Phoenix had been wandering ask over the castle and she had found many fun and exciting things! She talked with a girl who said there was a scary abandoned bathroom on the second floor.
Now I've seen spooks in my life, so I was excited to see what this one was. I didn't care that the bathroom might have been haunted by a scary creature. I know it probably is because I'm at a magic school but who cares! I walked up the stairs and saw a room with a bathroom sign above it. Me being stupid said, "Watch out monsters. Phoenix Fling is here!" I stood up straight in front of the bathroom hoping if anything was inside it knew I wasn't joking. I took a few step forward into the bathroom. Then paused it didn't smell amazing because it smelled like mold, but then I walked in anyway. It was pretty dark so I pulled out my emergency candle and a match, then lit the candle. When it lit up the room I saw it looked like it was a pretty well organised bathroom, but with mold over stuff. I walked forward towards the sinks but I stopped. I heard something.

Having been stripped from the muggle world, Kendra finds it difficult to adjust in a world full of magic that has been considered a joke and a circus act in the place she’s from. The place was indeed beautiful and enchanting but every corner seemed to be enchanted. Floating candles, moving and speaking people in portraits, ghosts... It was all too much for her.

The abandoned toilet on the second floor was an accidental discovery but a rather pleasing one. This was the only place she had found solace in, away from wizards and witches who had seemingly adjusted quite fast. Kendra had been going into the abandoned toilet for a couple of days now without any interference with the exception of its ghost inhabitant, Moaning Myrtle. But Myrtle was not that bad. She had someone to share her sentiments with. Myrtle could relate to some extent seeing as that she too was a muggle born.

Tonight, Myrtle was nowhere to be found. Kendra had with her a ukulele. Music was her comfort. It reminds her greatly of all the times in her own bedroom back in London where she used to practice all the time. The emptiness of the toilet enhanced the sound of every strum and her voice. She was singing one of her favorite songs when there was a sudden change in the atmosphere as she heard faint footsteps outside the door. Startled, she quickly gathered her belongings and rushed into one of the cubicles, hoping it wasn't a prefect or worse; a professor. There was a sign that says 'out of order'. She would really hate to be the cause of her house losing points.

"Watch out monsters. Phoenix Fling is here!" She heard a voice shout from outside. This was clearly not a professor nor a prefect. Kendra stood closely to the wall of the cubicle as she peered her head through the door to get a glimpse of the person in the toilet with her.

It was quite dim as it was close to the curfew so she only saw a silhouette. Until a light emerged from the candle held by the student. Kendra immediately stepped back into the cubicle to hide herself when she hit the wall with her ukulele, making a sound that echoed around the walls. Figuring that she was busted, Kendra stepped out of the cubicle to face a brunette girl with a yellow tie.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Kendra offered an apologetic smile. "This has been a useful place for me when I feel a little out of place." Kendra tucked the ukulele under her left arm and straightened her red tie with the other.

"My name is Kendra. You must be..?" She trailed off, encouraging a reply from the girl.

Phoenix had walked half way through the bathroom, but stopped because of the noise she heard. It was faint but she walked towards it.
She had heard of Myrtle but never seen her, she hoped if it was her she would be nice.
She heard footsteps coming from a few feet away from her. Then she saw a girl with dark brown hair and a red tie.
The girl said, "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you" "This has been a useful place for me when I feel a little out of place." Then she shifted a little and fixed her tie. Then she said "My name is Kendra you must be..."
"I'm Phoenix, Its nice to meet you. I'm sorry if I startled you before... But I can see why u like it here! It's pretty peaceful." She played with her hair a little. "I've heard stories of Myrtle but does she really come to these bathrooms? I haven't seen her yet, but I'm sure she's nice."
Phoenix shifted her weight on her right leg, she was actually very nervous to meet Myrtle. She had heard good and bad things... Let's hope she's not too mean... After all I'll talk to the people who lied about her, lets see if they lie after that.

Kendra was delighted to not have scared her fellow school mate.

“Phoenix is such a cool name.” She said enthusiastically. “Yeah. This place is the only part of the castle where students don’t usually go to. Well, apart from you and I of course.” She chuckled.

Kendra walked towards the sink to face the mirror briefly then turned right back to Phoenix. “You said you’ve heard of Myrtle?” Kendra has never heard of Myrtle before she discovered the abandoned lavatory. “She’s nice…. Sometimes.” Kendra gave a thin lipped smile. “Though, you don’t want to catch her on a bad day. She tends to get upset quickly and say some…” she shrugged. “Mean things.”

“She says this is where she passed so this is where she usually lingers. She also warns me about a pair of large yellow eyes.” She laughed. “Myrtle would usually threaten me with that when she feels I’ve played my instrument for too long.” Kendra raised her ukulele from her arm.

“Would you like to meet her? I know for a fact that she’s here during the intervals of the fourth and fifth classes every Thursday. Though we’d have to be careful not to get caught.”

Phoenix glanced at her surroundings. She counted the stalls, mirrors, and sinks. Then looked back at Kendra "Well I hope we don't catch her in a bad mood later." She giggled then smiled "She sounds like she doesn't care for a lot of noise or people. But why does she get mad about it?" She walked over to a mirror and looked in at her reflection. "It's sad to know someone died in here, I hope no others die in a bathroom." She wondered why someone would die in a bathroom. What could she have done... Was it on purpose or accident... She looked at Kendra hoping for an answer to come later "I've heard she doesn't like to tell people about herself often. And when she does she crys because she dosent like remembering." She had talked to a few students about the stories of the school, some of them She looked away from the mirror, and looked Kendra in the eyes. Her eyes almost seemed sad. "Why did she die. Was it from another student or teacher? Was it on accident or purpose.." She almost didn't want to know, but she was curious. Hopefully she can prevent it from happening to other students.
