It’s been a year since she last swam, she was glad that she didn’t forget how to deal with water. The blonde’s whole body was dipped into the water and her soaked long hair fell heavy on her face as she kicked and rose up as soon as she threw herself into the water. Not wanting even a single strand of hair to break out of her head, she brushed it slowly and smoothly away from her face. When glancing around, her eyes stopped on a boy who was looking at her at that moment, with her voice little louder for him to hear, “Thanks!” she grinned. The blonde was sure that the boy must be from some other school, or else she would’ve had a vague picture of seeing him somewhere.

The blonde stared at him in indecisiveness for few minutes whether to have a talk or not talk to him. There was no reason for her to not talk to him and had many reasons to. First, she would get a new friend. Second, she doesn’t have to spend time alone now. Third, she was here to socialise and not for solitary life again, and the list would go on if she didn’t stop her thoughts here. Crawling towards him, she saw a red haired girl tripped and fall, “Oh my god! CAREFUL!” she gasped as her heart raced for a moment, she breathed relief as she came to know that she were fine. Her eyes caught a glimpse of Simon’s wife Haley, she smiled brightly and waved back.

After realising what she had planned to do a few seconds ago, she doggy paddled towards the boy, “Hello” she smiled brightly, “I am Vivian” she continued hoping that she didn’t bug him, “Which school are you from?” the blonde was not good in conversing and she didn’t come up with a better question. According to her, he looked friendly and she believed that he wouldn’t roast her for annoying him in his relaxing time.

[font=times new roman]S[/font]he hit the water with a massive splash, somehow not hitting anyone below. The lake was so refreshing, she was tempted to just wallow there for the rest of the day, avoiding the hot sun and maybe joining the mermaids under the waves. But then people started talking and Scarlett couldn't possibly miss out on a conversation, could she? She could just stand in the shallower areas of the lake on her tiptoes, so positioned herself there. Then, she glared at the older boy talking to them [Arjan].

As stressed many times before, Scarlett did not trust pretty boys. Of course, some pretty boys were fine. But Scarlett's share of pretty boys recently had not been good. There was Alexei from the Quidditch match last summer, wooing her friends with his flirtatious words and then proceeding to yell at another random guy. There was Charles who had taken Cassie on a date, only to start flirting with other people. And now there was an older boy calling her an angel?

"If heaven is that diving board up there, then yes," said Scarlett, keeping her voice even but still calculating. She was working on regulating her emotions but sometimes she snapped and everything went cuckoo - hopefully it wouldn't happen at the party. She liked parties. Scarlett then turned to Opeila and noticed what she called the blush of love on her classmate's cheeks. Holy Merlin - had Opeila fallen under the older guy's spell? It certainly seemed like it. Scarlett raised her eyebrows knowingly, and with a smirk, said, "Hi Opeila - nice swimsuit."

Then, the red-head who had fallen off the diving board asked Scarlett if she was okay. "Oh yes I'm fine," she assured. "How about you though? Honestly, that fall was iconic. I might re-enact it." She grinned at the girl [Winnie]. "I've seen you around. What's your name?"

Someone else joined their motley crew - a girl who named the older boy 'Arjan'. She addressed the redhead, Opeila and then Scarlett, as 'one of Lear's'. "Yep," said Scarlett. "I'm a proud Hoggy-wart; it's actually very polite and a sign of respect to call people from Hogwarts, Hoggy-warts. I'm assuming you aren't from here? What school are you from?"

Afterwards, Charles swam up to her. He splashed her, and Scarlett splashed him back. "Later," she laughed. "I could beat you any day." She most definitely couldn't. "Oh Charles do you know - er - these two? I think - Durmstrang, am I right?" Scarlett snapped her fingers in thought at the two people who she hadn't seen at Hogwarts before. [Nikita and Arjan].

Scarlet was so excited to hear that the Black Lake would be repurposed as a swimming pool during the summer camp, she thought of soon being able to swim in the waters she was now used to seeing from the windows of her common room.

She threw on one her favourite oversized t-shirts over her olive-coloured bikini, and grabbing a towel on her way out, left the Kelpie cabin, making her way towards the lake.

She knew the weather was supposed to be hot during the month, it was summer after all, but she thought how hot could it really get this far north, clearly very hot. As she got closer to the lake she spotted a diving platform position high above the water, and caught glimpses of figures jumping off it.

The lake and the surrounding area had been completely transformed for camp, blankets with the belongings of students in the water were dotted about, baskets filled with an assortment of snacks and drinks and numerous things that looked like they could be used in the water. Scarlet dropped her towel onto an empty blanket and had a quick drink of juice she had picked up from a cooler box, trying to hopefully cool down. Though she knew the quickest way to do that would be to go for a swim.

Leaving behind her t-shirt with her towel, she made her way to the platformed area beside the lake, although she contemplated trying out the higher of the two, she remembered watching as she approached the lake, a student landing on another as they stumbled off the top. So with quick run up, she jumped off the lower platform into the dark waters below. The cold hit her immediately, not freezing, but combined with how hot she had felt before, it was enough for her to release a small shiver.

Her jump into the lake hadn't put her too far out, and she assumed there was a few meters of water below her feet until the lake bed below. Taking a deep breath she started to swim down, releasing small bursts of air as she went to help her get further down. Looking up from below she saw the beams of light penetrating the water, interrupted by students at the surface, some moving fast around the others, several just treading water. She knew she wasn't the fastest swimmer but when it came to being in water this is what she loved doing, there was a whole other world beneath the surface, she could only imagine what inhabited the deepest parts of the lake, separated from herself and the other students by the magical barrier. Feeling her lungs beginning to call for air, she pushed off from the lake floor towards the surface, the muffled sounds of students becoming clear once again as she emerged from the water. Looking back towards the land and the highest diving platform, she wondered if anyone else had made the jump since, she didn't think so, but was ready to watch the next one.

Nikita eyes the young red head who had just fallen into the lake. She deeply wanted to admit that the girl was less graceful than a whale. After all, she plays quidditch and she's seen people fall off their brooms way more graceful from that. She should feel bad and she knew it, but she didn't. The fall was rather funny after all.

She turned to the second red head girl who had just told her she was proud to come from Hogwarts. Nikita raised an eyebrow. "You are proud.. you say?" Her Russian accent stronger when she was angry.

She laughed. "You joke, right?" She raised her eyebrows.
Her eyebrows pressed together. "Plesse tell me you're joking" She said. She ignored the boy who swam over, Charles alluring.

"What, do you guys regularly drive your guests insane?by tricking them into drinking a potion while they are unsuspecting?" She demanded.

She turned to Charles."Exuse me but I only "annoy" those who annoy me first so shut up please and thank you." She said, speaking Russian. She considered splashing him in the face, or better yet, shoving his head under water. But she couldn't get out of that one if she did... so she didn't.

Xeno sat by the lake, waiting on his best friend Winter. His gaze was on the water for most of the time, now and then looking around for his white-haired bestie. Xeno had been doing well that morning, waking up early and being on time to catch good seats for himself and another. He would lay back on one of the towels placed on the sand, letting out a sigh of relief as he felt the warm sun against his skin. He closed his eyes, this was what paradise felt like.

It wasn't too long before a voice was heard, one he recognized from multiple places. He waited until he heard it once more to be certain, it was Charles! The boy he had met at the slumber party- also one of his cabin mates. He sprung up looking his way, Charles looking as amazing as ever, with his golden hair shining in the sunlight. Xeno shook his head as if to clear thoughts, as his eyes ultimately fixated on Charles. He waved to the boy, not even sure if he would notice the chocolate brown-haired wonder, sitting in the sand not too far from him.

Xeno had a grin on his face as if he were seeing someone he had known for a long time, the same smile he had always given winter, a look of happiness and joy. Xenos's usual dark eyes were now a light shade of gray as the sun reflected down off of them. He secretly hoped that Charles would eventually make his way over, and so he continued to look around for winter, glancing over at Charles multiple times as he had done so. He would look at the water once more, thinking about going for a swim, but he knew he would need to stay put so winter could spot him once she had arrived, then again he could just walk up to her once he saw her, its quite hard to miss her with her hair the way it was. But still, he chose to stay put.

He laid on his stomach, drawing small doodles in the sand. He had nobody to talk to and nothing to do but wait. He outstretched his arms in front of her, laying his chin on the towel as he looked at all the people in the other areas, wondering if there were more activities over towards that part of the lake. He knew of the quidditch play and dueling club but neither had interested him so he would lay there bored out of his mind, thinking of home and wondering what his friends who didn't come to camp were doing back in the muggle world.

Dale was peacefully putting on his swimsuit, it wasn’t anything all that special but wanted to make sure he looked nice. He was wearing a pair of simple dark green swimming trunks. He knew he didn’t need a shirt so he didn’t bother putting one on, instead opting for a white jacket that had its zipper strategically left open. He spent a few more minutes readying himself and making sure he looked perfect. The teenager had become much more aware of how he looked in the past year, he tried to not think about the past year and all of its disastrous events, but if he had learned anything at all, it would’ve been how to look good.

Dale was putting the final touches on his hair… before he heard the booming voice of Annie Morgan. She did not appreciate the extra time Dale was taking, he quickly finished up and said bye to his pet rat, leaving a few extra treats for him on his way out. “I’m here, I’m here, you stop yelling now. You might’ve just woken up any people sleeping in.” Dale stated scarastislly, he wondered how someone so short could pack such a loud voice. “You do know we have a telepathic bond right? Use that next time instead of breaking my ears, please?” Dale said as she grabbed his hand and dragged him to the lake.

Annie seemed more than ecstatic to have finally arrived, she shot her arms up, If his arms were any shorter she might’ve ripped them clean off the socket, but thank god she wasn’t even tall enough to fully extend his arm. “Yup, and the heat’s already getting to me, I can feel the faint coming on any second now, can we go back now?” Dale wasn’t the biggest fan of parties, he expected something to go wrong at everyone, and this one seemed especially packed. He did enjoy being outdoor, but not when it was this hot, the sun was beating down on him, and there was barely any wind to compensate for the intense rays.

Dale wasn’t surprised Annie forgot her sunscreen, he himself didn’t bring or wear any, in all the time he spent outdoors he had never once gotten sunburnt. “You don’t actually think I'm getting in the water right?” Dale hated getting wet, it was a pain to dry everything, and on top of that, he didn't know how to swim all that well Before Dale could say anything else Annie yelled out to everyone in at least a 7-mile radius about her lack of sunscreen. Dale himself found a seat near the edge of the lake not too far from Annie, and dipped his legs into the lake to cool down a bit.

Before too long Annie was approached by some guy, he seemed to know her. He acknowledged Dale and greeted him, Dale said his hand in a greeting “Hey, nice to meet you” Before the boy swam off he splashed Annie with some water saying something about quidditch. He smiled and turned to Annie “Serves you right for dragging me here.”

What a perfect day to be going to the lake. It wasn't like the woman in red to be partying it up at the lake, but she needed to be there as someone to somewhat watch over the children. They were dealing with water and who knows what happens either in the water or with the children in terms of swimming. It was better to be safe than to be sorry.

Maya was not in her usual getup. Her red cloak was hidden in her cabin room. It was way too hot to be wearing the cloak on a summer's day. Instead, she was wearing a small black bathing suit. It was a one piece that she had bought awhile ago in Tel Aviv before she left for Hogwarts. She never had a true reason to put it on until now... Years later. Her little black bathing suit had a small black skirt that she added for some modesty. She was never big on showing it all like maybe some of the students were. She shook her head on some of those outfits students were wearing. How would their parents let them leave the house with that?

Keeping away from all of the central drama, Maya made sure to park herself at the sidelines of the lake. She was in the shade thanks to the trees that were scattered around and she sat on a nearby rock that was placed under the tree. It was placed so close to the ebb of the lake that Maya was able to stick her feet into the lake, cooling her body down from the heat.
