The Mysterious Spirit RPG+ PV Peach Closed

For all Amelia could remember, she had never been this scared before in her life. There were a handful of times where she’d gone exploring her estate and gotten lost and run into small, intimidating-at-the-time magical creatures, but nothing where she genuinely feared for her life. There was always a powerful adult nearby who could help the eleven year old in times of crisis. This was not one of those times, and Amelia briefly wondered how long it would take a professor to come running if her and her friend both started screaming bloody murder. Shaking that thought from her head—which she had to do physically as well, dark curls swaying back and forth around her—she decided to put her mind to use instead of being consumed by these thoughts and emotions.

As the room fell silent for the first time since the pair had walked in, the Lovell girl wracked her mind for all the facts she knew about poltergeists. Peach inched towards the door and Amelia went into a muscle-memory state, following her while lost in thought. Poltergeists were not like ghosts at all, despite their name meaning ‘noisy ghost’. They’re invisible AND physical entities that move objects and create disturbances. They have a strong affinity for adolescents, females reportedly. They could feel pain, but not be physically injured, which made it nearly impossible to get rid of the creature. When another piece of gravel was thrown there way, Amelia felt like she jumped three feet in the air, snapping out of her train of thought.

Peach asked the room once more if there was anyone there with them, and a low laugh followed suit. There was a lump in her throat she could no longer swallow, feeling instantly uneasy after the noise was made. A sense of nausea threatened to take her over as she glanced over at her Hufflepuff friend with a mix of fear and determination. Her friend let out a small scream when she thought she'd felt something touch her, and Amelia nodded her head towards her in understanding, unable to form words quite yet. When her gaze went back to survey the room, wand alit and held in front of her, a pair of dark eyes and a wicked smile was suddenly coming straight for her.

The shriek that Amelia let forth bounced off the walls of the bathroom and she stumbled back into a pile of rubble, feeling the skin leave her palms as she skinned them and fell with a hard thud on her behind. A groan emitted from her plump lips as she clutched desperately onto her wand, somehow still having been able to hold onto the precious essential. “Poltergeists…can fly, and find delight in vandalism.” Her voice was raspy, throat sore after screaming. Dusting herself off abruptly, the first year got to her feet to stand beside her friend again, breathing heavy. “Containment charms and the Unbreakable charm is the only thing I can think of, and we don't have the time or experience to preform either.” A frown was etched deeply into the lines of her face now, scanning the room the best she could for the mid-air creature that had scared her.

That’s when the idea hit her. “Peach!” She exclaimed, looking over at her friend with eyes wide in excitement. “The Langlock jinx! We may be able to preform it and at least hinder his abilities, make him seem less scary.” It would affix the creatures tongue to the roof of his mouth if successful, but they had to find the entity in the dark and hit their target with little to no practice. Biting her lower lip in a nervous way, she looked at her best friend for her thoughts on the situation.

Her body was numbingly sore and her mind empty. They might die, for all they knew. A piece of glass thrown at the wrong place and they would bleed to death before any spells could save them. Her hands shook as she gripped the door handle. If they needed to get out, they could. Hopefully. But when her friend fell to the ground with a shriek, her first thought was that she had to help her. Her feet automatically moved towards her friend and she kneed down next to this one, holding her childhood friend's palms. Small streaks of blood were slowly appearing and the young Hufflepuff damned herself for not knowing any healing charms.

Her hands, still shaky, held her friends' as this one spoke. They were not experienced enough to perform any of the spells she had recited so far and Peach fell lost. She blamed herself for this crazy adventure and the shadow of fear fell upon her harder than it previously had. She swore at herself and picked up her wand, letting its light flutter in the dark. Whispering some words, the light intensified and the room was now nearly as bright as if it was lit by the sun. Questionable red liquid was obscuring the windows, blocking the sun and the room looked worse than what it seemed. She nearly gagged at the thought of it being blood and her eyes scanned the room in search for the stupid ghost. She might have hated it now, for causing so much trouble. She found nothing. It had made itself quieter as Amelia had spoken about a possible jinx to weaken it. The young girl looked down at her friend in shame. She did not knoe that jinx and would certainly be incapable of performing it in such circumstances. Her face, tainted with sadness was pointed towards Amelia.

" I....I dont know that jinx. Nor could I perform it now and then. Maybe the knockback jinx would work to repel whatever it throws at us but I don't know if anything else I possibly know will help. ". Damned was she for such uselessness and damned was she for being such horrible support for her friend. Holding her wand at, she went back to observing the room. The mirror was still as dirty and the shatters oof this one had disappeared from the ground. Holding her free hand out to the door, this one was stopped by a piece of gravel thrown at it. A small cry ran out of her sweet mouth as she scooted closer to her friend. Teary eyes were now anxiously awaiting for whatever would happen next.
