That got a laugh out of him.
“Not a fan of spiders huh?”
Crouching he scooped up some of the clean snow, most of it slipping from his fingers as he stood but even then, he didn’t seem to care. “Then again-” the snow was tossed, thin and wispy and not quite touching Kitty or Dakota, it was enough to get the spider telling him off though, shaking her front legs at him playfully and turning her back to him. He stuck his tongue out, grinning.
"-not many people are.” He dusted the snow off on his robes.
Elsian could hardly fault anyone for it though. He hadn’t been screaming for joy when Kitty surprised him for the first time in the pet shop after all! As far as her destructive habits went..
“She’s just pretty proud of her webs and likes pretty things to put in our rooms.. Usually I just let her pick threads she likes from my trunk to use but I was studying today so-”
He stiffened, face going even paler in the winter air. He'd forgotten his things, stuck looking for Kitty so long... He buried his face into his hands, gloves still cold from the snow. He was going to be in so much trouble if he didn’t have his homework and books for tomorrow.
“I left my bag in the study room.” he groaned.
Looking up he grimaced, shaking his head, “I’m sorry, but I have to go get my things... Kitty,” he reached out for the spider, sweeping her up before she had the chance to refuse, “we have to go.” Plopping her in his scarf and tugging his hood up for good measure he gave a small smile and wave to Dakota even as he turned away in a hurry. “See you around!”
Snow crunching underfoot he’d made it to the archway, just stepping inside the stone hallway before Kitty made her displeasure known. "Kitty!” He hissed in surprise, skidding to a stop on wet shoes and hood falling back as Kitty jumped, leaping into the air. Fumbling he caught her, clutching her in his hands but she might as well been a bludger or grasshopper with how she hopped and threw herself out of his hands and into the air. He was able to grab her twice more then she was skidding atop the stone and out to the snow, fast as the wind with a trail of tiny dots leading to Dakota, ignoring him all the wild even as he twisted to try and catch her.
It didn't work. Tripping in the snow as he did, she was fast enough to latch onto Dakota's shoes and up her robes to hug her elbow.
“Kitty,” he tried, dusting off the snow and stepping up to Dakota, “Kitty it’s time to go.”
Apparently she did not agree though, valiantly avoiding or latching on and quickly crawling away from even Dakotas quick fingers and out of reach on her back when it seemed the Hufflepuff might try to help him.
He groaned. At a loss. He couldn’t just leave her, but he also needed to go! It was already getting dark fast with the last of the daylight beginning to fade with the winter night. Frowning he looked at Dakota, shrugging helplessly, “she doesn’t want to leave you behind.” He looked down, scuffing the ground with his shoe and eyed her again. Slowly he asked.“um, do you have anywhere you have to go right now?”

Laughing lightly at the clear displeasure Kitty showed when Elsi threw the snow she watched. Her lips turned upwards in a smile when Kitty turned her back on Elsi, it was just far too amusing to Dakota and by now her apple cheeks were showing, scrunching her eyes up. Sighing softly she turned her attention back to Elsi “oh definitely, she hates them,” Dakota would never be able to express the hatred her sister felt towards spiders. Perhaps it was the fact she was so fearful of them, but still.Hearing Elsi’s words, they made sense to the Hufflepuff, why wouldn’t a spider be proud of their web? When Elsi had realized he had left his stuff in the study room Dakota had given a light laugh before speaking “no need to say sorry, I understand forgetting something then having to go collect it,” or forgetting someone. this sentence wasn’t said aloud though it caused a smile to form along Dakotas lips yet again. Parting her lips and giving a light wave Dakota called “see you!” after Elsi and placed her clasped together hands against her stomach. The next thing that happened shot Dakota for a loop at first, not having expected the Gryffindors spider to be so stubborn. Worry shown in her eyes as he watched him trip, not paying too much attention to the spider that scurried up her “are you alright Elsian?” she spoke with a softness to her voice her again. When Elsi stepped back up to her she tried to help him move his spider back to him, not wanting to hold him up, but when the spider crawled onto her back she jumped a bit.Taking in a light breath she shook her head lightly, biting at her lip “seems that way-“ she hadn’t expected Kitty to want to stay with her, after all, Dakota was a new person. Tilting her head lightly she gave it a soft shake “not that I can think of..” trialing off, she seemed to blink at him, she had finished most if not all of what was needed of her.@Elsian Cox

He waved off her worries, with a quirk of the lips and a shake of the head even as he had to get the snow off of him and he narrowed a tiny glare in his pets direction. “I’m fine, even if I’ve been betrayed.” He groused.
Still, it wasn’t all bad. Not when Dakota all but declared her schedule open to be dragged about. He gave a hopeful look to her. Her words making him outright grin. Moving to grab her hand lightly he gave a small, gentle tug, more of a question to go with his words than anything and even as Kitty moved into reaching distance again he ignored her in favor of waiting for the Hufflepuff's reply.
“Would you come with me then? It’s just on the second floor.”
He was, of course, very relieved when she agreed. Impatient to leave but still let the other at least grab her things before once again latching on to her hand and tugging her into a run past the snowy courtyards and down the halls further and further away from the cold grips of winter to the belly of Hogwarts.
“C’mon, I know the shortest way there.”
Kitty, pleased, hung onto Dakota's shoulders. Content in her newest perch staying with them as the halls blazed by in a blur.
