It's so good to hear from you, it will definitely take you a while to be able to navigate your way around the castle - it took me long enough. Your mother has said it's just me, but I'm sure Ashur has been following me about the house much more since you left, he has taken to sleeping on your bed now too so I'm not sure what you're going to do when you come back over the summer.

We both think it's fantastic that you have been sorted into Slytherin - we had gotten an owl from your aunt asking which house you had gotten into even before you managed to write to us to let us know! She was thrilled - as much as she could be having gone to Beauxbatons. In fact, she's asking if you would send her a letter from time to time, I think she's just missing the teenage gossip, I mean she's not long out of school herself.

You'll have to thank the professor that sent the baking assignment over the summer too, since then, your mother's decided to make it a weekly activity, with the most recent being a triple tier chocolate cake. I know writing letters is normally your mothers thing, but she has been pulling lots of late nights at the Ministry recently - some escaped creature - and insisted I should just send it before your first term finishes!

Hi Aunty Lils!

Please tell me you remembered to pick me up something from your trip to France to visit Uncle Hugo - you promised me some of the macroons that I had the last time we visited France. How's Val? Has he left for Beauxbatons yet, I'm guessing he probably has.

Anyway what have you been up to? Met any nice French guys on your trip or are you still hung over on that Sam from mum's work. Dad said you heard I got into Slytherin, did you have houses in Beauxbatons, I can't remember. Everyone I've met has been really nice so far, you were right though - Transfiguration isn't as boring as I thought it would be. So far, I'm definitely leaning towards Defence Against the Dark Arts as being my favourite - surprisingly I'm actually really enjoying potions class too.

Didn't want to ask Mum and Dad, but how's Grandma and Grandpa? Where are they at this time of the year - they go between the estate in France and London so much I can never keep track, especially since Mum and Dad would never bring it up casually. I've not forgotten the fact that you told me you'd explain this whole family feud... still waiting - joking - but seriously can they not just get along already, I mean they can stomach Christmas's together.

It's weird, I've not even been gone a month and I feel I have so much to catch up on, can't wait to here back from you soon,
