Oblivion
Set in: June 11th
Aldor was sitting on his own like he often did, he looked a little tired, haunted by the same odd feeling of being absolutely bored by everything surrounding him, his free time was no longer amusing, he finished every book he wanted to read, and he didn't really feel like writing something at the current point in time. Today he was wearing casual clothes, nothing special, a black beanie, a cute pastel tie-dye shirt, black pants with ripped knees, and his old pair of shoes, it was strange, considering the air was starting to get a little cold at this time, but he seemed to be perfectly comfortable with his current outfit.
He was supposed to meet up with Henry at some point today, but there wasn't really a time set for it, he has been sitting there in silence for around 15 minutes.
He wasn't that impatient, but apparently Rose Moon was going to join them today, this made Aldor feel really happy, it was strange to talk to both of his closest friends, even more now that he found out why Henry acted so weird when talking about his family. Now, Aldor had a few things to tell him too, along the past few months, Aldor had been receiving even more letters from the group who called themselves 'The Order of The Opaleye'. He wasn't sure he was ready to talk about this just yet, but he would need to do so at some point, he couldn't hide this sort of thing from Henry and Rose, they were his only family at Hogwarts after all.
So he just kept waiting.

Both Aldor and Henry were very close to Rose's heart. Yes, they were boys. Before Hogwarts, all her friends had mostly been girls, or, to be honest, just her imaginary friends. Rose, looking back, being friends with boys was a little out of the question for a strange reason that she couldn't put her finger on. Which she now thought was ridiculous. Even though she was a straight girl, she had no kind of romantic attraction to Aldor and Henry. They were just like her friends in the way that her female friends had been. It was a strange thing to think about- that she had once been so against boys as her friends and now she didn't even have to think about it.
She was friends with them because of their big brains and even bigger hearts. She was friends with them because she knew that they were loyal people. She was friends with them because they had stuck by her and they kind of needed each other.
Yes, they were boys. But that didn't really seem to matter anymore to Rose. They were her friends, and one soon to be her brother- that's what mattered about them.
The night before Halloween, when Rose had invited Aldor to trick or treat with her, she had run into Henry. Apparently they had met before, but Aldor was a little tentative then. Rose was glad Aldor felt a little better around Henry now, since she couldn't really bear two people that she loved so much to not really like each other.
Anyway. They were meeting up today, and Rose was wearing a present from each of them. She wore Aldor's gift of a dragon necklace around her neck, and Henry's gift of a bead bracelet on her wrist, fiddling with it absentmindedly. The year was coming to a close and Rose was partly looking forward to a break from classes, partly dreading the summer altogether. It was a complicated feeling she couldn't quite explain.
She came into the courtyard and spied Aldor, smiling and stepping forward, towards him. "Hey," she said, coming towards him. "It's good to see you again." She looked around, in anticipation for Henry's arrival. "I wonder when Henry is gonna get here."

A few days have passed since the teenage was caught sneaking into the restricted section with his best friend and given detention. Which wasn't that bad especially since he received a letter that morning from his brother answering a few questions that he has about the cassette tape and address written on it.
Henry already told Logan but figured he should inform Aldor as well since they both were searching for information on their families and they might even be connected.
Henry left the castle interior quite late in the day, with a black jacket that held his wand in one of the interior pockets and his orange feline; Loki on his shoulder. His blue eyes scanning the courtyard for Aldor Humbleglow, with the letter from his elder brother clutched in his left hand while his right could he seen had three friendship bracelets around that wrist.
The one shared with Logan, the one shared with Rose, and the one shared with Alexa. Henry looked around the courtyard as he felt his orange feline depart from his shoulder perhaps because he spotted the hufflepuff boy.
Loki briskly walked toward a corner were Aldor and Rose were, the feline would rubbed against Aldor legs then Rose's before giving a short meow to both and sitting down in front of them almost like he was asking for attention. However the feline didn't purr, he never did actually.
Henry would follow behind smiling a bit as he spoke"Al!" Henry was glad to see his friend and tell him about the letter as he approached the two but hadn't noticed Rose yet as he continued" have you found anything? Arthur sent me a letter a few days ago and I think it could help us-" that was when his words fell short and he saw the familiar set of red hair and green eyes.
His close friend and soon to be step sister; Rose Moon
Henry was bit surprised to see the girl there and dropped the letter to his side as he offered a small smile as he asked her, " Rose, what are you doing here?"

The Hufflepuff stood up as soon as he heard Rose's voice, before even thinking he gave her a gentle hug, for once, he decided to go ahead and hug her before she did.
''It's nice to see you too Rose, I missed you a lot.''
Aldor looked a little bit taller than the last time they talked, but barely reaching Rose's height, and his hair was longer too, a little less curly, but he was the same old Aldor, kind, sweet and awkward at times. He wasn't going to change, or at least he hoped so.
''Henry should be here any mome-''
Before Aldor could finish what he was saying, he noticed Henry's feline, Loki, who was at this point begging for their attention, the boy would slowly let go of Rose, looking around as he reached for Loki, expecting for Henry to pop out at any point, he was right. Aldor waved towards Henry, smilling softly as he waited for him to reach them.
The boy's heart started to pump faster, as he heard Henry telling him about an important letter he got, Aldor had almost forgotten about a letter he got too, but he wasn't going to tell him in front of Rose, was he? He would, if Henry thought it was time, but he could't wait anymore, he wasn't going to hide something this important, not anymore.
''Hey, what do you mean? You told me that Rose was going to be here with us today. Or did I- tell Rose?''
He chuckled nervously, he wasn't trying to be funny, he honestly just forgot, which was not something that Aldor was known for doing, it was strange, he didn't usually forget things easily like that, specially something as important as meeting up with his friends. He was probably worried, but it wasn't quite clear about what.

Rose smiled as Aldor hugged her before she could get to hug him first. "You look well," she said fondly. She was excited to see two of her very closest friends, and all three of them together. Rose spotted Henry come up to them.
Henry came in, not really seeing Rose at first. He mentioned something about finding something and Arthur and... Rose felt a lot out of the loop. What were they talking about? The first thing Henry said to her was asking what she was doing here. Aldor seemed to think it might be his fault, and bashfully said he might have forgotten.
Henry didn't give her a greeting. He just... looked surprised and asked her what she was doing here. Rose's heart fell a little at his less-than warm greeting. Usually he would smile at her coming. Or he would be happy that she was there. Was everything okay? Was she disturbing something that she shouldn't?
"Well- I thought we were all going to be together or something?" she asked. "It's probably just a misunderstanding. My bad."
What was happening here? What would Aldor have found? Why was a letter from Henry's brother so important, and why was Henry sounding so urgent? What would it "help" them with?
But more than just that, she was being unintentionally left out, and it felt like Henry didn't even want her here. He was surprised to see her, and wasn't even happy. Rose had been under the impression the three of them were just all going to hang out. Was she wrong? Was she not wanted? Did they have a code? Were they keeping things from her?
Or was she just being paranoid about everything, like she usually was? Rose felt like blurting all
"I can go if I need to," she said, gently. Her face wouldn't show anything to her emotions or doubts, and was, instead, friendly and happy. Aldor and Henry knew her better than that, though. She hoped that they wouldn't notice. Or maybe that they would. She didn't really know. What was up with all of this?
There was something she didn't know. What was it that she didn't know?

Aldor gave his explanation which was a bashful one much like how he was in the beginning of the year. So Aldor invited her then since Henry didn't and he thought that he only told Aldor to meet him there to discuss any information they found out about their families that were closer than the too boys could imagine.
Rose then went, Henry just looked at her. No smile present. All emotions hidden behind a barrier. Her words sounded odd. Odd for someone who wasn't suppose to be there.
all going to be here together or something? Like studying or a hangout or chitchat? I shouldn't be angry but why in every moment if importance or crisis Rose is here...
Honestly we don't always have to be together and Aldor and I can hang out without you, you don't always have to be around little miss popular
Alright that was mean, I don't mean that right? No just emotional with the Knights and the wedding. That's all.
Rose went again. This time suggesting to leave, Loki Loki aginest both Rose and Aldor legs, not purring but giving a short meow. Asking the two to pet him.
Henry wouldn't let the red head leave and speak up finally, " don't go Rose, we can study if you like?" carefully tucking the letter into his jacket pocket as he wished Aldor knew another language so they could discuss the information on their families in private.
Henry took a breath and asked" how are both of you?" Taking a moment so they both could answer before asking Aldor, " Find anything else Al?" The young teen then ran his hand along the pocket where he letter say before speaking" the trip to the restricted section was a waste, Logan and I were just happy to get out with minimal punishment but Arthur sent a letter on the address and coded messages that I think could help us." Henry eyed Rose realizing she was still there before he would take a breath and speak" we should tell her Al, even if we do then only four people will know. You, me, Logan, and her. Just Rose you have to promise us not to repeat any of this to anyone. "

Aldor's eyes seemed to let go off the light it used to have before, he bit his lip as he heard Henry asking about the information he gathered, were they really going to tell Rose? This was sooner than he expected. He trusted Rose, he didn't know if Henry felt the same way, he knew Rose before Aldor did, but he wasn't sure of things were going fine anymore.
Aldor would slowly let go of Rose, gently taking Loki into his arms and petting the feline, he nodded at Henry's question, somehow, deep inside of his bones, he was glad that he was finally going to tell Rose, he hated hiding things from her, it wasn't right, she was his family.
He nodded, as he stopped petting Loki to get a letter out of his pocket.
''I am sorry for hiding this from you Rose- I didn't know if Henry would be alright with me telling you before but, at least now you're with us-''
He gave Rose a smile, but he looked rather worried. After that, he turned to Henry again, his smile faded almost instantly.
''I couldn't find anything about the Knights, the library was not helpful at all for once, I couldn't find anything but- '' He lowered his voice, as he gestured Henry to come closer. ''They know-''
He handed Henry the letter and went back to petting the feline in his arms, he was still worried, he was still unsure of how things could work out, but he trusted that Henry was going to make things easy for everyone to handle, sadly, Aldor wasn't aware of the stress currently going around his friend's brain.
If Henry was unable to explain the situation, he would have to gather some courage and explain everything that had happened the last few months.

If Rose had heard the words in Henry's mind, she would have been crushed. Because even though she told herself that she didn't care what others thought about her, she did. She did care what others thought about her, and she especially cared what Henry and the rest of her friends thought about her. If she had heard Henry's thoughts, she would have been weighed down for days. Weeks, even. It was probably good Henry just said it in his head and didn't say it out loud. Ignorance, in this situation, would be something Rose wanted to keep.
But she didn't. More than anything, she wanted to know what was going on, or just leave. If she could just leave then everything would be okay. She wouldn't be a weight, and she wouldn't make this awkward and ruin everything.
Even though Henry insisted that she didn't need to go, Rose felt like she wasn't wanted. Henry came up with some excuse for her to be there- studying- and then asked them how they had been. She responded with a simple, "Okay." She thought that the past conversation had been just that- past. But then Henry launched into conversation with Aldor again, saying more stuff that Rose didn't understand. It was like he didn't even know she was there. Either he was ignoring her or he just forgot about her, and Rose didn't know which one was worse.
She should just go. She should just leave-
But even though one side of her mind was stressing about Henry, the other side was piecing things together with context clues. A letter from Arthur. The library. The restricted section. Coded messages They were gathering information about something. They were being detectives about something. But it wasn't like it was anything Rose needed to know. Was she just sticking her nose into other people's business?
Henry suggested to Aldor to just tell Rose. About what they were investigating, and asked her to promise that she wouldn't tell anybody. "Okay. I promise," she said. "You know, because I always go around the school telling secrets to everyone." After all, she had been entrusted with Henry's biggest secret. She smirked a little at her own joke. Rose was the kind of person who kept secrets. Her own secrets, everyone's secrets. She thought about telling them that they didn't need to tell her if they didn't want to, but Aldor apologized for not telling her earlier. "It's fine," she said, with a reassuring smile. "You guys can have things between each other that I don't need to know. No apology needed."
Then Aldor said something about the Knights. Henry's mother's side of the family. The Knights. Maybe that's what they were investigating. If so, it made sense that Henry wouldn't tell her. She wasn't a Knight, after all, and it wasn't really any of her business.
Rose just wanted to go up to Gryffindor Tower and hug Chaska until all her anxiety went away. She felt like she was being obnoxious, even just being there. Unwanted. But if they wanted to tell her something... let them tell her something.
Rose waited, in anticipation.

Henry wouldn't have normally been stressed or worried about reveling information to a close friend or future family member however when it came to topics on his birth mum's family. The Knights. Then Henry tended to become more closed off, more isolated. Quieter. Alone.
The young teen didn't perfer or like to talk about himself. He wasn't comfortable when others offered help and helped him. Henry preferred to listen to his friends and help them, even help strangers than allow someone to help him. To the teen, assistantion or asking got help was a oddity. It was strange. A new feeling.
Henry never meant to hurt Rose. He would have never meant for her to think of herself or belittle herself. His mind and anxiety fiddled with thoughts and spiraled around causing those thoughts to form in his head and shout at him continously. That familiar little voice ringing in his ear about Rose and his own insecurities.
Henry never meant to have Aldor keep secrets from Rose. He never meant to worry anyone. He never meant to hurt anyone. He never meant to accidently belittle anyone. He never meant to have anyone feel left out. He never meant any of this.
Henry originally wanted to do this alone as usual. He originally wanted to research the Knights alone. To investigate the Knights and thie whereabouts and find his missing twin sister.
His original plan. The Plan. A Plan. Something that was, now forgotten in the midst for someone helping him with the research on the Knights. Still his anxiety was circling over his mind about another knowing about the Knights.
"Promise that you won't tell anyone, we mean it Rose," Henry spoke toward Rose whose reply included a joke about revealing secrets to others. Normally Henry would have just let the remark passed by without a second thought but this time. This time was different. This time was more important it involved information about his mum's family. The Knights. Only two, Logan and Aldor know about this search and the Knights soon to be three. Soon to include Rose Moon.
Aldor apologizing for keeping this information from Rose and her saying that it didn't matter if they had things between each other. Of course it wouldn't matter, the literal voice in the teen's mind sounded circling the edges of his mind.
They were friends and friends had things between them that mutual friends didn't always have to know. Rose might have been popular with Hogwarts or always friendly toward nearly everyone but that didn't mean that she had to know everyone.
The voice sounded in his head. Circling. Spiraling. Increasing his anxiety. Emotions remained hidden behind the barrier. Nothing but a smile can be seen.
"This looks like a riddle, Al. Maybe their testing you or setting clues for you to find them instead of helping me find the Knights?" Henry spoke as he read over the letter carefully before handing it back to Aldor then turned to Rose. All emotion hidden behind the barrier. Not even the usual smile present on his face.
"Remember you can't tell anyone or repeat to anyone what we're about to tell you. Not any friends, not professors, not Scarlett, not your siblings, not your mum, no one," Henry explained then nodded toward Aldor before looking back at Rose and starting" the night Anna disappeared, she sent a letter to me saying that she was with the Knights. She only told me that, I then started a investigation on the Knights. Logan has helped me and later Aldor especially now that a strange group contacted him possibly his own family anyway I have been researching the Knights. I found a address, broke curfew with Logan to enter the restricted section and that's it. Any questions?"

Aldor did not seem very happy with the way Henry was acting, he understood the way he felt, but Rose wasn't a child that didn't understand what was being told to her, she understood Henry's point already, she wasn't going to tell anyone. He knew that his friend only wanted to make sure that nobody else would know, but at this point, it felt more like Henry was stressed about the fact that Rose knew this now. Without thinking, in a quiet voice a phrase escaped Aldor's lips.
''She understands- I don't think you need to say it like that, I trust her-''
He looked away for a few seconds, but once he realized what he said, he was hoping that neither of them heard what he said. He tried to give his best smile to both of them, he wanted to make the atmosphere feel a bit less stressful, the only thing that was helping him feel a bit better about this whole situation was Loki's warmth in his arms, but if this ketp going downhill, Aldor was sure that not even the presence of the feline would make him feel under control.
''Maybe we should slow down-''
He would yawn quietly as he looked back at Rose, if she was going to learn about what was happening, Aldor felt like maybe it was a smart decision to take a few minutes and explain the situation instead of rushing through all the details, of course, Henry wasn't thinking about slowing down, he wanted to find his family, but Aldor had one simple concern that he didn't want to say out loud.
There was no possible way they could find the Knights.
The more Aldor thought about it, reality struck him, there were merely kids, what were they supposed to do? He had the hope that things worked out, but they wouldn't be able to do anything, even if they went to the adress Henry found, was it really worth it? Was there a way that this sittuation could be any better? Aldor couldn't wrap his head around it, he thought it was impossible, even with all the positivity of the world, four kids wouldn't be able to solve anything like that, they weren't experienced, they were nothing but fragile things.
But of course, he wasn't going to tell this to Henry.
