Where Opeila had tried her best not to let the paths of the teams cross, she had sent two of them into the Great Hall. One of them was the Dorea Potter Team, one of the teams she didn't worry about at all really. She knew and got along with both Illowy and Bridget and she remembered Starlee from the Quidditch Scrimmage. An excitable first year who she would stay away from as long as they had a bat in their hands, but otherwise pretty alright to talk to. Only Thora was a bit of a stranger, but Opeila only had positive memories of her housemate.

She had not made a lot of effort with her hiding places for the different clues- for one team it was on the left door, for the other on the right. Fairly simple, but it wasn't about taking ages to find the exact location of the clue, this was about solving the riddles. Once they had done that, the rest was rather easy.

Reducio
What did you do first?
Dancing and Fixing.
What did you do last?
Protect yourself from rain.
Where did you do all that?

Opeila had not followed this team first. All five Slytherin teams had been on one spot and the riddles had different levels in terms of difficulty. Some left their common room earlier, some later. It didn't matter so much, Opeila would always know where they would go next- as long as they stuck to what the clue told them.

The year previous Illowy hadn't participated in the Dorm Battles, though she had heard about them through the grapevine. Why she hadn't signed up then, she wasn't entirely sure. Maybe she was caught up with studies, or simply didn't care at the time, whatever the reason, this year she'd decided to play the game. After all, she needed something a little less stressful, with less 'do or die' implications. A little brain game would be a good change of pace. Just as well, she felt good about the team she'd been assigned to.

There was with Bridget, whom she considered to be her closest friend, Thora who was friends which Bridget and that was enough for Illowy to put faith in her, and then Starlee, who had been her dueling partner for their final duel of the season. Sure, there were some reservations because she was a first year, but she also offered a fresher perspective then the older girls might have. They had good group, a clever group. The snake had confidence in their ability to figure the various riddles out quickly and efficiently.

When the first clue had been given to them in the Common Room, Illowy wasn't entirely sure that she was on the right track with her gut idea when she suggested the Great Hall. After all, it had a sky, though magically made, and the floor was made of stone, but she wasn't sure what sort. Truthfully, she thought her teammates had the better idea of going to the lake. After all, sky above them and sand stone beneath them was awfully broad; and interpreting it literally wasn't a bad idea. However, at least if she was wrong, the hall was on the way outside and they might fall back on the right track again.

As the group scurried up the stairs from the Slytherin Common Room, Illowy felt herself get nervous that they might be wasting time on her wrong answer. At least, until they found the little envelope containing the second clue waiting for them on the door of the Great Hall. Chewing her lip a little, Illowy listened with her group as Bridget read off the clue:

What did you do first?
Dancing and Fixing.
What did you do last?
Protect yourself from rain.
Where did you do all that?

Maybe she was getting a little overzealous. Perhaps she was just overly confident or cocky at this point having figured out the first clue. Either way, the snake couldn't contain herself, "Its Charms class." she blurted out, barely giving anyone else even half a chance to guess before her. Okay, so that was probably a little rude... she never had been the best at teamwork and her skills were admittedly a work in progress; but she was just so confident that she was right. Illowy was at a prodigal level with charms, and had been since first coming to the school. On top of that, you had to be at least somewhat decent and know your charms if you were going to be on the dueling team; and if there was one thing she rightly was confident in, it was knowing her charms.

Bridget seemed to agree to her housemate's suggestion, reminding them how Tarantallagra and Reparo were the first lessons had been the first charms lessons they'd had their first year, and Pluvia Velo had been the last; this only reinforced Illowy's own certainty on the answer.

If another team had found their way to the Great Hall as well, Illowy wasn't paying attention to them. There was no time for it. It was best they simply focused on themselves and moved as quickly as they could through the riddles. No need to add more pressure then necessary by watching the other teams fumble through their own riddles, and wonder if they were further or not.

"The Charms Class it up on the third floor. We should move fast." she grinned, bouncing on the balls of her feet slightly. Illowy found herself to be a little more excited then she thought she would get during this whole endeavor, "If we move quickly, there's less likely the stairs will give us any trouble." by Merlin's beard did she hate getting stuck on those bloody stairs when you're already running late for class; much more frustrating if you get stuck on them during a competition!

Moving to the Charms Classroom

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
