Once again Opeila had seeked the familiar silence and peacefulness of the library. When the exams of the years were done and over, the Slytherin had thought she would not go here again before the next schoolyear, but here she was, spending some more time in the dusty shadows of the countless bookshelves instead of enjoying the heat. Last year Jack Burnett had made a hot tub out of a giant lunchbox, Opeila remembered, maybe doing the same with cool water was no bad idea for when they learned the water... creating charm? Whatever that spell was called.

Her cat Loras was no fan of the heat either. Although his fur was not particularly long, he simply didn't seem to find any point in getting up and wasting energy on... anything but taking up space on his mistress' bed. That was all fine for Opeila. If he stayed in her dorm, she wouldn't have to keep an eye on him as much. She had made sure to fill his waterbowl to the top before she left, so he would be fine for some hours.

The second year could barely believe that she lived to see her third year. What had happened this year? She had been beaten up in a bathroom, got kidnapped and again sort of beaten up in the train, got lured and trapped in some dark cave below the school for a night... It was madness! It was, right? How did she get through that? There were so many unanswered questions still, firstly the unsolved case of the black curse that was still filling her veins, the identity of their kidnappers on the train, Vladimir Athanatos' part in everything and yet...

...Yet she was hear to get an answer to the probably most simple one of them all- What on earth was a lethifold? Jack Burnett had tried to trick Flash and her into believing that the cloak Flash got for his birthday was in fact no cloak but a deathly creature that would eat them at night. That had been in their first year and Opeila simply never had the time or the nerve to spend another thought on it. Maybe it was something they would learn in class someday... but it couldn't be wrong to get educated on the matter before, right?

With two books about magical creatures Opeila found herself a seat in an armchair. "Alright, let's see...", she murmured to herself.

Arden had been all but a ghost his first year of school. He stayed behind after classes to talk to teachers and ask questions and build upon the lessons for aspects he didnt understand or to get a better understanding on how the lessons applied to the lives of wizards. Beyond that, he spent a lot of time reading, studying, taking notes, and practicing things. Talking to people, making friends, being social fell by the wayside. he was so far behind when it came to the magical community so he had to play a vicious game of catchup.

Today he was making his way to the library after the last class of the day. He stopped by the common room just long enough to drop off his robes and hurry off. He was wearing the dress shoes, black pants and button up shirt with his red gryffindor tie. the tie itself was loose and his sleeves were rolled up. Over his shoulder was an aged leather messenger bag.

When he made his way into the library he made his way to the shelves quickly and started looking through the books quickly. Eventually he settled on one titled "Magical Me" by a Gilderoy Lockheart. It was apparently about the adventures and trials of an extremely talented magical adventure. it certainly caught his attention.

When he went to find a place to sit all the tables were taken and he frowned slightly, running a hand through his fiery orange hair. He took a deep breath and let it out and picked a random table to sit at, across from a ginger haired girl he hadn't seen before. He slipped his messenger bag off and hung it on the chair as he sat, placing his book on the table. "Hey, hope you dont mind if I sit here. I'm Arden". As he spoke, his Irish accent was impossible to miss

"Holy shit, Jack-Uh?"
Opeila had been bent over her book only for a few minutes but if anything it only confused her more. Was this what Jack Burnett considered funny? This was no joke, that had simply been silly.
And then suddenly a ginger haired boy appeared in front of her and took the seat. "Oh, no, I don't mind at all.", she answered, and pulled her books a bit closer to her across the table to make space for the boy's things.

The Slytherin continued to look into her books. Dementor-like creatures- what were dementors again? It took her but two minutes to find it out, the chapter was right behind this one. Soul suckers, basically. The Lethifold was a very rare species and was found only in tropical climates... Opeila frowned more and more, the further she read. This was just silly, who on earth would send such a thing to a first year? She would never understand what the reason for that action had been. It had certainly lead to nothing but a worsening in the relationship she had with her housemate, however one might title it.

Eventually she put the book down, she had lost her motivation. Instead the title on the cover of the book that the boy was reading caught her attention. "Is that a Lockhart book?", she asked straight out. "I've had a look at some of his books, he's published like twenty..." Only briefly. Looking at them all she always had the feeling that she was looking at a man boasting. And honestly sometimes she found it hard to believe that this man just happened to be everywhere where a problem was, always there to miraculously save the day. How very convenient.
