grandmother.

Upon entry to the manor, Charles watch Drew walk backwards and listened to his welcoming. Looking around, the size wasn't that different than the Alluring manor but the color was pretty different. The Bernthold manor was golden and shone with light while the Alluring manor had a rather dark interior and didn't include much light or gold for that manor.

Charles nodded to his friend as he followed him and talked about the rooms prompting for Charles to say" I have to see your room now Drew," giving his friend a grin as he followed him up the stairs then down the left hall then to the room.

Stepping into the room and looking around instantly Charles felt weird, it was a darker theme and reminder him of the Alluring manor which he would have rather not thought of but shook away the thoughts as he nodded toward Drew and spoke" got it, it shouldn't take me to long bro." Using the same American word that Drew used even if it sounded weird to him.

After Drew would leave, Charles would shut the door and throw both his duffle bag and backpack on the bed deciding to unpack later as he unzipped his backpack and pulled out a red shoe sleeve shirt now that it wasn't as chilly there ad it was at the muggle airport.

Charles would slip off his jacket and black shirt, then slip on his red shirt. Smiling a little as he empty half of his backpack onto the bed, in a attempt to look for the gifts that he brought for Drew and his family.

It wasn't a lot and Charles wanted to show Drew his thanks for letting him come that holiday so he found a few items in muggle london and diagon alley that he thought Drew and his family might liked and bought them with his father's money. The first item was a rubber dog toy in the shape of a weight, he knew how much his friend loved his dog and remembered Drew lift weights so he thought the toy would be perfect.

The next two gifts were picked out for Drew's parents and grandparents. There was a diamond bracelet for Drew's grandmother, Charles wasn't sure what the lady was like but knew his grandmother likes jewelry so Drew's might be the same as well. A London mug from a shop that Charles saw in muggle London and he thought the gestured could be nice seeing as he was struggling with a gift for his parents.

The last few items were for Drew which Charles had quite the fun picking out. The first item for his blonde friend was a brown cowboy hat that Charles got because his friend was from America and he was told cowboy hats were American. Someone should probably inform the boy that they weren't. The next item is a crochet bunny rabbit in a green hoodie that Charles figured Drew would like even if it wasn't his style. The next was a key chain, a friendship key chain where Charles had the other half and the young Dumstrang was started to trust people and have friends. The last item was four tickets to the next wigtown wanders quidditch match since the young Dumstrang told his friend he would get him tickets.

Charles grabbed the items out of the bag and then would briskly walk toward the door with a smile on his face, opening it and remembering to close it before walking down the hall then downstairs where he saw Drew waiting.

Charles would stopped right next to him and grin a bit as he spoke" I still want to see your room mate," the young Dumstrang then handed the three gifts to Drew as he spoke" just something to say thanks for having me. Ones for you, ones for Buddy, and the third is for you parents and grandparents," Charles grinned a bit toward his friend and couldn't wait to start having fun with him as he asked" what next Drew?"

If Charles hadn't been a hugger, Drew would have been, secretly, kinda sad. It always made him happy when he was able to greet his friends with a hug. He laughed a little. "I know, right?!" he blurted, in response to Charles' comment about airplanes. "How do muggles manage to do all this stuff without magic?" He smiled at his friend. "You betcha." It definitely would be fun to spend a break with Charles, like Charles was with him. Hopefully his family would be okay with one extra boy around, right?

(And, by the way, Drew had no clue where Durham was, but apparently that's where Charles lived.)

"How do you like America so far?" the Wampus asked his friend. "Everybody talks like me, and almost seventy percent of the population is overweight. Nice, right?" The American had some extent of pride for his country, but that didn't mean that he couldn't joke about all of its flaws.

Drew rolled his eyes. "Creature boy? That's the best you can do? And, by the way, Buddy Lapus the first and second are no longer with us," he said, with an extra ounce of drama and a hand to his forehead, as if he was about to faint. He had been sad when they had passed away, but he had gotten over it by now. They would always be missed, but it was just a fish and a hamster.

He smiled. "Her cookies are the best, though. I hope she made chocolate chip..." Then he opened the door, letting Charles in. He knew Charles was quite and observant person, so he let him look around and take it all in. "Don't worry, I'll show you my room after this."

As he took Charles to his room, he made a point to look his friend in the eye and said, "I thought it would fit you a little better than the other rooms we have. Make you feel a little more at home, you know? But I also know that your home isn't really an awesome place, so just say the word and you can stay in a different one, or bunk with me, if you'd like. You are our guest, after all." He smiled. He really hoped that Charles knew that it was no trouble at all to bring him to a different room. Drew just really wanted his friend to be comfortable here.

Drew came out the door, and Buddy followed him, disappointed when the door closed. He sniffed under the door a little, and then Drew said, "Come on, Buddy, let's go downstairs." Drew did as he had told Charles he would, sitting on the bottom step and waiting for his friend to finish getting settled.

Charles came down the steps, and Drew stood up. Charles had gotten them gifts! That was so sweet of him. "Aw, man, you didn't have to do that."

He took the dog toy in his hand, smiling, and then holding it out to Buddy. Buddy sniffed it a little and took it in his mouth. He looked extremely happy to have a toy and he bounded away. Drew smiled. "He's gonna go show it to my grandma. He's such a quirky dog," he said with a laugh. It was true- when Buddy found something that he liked, he liked to run around with it and show it to everybody that he could.

Drew then took his own presents in his hands. The first one he saw was the cowboy hat. He put it on and ran his finger over the top of his hat, like a cowboy would do. He laughed a little. "You know that not all Americans are cowboys, right?" he asked, lightheartedly. The other gifts for him were a bunny with a green hoodie on,("OmygodCharlesthisissocutewhattheheckthankyou!") and a keychain. Drew couldn't help but smile at what was on it. "Partners in Crime," he whispered. "No matter where. Aww, Charlie. Thank you." Even though this was before their amazing musical debut at the Blossom Ball, it was so fitting. He came forward to bro-hug his friend once more.

Charles may look rough on the outside, but Drew didn't doubt for a single moment that he had such a big heart. He was so thoughtful and kind, and even if they wouldn't have conversations about sentimental things and/or tell each other they loved one another or whatnot, they still... did. Charles was one of the closest things that Drew would ever get to a brother, and while he was staying, Drew would have a brother. Even if it wasn't for his lifetime or anything, at least it was for a couple of weeks. Merlin, he was so grateful for his friend Charles. "This is so thoughtful of you," he said. "I- thank you so much."

Changing the subject away from emotions and stuff (real men don't cry and all that crap), Drew said, "Uhm, my parents are working today but they should be around for dinner, so we can give this to them then. They'll love it. Y'all over in Europe and stuff like tea, but here, coffee is like the tea but for America. They'll love drinking their coffee in this," he said with a smile. He put the mug down on a table nearby, still holding the bunny and the keychain in one hand, and still wearing his hat. "And my grandma..."

Just then, an older woman came through the middle of the grand staircase, followed by Buddy. "Oh, Charles, you're here. How lovely to meet you." Not asking like Drew had, she came up to him and pulled him into a grandmotherly hug. Her hugs were one of those hugs that made you just want to let her hold you forever. Anyway, she pulled back and got a good look at the boy. "Oh, thank you so much for coming over! Drew honestly needs somebody to uhm... what's the word you used the other day, Roo? OH! He needs somebody to hang with. I'm very glad you're here." Drew's grandmother, when he was born, had discovered Winnie the Pooh. She thought it was the cutest thing ever that "Rew" was in his name, and that "Rew" rhymed with "Roo," a character from Winnie the Pooh. All his life, he had been Roo to her, and he hadn't ever tried to change it. At least she wasn't calling him "Big D" or something. He appreciated her trying to learn his slang, but... she wasn't very good at it.

"It is Charles, right?" she asked. "You can call me whatever you want. You can even call me Gramma if you want, that's what all my grandchildren call me anyway, and if you're gonna be staying here, you're practically one of my grandchildren, right?"

Drew smiled. "Don't be pushy, Gramma. He hasn't even given you your present yet. This," he handed his grandmother the bracelet, "Is from Charles to you."

Gramma took it in her hands and, if she had been a Pixar character, would have melted into a puddle on the floor. "Charles, honey, this must have cost you a million dollars!" she exclaimed. "This is so sweet of you, thank you, dear."

Thinking back to Charles' previous question of "what next?" he said, "Okay, so how about I take you up to my room, Charlie? And then after that maybe we can grab some brooms and play Quidditch in the backyard before dinner? Buddy can be the ref."

He beckoned to Charles, taking him up to his room. His room was cozy and nice. "Usually it's not this clean," he told Charles. "Gramma and my mom tag-teamed and made me clean it before you came. Usually there's stuff everywhere." Since Charles had asked to come see it, Drew smiled, gesturing to the room and plopping down on his bed. "What do you think?"

Charles was looking forward to the break, the break from both his school and family. The blonde wouldn't have to deal with his grandparents constant compliments about him or his father's comparison of him to his elder brother. The teen wild have a break. A break that he got to look forward to. Who knows maybe a week with Drew will show Charles what having a brother is suppose to be like.

Drew asked him about American, it was a good country of course the blonde wasn't seen much yet as he spoke" it is nice," returning Drew's remarks about the accents and weight of the population with a smile as he replied" since I visited you, you have to visit me in England," the blonde wasn't sure how his family would handle him inviting a friend over but hopefully they wouldn't mind. It couldn't go as bad as when he invited Cassie over. Right?

"Would you perfer Animal boy instead, mate," Charles smiled back as he playfully shook his head a bit at the look of his friend dramatic appearance when he talked about the hamster and fish that passed away. Charles never had a pet and he didn't want one either, the blonde has never been a animal lover or fan for that matter but dogs were okay at least it wasn't a cat...

Charles followed Drew through the house, listening to him knowing that their lives were different and he spoke" and we can eat them before dinner?" Usually at the blonde's house there's one time for sweets and that's after dinner, it's a part of the meal and any other time their expected not to spoil thie meal and behave themselves.

Charles heard his friend's words and nodded to them, the room was dark and gesture decorations that were similar to ones at his home which wasn't his favorite place. However Charles was raised to be respectful and show manners no matter the situation, occasionally he broke those rules but he wanted to make a good Express on his friend as he replied" alright, the room is nice Drew. Thank you." Charles smiled toward his friend as he placed his bags at the foot of the bed and started to changed when Drew would leave with Buddy to go back downstairs.

Charles walked down the stairs carrying the gifts and beaming at Drew as he handed him the gifts and heeded his words only to reply" I was taught that you give gifts to your hosts to show your appreciation and it isn't a problem," Charles lowed his voice as he leaned closer to Drew with a smile and whispered"I pocketed some of my father's money for them and a broom, I doubt he would even notice." Charles smiled at his friend as he handed him the pile of gifts as he spoke" I hop you like yours."

Charles watched Drew hand Buddy the toy and the dog ran off, nodding toward his best friend's words and trying not to think about how odd the canine is.

Turing back toward Drew with a smile instead of his classic half grin, Charles watched him try the cowboy hat on and couldn't help a lighthearted laugh as he saw his friend in the hat. It fitted him at least in Charles's mind.

Someone informed the blonde that not all Americans were cowboys or wore the hats and he nodded as he spoke" Alright but it still looks good on you," smiling as he was a bit taken back by his friend's next remark. About the bunny in the green hood. The blonde didn't even know he was getting the bunny and saw it at the last minute and decided to spend the rest of the money he had from his father and was unsure if Drew would like it. Charles was glad that he did.

Upon hearing his friend read the key chain, Charles took his half out of his pocket and connected it to Drew's half. Partners in crime. His closet and most bestest friend besides from Cassie of course, there wasn't anyone who could replace her.

"I thought they were fitting, were partner's in crime no matter the distance," Charles grinned as he took his half of the key chain and slipped it into his pocket.

Unaware to the blossom ball performance the to would do featuring the fact that their partners in crime.

Charles smiled at Drew as he looked over at him, Drew might seem like a extroverted popular boy with the perfect life but Charles knew that wasn't the case. He knew there were other details and other parts about Drew that he didn't share, and they didn't need to discuss their sentimental situations or emotions or tell each other they loves each other to know that they did. It was a odd bond with Drew. Spending time around him felt like he was spending time with a brother. He felt like when he was with Drew, he knew how brothers were supposed to act. Drew was his brother even if they didn't share blood or live in the same house that didn't mean they weren't brothers.

They shared a hug, Charles squeezed him tight then let go and smiled at Drew as he listened to his words then replied" it's the least I can do for you Drew, thanks for being my best friend- my partner in crime," And my brother.

The topic changed. Good. Charles wasn't one for emotions or gushy things as he nodded to the comment about Drew's parents and couldn't help but ask" what do they do?" Listening to Drew continued and move onto his grandmother which is when she arrived.

"It's a pleasure to meet you madame," Charles spoke and started a bow like he was taught at home when the lady pulled him into a hug. Taken back by the physical contact and unsure what to do, Charles stood straight and didn't move until she let go.

Listening to her words and curious about her appearance and behavior, she didn't act like his grandmother. She wasn't strict or followed traditions, she was different. When the lady started her words it sounded like she was confused a bit but also there was something else. Something Charles was missing.

Charles looked over at Drew with a Rose eyebrow as he mouthed "Roo" it was odd. Did grandparents normally have nicknames for their grandkids? What did Roo mean anyway?

Charles turned back to the lady as he nodded toward her words, his personality changes while around her. Around Drew or friends he was loose and fun but around adults, particularly pureblood adults he was uptight and well mannered.

"Yes, madame its Charles," Charles confirmed his name with a hint of a nod as he then looked over at Drew. Confused on what to say next as he turned back toward the lady as he spoke"uh I'm not sure if I am, Madame," Charles felt odd being around someone who should remind him of his grandmother but was nothing like her. Odd.

Charles only nodded when Drew gave her the bracelet and she thanked him, the interaction was still odd to Charles. Unsure if he should loosen up or keep his well mannered mask on luckily Drew spoke.

"Sounds cool," Charles replied to Drew before turning to his grandmother as he spoke" a pleasure to meet you, mrs." Charles then followed his friend back up the stairs and instantly loosen up as he smiled and looked over at his friend- his brother. Smiling.

When they entered the room, Charles looked around. It was different than his, it was bright and fun. There was a bunk bed, his family would never let him have one of those. Drinks, chairs, and chess?

"Do you play?" Charles asked giving a head nod toward the chess board as he looked around the room, grinning a bit as he spoke" it's cool."

@Henry Knight as Charles Alluring <3
Charles repeated himself to tell Drew that now Drew had to come visit him in England. Apparently that's where Durham was. "Definitely," Drew said, with a grin. "I'd love to come see where you live." He didn't really mind that Charles had said it again, but it did make him wonder why. Maybe he was just telling Drew where exactly Durham was? Which, of course, was definitely very helpful. Hopefully he wasn't anxious or anything.

Drew grinned again. "Or just Drew would be fine." He didn't really want to be called creature boy or animal boy, but it wasn't like he was going to be upset or anything if he was. He didn't really care what others' nicknames for him were, unless they were extreme or something.

Charles asked about eating the cookies before dinner. "Uh- maybe. I dunno. Probably would be after dinner today, unless you're really hungry," he said, thoughtfully. Dessert was never to come right before dinner here, but if you had a cookie or two a couple of hours before six o'clock dinner, you weren't going to get yelled at or anything. It was loose, but the expectations and logic about spoiling your dinner were still there.

When he was thanked, he responded with, "Of course." Now it would be Charles' problem if he didn't like the room. Drew wasn't one to stress over other people's feelings- if Charles really wanted a different room, he would tell Drew. If not, then Charles would just have to live with it. It wasn't worth worrying about.

Apparently the gifts were just part of Charles' pureblood upraising. He leaned in to whisper something to Drew in German, telling him he had stole some of his father's money. Drew grinned, his eyebrows raising. He said in a lower voice, "Beeindruckend!" "Impressive!" Drew was impressed that Charles had managed to sneak some money from his father, and that his father hadn't noticed. "How sneaky," he said, in English. "What broom did you buy?" he asked, curious. Drew wasn't a broom whiz, but he knew a lot of general information about brooms, and he knew of a lot of different types of brooms. He was curious to which broom Charles had chosen.

Slightly pretending to be stuck-up and absorbed in himself, Drew said in response to Charles' comment about the hat looking good on him, "Why thank you." He smiled softly, running his thumb across the airplane. "It is fitting," he said, affirming his friend. No matter the distance... Charles said something sappy, and Drew appreciated it, even though he couldn't really think of anything heartfelt to say back. "Yeah, man- of course."

Drew held his presents in his hands, and then noticed the tickets. "Oh I didn't see these!" he exclaimed. It was true- in his excitement and joy about his friend, he hadn't noticed the four tickets to the Wigtown Wanderers. You could see his eyes light up again. "I remember you telling me about these when we first met. That seems so long ago now, doesn't it?" he asked, glancing up at his friend. "Oh, this is so thoughtful! Thank you- I'll have so much fun going." He really was grateful that his friend had thought of him, and felt really bad for missing them at first. But this was just such a good present, he couldn't linger on it too much. He was excited. He would love that match.

"Well- my mom is a journalist. She writes about all kinds of stuff. And my dad is a Hit Wizard. He works in Law Enforcement," Drew said, casually. There was definitely a big contrast between what his parents did. Drew didn't get to hear much about what his father did, as he was someone who arrested dangerous wizards around America. But his mother could talk for hours about just one work day, because it would probably all end up coming out in the paper anyway. "I don't think I ever asked- what do your parents do?" Drew's best guess would be some stuck-up government jobs, knowing what he knew about Charles' family.

Charles seemed very stiff around Drew's grandmother. Drew squinted a little, wondering why. Drew's grandmother didn't seem to notice (or, at least, she didn't show it). As they were walking up the steps, Drew said, with a furrowed brow and a lighthearted voice, "You know, you don't have to call her 'madame.' You can call her 'Ms. Bernthold,' or something, but you don't need to end every sentence with madame."

Charles asked about his chessboard. "Yeah! I do. Mostly I play with my dad but sometimes my family has these chess tournaments. They're really fun. My dad and I like catching up over a game of chess. I've been playing since I was little," he explained. He might not have needed to use that many words, but he did. The short answer was yes. "Do you play?" Drew had a feeling that Charles did. It just seemed a very pureblood thing to do, or to have learned in your life. Chess.

Drew grinned. "I'm glad you like it." Drew did like his room. There was just something so homely about having a room to yourself. Having a space to yourself, filled with memories and experiences. It just felt like... home. Well, the homiest part of home.

"Anyway. We have some brooms out back if you wanna get those and play Quidditch? Or maybe I can teach you a little bit of Quodpot?"

"Next holiday then your visiting me," Charles replied to his best friend with a smile, the blonde was pretty sure that having Drew over won't be as bad as when he had Cassie over last Christmas.

Charles playfully punched Drew's shoulder as he replied" everyone calls you Drew and you need a original name from your best friend so creature boy or cowboy or Andy or uh-" Charles was mauling over different names but thinking wasn't a strong suit for the blonde so he gave up and went back to smiling at Drew.

Charles raised a eyebrow at his best friend, curious on his words as he asked" but won't you get in trouble if you eat it before dinner?" Charles thought there would be, that was what he was use to at his own house. Dinner came first then dessert and if someone ate dessert before then they were usually punished with chores, lessons, or no dinner... the Dumstrang student stared at the Ilvermorny student.

Charles never cared about rooms or material items, he learned to get over his feelings and accept what he got. The room wasn't the best but Charles didn't want to say anything against it or complain so he accepted the fact and moved on. Listening to Drew's german as be waited a moment before replying in a low whisper, " a shooting star, rubbish I know but I plan to buy myself a nimbus last year that I'll let you ride," ruffling Drew's hair a bit, it was a strange sensation and even through he already had a brother, Drew felt more like a brother to Charles than Andrew was currently.

The conversation on the gifts continue, Charles silpped his half of the key chain into his jean pocket when he felt the pages that he ripped from one of the photobooks at his home to show Drew. The teen smiled at Drew, holding his hands in his pockets and keeping a straight back and posture like he was taught as a child that is now scared into his memory.

Drew had quite a bit excitement about the tickets, the team was alright but a quidditch match was a quidditch match to the boy who loves quidditch. Charles returned Drew's smile as he spoke" don't mention it and there should be enough for your whole family or a friend," nudging Drew's shoulder with his on the word 'friend' since Charles was referring to himself. What? Do you think the boy would give up a chance to go to a quidditch game? Not really likely.

Charles nodded to Drew's explanation on what his parents do. A journalist and a hit wizard. However the blonde was taken back by the fact that Drew's mother had a job, he didn't think she would or would have had duties at the manor like his own mother. Charles listened to Drew's question, took a moment then replied" my father works in international cooperation at the ministry and my mother has duties at the manor." The words Charles said were strange but having grown up in the household, he thought of it has normal.

"What? Won't she get angry if you don't refer to her as madame and what is a roo?" Charles asked his best friend as he looked around the room, it has a blue color scheme and the place seems fun and light. Almost like your could hear the laughter from within the walls or get a sense of life from.the room.

Charles listened to Drew talk about chess, apparently he played with his family and father. The boy had a solemn look on his face, a part of him wanted that relationship with his own father but it didn't last as a smile replaced it since he was happy in the current moment ad he spoke" a bit, my grandfather wanted us all to learn but I never got pass thr basics since I couldn't sit still long enough," it was true that Charles was a active and energetic child before Dumstrang.

Charles nodded toward Drew's words then replied" I did always wanted to learn quodpot," remembering the pages and taking of out of his jean pockets as he spoke" I took these from one of the photobooks and thought you might like them."

as Charles Alluring
Drew nodded, and grinned. "That would be awesome," he said. He chuckled. "You can call me whatever you want, Big C," he said, punching his friend back. It wasn't an actual punch, of course, more like a fist nudge. He wasn't sure if the nickname "Big C" would stick. Maybe he would use it seriously, or maybe he would use it ironically. Charles was only barely bigger than Drew, so it would probably be used ironically. As long as Charles didn't call him "Lil D."

Drew shrugged. "Well, I mean- When I was little it was strictly no, because I wouldn't eat dinner. You know how little kids are. But as long as it doesn't spoil our dinner and it's okay with Gramma, we won't get in trouble, really."

The blonde shook his head. A Shooting Star was a beginner's broom. It was easy enough to ride, but it wasn't like a Nimbus or a Firebolt. He could have gotten something better, but his father probably would have noticed if more money had gone missing. Maybe. It depended on how rich his father was and how obsessed he was with his money. "Oooh, a Nimbus," he said quietly, a spark in his eyes. Nimbuses were cool brooms. They looked very elegant. Also, Nimbuses was fun to say.

Drew grinned at Charles in response, a final thanks for the gifts he had brought. If Drew ever went to visit Charles, he would really need to get some gifts for Charles' family. He should probably go ahead and start looking.

Charles explained what his parents did. His father had a fancy ministry job and his mother had "duties at the manor." "What kind of duties?" he asked, curious.

Drew laughed a little. He couldn't even imagine his grandmother getting mad if he didn't call her 'madame.' "She's my grandmother, not the Queen of England. And she calls me Roo because of- well, it's a nickname for my nickname," he started, attempting to explain. "Like taking off the D of Drew," he added. "At the time I was born, my mom was going through a phase where she liked these muggle stories about stuffed animals come to life. One of the characters is this little kangaroo named Roo, so it kinda stuck." He shrugged. He didn't mind sharing the story with Charles, since he trusted Charles. He kind of liked that his grandmother called him Roo- it made him feel special.

The blonde grinned. "I can see that." It was not hard to imagine Charles not being able to sit still, bouncing in his seat while his grandfather tried to get him to play chess. It was also not hard to imagine that his older brother was significantly better than him and always boasted about it, knowing what Drew knew about his older brother. What was his name? Andrew? "It's not a very hard game, chess, just fairly boring unless you make it... un-boring," Drew explained. He wasn't very good at this explaining thing, was he? He could get close enough, though.

Drew took the photos in his hands, looking over them. First, he pointed to the most recent picture of Charles. "You look very fierce in this picture," he said. "You don't really look like you want to be there," he said, smiling. "This is Leo?" he asked, pointing to the one labeled Leonard. He remembered when Charles had mentioned him when they had talked for the first time. He grinned as he turned to the pages with smaller Charles. Most of the pictures that had little Charles in it had his brother in it. "Aw! You were so small," he said quietly.

"Sometime over your visit, I'll show you pictures of little me. My grandmother has so many pictures of us in her sitting room..." he trailed off, then joked, "It's a little creepy."

Charles was taken back by Drew's nickname for him, the blonde was still getting use to the idea of nicknames and others giving them to him. Cassie the first with 'Charlie' and now Drew with 'Big C' which was strange but also sounded kinda cool to the blonde.

Charles cracked a smile at the America, folding his arms over his chest as he spoke" alright, cowboy," it was kinda of a funny one and probably won't be use a lot but Chsrles kinda laughed at the irony at it since cowboys are American and Drew is a American. Still maybe not that name, the nickname is a work in progress...

Charles listened to Drew's words, only nodding to them. The blonde found it difficult to imagine during since he's use to following rules and a set schedule at the manor that Drew's life seemed different. It seemed like freedom. A paradise to the Dumstrang.

Finally! The brooms come into the conversation, Charles sat on Drew's bed besides him smiling as he listened to his friends words then excitedly he spoke"exactly, a nimbus is amazing and their sleek and smooth and the turns are amazingly smooth and you can go so faster faster and stop so much swiftly," the blonde continue to go on about nimbus make and model and history and details and how it can affect a quidditch match for the next couple of minutes, the one topic that the blonde knows a lot about is quidditch and brooms so he usually gets excited and can't help himself but to talk a lot when either of those subjects come into a conversation.

"Apologies, I tend to get carried away about brooms or quidditch. Anyway, when I get a nimbus you have to try it, cowboy," Charles finished with with wide grin toward Drew as he let the conversation about brooms and quidditch fade to the dispointment of the blonde who could have continued the conversation single handed for another few hours or till dinner.

Family came back as the conversation, Charles stood from the bed as he started to walk around his best friend's room looking at everything there. It was strange to see where Drew sleep and lived, it didn't appear like a typical teenagers room with the chess board, lounge chairs, and organized look but it also was Drew. Especially the blue paint, remembering how Drew's favorite color is blue.

Charles gave a smile, looking around as he spoke"supervising the house elf, cooking, going to tea with other purebloods, and a few others things I think," the blonde wasn't exactly sure what his mother did, he never asked and never had time to either with the time he spent away at Dumstrang then the summers mainly spent at lessons and training and quidditch practice.

"Shall I call her 'mrs' then?" Charles ask coming to a halt in front of Drew, turning and looking at the fellow blonde. Charles was taught manners at a young age and it was engraved in his mind to use certain words such as; miss, mrs, mr, dr, and so on for certain people. The blonde faced punishment as a child when he didn't use the words or manners so now it was a almost like a reflex when he used them.

Nodding toward Drew's story and for a koment considering calling him by the nickname but deciding not to as he replied" that's a nice story and special nickname you share with your grandmother," the blonde looked at Drew for a moment, remembering that he was barley taller than him. Actually, Charles nearly forgets that he's the oldest and tallest (barely) between him, Drew, and Cassie but yet loved to playful mention the fact around the two whenever he can get a chance to.

Charles nodded toward Drew's comments on chess, standing in front of him as he remembered getting board as a child and stop learning after he knew the basics. Andrew and Colin practiced nearly everyday to become masters and prove their skills to their grandfather but surprisingly Leo beats then in every game now.

Smiling, Charles looked toward Drew and shook his head a bit as he spoke" how do you make the game not boring?" Doubting that was possible, Charles sat besides Drew on the bed as he looked at the photos.

Charles waited for Drew to speak or ask questions about the photos if he had any, Charles peered at the four recent pictures of him, his brother, and cousins when he heard Drew's comment and question. The blonde still didn't understand why they had to take yearly portraits as he spoke"your not suppose to smile in the portraits but Colin always breaks the rule being the self absorb git that he is," following Drew's question, he found his eyes on Leo's picture and nodded as he spoke"yes, that's my younger cousin. His legal name is Leonard but mainly everyone calls him Leo."

Charles sat back in Drew's bed as he looked at the next page waiting for his voice to indicate that he's finished. Nudging Drew's side a little as he replied" the only time I was ever small, lucky for me since I'm taller than you," avoiding the part by how much since it wasn't by a lot as Charles looked over at the pages ans pointed at the one label 'summer gala 2016' and spoke" that's
Colin and I. I was rather tall than him, so Colin had to stand on the step so we appeared as the same height,"
then moving his finger to the one labeled 'halloween 2020' and spoke" Leo's costume last year," the rest were of him and his brother, as well as the picture of him before his first year at Dumstrang.

Smiling at Drew, Charles ruffled his hair a bit as he spoke" I'm holding you to that, to bring photos of little you when you visit me next holiday."
