Everly was having anything far from a good day. There was no one at blame, really. It was, perhaps, just the mood she was in, or maybe something had happened that had provoked her to this point. It was a bunch of events from this morning up to this moment, and Everly was sort of, completely, over it. Someone had shoved her on the stairs today on the way to Charms class, maybe accidentally, maybe purposefully for whatever reason Everly crafted in her mind, but being jabbed in the ribs in the morning, with sleep in your eyes, was one of the many dreaded things that could wake Everly at that point. She wasn't a heavy sleeper, per se, but it was just that day and time in which she hadn't gotten much sleep, and for an important reason. Then, after the class period had started, Everly had discovered that she had forgotten her textbook, for whatever reason, maybe being her drowsiness or just general forgetfulness that so often hit Everly. Thankfully, though, Professor Fresnel had extra copies of the textbook that she had allowed Everly to borrow until the class period ended, even though Everly felt ashamed to ask. She shouldn't have forgotten. But there were more things on her mind - on top of that, there was a wedding.

Not Everly's, of course. Adeline's, Everly's older sister. It was inevitable, bound to happen one day, but Everly still couldn't let go of the fact that she could remember years ago the Adeline before she became so.... adult-like. Adeline was twenty now, but it was hard to think of it that way. It was hard to imagine anything in her family changing, honestly, but it was coming. Adeline was proof of that, she knew, and soon to be Asher, who was graduating next year, and then Myles and then her. Adeline had been her closest friend, despite them being almost a decade apart in age, and the fact that they looked nothing alike. People had often questioned whether they were actually related or not. But Adeline was her sister, her friend, and it was difficult to think otherwise. Adeline was getting married now, to a guy she barely knew, and then she would be gone. Part of that was her fault - Everly had forgotten to investigate more about the name she'd been given and the guy behind it. She knew enough though. Adeline's fiancé, Christopher Carrington, namely Violet Carrington's brother. Half-brother.

So, she had a new, one who already thought worse of her, future (sister-in-law? she wasn't sure what they were now) relation to deal with, and one she wasn't looking forward to mending.

All of these thoughts swirling in her mind made her irritated, and she didn't know what to do. Already at the brim, Everly struggled to stay calm. She couldn't deal with this right now. She needed to focus, and finish this. The sooner it was over, the sooner she could leave.

The task at hand required partners. A sense of déjà vu came, and Everly recalled a few months ago when she had her first interactions with the infamous Violet Carrington right in this class. She had been her partner for that, but she couldn't really talk to Violet today. Someone else, other than Violet. Surely it couldn't be that bad, could it?
