History
Miles Parker fit in with the NYC environment from day one being a lover of art, music, and culture. Moving to San Francisco when he was 12 was a shift he had to adapt to. Miles was seemingly as normal as it gets. The boy got normal grades for a normal child. Bs and As with a C in math.
Nothing’s out of the ordinary in his family of muggles. His mother is an orthopedic surgeon, and his father is an actor trying to make it in the big apple. He usually got ensemble roles, since he was a really good dancer. Everyone in the family believed in him.
They were a pretty normal family up until a letter kept appearing on their front door. The first two times around, Miles thought it was a prank that his friend down the hall of their apartment building was playing, but when he sent him a letter back saying “ha, ha,” his friend sent him a text saying, “why are you sending letters to me?” Besides that, Miles did his best to ignore and tear up the trillions of mystery letters he kept getting.
One day, though, the letters had a person attached to them! The man holding the letter said he was a professor at Ilvermorny. Miles’ mother invited the man in. She thought he was crazy, and wanted to make sure this homeless man in strangely nice medieval robes had a place to sleep for the night, being the kind person she was. The man seemed level-headed, though, and went on about some magic school. Miles wondered why his mom hadn’t kicked the crazy out yet. “Creativity takes courage” - Henri Matisse.First Instance of MagicOut of nowhere, the man whipped out a wand and casted a small spell that made a glowing bunny prance around the apartment. Miles followed the little creature with his eyes, unable to believe was he was seeing but falling madly in love with it. “Dude, what!?” That was all he could say. The magic man looked down at Miles and asked, “Do you remember a time you did something unexplainable?” Miles blinked. Was he talking about what he thought he was talking about? Miles had always just written that day off as a realistic dream...
When Miles was around five or six years old, he and a few other kids were playing in the playground during recess. Miles and another boy were fighting over the basketball, and like kids do, they were fighting a little violently. They pulled the ball from each other’s arms again and again. At one point, Miles remembered, they were rolling around on the ground and crawling towards the fallen basketball. Miles was trying his hardest to get the ball, but he wasn’t strong enough. He started roaring, like a lion.
After his third roar, the loudest one yet, the ball exploded and flew into little bits around the play area. Now having nothing to tug at and hold onto, the boys fell onto the ground in shock. Before Miles could say anything, the other boy boasted, “I’m so strong, I popped it!” Miles had no idea it was him who even contributed at all to the explosion, so he clapped in amazement for the other boy. Then, the two forgot about the entire incident and went back inside the classroom for independent reading time.“A picture is a poem without words” - Horace.Personality and AppearanceMiles Parker is a brilliant artist, wizard, and friend. He’s kind to everyone he meets and can make even the most stoic person in the wizarding world giggle with a simple joke. Sure, he’s a talented wizard as well, but the real magic is his charm and humor. He’s a little childish, but it’s just fun to be childish sometimes. Who needs to be serious all the time?
The kid is possibly the most lovable person in the wizarding world, but if you manage to get on his bad side, you’ve either insulted his friends, family, or house. Miles is fiercely loyal and kind, but his wit and creativity secured him a position in the Horned-Serpent house.
Miles has hazel eyes and dark brown hair and stands at 5'4. His arms are covered in fake tattoos, drawn on with a sharpie from the moments in class where his boredom drives him crazy. Well, half of them are sharpie, and the other half are inkbox tattoos. Sadly (for him), he’s not old enough for the real thing. His nails are often painted and sport chipped, mismatching colors.
