Sorting Ceremony
Manuela lied when she told her brothers that she was not scared of the sorting. She was.
Manuela balled her fists into her robe as she waited to be called. Going into the Great Hall filled her with wonder and awe. Even though her brothers told her a lot about Hogwarts, writting letters upon letters just so she got a glimps of what was waiting for her, it didn't prepare her for the real thing in the slightest. Seeing the Great Hall in person almost took her breath away. The enchanted ceiling, the candles, the students, everything was as her brothers described but seeing it was more.
But as much as the Great Hall filled her with excitement, waiting to be sorted filled her with nervousness. She tried to find her brothers while going up to the front but couldn't duo to the many students. That didn't help ease her nerves in the slightest.
While her thoughts ran circles in her head because of her nervousness, she suddenly heared her name being called. As she went up the stairs, she started to wonder in which house she would be sorted in. Her entire family said Ravenclaw, with no doubt in their minds, but Manuela wasn't a learner. She wasn't smart. She didn't get good grades unless she was interested in the subject. And Ravenclaws are meant to be smart and intelligent. The top students.
She gingerly sat on the chair and soon her view was black.
"Hmm, a quite one, aren't you? I see a thirst for knowledge, even if it is only for the things you're interested in. But you also have a desire to be yourself and to prove yourself, if only to your family and yourself. I also see a strong desire to protect your loved ones, no matter what.. Your love for books is certainly a Ravenclaw trait, hmm..."
My family said I would go to Ravenclaw, Manuela thought absent-mindedly.
"That they did, and I would say that they are right. You certainly would do well in Ravenclaw!"
Well, it seems her family was right in the end.
While going to the Ravenclaw table, Manuela glanced to the Gryffindor table again, trying to find her brothers but she still couldn't see either of them over all the students. Giving up for now, she found an empty spot to sit and waited for the rest of the students to be sorted.
Her brothers would find her soon enough.

Sorting Ceremony
Winter watched as many people went up and got sorted into their proper houses, even seeing her friend jackson from the train. She wasn't necessarily scared of the sorting, more so of the house she were to be placed in. Her entire family had been placed in the more dominant of the houses, Slytherin and Gryffindor. Then again winter always was the black sheep of the Wolfhartz family.
She heard her name being called. She froze for a moment before making her way through the crowd, with her head down and hands tucked in her pockets. When she made it to the stool, she sighed and sat down. As the hat was placed on her head she decided to keep her mind clear and breath steady, to make it seem like she was calm.
Everything the hat was saying had been so accurate. She looked at the probably hundreds of people looking at her, she felt sick to her stomach. She hated being the center of attention it always made her uncomfortable.
She never wanted that. She just wanted to be her normal self happy and content. "i-i'm not looking for fame..." she said in a low tone. It was true she never had the urge to be someone important, she was fine being herself, known to only those who decide to become close with her. Nothing would make her happier then just a few people knowing, and caring about her. To her that was the entire world, she didn't need nor want millions of people towering over her.
Winter was disappointed but made her way down out of the main attention space, as more names were being called, with a sort of smile. She hadn't really been happy with her house but she couldn't go back now. She went over and sat with all the other Hufflepuffs, of all types and years. They greeted her with warm smiles and pats on the back. She didn't known it just yet, but house was more amazing then she could ever have guessed. This was her new home and these amazing people were now officially...
"Winter Wolfhartz"
She heard her name being called. She froze for a moment before making her way through the crowd, with her head down and hands tucked in her pockets. When she made it to the stool, she sighed and sat down. As the hat was placed on her head she decided to keep her mind clear and breath steady, to make it seem like she was calm.
" ah hah, finally another Wolfhartz. I haven't seen one of you for generations! This just must be my lucky day. Somehow, someway i cant place my finger on it- HAHA OF COURSE NOT I DONT HABE ANY FINGERS!! Its just you seem very odd, different compared to your parents and other family members, not so outgoing, rather shy actually. Obviously more self oriented."
Everything the hat was saying had been so accurate. She looked at the probably hundreds of people looking at her, she felt sick to her stomach. She hated being the center of attention it always made her uncomfortable.
" Ahh i see, not a big fan of attention huh? That's too bad if you go the path i predict you will you might just be pretty well known."
"Understandable for a person such as yourself. Well you do not have the social skills and outgoing attitude of a Gryffindor, the want of attention and or fame of a slytherin, or the yearn for knowledge of a Ravenclaw. But you have the dedication, strength, courage, and heart of a Hufflepuff. I think it is only right to put you where you truly belong."
HUFFLEPUFF!
HUFFLEPUFF!

Sorting Ceremony
Arden Wasn't Nervous, not really. He had been told that these houses were essentially teams. All Rivals who competed against each other and stood for different things. Those things were all good in their own right. Courage, or cunning, or wits or friendship. There was no real best house. Or rather, thats what his dad tried to get him to believe. Arden almost believed too until he saw the large hour glasses and he cocked an eyebrow, looking towards an older student and pointed them out. "Hey, what are those for?" he asked, his thick Irish accent impossible to miss.
the other student went on to explain that it was for the house cup. Grades, or sports victories, or other merits earned you points...the house with the most points won the cup.
Won...the cup
So which house you got sorted into could matter a whole lot. Sure friendship was important, noone could accomplish much of anything on their own. being cunning helped, being able to come up with tactics, thinking on your feet. Ofcourse if grades helped having the smartest or most bookish students gave an advantage in that field but would that be enough? No the house that made the most sense to him was the house of fighters. Courage, having a fire to fight, never back down no matter what. thats the winning house
Arden knew exactly where he wanted to be...but the problem was he didn't know how.
His dad wouldnt tell him, something about a sorting ceremony but the specifics were a mystery to him. Noone on the train, or in the hall with him would tell him either. Was it like getting picked for a sports team? Captains just pointed out who they wanted? would there be try outs? was there a form he was supposed to fill out? Shite had he already messed things up for himself?
As he sat there, running through things in his head over and over and over a loud voice suddenly cut through and startled him.
Doherty, Arden!
With a confident smile towards a random student he got to his feet and strode forward to sit on the stool. He hadnt really been paying much attention up till now, he knew people were called up and put on a hat but he didnt realize it moved it talk. As it shifted on his head it was equal parts weird and really cool. Every day he learned new things about this magical community and honestly he was sort of irritated that his dad kept it from him for so long
"Desire to be the best? No, you already are...atleast in here you are. Any means, under handed as well? I wonder...but you seem up for the challenge. even now, trying to figure out how to beat me. Trying to figure out your limits and exactly what you are capable of. Will you be mediocre and fizzle out? or become something more? Better be...
GRYFFINDOR
Cheering erupted from the table where all the crimson clad students were. gryffindor huh? Well that was easier than he thought. Time to go join his house mates, his team and start working to be the best Wizard, the best lion he could be.
