Lots and lots of books.

It was a Sunday afternoon and Taylor thought of visiting the library. The library, out of many things at Hogwarts, was something that; one, interested her when she was bored, and two, it inspired her to do things. Sometimes she would wish all her life that the library was her home, sometimes she did feel that, but not always. Today, she made her way all the way down from the West Tower, to the ground floor. She grabbed "Hogwarts: A History" and sat down on a bean bag. Taylor sighed. What a long day! But all of her stress began to fade away as she read chapter, after chapter, after chapter. By the time it was 6:40 pm she had read the whole entire book! Wow! Taylor's eyes were very sore from straining to see through the dark to the pages of the book. Then, she saw another child pass by. It was a boy, much taller than herself with short, wavy hair and a fringe. Must be a fifth year. She thought to herself. She stared at his blonde hair for quite a while, until he turned round to her, he must of known she was there. "Uhm, can I help you miss?" He asked, coldly. "Er, I'm fine," Taylor replied and stood up, wow, he was much taller than her! She turned away from the boy to the bookshelf. "Wow, did you read all of that today?" He said, from behind her. "I- uh- I- um- Yes!" She said. "Well, you must read alot." He said, with a slight touch to his voice. He wasn't as cold as before, a sort of... lightness had his voice. Taylor didn't know what to say. No one had ever complimented her like this before. "Um, thanks?" She smiled, but the boy didn't see as she was facing the bookshelf. She quickly put her book away and back on the shelf. Suddenly, she didn't want to exit the library. She pulled another book out called "Jinxes for the Jinxed". "Wow! You're reading another one!" Exclaimed the boy. "Of course I am!" She said. "I read two books a day!" She added, to try and make herself seem smart. Well, Taylor knew that she was smart, but she wasn't extremely smart. At least that was was Taylor thought. "You're smart, I'm guessing? Oh I know you! You must be.. Taylor Bumblebee?" The boy asked. How does he know my name? Thought Taylor. Her cheeks were now blushing. "Um, yes, how do you know?" She asked. "I saw your name on the list of who comes top of the classes, I like to have a look at the first years list sometimes.." He said. "Hey, I didn't catch your name!" Taylor told him. But the boy didn't reply back. Must not of heard . Taylor thought. But had he? Well, names didn't matter! She could talk to him all night! She opened her book and looked up at the boy. "What books do you like to read?" She asked him curiously. "Well, I like reading about monsters, and the past, because it's interesting." He replied, nodding. "Well, you must be amazing at History Of Magic! The Professor must be proud of you!" Taylor said, wow, she had a friend that was just like her! Or was he her friend? "Well, I do like to read about History, it's fascinating don't you agree?" He asked her, encouraging the conversation. "Yes, well, if you like history you'll love; "Hogwarts: A History" It's great!" She said. "Oh I've read it, they must be very clever to make a spell that stops people from apparating inside the castle!" He said. "Oh yes, hey, have you seen this newspaper article? It's made by the muggles, but it's history and it's fascinating, here I'll read it, I'm surprised that mum and dad still keep this, it's from 1922, they're parents gave them it because they were interested in history too! It's also muggle related, so it's weird." She paused to show him the newspaper in her pocket and began to read; "'Sunday 26th November 1922, Yesterday, on the 25th of November 1922, an Egyptologist called Howard Carter, who was originally from Britain, unveiled a 3000 year old royal Egyptian pharaoh's tomb deep in the Valley of the Kings. This Pharaoh was called Tutankhamun. Once inside the tomb, Carter found rooms filled with treasure. This included statues, gold jewellery, Tutankhamun's mummy, chariots, model boats, canopic jars, chairs, and paintings. It was an amazing discovery and one of the most important made in the history of archaeology.' That's the start of it but the rest of it is spilt with tea, mum loves the thing. It's quite spellbinding really. It's nothing to do with Britain, but it's history." Taylor finished. "Wow, I never knew Egypt could be so cool!" The boy gasped. Taylor blushed again and pushed her hair behind her ear shyly. "Anyways, what's that book called? Eh? Hm, jinxes for the jinxed. You're wasting your time really, they're not going to let you jinx people without ending you in detention and also, why would you use the dark arts?" The boy said, this time the same cold voice as his first words to Taylor. "It's not really dark arts, is it? Well, it is sort of dark arts unless you use it for defending yourself." She found herself saying. “Who would hurt children like you.?” He sneered at her. “Look, if you don’t want to be my friend, then why don’t you just go off to your other fifth year friends?!” She said, but she hadn’t meant it. Uh oh, she thought. “Who made you think I was a fifth year?” He pondered. Wait, what.. this guy wasn’t a fifth year? But he was so tall. He looked a fifth year too. “I- What year are you then?!” She asked, baffled. "First," The boy stuttered. Taylor gave a soft 'oh!' and went back to reading. "It's getting late, I'm going now-" The boy said. "Wait!" Taylor said, hastily. "What?" The boy turned round to face Taylor again. His bright blue eyes shone. His blonde hair shook about. "We should meet up again-?" Taylor begun. "Sure, same place, same time, tomorrow?" He asked. "Yes, ok!" And the boy walked away, leaving Taylor blushing. He'd taken her copy of Jinxes for the jinxed, and had his head in it. He's not so bad after all! Taylor thought.
