Herbology definitely wasn't Violet's best subject. The mud, the worms, the plants in general were quite disgusting in her opinion, and she didn't like how it felt to be dealing with what could be called dangerous plants, and they only used books ocasionally. She wasn't happy when it was announced that the students had to work as a team, because Violet knew that she would probably fail~ or do a acceptable work. The thought of another student watching her fail wasn't good. So she was determined to do the best that she could in this Herbology lesson.

She looked at her partner, aka the person beside her and gave her a cold smile. When the Hufflepuff started writing the plan in a sheet of paper, Violet watched seriously and watched as a few things piqued her interest. She was good at the besics, however if Lea did all the rest, she wouldn't get a opportunity to shine. She left out a sigh as she prepared for a retort~ "You know, I don't think that its a good idea to only leave me with the basics. I know quite a few things about the environment of the Wiggentree, and I will most clearly do a better job with that and the basics."

For some reason, Lea hadn't expected any backlash. It was a solid plan, one that the hufflepuff knew was equal while allowing her to focus on the stuff she was good at- like research and not talking. The sigh shocked her, quickly glancing towards Violet, eyes uncertain as she waited for a response. Whatever she was going to say, it already didn't seem good.

A better job? Not only did it seem to undermine Lea's own work, but if looking for equality in group projects, would require the hufflepuff to speak more- something she was horrible at. Had the girl been back home, talking would have been easy, but something about this school still made her prefer to hide in the corner than take the spotlight. No, the first year would keep her talking piece to a minimum at all costs. Let this girl spin words about Wiggentrees- Lea didn't want to show off her skills as a stuttering mess.

"No, I think I can handle most of the research. You have already clearly shown your way with words, so I think you'd be better off with the presentation." With different phrasing, the words might have been said politely, but frustration brought a cold tone to her answer, losing the normal shakiness her voice had. "Everything is already split up equally, so why do you have a problem with it?" Brown eyes seemed unimpressed as they glanced over at the slytherin. In Lea's mind, there was no need to change anything- it wasn't as though either would have a place to slack off. This was fair, so why did it need changing?

Violet's ego was certainly bigger than her brain, and the thought that Lea was going to take over the plan and do most of the work herself was astounding, in Violet's opinion. Raising an eyebrow and forcefully glaring at the Hufflepuff, Violet felt like ripping that paper in which the plan was written into pieces. ''Are you kidding me? If we want to do this assignment as it is supposed to be done, we clearly have to switch roles!''

To make things worse, Violet decided that opposing herself more to Lea would make her look more powerful and demanding. Ripping a large piece of paper from her notebook, Violet aggressively started to write down the whole plan Lea had done, except that Lea was doing the basics and everything Violet had been assigned by the Hufflepuff, and Violet was doing what Lea was supposed to do.

''See this?!'' Violet whispered to the Hufflepuff's face, waving the paper all around her head. ''This is the plan for our success!'' sheesh. Always so dramatic. Violet decided to do another agressive move by slamming the paper on the table. ''You know what?'' Violet ripped her own plan into pieces. ''Let's do whatever you had in mind and see what the hell happens. Happy?''

Stubbornness outweighed shyness as emotion ignored the more logical side of her brain. And while a part of her said to look away, Lea just glared back with equal resentment. Already this group project was going horribly, and they hadn't even started. Her plan was fine, it was just Violet that was being ridiculous!

"What?! You're the one that started talking first. Obviously you know what you're doing in that department." A hint of a smile appeared for a moment, pride in her words, but contempt filled its place just as quickly, looking down at Violet and whatever she was scrawling on that paper. Likely another plan, but Lea was already too invested in her own plan to give it up now. No, she wouldn't succumb to the Slytherin's anger, they would just have to continue arguing until her partner gave up.

Yes, she saw the paper. And yes, it meant nothing to her- no matter how much Violet hissed about it being the plan to their success. Boredom laced into the mix of emotions in her voice, "what?" The hufflepuff tried not to act surprised as the lesser plans became a pile of scraps by Violet's own doing. Strange, but this was a victory in Lea's mind.

"Yeah, let's see. I'm sure it'll work perfectly, so long as you don't mess up on Wiggentree basics." The corners of her mouth slipped into a smile before she grabbed her stuff- with emphasis on tucking the plan into her backpack- and left.

Off to the library it was.
