[font=Tempus Sans ITC]"J[/font]AKE GET YER ARSE IN HERE" was the first thing Jack had to say before crashing wildly into the cabin. Sadly for others, the prefect's voice tended to carry. Nearly kicking down the door in his wake of entering, the Hufflepuff prefect readjusted the athletic sports bag he had shoved all of his clothes and essentials into. Surprisingly, the bag looked like on the edge of bursting, and some rather unnecessary things were poking through the half-zipped bag. In addition, the top of a hammer was sticking out at a very awkward angle. Honestly, Jack couldn't wait to be away from Dublin. Unfortunately, as fun as seeing all of his muggle mates back home in Ireland, his best friends still were at Hogwarts, as seen by him screaming at his mate, Jake Morris. Much like a little brother to Jack, Jake was only allowed to be bullied by him. "IF YOU DON'T GET IN HERE SOON, THERE WON'T BE ANY BUNKS LEFT! YOU'LL HAVE TO SLEEP OUTSIDE THEN!" More yelling.

[font=Tempus Sans ITC]A[/font]fter his little bombastic entrance, he finally seemed to realize that he was around other people- huh? Were they here when he walked in? Were they all younger? Oh, hey, look, Serena- They haven't conversated much past their first interaction. Turning to the others, Jack just put on his shit-eating grin, announced loudly, "Ight, ya kiddos. I'm the boss here. We gon' have a great summer, and we are gonna get into a crap ton of trouble!" With that, he flashed his prefect badge that sat pinned to the waistband of his shorts. The boy wore his badge much like all those American detectives did in the movies. For a moment he continued to stand there, basking in his own glory before actually taking in who was in the cabin. "Oh, I'm Jack Warren, for all those who don't know me reputation alone." As if to accentuate his self-proclaimed status, he just yeets his bag at the nearest top bunk. He just figured that Jake would take the bottom. Mr. Morris wasn't one to argue, so it was chill. Adjusting his black hat that sat backward on the top of his head, Jack just kept on grinning. Now if Jake would hurry up and get inside.

It hadn't even been 48 hours since she and her mother had packed her bag for the camp, yet she already found herself feeling surprised by a couple of the clothes she was pulling out of her grey duffle bag, 'don't remember packing this' she thought whilst moving an old mustard-coloured hoodie into the chest.

Scarlet started to hear bits of a conversation between the silver-haired girl near her and a boy, presumably the one she had passed earlier. "Hello. I'm Ramsey," he said to the girl Scarlet thought had introduced herself as Winter. Scarlet started to unpack more quickly now, she didn't want to miss the initial introductions between her cabin mates.

For a moment the room went quiet and she heard someone approaching from behind her, as she began to turn around, Scarlet heard, "Hello I'm Ramsey," it was the same voice, and words, as earlier. Sure enough, stood in front of her was the boy from the windowsill, a friendly smile directed towards her, maybe it was because she was now seeing him up close, but she hadn't noticed how dark his hair was before.

"Hi Ramsey, I'm Scarlet. I should've properly introduced myself earlier," she replied.

"Would you mind if I took the lower bunk?" he asked. 'Great!' Scarlet thought to herself, that solves my dilemma about which of the beds to choose. Just as she was about to answer she caught a glimpse of what looked like a mouse or rat scurrying under another one of the bunk beds.

"PIZZA" she heard someone call from the other side of the room, a new girl had entered the cabin, Scarlet assumed she was in a higher year than the others as she looked a tad older than the rest of them. She dropped to the ground and began scouring the floor for what Scarlet could only now assume was her pet, 'aww it will be nice to have some pets in the cabin' she thought 'if we ever see it again,' the girl seemed to be having trouble trying to get it out from under the bed.

Scarlet realised in all the commotion she hadn't given Ramsey and answer yet just as another girl entered the cabin, "Hey guys. I'm Paige!" she announced. Ramsey turned to her and said hello, and almost as if on queue, after he had done so, Scarlet said "Hey!" before turning back to Ramsey. "Not at all, you've helped me decide which bunk to go for too," gesturing towards the bottom bed, What was it you were reading before? I can't believe I didn't think to bring one with me," she asked as she moved her now empty duffle bag out of the way.

As she waited for his response she noticed another small group of new people enter the cabin, one of whom was one of the professors that had been assigned to the cabin, Scarlet didn't immediately recognise her, 'she probably teaches a subject I haven't studied yet' she thought. The professor and the first of the newest students to enter went off to the kitchen, whilst the second student, a prefect from the looks of the badge he wore proudly on his shorts, made an announcement to the group of them in the bedroom, "We gon' have a great summer, and we are gonna get into a crap ton of trouble!" Although she would have been too shy to admit it, Scarlet got excited at the thought that he might be right.

A second year, huh? It sure had gone by fast. It was hard to believe that Callista had survived a whole year at Hogwarts. Summer camp meant new faces and old faces, and hopefully a bit of fun? It was Hogwarts, after all. Stepping back onto the campus felt a bit like coming home. Not long ago, Callista had felt homesick in her Hufflepuff dorm, but just a year later, it was now her second home.

Kelpie Cabin, huh? I wonder if Annie or Robert are in my cabin?

However, her friends were (sadly) not in her cabin. All the faces that were currently roaming around in her cabin were new - with the exception of perhaps the prefect [Jack] and the girl fishing for something under one of the beds [Serena]. They were both Hufflepuffs, and Callista thought she might have seen them around the commons. Both were older than her.

Some of the beds were already taken, and the other students were already introducing themselves. Deciding not to interrupt anyone’s conversations, Callista merely furrowed her brows slightly at the prefect’s words. Jack Warren, wasn’t it? Trouble was exactly what she wanted to avoid… although, he was most likely just referring to a couple of harmless pranks and dares, not…

Callista pinched herself lightly on the arm. No, of course not, you paranoid bookworm. And yet, she couldn’t help herself from scanning the shadows just in case. There was nothing there, obviously. It was the middle of the day, and there were adults present. A little more reassured, Callista awkwardly headed over to one of the unclaimed bunks.

“Em… no one minds if I take this bottom bunk, right..?” Callista asked softly. Her voice was soft and quiet as usual, and she placed her trunk upright beside the aforementioned bed, deciding not to sit on the bed in case anyone wanted it (which was unlikely, but just in case). Callista preferred the bottom bunk, since it would be quieter and less of a nuisance for the others if she had to get up in the middle of the night or early in the morning.

I wonder who else is in this cabin and if there’s anyone I know.

People started pouring in into the cabin. An adult came in covered in a blood-red cloak. I guessed she might be one of the Professors. She grabbed some vegetables and started cutting them with a ....Knife? "I had no idea they used muggle tools here." I thought. The looks of it gave me the vibes of Diwali, (An Indian Festival) the festival of lights, were people share sweets and other dishes with friends and families. Our family has been celebrating the festival ever since my Grandparents got married. (My Grandfather was from India.)

The long haired girl introduced herself as Scarlet. She was cool about me taking the lower bunk, where I unpacked my stuffs. "What was it you were reading before?" she asked. "I can't believe I didn't think to bring one with me.".

"It's about 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them'." I replied. "I've got couple of extra books if you want to borrow. They are from muggle authors though."

Out of the blue, Winter charged straight into the short girl, Paige. "Blimey". It took me a while to realize what was happening. Looked like they've been friends for a very long time. I stood there grinning and watching them tumble on the floor.

From the entrance, a tall boy burst in. He looked a couple of years older than me. With a villainous smile he yelled, "Ight, ya kiddos. I'm the boss here. We gon' have a great summer, and we are gonna get into a crap ton of trouble!".

"Uh..Oh". I thought. I was known to be 'The quiet kid' in my muggle school. But things were quite different now. For the first time, I was so excited to be a part of the "trouble" we were about to get into.

He proudly flashed a shiny badge at the waistband of his shorts. "Oh, I'm Jack Warren, for all those who don't know me reputation alone."

“Em… no one minds if I take this bottom bunk, right..?”, a mellow voice came from the behind. I turned around to look at a girl in pigtails. She was pointing towards the bottom bunk, that was next to the one, where I kept my trunk.

"Seems no one has claimed it as of now." I replied. "Better take the cosy ones before they are filled."

The room was already becoming livelier and I started attuning to it. "I can't wait to see what else is in the store" I thought

Maya had begun cutting the cucumber first. It was less of a mess in comparison to the other vegetables and fruit in her mix. And if she did not have enough time, which she believed so, she could leave them with cucumber squares to eat.

Taking her sharp knife, Maya began to slice and dice. She then felt the presence of someone and slightly looked up, still continuing her cut. The girl, oddly familiar-- probably have seen her roaming the halls-- had asked what she was doing. Maya stopped and smiled at the girl. "A cabin isn't full unless there's food nearby," she said, and began cutting once more. "I'm making you a salad from my homeland. It's called--"

A disastrous interruption had occurred. "Excuse me."

Maya looked up to see that it was a boy who pranced in owning the place. Maya held still and watched him become the life of the party. She was fine with different personalities, but the minute he said he was in charge, Maya knew that this boy needed a reality check.

Knife still in hand, Maya stood up from the ottoman she was comfortably sitting on. She crossed her arms, the knife gently resting against the top part of her arm, and walked over to the Hufflepuff. After getting a better look at him, she realized he was a Prefect.

One of Caradocs...

Jack Warren wasn't in trouble, nor was Maya going to fully confront his actions. She instead gave him eye contact that was stern, knife visible, and walked past him towards the cabin beds. Anyone could tell that she was warning Jack nonverbally. She had a room that was separate from the children, but not a room to herself. She was sharing with Zoe, the Charms professor.

Leaving the vegetables there on the end table, Maya went to her room. She wiped the knife clean and placed it back into her boot. She felt they needed something as a welcome other than food, and what better than to bring in some muggle games. In her second suitcase was a bunch of toys that she brought from the muggle society. Maya picked up a select few: Scategories, Twister and Trouble.

She came back out and saw that a couple more students had arrived. "I've brought a couple games that some of you have played before, but many of you have not. Give them a try," she announced and placed the games on the nearby couch, still holding Trouble in her hands. She then went to Jack and handed him a game. "Perhaps this is all the Trouble you'll be doing," she joked, and walked back to her ottoman, cleaning up the other vegetables. It seemed that cucumbers were only going to be served at the moment.

It was hard to believe, but Everly was actually a second year now. Well, maybe not quite yet, not officially, but Everly liked thinking of the fact that she was about to become one. Her first year was over so quickly, and the next chapter in the Great Tale of Everly was about to begin. The Summer Camp marked that, and Everly couldn't wait. She hadn't attended last year, even though she had been allowed to, out of both nervousness and a wanting to spend just the last month surrounded by family. But now, she got to actually experience what it was like.

Everly had been assigned to the 'Kelpie Cabin'. Kelpies were wonderous water creatures, and while Everly wasn't an expert, she remembered they were horse-like creatures. It didn't take long for her to find the cabin, and she was instantly fascinated. With her bag slung over her shoulder and Tzahala contently purring in her arms, Everly stepped inside.

She instantly recognized some, if not most, of the people there. There were several people who were completely new faces - a guy with black hair who must've been a new first year for the following school year [Ramsey], a girl with snow-white hair [Winter], and a girl with wavy dark hair [Scarlet], and several others. There were also people she recognized, too - Serena Towers (even though Serena probably didn't know Everly), a duelist from Hufflepuff [Calli], and one of the Hufflepuff Prefects who was screaming something unrecognizable. Everly ventured deeper in, deciding firmly she should put her stuff down and choose a place she would be staying in. After all, what was the point of being early if you didn't get to pick the best? Instantly, she recognized the white bag occupying one of the lower bunks - Violet was here. Everly slung her bag onto the bunk above it, a smile on her face. Tzahala had found her way to the ground, deciding to venture this new, mysterious place. Currently, she was rubbing her head against Everly's leg, but with the bengal's attention span, she would most likely go find her way somewhere else. Tzahala always somehow found her way back to Everly in the end, however, so Everly didn't worry too much when she realized Tzahala had wandered off.

Everly found Violet talking to one of the professors. The professor was probably their chaperone, Everly determined. She didn't want to interrupt the two, as they appeared to be having a conversation, so Everly tried to be a polite as possible. "Hi there! You wouldn't mind me joining you two, would you?" The professor was cutting some vegetables, creating some sort of salad that looked delicious. Everly was never good at cooking nor baking, although she did enjoy eating them. "That looks delicious, miss," Everly added.

A disruption captured her attention for a bit. It seemed to have done the same with the professor's, and she stopped to address him, but something caused her to stop, but Everly could see the warning in her eyes. She left towards the rooms, probably to go get something. Everly turned to Violet. "Violet, hey! How was the rest of your summer break?" she inquired, trying to start a conversation. She hadn't seen Violet since... well, since the last time they had seen each other, and she was grateful for the fact that the two had mended their previous issues. They were quite close nowadays, and Everly was happy she had a new friend in her previous negative acquaintance.

When the professor returned, she was holding several boxes. Were they toys or games? Everly wondered, studying the bright colors and words on the top. Everly approached one curiously, reading the top. It was labeled 'Twister', with an illustration showing a white sheet of sorts and colored dots all over it. She knew it was a Muggle thing, a 'board game', if she recalled the term correctly. Prying the box open, she studied it's components. The same white sheet with dots on the cover, and a cardboard thing with an arrow. Curious, Everly flicked the arrow, finding that it could spin. "Huh," she mused aloud. "What is this? It looks so... spinny," she said, flicking it a couple more times for good measure.

Earl may or may not have been a little sullen the morning he found himself getting dragged to the summer camp. His dad had been ever so happy to sign him up, jumping at the first chance to be rid of him. So there he was, fumbling with the straps of the singular backpack he'd been allowed to carry with him. The interior was enlarged, allowing for a disproportionate amount of heavy items. Most of which were clothes. Right before they'd left, his dad had dug through the bag, fishing out all his makeup palettes and eyeliner, every single piece of glam he'd bought himself or been gifted over the years. And threw it all in their trash. Earl had watched wordlessly from his bed, eyes filling with silent tears, knees pulled up to his chest. He dared not protest, even as his beloved kits and pencils were whisked away.

The usual excitement was gone for Earl's tiny form, bright smile having withered away along with his prized possessions. He'd been quiet the entire trip to the camp, and quieter when they were sorted into groups and presented with their cabin. The instant they were dismissed, he took to the bedroom, climbing in the nearest unoccupied bed and setting his bag on the floor. There was no rush to unpack it. None of the clothing in there was anything special. His dad had taken him on a "boys trip" to Walmart and bought him the ugliest, boxiest, unflatteringest, cheapest clothing he could, stuffing it in the hideous khaki bag for him.

Curled up under the blanket, facing the wall with his head tucked under his arm, Earl spent his first hours at camp trying to stifle tears.

It was only when his roommates fell asleep that Earl dared to slip out from underneath the blankets. Forcing himself out of bed, he grimaced before dragging down the zipper on his bag, taking out plain black and white shirts which were three sizes to big for him ("You'll grow into them!") and a pair of cargo shorts he wanted to burn. He was uncomfortable in his own skin in a way he'd never been before, squirming as he pulled on the clothing. The mirror was his enemy, showing him someone he didn't recognize. "It's time you man up," his dad had said the day a few hours earlier, sitting him down at the kitchen table, a pair of dull scissors in his hand. There was a dusty hair salon somewhere in a corner of Bran, but there was no way Mr. Gray was going to make small talk with the stylists.

"Change the color," his dad had said. "I don't care what it is as long as it's not f***** pink. You're a goddamn boy and you're going to act like one" Earl pretended he understood, although he didn't really. He wasn't sure what he'd done to inspire his father's ire, or how boys acted like, or why it seemed to annoy his dad to no end that he liked makeup. But he'd changed his hair to a dull brown anyway. Curly locks fell to the floor, and along with them every bit of hope and happiness Earl possessed. He couldn't change his hair length yet. Just the color. Whether it was curly or not. Making it grow faster drained him out. Considering his dad had the skills of a seagull with a pair of scissors in its beak, the finished product horrified our tiny 'man'.

Mr. Gray seemed pleased however, ignoring the crestfallen look on Earl's face when he'd caught a glimpse of himself in the cloudy bathroom mirror. "What do you think? Doesn't this look so much better?" Earl had choked out a "Y-yes," squeezing his eyes shut so he wouldn't have to see it anymore, an unpleasant shiver going down his spine. "Good boy."

So what was our no-longer-pink, not-so-cheery boy doing? He was in front of the bathroom mirror, grimacing as he tailored his features, trying to make them match the hair.

He hadn't turned on the light, afraid of waking the other members of his cabin. His own hand mirror had vanished along with the makeup, smashing down at the bottom of a garbage bag, shards glinting like stars in the darkness. But he couldn't focus on that now. The more he lingered on it, the less time he had to fix the mess that stared back at him. So, curling up in front of the mirror with his knees pulled to his chest, Earl leaned close, his form fuzzing slightly. Earl changing was a sight to behold. He was a painter, and artist, careful eye running over his skin with the concentration of a sculptor.

Adding and then deleting freckles, trying to change the pigmentation of his skin. It was a long time before he accepted defeat, staring at his reflection bleakly. Muddy brown hair which poked up like porcupine spikes, uneven and choppy and looking as if it has been hacked away at with a saw. Ghost white. Wide eyes which no longer matched up with his locks. Baggy clothing and dark circles. Too skinny and too frail, but no longer in a cute 'wow look at how much bigger your hand is compared to mine' way. He looked like a weasel instead. A weasel which wasn't very good at being a weasel, even though that was its only job. He could have made the circles go away, but what was the point? There was none. The look he'd had before had been perfected for years, tiny details down to individual strands of hair being meticulously tailored.

It was all gone.

So many students were filtering in, but Winter, it seemed, did not want to be ignored. She jumped 9n Paige in a tackle huh and they fell to the ground. Paige, for one, was kuaghing her head off her stomach hurt in protest. "I- I deserved that- didn't I?" She asked between luaghsz thinking of back in the common room. She rolled from under Winter, catching her breath and hopping back up, dusting her self off.

She and Winter had attracted attention,
It seemed. A boy named Ramsay introduced himself. "Hey!" She said, waving her arm perhaps a bit to enthusiastically. Suddenly, she heard someone enter very loudly.

Now that's her kinda entrance. He yelled about getting into trouble and flashing his badge, she realized he was a prefect
She smiled. He was awesome.

Then, a professor walked in with games and Paige ran over as another girl picked up Twister before Paige could. Paige loved that game. She sat next to the girl and noticed her confusion. "That is what you spin to determine the moves. Someone can be the spinner or we can all take turns spinning. When you spin, it will land on a move. So if it lands on a red in the left hand section... we all have to place our left hand on a red circle. It's a fun game. " She said, smiling.

The first two months of summer had been relatively calm which was a much-needed reset from Zoë’s first year teaching at Hogwarts. She had loved returning to her alma mater and being able to experience the school in a new light but she was happy to have some time to herself and of course Eliseo as the two had started to get more serious in their relationship. They had taken occasional small getaways in Scotland but there was still much work the man had to do around the school.

Despite her need for peace, by mid-July Zoë was dying to see her students again. She wanted to hear all about their summers and see how they’d grown. She had been counting down the days til the summer camp and was even looking forward to reconnecting with some of her Beauxbatons students but as the first day of August arrived, Zoë realized she didn’t have any outfits suited to camping.

She never had a shortage of clothing but being a more city girl, Zoë had never had the need for such looks as she quickly ran out to a few stores putting together some casual looks for the camp experience. She had thought it would be a good idea to bring Eliseo along, as he was a professional outdoorsman. But everything the man seemed to pick up and recommend just didn’t stand up to the look she was going for. Sure, it was probably the most practical option but fashion isn’t meant to be practical and Zoë wasn’t planning on looking like a lumberjack while at the camp. But she did manage to find at least some clothing that would keep her looking good and made her seem at least a little bit ready to walk on something other than pavement.

For her first day and introduction to the cabin, she had gone with a pair of dark leggings, some adorable but functional hiking shoes, and a sweater with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. Even in summer, Zoë was more likely to get cold than overheated so she made sure she would be ready for anything. And if she did need anything else, she had cast an extension charm on her suitcase and made sure to fill it with more than enough outfits, gadgets and comfort items to last several months.

When she had arrived at the camp, she was under the impression that she would be sharing a cabin with all of the other adults of the school. It had seemed like it would be a fantastic way to bond with the staff that she hadn’t really had the chance to. But when she had received her cabin assignment and saw that she would be watching over a cabin filled with children, she was admittedly a bit nervous.

Thankfully, there would at least be Maya serving time in the cabin with her. Children could be...exhausting at times and at least having that familiar face with her to help manage, set her mind at ease. Also, Zoë had limited interactions with the professor in her few months at the school and she was excited to get to know the woman. But she reminded herself to not come on too strong. She knew she could be a bit intense at times and the last thing she wanted was her energy terrifying the students and fellow professor.

Finally arriving at the Kelpie Cabin, Zoë exhaled before slowly entering the threshold. A smile quickly spread across her lips as she stood in the doorway. There were already students mingling and she could feel their mix of excitement for the month ahead of them.

The cabin interior itself was beautiful and, most importantly, clean. It seemed they would not be spending the month in old run-down shacks and for that Zoë was grateful. Seeing rows of bunk beds, Zoë wasn’t quite sure what the sleeping arrangements were for her and Maya yet but she desperately hoped she was not supposed to fit in a bunk bed. Her fear of doing anything embarrassing while asleep would keep her awake the entire month.

“Hello everyone! I have missed seeing all of your adorable faces,” Zoë beamed as the smile remained a permanent fixture on her face. Moving deeper into the cabin and closing the door behind her, Zoë gave a relaxed sigh. She didn’t know what the month would hold but her lingering nerves seemed to have dissipated entirely and were replaced by an overwhelming happiness to be back around all of the entertaining faces that made Hogwarts such a home.

Serena was just minding her own business, trying to figure out how to calm her little buddy down after the poor guy had just spent an entire train journey with her horrible brother. Like Pizza Rat, she too was probably not in the best mood because of him. He was infuriating sometimes! Unfamiliar faces flooded the doors, all actively talking to each other and perhaps even to her. But they were mostly overshadowed by one.

Jack Warren. A boy that she had met, what, two years ago now? A boy that she had yelled at, two years ago now. It seemed that, somewhere along the lines, he had become prefect and also rather loud. She recalled apologising profusing after making a mistake when they first met but now, he seemed even louder than she was! Of course, she had met Jack a few times after - they were in the same house, after all, and even in the same Quidditch team together. But their first interaction was the one that came to mind whenever she saw him.

She could not help but laugh a little at his display, shaking her head. Oh boy, who kids grew up these days! She was an adult, of course. She was going to be sixteen next year, how odd! And she was at least a year or two older than him, which made her old enough to say 'kid' - at least, in her opinion. "Pipe down, Warren, you're gonna scare the kids!" Serena remarked loudly for all to hear, with a grin on her face and a tone of voice that showed she was just joking. Most of the cabin did seem to be the younger years though, likely first or second years, perhaps?

She had no idea but she also could not believe that she was going into her fifth year! How crazy was that?! Serena blinked as she watched the Muggle Studies professor walk past Jack with a knife in hand. Was he being threatened? Surely not, right? A professor would not just threaten a random kid with a knife, right...? Right? She had to be overthinking it. Serena had been through quite a lot in the past few years but the idea of having to protect a fellow student from a professor's knife threats was not one of them. Looking at between the pair, she mostly stood there with a look of 'did that just happen?' on her face. Luckily, Galim returned and made some comments about a game called 'Trouble'. Well... that was one way to kill the mood.

Spotting a cooler box, she made her way over to it and cracked it open. She grabbed a can of cola for herself and a bottle of water for Jack, "Here, have a water," She offered, intentionally not giving him the sugary drink. He was probably too excitable in the first place. Then again, she was not opposed to some trouble over camp. As long as it was the fun sort and not the 'shadowy monsters trying to murder you' sort. "I'm surprised you still have a badge," She teased, dropping her voice so it wasn't audible to everyone.
