Blossom Ball - Spring Festival

Madeleine smiled at Cass putting on a flower crown. "No, I'm okay," Maddie declared when offered one, self-consciously patting her hair and making sure her wand and hair accessory were still firmly in place. Cass went on to share that her father would not be coming, and Mads nodded at the news. There did seem to be less of an adult presence this time around. Maybe all the adults were in the other, darker area? Or maybe they were all having a party of their own inside the castle, free of the kids? She felt a slight feeling of unease at the idea of something like last year happening and not having any adults around, but last year was a fluke. Surely Hogwarts' events didn't always end up like that.Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - French | Bolded Black Text - Japanese

A moment later, Cass asked what was happening in the middle of the party, and Maddie looked too. It was... chaos. The two Beauxbatons girls watched as a literal fight broke out in the middle of the dance.
"They're insane!" Maddie said in alarm, as a girl tackled a boy into a drinks table. Punch went flying, dishes shattered and food was wasted. She recognized Vladimir when he sent a spell flying at the girl who had done the tackling - that was odd. Mads frowned at the sight, confused by the politics of the whole situation. It was then that she realized the tackler was the pretty girl from the courtyard last year. Even now, shouting deathwitch and starting a fight, she gave off an aura that made Maddie almost want to help her.
But she stayed rooted to where she was at Cassanora's side, merely bearing witness to the spectacle. Several other students she didn't recognize jumped into the fray, sending spells flying at each other. Vladimir was one person being targeted, but Maddie didn't know the names of anyone else. Although - one girl with dark hair looked vaguely familiar. Not someone she had met, but maybe someone she had seen before.
"Oh gosh," Maddie said under her breath as the fight continued. The pretty blonde girl was shouting at the boy she had tackled and straddled, the really tall guy from before was trying (and failing) to get her off the boy, and Vladimir was aiming his wand again and knocked several students into a dogpile. The whole situation was almost comical, but the fact that it was happening in front of her very eyes kept Maddie from recognizing the humor in it all. It was time to look away, look to her friend.
"Cass, do you think we should-" and in that brief moment of looking away from the fray, a spell was cast and missed its target. Instead, the blue light came hurtling towards the two girls by the food table, striking Cassanora Browne. Maddie's eyes widened at the sight of her best friend getting struck by an unknown spell. She instinctively looked for the source, noticing the vaguely familiar dark-haired girl pointing her wand.
"Cass?!" Maddie's voice was panicked as she turned back to her friend. It looked like she was completely frozen in place and about to fall over from the force of the spell that hit her, so Mads grabbed her friend's arm to steady her.
Madeleine had never found herself in a situation like this. She did not participate in fights - no duelling, no hand-to-hand, none of that. Confrontation was something done with words, not actions. For a brief moment, it went through Maddie's mind that whatever had hit Cass left her frozen and not breathing. But that would be ridiculous. She tried not to let the panic overtake her.
The light had been blue. Maddie tried to remember what that could mean. Immobulus, maybe? That froze people, right? And it didn't kill people. The French girl pulled her wand from her pinned hair as she felt a sense of determination come over her.
"Don't worry. I think you're just frozen, so I'll counter it, okay?" Maddie said, talking it through to put them both more at ease. "Finite incantatem!" she said, her pronunciation clear and loud, as she pointed her wand at her friend's frozen body.
TL;DR: Observing the fight, then casting finite incantatem to aid Cassanora

So maybe trying to tackle Erin out of the way hadn't been as thought out a plan as he would have liked it to be, but it was fine. She hadn't managed to bite Quinn's hand anyway, though that clearly hadn't spared her from people trying to grab at her most unceremoniously, despite Percival's request for everyone to stop attacking. People, in this scenario, being Vladimir, of course.
In the back of his mind, Ruka could hear Jack's voice asking him what he was doing, and he couldn't help but cast his brother an incredulous look. No matter how much Percival was trying to talk to Erin civilly, it didn't stop all the tackling and biting. Talk was clearly not getting them anywhere, and if Erin had managed to bite Quinn's hand... Well, even just a reflexive swat from the part-giant might have been enough to propel Erin all the way across the Grounds. He was about to make his brother aware of that - stupid, oblivious, naive Jack - but before he had the chance, there was someone making use of how distracted he had momentarily been.
Mathias Pride had arrived out of nowhere, kissing urges clearly not yet sated, just to pull him into a less than romantic smooch. Excuse you, Matt, you are lacking finesse, and I have been using this tactic long before Tyranni Zuckerberg'd me - Next time, try a less forward approach, ask me to dinner first!
Ruka was startled for an everlasting second before his brain kicked back into gear. It was a good thing he had handed Jack his torch because otherwise something would have caught on fire for sure. Something other than the lip-locked couple, of course.
Where most people would have probably pushed Matt away, Ruka was clearly wired wrong, because instead he wrapped both arms around the other boy's neck, tried to use the leverage to pull himself steady onto his feet again while still being attached to Matt's face like a leech. He could distinctly hear a familiar voice asking them to take this elsewhere, could see movement in the corner of his eye - wrongly aimed spells, failed tackles - but he paid it no mind. It wasn't like he tried to keep the kiss going, no, he pulled his mouth away once he thought he had a decent hold on Matt's neck. "If you wanted some action you could have just asked," he snarled at the other boy, shaking his head. "What's the game plan here, are you working up a tally?" What was the plan here? With Vladimir grabbing for Erin, and Matt competing in some sort of kissing race it seemed like there was some bigger picture they were all missing. Trying to hold on to Matt's neck with a tight grip, Ruka chanced a quick glance at the brawling group of people, the ridiculous mess they were all making of themselves. "What are you doing?" he asked Matt, more seriously this time as he watched Vladimir trying to pull Erin away. "What the hell is going on?"

He hath returned, and regardless of how he performed in the trials, he would be certain that victory was his. It would have been a lot better if they had relied on physical strength instead of weird things like homework questions and voices on bridges, but Yefim wasn't only a meathead, he was also a genius and handsome. At least that's what his parents told him, and his devoted minions. They were there too, he could smell the brimstone in the air.
He'd walk into the ball again with his head held high, a pungent stink of superiority in his gaze as he looked for what was next. He was specifically looking for the good-looking muscle girl that he promised to get with. She had punched him in the face last year with enough force to knock him over, and he even heard she ended up following behind when he went to go topple the entire Hufflepuff Quidditch team. (Don't look it up, Yefim definitely won that fight). Not only that, but there was something bewitching about her, like an innate attraction. Whenever he saw her, he couldn't stop thinking of her. Obviously, this meant he had to dance or make out with her. Or fight her? Whatever the god inside him asked, whatever sowed chaos and further crippled the weak.
As it turned out, before he made contact with his cronies, he saw a big, obvious dogpile on the dance floor with buff girl in it. Wands were out, tackles were happening, and it was clearly a big fight, despite the also random kissing going on. The bones in Yefim's hands would crackle like as ecstatic lightning storm as he flexed his fingers in anticipation. There was one dude with the audacity to have flex queen in a hold, and that was not going to fly.
”Back up!” He would scream, fist first.

Even Samantha thought that the vows were cute. The way Haley and Simon looked at each other was adorable. After Vivian pronounced the two first years husband and wife Samantha clapped. She looked at her friends, who was now wiping tears from her face. With a surprised face she asked: "Vivian, are you crying?" She giggled, "Are you okay?" Sam had though it must be tears of happiness, at least that is what she hoped. It would be weird if her friend was crying because she was sad, why would she be sad. Maybe Vivian wanted to find her soulmate? Samantha shrugged and shook her head.
The young girl turned towards the newly wed first years. "So congratulation with your wedding! I hope you have a fun time, I think." Samantha laughed nervously, she had no idea what was normal to say. She did remember that the one time that she went to a wedding her mom had brought a present, but she didn't have that right now. If Samantha knew that people were going to get married she would have brought something. "I don't have a present for you guys, I am sorry. But I didn't know this was going to happen."
"Wait," Samantha looked shocked, she had just realized something. "I didn't introduce myself, did I?" There was a big chance that Simon didn't even realize that she was his quill pal and Haley definitely didn't know Samantha. "I am Samantha, your quill pall. I knew you were Simon because of the green suit and Vivian already knew you. And I also heard you say the proposal, so now I now both of your names and of course I heard the vows. But I hadn't even told you my name."
"Dance?" She had never danced at a party, she had never been to a party at all, so it made sense that she had never danced at a party. "Well, sure. But be warned, I am not the best dancer. Or a good one at all."
Samantha heard somebody apologizing to her friend. She had no idea who it was, the student costume made sure of that. The young girl looked at the clothing choose, it was interesting to say at least. The student had though much more about their outfit then Samantha had done, well she hadn't even though about it at all, her mom did. The costume was largely grey, but it had a fiery color around the joints. The thing that got Samantha's attention the most was the fact that their were two different kind of hands. The right arm was a claw, while the left was a normal hand.
She took a moment to take in the costume, she liked it. She wouldn't wear it, but she though it was pretty cool. Samantha wouldn't have been brave enough to wear something like that. When it came to appearance she rather blended in with everybody, she only like to stand out in classes. Samantha smiled at the student, "I like your costume, who is it suppose to be?"Reducio(Free) action: talking

The Hufflepuff was startled as he heard the girl ask him about his costume, he didn't mean to interrupt whatever was going on around here, it seemed to be . . . some sort of wedding?
He took a few seconds to regain his composture and answer the question, he was still stuttering quite a lot, but he managed to not mess up and leave another long, awkward silence, the only good thing about this situation was that he was wearing that mask that covered all of his face, so he could talk without making any sort of eye contact, this would help him feel a bit more confident about his words.
''I-It's my own interpretation of Typhon, I took a bit of artistic freedom while making the design. But I think it works pretty well.''
He would take a deep breath, he sounded like he couldn't be any older than Vivian and Samantha, what was very obvious was how nervous he was. At the very least, he was happy that someone liked his costume, after all he worked a lot on it, even though it was extremely exagerated compared to most of the other student's choice of clothing. Aldor had one last card in case things went downhill and he had to dance, which he hoped with all of his heart would not happen, he did not have a clue on how to dance properly, or at least he thought it was like that, when in fact, he was pretty good at it.
He had a full purple suit, fancy, stylish and adorable. How he was not sweating in ridiculous amounts with the suit and the costume over it was beyond human comprehension, but he seemed to be handling it perfectly.

"I HEARBY PRONOUNCE YOU MAN AND WIFE," he heard Vivian say and glanced over to her. "Ah - Kiss...if you want," she continued. Before he could even think much on it, Haley threw herself into his arms and her lips pressed against his. He wouldn't deny his girlfriend a kiss, and returned it, but still kept it a little reserved because he didn't want others to ever feel uncomfortable. Haley pulled back and she had such a wide smile across her face that it made him smile too. "Well, now you both got married as you wanted..." his fellow Hufflepuff friend Vivian stated.
Married? Wait, he actually had heard her correctly before about pronouncing them man and wife?
Now as the Amortentia had left his system more, the fogginess of the moment began to dissipate and he was now left with the realization of what had just gone on around him. How did this leave him? Stunned.
"Dancing..." he paused. Vivian had suggested it. "Dancing is always good," he said and smiled, trying to remain calm as he sorted out his thoughts and get a grasp on what was happening. Elsewhere on the Grounds in the Spring Festival area, a fight seemed to be full force, but he ignored it and looked over to Haley who was still staring at him. Dead on. Wide smile.
Simon glanced down and smiled again before glancing up to her. "Care for another dance?" He led Haley back out to the dance floor, paying no mind to the unnecessary drama that others were creating. They could have their brawl and he would make this Blossom Ball a positive experience. "This night has been something, huh?" He still felt a little weird as the effects wore off and were replaced with the moments of what just happened filling his mind. It was starting to come together.

Oh god! Sam caught her, but the blonde is not going to accept tho, “Ah-ah, no... it’s... sweat, yeah” she nodded as she continued, “my eyes are sweating, nothing else” she tittered nervously as she lied and furrowed her brows hoping that would be accepted. The blonde looked at the Couple who just now moved to the dance floor when someone just brushed past her. Hearing the boy apologising for no reason, she turned to look at him and jerked out being startled, at first. Her mouth opened wide in admiration, “Wow” she whispered, “Ah- and it’s okay, no problem, don’t feel sorry” she smiled at him trying to see through his skull-like mask that had horns and teeth, but nothing she could she other than the mask, but the voice was somehow familiar, so familiar, she narrowed her eyes trying to figure out who it was.
Glancing at Sam as she said she liked the costume, Vivian nodded with agreement and as the boy started speaking again, she recognised him, it was Aldor but was not so sure tho, what if it was another person who has a voice similar to Aldor? So, she quietly listened to him as she talked about his costume, the blonde didn’t know what he was talking about but understood that he designed the dress, “Wow! then, did you make this costume?” her eyes widened in amazement, “You’re brilliant!... but I was scared at first” she shrugged as she smiled.
Finally, it was proved that the boy was Aldor as he himself announced officially. “Yes Aldor, she’s my friend Sam- I mean Samantha Salwis” she smiled and whispered to Sam making sure he wouldn’t be able to hear her, “That day do you remember? I said I promised to get agrobatulas Acromantulas books to a friend, that’s him” and continued, “My friend, Aldor” a little louder so that Aldor could hear her and beamed at both of them.

The last final words were spoken and finally the two were (unofficially) married. Haley couldn't believe her luck and threw herself into Simon's arms and kissed him as passionately as she had never done before. She hadn't noticed from all the excitement that Simon was becoming more reserved and when they broke away she grinned broadly at him, her gaze full of love.
The potion still had its full effect and Haley felt like she was on cloud nine, as if she had achieved all her goals in life and she felt she was complete with Simon, as her husband, by her side. She couldn't stop smiling, her eyes continued to be on Simon. He was all she could see and the rest of the world faded out around her.
She took his hand, "Of course." She replied enthusiastically. Never would she turn down her first dance as a fresh married couple. The feeling she received was almost impossible to describe. She felt so much at once, love, happiness, fun. A tingle flowed through her veins and she enjoyed the dance with her groom.
"Has been something?" she laughed at Simon's comment. He had to be joking, this evening wasn't just anything. "I would call it perfect." Haley started speaking now, remembering just a few minutes earlier, "Could you have imagined a better evening?" she asked now laughing, still thinking Simon was joking. "The two of us together at the ball, beautifully dressed, a stunning location, the place where we met and fell in love." Dreamily, she looked around the area while gushing. "And to our greatest happiness, we were able to officially declare our love for each other. We were lucky enough to get married today. To tie the knot."
Haley still couldn't believe it, at those words the event replayed in her mind again and tears gathered in the corners of her eyes. Tears of joy and love.

Still shaken up from the Hades trial, Serena quickly made her way out of the Underworld and back towards the Spring Festival as she tried to get far away from the darkness. Her hand shook a bit as she panted audibly, moving quickly through the crowds and going straight towards the drinks table. She needed another drink. Nothing terrible had happened, of course. She was still very much alive. But facing her greatest fear was not something she considered 'fun' or 'easy'. It was not the first time she had faced the darkness since that fateful night, she had survived more than once. But it did not make it any more comfortable.
Though, deep down, perhaps she was a little proud of herself. She had tried, despite the overwhelming sensation in her body that wanted nothing more than to run away, she had tried. And that ought to have counted for something. Her wand was tucked back into her pocket now. She adjusted her clothing, making sure that the dupatta, which was the scarf like item, was neatly placed on her shoulder. With her sleeve, she dapped her face again to ensure it was dry and trying to hide any evidence of the fact that she had cried not too much earlier.
Tugging on the ends of her sleeves as she arrived back where she had left her date, she looked around. He had followed her to the trials, right? Serena tried to see if she could spot him, wondering if he was back by now or if he was still participating in them. Alas, she could not immediately see him.
What she did notice, however, was that it looked like... something was kicking off in the festival. Admittedly, she had no idea what was happening but there appeared to be something happened. Serena stood to the side, simply trying to figure out what in Merlin's name was happening. Wait- were people kissing or fighting? She had no idea anymore. But hey, people do say that there was a fine line between love and hate. It seemed like that was very much true in this event.

Meenauh did not like to deceive... Presumably- that was what Xailah was beginning to understand. And that meant one of two things: 1.) She had nothing to hide, or, 2.) She was comfortable inside of her own skin. She had no desire to be someone or something else, unlike many her age. She was simply happy being Meenauh. It was an ideal state of mind; a mentality to strive for. Xailah nodded slightly, latching onto a word Meenauh had chosen- Masquerade. A peculiar choice of word to describe this sort of gathering, but Meenauh was right. This was a Masquerade. N0 more. No less. A gathering meant to hide identities. A maskless Masquerade. Xailah thought herself different than the others, with her less than Greek-friendly ensemble. She was neither Greek god nor beast- that made her different, right? Yes. And no. Mostly no. She came to the ball with the intention of being something other than herself. She was just as insecure as the rest of them. Not that she could understand it.
"To celebrate spring..." She muttered, repeating Meenauhs claim. The words of her friend were simple. Refreshing. The Greek theme was so prominent, she nearly failed to consider celebrating spring itself, as a perfectly acceptable thing to do. "Well in that case, ssspring is a good look for you." Her features lightened a little, eyes twinkled with soft sisterly admiration; but, only for a second. The sounds of a brawl could be heard; causing her lids to fall, extinguishing the glimmer. She sought the source of the scuffle, peered past the side... scuffle and a- small wedding? What on earth? Xailah watched for a moment, bewildered, and a tiny bit terrified. Public displays of affection- especially romantic displays, made her sweat profusely for whatever reason. Fourteen years and she still hadn't caught on to the fact that she had an immense fear of this horrid little thing called commitment.
Stiffly, and quite swiftly, she turned in a different direction, hopefully one that had no weddings. Much to her relief there were no children ruining their lives a metaphorical anchor; only ones ruining the lives of others via fists and spells. It seemed the blonde from before- Erin Ryan- had moved on from lights; and chose an object ten times her size, to redirect her frustration upon. Quinn Healy. What that girl had against Quinn, Xailah did not know. "What do you think of Miss Ryan?" She blurted. The cub half expected a response from Meenauh consisting of the words: evil, bad, obnoxious, and crazy. Erin didn't have the best reputation. Negative things were almost a given, when the blonde snake was in question. Xailah rolled her shoulders back. A brow snaked into a questioning curve, as she watched others flock to the defense of Quinn and those in his company. Vladimir was among them. Meenauh must have sensed that Xailah had some interest in the fight, and put up a hand to halt her from making any hasty movements. So- Meenauh actually wanted to enjoy the night? Was this the part where Xailah was supposed to laugh?
"If they don't stop soon..." The rest was left unsaid. I will be more than happy to jump in. Not out of prefect obligation. A fight was something "dangerous". She was subconsciously looking for danger- a quick kick of adrenaline. If Meenauh had not been there as a guest and witness, then the metamorph would have wiggled right into the dispute with little hesitation. Well, maybe- if it lasted longer. The conflict seemed to be dissolving almost as quickly as it had started. Quinn Healy, the source of Erins ire (seemingly, had chosen to be the better man and walk away- attempt to. Would he escape Erins wrath? Would she let him go?
Xailahs curiosity was piqued, but found her eyes wavering once the exceedingly tall ginger made an effort to leave Ryan. She looked to Meenauh, who was also looking around, but not at the dispute. The changeling followed Meenauhs gaze, only to have her eyes land on a peculiar pair of young men- people of interest. Xailahs stare would not linger on either of them long. Out of the corner of her eye, she spied movement on Meenauhs face- a smile spreading. Meenauh was... smiling at them? Was the third year seeing something that Xailah wasn't? Were they doing something funny? The metamorph shot a look back their way. Nope... nothing funny. "Hallo Sssmiley. Mind letting me in on what you find so..." Happy? Funny? What was a good word? "Grin worthy?" That would have to do.
