While listening to him Dakota had a smile, her gaze watching Simon. Dakota let out a light laugh, turning her gaze away as she thought about whether or not she was the adventures type. There had been the times where her and her brothers had explored the forest behind their grandparents home, or when they had gone climbing through a abandoned building. Dakota guessed that she could be considered a adventurous person on some degree.
Tilting her head lightly she decided she was curious enough to find out what Simon was thinking of, not having explored the castle much as she was too anxious to do so. “Sure, I suppose I could be considered adventurous, what are you thinking of?” raising a eyebrow gently, Dakota kept her gentle smile towards Simon before she seems to have finished processing what Simon had been saying and quietly thanking him. Dakota hadn’t been expecting to meet someone, yet alone go on a adventure with them or possibly make a friend. Keeping her hands tucked into her lap she pressed her lips together. Deciding to keep quiet till he answered Dakota peered softly at Simon, her mind still curious about what could be in store for her and if she had possibly made a new friend.

Trying to be convincing with @Dakota Olson

"Well, it's finally warmed up a bit. We had that spell for awhile there in the Spring where it was pretty cool but now that its getting warm, what do you say we meet after supper to try a swim in the Great Lake?"
After all, one shouldn't swim alone.

It wasn't something they were supposed to do and it could even bring them in after curfew since curfew that year was so early due to the hags at the beginning of the year. Crazy stuff that castle had.

"If we wait until then, the heat of the day will have subsided some," and so will the light of the sun which would make it easier for him. "And I haven't been to the Lake very often, but I've heard there are merpeople down there and a Giant Squid." That would be super cool to see.

He smiled over at Dakota, hoping that maybe, just maybe, he might be charming enough to convince her to come along. Sometimes he could be convincing and other times he failed miserably. "Close your eyes, close them, and listen carefully to that little voice in your head." He got up and moved near her and softly whispered. "Go to the lake, Dakota. It'll be fun."

Dakota tilted her head lightly, she hadn’t been swimming in a few months at the least but she was intrigued by this offer Simon was giving. He made a good point, going out after would allow for the grounds to be cooler and the lake would’ve cooled off from the heat of the sun, but she wasn’t so sure about going swimming with the giant squid or merpeople. Simon had been right about something else related to Dakota, she was a reader, one that loved to read about not only the Hogwarts grounds but the creatures and people who inhabited it. Seeing as they didn’t have much information on Merpeople Dakota was unsure how safe it would be to go swimming where they reside.
When Simon had said the part about closing her eyes she grinned lightly, and to humor him did in fact close her eyes. Hearing him whisper the next part and realizing he was closer Dakota snorted out of laughter, opening her eyes and tilting her head yet again. The doubts of their safety still lingered in her mind but she decided to push those away. Peering at Simon she sighed softly, acting as if she had been defeated in a sense “alright—alright, I’ll go swimming in the Great Lake with you.” saying this, a bit of excitement surged through her, the prospect of swimming in cool water causing this.
