Dear Annie,

Sorry I haven't sent an owl in a few weeks, my mother's condition kept me busy so I couldn't really write an owl, didn't feel up to it. But things have gotten better now so it's all ok. And I'll thank you for that compliment, the book definitely does not fit the cover in my case. But y'know you confuse me sometimes too, I would've never thought you'd play Quidditch or If our meeting conditions were different, I would've easily thought you were lying about a being a prefect. Quidditch seems much more dangerous than dueling, at least dueling in controlled, you have no idea what's gonna happen with a game of Quidditch, I've seen some really bad injuries during quidditch matches before, and again, you fly around at really high speeds, that's the number one ingredient for disaster. But uhh, I'm rooting for you in your next game! And please, next time you wanna make a threat, don't threaten me with a good time.

I usually just like to wear jackets, they're easier to put on, and if it's too hot, very easy to just tie them around your waist and not think about it. But I'll give a sweater a change this year, but ill get it in my light brown, maybe green. Ah yes, the people that put lights on a sweater terrify me, And I won't elaborate on that. Fine fine yea you won. Hmm then what you think about yellow, since that is your house color, I'm not really a fan of it, to be honest. I'm not huge on fashion, I just wear dark colors since they look nice. Ha, yea I understand that blending in is one of my many skills. I think you do a pretty fine job, most of the things you wear aren't half bad... most

It never confused me and kinda impresses me to see a first-year dressed in really lavish clothes and like jewelry, it's gotten easier to accept it after 2 years but still really damn strange. Ha, I forgot you're so short, I had another growth spurt recently, don't think you've seen me since. Next time I see you I should be able to just toss you. It's ok I'm sure you'll grow some more, still got lots of time. But you'll always be shorter than me, remember this. The stilts aren't a bad idea, but no, you are not getting my legs, I need those, for now, If I'm ever not using them, they are all yours.

Looking forward to the next owl then! Don’t worry I'll only feed him a few, but I still gotta get him to warm up to me, he lets me pet him now, he’s actually pretty nice… sometimes. Reminds me of you really. Don’t worry I wont duel with him, and even if I did, he’d probably win. Wow, eating the goods midair, what a skilled owl, but hey if he can pull that off, I won’t even be upset, that’s just impressive.

Well I never said they had to be together, one then, one another day. Gnocchi is pretty good, really good actually, and it's surprisingly fun and easy. I'm sure it's even more enjoyable when with a friend as opposed to alone. A list would be nice, keeps us from forgetting things, oh please, you get bored of me? I am the most interesting person, and if we do get bored we can just break a few rules and go somewhere fun… for legal purposes, that was a joke, because you are a prefect. Oooh I do like some pie, don’t know what cobbler is, and cakes are a bit too sweet for me. Gnocchi sounds fancy but it's like… things made of potatoes, not that fancy, tastes really good, and don't worry, I am not picky at all, I'll eat anything.. Almost anything, still hate black licorice. I went and got some to try again just to reconfirm to myself I really don’t like it.

Oh yup, half-blood, sounds about right now that I think about it. Trust me you didn’t miss a single thing not going to muggle school, it’s… horrible. Ah that's one thing I missed out on, magical etiquette, it's’ pretty weird stuff, but eh. My father’s been teaching me science since I was a kid, he was pretty good at it, at least the basic things, when it got to the more complicated it felt like he was speaking gibberish.

Good, because rats are very good. Fine, spiders are another thing we can agree to disagree on, we do that a lot apparently. You better start training Eiryk to not eat my pet, please. Also why do you hate tiny furry things, they are cute, and often smarter than you would think. And if you do say “accidentally” kill my pet, it's gonna take a lot more than sweets to make it up.

Socks wouldn't be a horrible gift, been wearing them 24/7 for a while now, but like don’t stress about the book, as I said, anything, literally anything. Happy Halloween to you too! This might be coming a bit late though, so sorry about that. I included some muggle sweets for you, enjoy them! If Eiryk didn’t eat them along the way.

Time Skip from Halloween to December 30th After Annie's accident

I owe you an apology.

I was unable to reply back as soon as I wanted because I had.. troubles of some sort. You may also notice this isn't my normal handwriting. My mom is being a scribe for me right now. I'm not sick or injured er well.. technically but I should've let you know sooner as you were probably pretty concerned why I wasn't writing back.

Along with this letter you will find a small package containing a few things since I missed 2 big holidays, I guess three if you count Thanksgiving but I was not sending you a turkey as it would traumatize Eiryk to be carrying one of his relatives. Plus it probably would be pretty heavy.. Anywho the contents you will find inside include the following:

- A navy blue sweater of which I tried to find a pink one but didn't like the color options. Yes it has a turtleneck, I think it would look decently on you along with the color. If you don't wear it that's fine too as it can turn into a cat bed, giant oven mitt or even a hammock if you stretch it enough.

[font= Arial]- Lots of candy like promised such as a dozen chocolate frogs, some sticky caramels, a half dozen of pumpkin pasties a box of Bertie's Botts Every Flavour Beans for fun. I also went ahead and got you some of Ireland's best chocolate, Cadbury chocolate bars! The flavors include milk chocolate, whole nut and fruit & nut. They are very rich so I wouldn't recommend eating them all at once and remember to share with your family too! Tell them I say hi![/font][/size]

[font= Arial] - Lastly, I did get you a book although choosing one seemed rather difficult. Since you are considering going into dueling I figured you might want to know a few things. Sure you can cast spells but general knowledge of knowing what to look for before your enemy casts could be helpful too. Or even foot placement for the best chance to dodge an oncoming attack. It's called The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection. I also considered getting you Jinxes for the Jinxed buuut I figure one book at a time is enough for you and I probably shouldn't get you a book about jinxes.. If you do happen to want it though it is in Flourish and Blotts.[/font][/size]

Thank you for the gifts! I loved them all, and have already started reading the book. Thanks for that! The sweater will be my main go to in the coming months and already halfway through the sweets. Ha, i'm sure Eiryk would have eaten the turkey on the way here more than anything. I'm sending back some gifts too, spent a lot of my savings of this so you better love em.

-The feather on this quill reminded me of Eiryk, so that was already a huge plus, and on top of that it’s got an owl charm, what else could you possibly want really. It should come with some ink, i’m pretty sure you run through a lot that, so it can’t hurt to have more.

-I think you’ll love this potted plant, I considered just keeping it since I love the color, but I guess I'll let you have it. It’s pretty low maintenance from what I know, just give it plenty of sun and some water every now and then, careful not to overwater it though.

Truthfully? No everything is not okay. But I'll overcome it, I always do when I have struggles. Nothing will stop me, just temporarily make it more challenging for me. Sorry for being so cryptic in my last letter, I am just mentally coping with things right now. What I'm going through is one hell of a change. And no, it's not puberty before you start making some snide remarks.

Well so much for fun during Christmas Break aye? Least I have your company even if it's through letters. Hope you are having a great break! I did receive your gifts and wow the feather is super soft haha! I haven't been able to use it for writing yet as I don't want to waste the ink with my horrible handwriting. I feel unworthy to hold such a majestic quill! Eiryk did give it a look as if to question why it looked like it was plucked from his breatharian as my mother described it to me. Made me cackle quite a bit, poor guy is grumpy I'll do the same to him now.

The plant is super awesome! I like the texture of it. Okay, yes I'm weird for feeling all of my gifts before actually appreciating them but like touch is a cool sense isn't it? Maybe it's just me ahah.. ah well.. Glad you didn't keep it for yourself but hey low matinence that's good for me. My room is pretty dark because I like it's "cave aura" so it's no wonder I occasionally kill my plants. I'll try to keep this one alive. Say.. should I name it? I tend to name my plants. Yes I know. Naming an inanimate object you must think I'm more crazy than you already thought I was.

If you couldn't tell already I am a very fidgety person with having to feel and play with things so this necklace is awesome! I can trace the design and the pearl is really smooth even for it not being real. Not like I need a real pearl anyways, I am very good at loosing things, more so than I'd like to admit. Usually all my necklaces get worn once or twice and disappear into the depths of my closet or.. clothes on the floor as is it's current state. Also, ding ding ding we have a winner! You did remember my favorite color, I'm impressed. Your favorite color is green too no? I mean it's perfect for you since you are in Slytherin. Thanks for spending your money and braincells on finding the perfect gifts for me they are totally awesome!

You know what this means, since we exchanged Christmas presents now we'll have to always exchange presents that means birthdays, other holidays and everything.

I sincerely hope you get better, while I have no idea what’s really going on, I think I know you well enough to know that you’re way too stubborn to let anything get you down. I don’t mind, I get it, it feels like a hurricane just going off in your head right, a mix of every emotion possible? I felt that way when I was told the news about my mom, I think it goes away after a while. And yes, I was going to make snide remarks but… I'll save them for later.

Agh Christmas was kinda a disaster for me, and i'm assuming the same for you? The letters are the least I could do, and helped me a lot too through these stressful times. I’m glad you liked the quill! It’s probably gonna get used a lot since it's not going to be a while till I get back to school, so we’ll be exchanging letters for a while, my mothers condition didn’t improve as much as we hoped. Ha, I made sure to give him some extra muffins this time around just to make up for it, I need to get back on his good side again I imagine.

I mean we all enjoy different things I guess? I don’t judge, but yes the plant has a good texture… I got it more for its unique color but it each their own. Just make sure it gets like a lot of light. Ill look past how suspicious you sound right now, but it makes me think something happened to your hands or something.. Naming it sounds good, you’ll be more motivated to take care of it that way, hey again I don’t judge… that much. In terms of the name if you want my suggestion maybe combine our names? Like uhh Dalanie no that sounds weird.. Annidale? That sounds like an actual name so I'll go with that one.

I honestly had no idea you fidgeted that much, but to be fair I don’t spend my time staring at you either, but I am glad you liked it! Maybe for your birthday I’ll get you a fidget toy, they apparently help with stress and things, pretty cool. I’ll make sure to not get you thing small and expensive then, hey as long as you wear it like once I'll be satisfied honestly. HA! Yes I did remember it, honestly I thought I got it wrong, yup I love green, and I liked way before It came by house colors, hey I am glad my few brain cells left are being used for something.

This was honestly fun so I am down to do it every year, you just have to tell me when your birthday is… I always forget, oh and remind me when holidays are coming up I always forget that too.

Dear Dale,

I apologize for the delay of this reply, I was supposed to send one back in March but had failed to find any motivation to write after I got back to school after Winter Break. You are right that I'm too stubborn to let anything get me down but it's currently an uphill battle in my books. A hurricane? That sounds about right emotion wise. Maybe if either of us are feeling overwhelmed we can meet at a place during the summer camp and we say "Hurricane". Then we can just talk it out and I can find out who you are. Er that sounds ominous, you'll know soon enough what I mean. I hope your mother is doing better as you said that her condition wasn't improving as much as you'd like. Tell her I say hi and wish her a speedy recovery!

School is slow as always, but hey it's almost over right? Then I can see you at summer camp, hopefully. You still haven't told me if you are planning on coming or not but I seriously need some company while I'm there. I have no friends and even as a prefect I'm awkward around other people. Funny hm? Well either way I miss your presence so come back soon so I can tease you more and we can do more adventures, without getting into trouble that is.

I hope you had a good spring break! I kinda just stayed at home. It was still cold so nowhere to go and nothing to do. Was yours more eventful than mine? I'd hope so. Texture is cool to me, yeah it's strange. I have never seen a blue succulent like this though so I do enjoy it since it's unique. Haha sorry for keeping you in the dark.. That was a bad pun but I will make sure to give it lots of light. I've only ever killed plants by not watering them enough, even though my room is dark they still get sun. Annidale! Why does that sound like an elven city? I like it though. We are now plant parents. I promise I won't kill the child now that it has a name! Maybe I can send it to you some time so you can see how good of a job I am doing and see how it grows!

Yup I am a fidgety person. No ADD or ADHD that I know of but just.. restlessness? Either that or I am the exact opposite and fall asleep quickly. I've never tried a fidget toy, I'd probably break it or be really distracting with it haha. Ah awesome we have the same favorite colors! I will stray more towards green things and away from pink for you in the future haha. My birthday is April 14th, of which has already passed as well so I guess both of us forgot. I'm sorry it's been a while, I'm still recovering from the past few months... I'm not really sure how I'm gonna word this so I'll just say it. We had found out around march that my mother's cancer was fatal, and that she only had a few months left to live. It was hard to accept them, harder to accept now. She died last month, so I'm sorry If I don't owl back any more, I'll see you at school next year, take care of yourself please.
