Amelia smiled at Winnie, once she got a clearer view of the girl's face she recognized her from a few classes they shared together. "Thanks!" She smiled as she got complimented on her bike riding, "I am a Half-blood, I haven't actually rode a bike in a bit so I'm glad that you think my skills are worthy of a compliment." She laughed. "Your skills are quite good as well, I was watching you back there." She gestured to where she had been before she cycled over to the group. "Not in a stalker way though, I promise."

She nodded when Winnie mentioned the chocolate frogs, "Go look for chocolate frogs? I'm down, I do love chocolate. Do you guys collect the cards? I have a small collection at home, but it isn't that great." Amelia was never a huge collector, but she loved chocolate so much that she frequently asked her mum to buy her chocolate frogs and it just so happened that she had started a small collection for herself.

She turned towards the other girl (Samantha), she didn't recognize her and she couldn't remember if she had ever mentioned her name. "I'm so sorry if you've told me already, but what's your name? I'm Amelia! I don't think I actually told you that when I came over." The girl had mentioned a race, and Amelia was definitely intrigued. She couldn't help but be just a little bit competitive when it came to racing and competitions, even if they were just games. "I'd love to race! Maybe we should race first and then go look for some chocolate frogs as a reward?" She suggested.

Whether the girl who was still currently attempting the ramps would join them or not, Amelia would start pedaling over to the large mechanical clock.

Most of the students were grouping up, assisting and talking between themselves, leaving Dee mostly to watch and be entertained.

With Aurora and Henry, two new faces appeared, but also paired up, although Dee offered both of them a wave on arrival. When her gaze got caught on them again later, she blinked, a little confused. What were they doing with their legs? Were they okay? But they didn't seem to be doing anything dangerous, and at least they were entertaining, so Dee decided to leave them to it, keeping her silent judging to herself.

She'd also spotted Opeila on the field, accompanied by someone Dee didn't know [Anja], both of whom received a wave and a grin. Did Opeila know how to ride a bike? She didn't actually know anything about the girl, she realised, despite their shared year and tent last summer.

Winnie and Samantha took to her suggestion of being her personal taskforce with enthusiasm, although Samantha expressed some disappointment about her apparent weekend plans of attacking people, at which Dee snorted with some amusement. "As long as I'm not around, it's not my problem," she retorted playfully, then watched as they took off to join up with Suzuki and Amelia.

Dee had been about to approach the former herself, watching with increasing amounts of concern the repeated, failing attempts at jumping. A Gryffindor, obviously, couldn't be anything else. But with Winnie and Samantha approaching, Dee decided to hang back. Maybe they'd all make friends, which was the main reason of errands in her mind, anyway.

A little more alarming were the trio of Ileen, Kazuo, and Jack, more specifically that Ileen was already hexing the Hufflepuff. While Dee in some capacity counted on the animosity between the former two, she couldn't have them blow up in the middle of her errand. Being around Ileen was an odd experience at the moment, unresolved tension at least from her side making their interactions more strained and awkward than they had ever been. It was exhausting to keep resentment going over two weeks, but it was also impossible for Dee to just give it up, could feel it bubbling in her stomach, still. Narrowing her eyes, she vowed to keep a close eye on the three of them.

Ruka also seemed to have found some support in Jake, and Dee grinned, deciding to head over to the two of them. Apparently the Hufflepuff was still convinced that the best policy was safety first, second, and third, because when she arrived, she could hear him advocating for wearing a helmet. Honestly, at this school, this attitude was likely a smart one, although the risk of serious injuries during this errand was rather small in Dee's estimation, unless Ruka imitated his house mate and attempted tricks and jumps right off the bat.

"Ruka, Jake, hi!" she greeted them brightly, braking and stopping next to them, setting one foot onto the ground. "Thanks for joining! How are you doing?" The enthusiasm was obvious in her voice, excitement about her first errand still carrying her along. There was also a glint of amusement in her eyes, however, very aware that Ruka's first attempt hadn't been crowned with much success. "You should definitely wear a helmet when out in traffic," she repeated, nodding seriously. "Might save your life."

Later, she handed out chocolate frogs to Lily and Starlee as they left, gifting them a bright smile along with the chocolate. "Thank you for coming, I hope you had fun," she said sincerely. "Get back to the castle safely!"

"One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar."

Serena had not had the pleasure of cycling around in quite some time. Her father had bought her a bike when she was younger. A cute one with a flower basket and training wheels. It did take her a little while to get the training wheels off but she had not really gotten comfortable with the whole thing before her mother decided it was not very ladylike and she ought to focus on other things. It was around this time that Serena was forced to start taking piano lessons instead. Playing the piano was not a hobby that she found herself being good at. In fact, she seemed to struggle with it, despite her efforts. Serena always preferred the outdoors and riding a bike was just way more fun than being cooped up indoors. At least that was the case to her.

So when she heard about the bike event that was taking place on the grounds, Serena was very eager to sign up. Rushing down to the grounds, she made her way over to the quidditch pitch. It did not take her long to get there, given how many times she had come there for games in her quidditch year. Oh how that felt like a lifetime ago now... It was only really last year though.

Her gaze fell onto a prefect that she did not really know. There were a bunch of bikes around too and they were encouraged to pick one up. With a huge grin on her face, Serena quickly made her way over to the stack of them and helped herself to a blue bike. She did not feel comfortable going off on her own, as it had been years since she had one and she barely learned how to ride without the training wheels. So she opted to listen in to the demonstration, hoping to get some pointers that would make it a smoother experience for her.

Having no idea that she could fiddle with the seat to lower it, Serena mounted it as it was. It was way too high for her. It was relatively low (perhaps close to as low as it could actually go anyway) but she found that her feet could barely touch the floor. It would be fine if she literally tiptoed. This was definitely not very comfortable. The former seeker found herself instantly missing her broom. But this was a different experience, one day - when she was taller - she could ride the bike with a bit more ease. Or perhaps get a smaller sized one... Short person problems!

Wobbling, she tried to steady herself as she sat down on the seat and leaned herself to one side so that she could lift one foot onto the respective pedal. The other foot was planted firmly on the ground. It took her a good few minutes of wobbling before she found herself pushing forward to move. "Ah-" She instantly almost fell, wobbling all over the place. Her hands gripped the handle tightly but pushing the pedal with one foot, kicking off the ground with the other and trying to steer all at the same time threw her for a second. This was not as easy as she remembered it being. The bike was way too high!

But Serena had spent many months taking hits from iron bludgers and falling dozens of feet so falling or getting a little hurt was not something she was afraid of. She had plenty of experience and honestly, there was no way that this would hurt more than those did, even if she did manage to fall off the bike.

With that mindset, she felt a renewed sense of confidence surge through her. Pushing off again, after she had managed to find her balance, she started to push on the pedals with both of her feet. The bike moved forward. At first, she would wobble around a little as she was too busy focused on the movements of her feet. However, within a few moments, she had managed to get herself a bit more steady. Every so often, she relapsed and wobbled around - like when she found herself getting distracted by something. It took about ten minutes or so for her to gain a lot more confidence on it, and start to steadily cycle around the grounds. She was even bold enough to remove one of her hands from the handle after about fifteen minutes in order to scratch the side of her nose quickly - and she did not fall off!

The wind hit her face, pushing back her hair as she rode faster and faster. It was a great feeling. She missed this. Whilst they were very different experiences, Serena wondered if her broom flying abilities helped her in this. Flying a broom required a lot of balance as leaning could change everything. It was kind of similar in this. Though, she did find herself leaning forward sometimes when she wanted to go faster and then remembered that that was now how bikes worked. Nonetheless, she found herself grinning at the experience. She had forgotten how much she used to enjoy cycling around with her baby bike. It felt like a lifetime ago. It was quite a few years ago - before she had started at Hogwarts. This event had definitely made her remember though. Perhaps she should look at investing in a bike that she could use in the holidays. Though she was not sure that her mother would approve... Her father would totally buy it for her, right?

As she cycled around the grounds, she pondered if she could convince them. Maybe she would be allowed to cycle down the street or go to the shops or something with it! She had no idea but she was almost in fifth year so she should be able to go outside to the local shops by herself now, right? She was almost fifteen! She was turning fifteen in a few weeks, after all. A big girl now! Serena rode around the grounds happily, trying to steer away from people.

She would have gone up to someone who she recognised but there were not very many people she knew here. A lot of them were unfamiliar faces. The only one she recognised was one @Jake Morris but he looked busy with other friends of his. The others were mostly people she did not really know.

Perhaps it was better that way. If someone like Stavrou saw her, her mother would probably find out. Since she did not really recognise anyone, she rode around by herself for a while. After some time, she put the bike away. If she saw the prefect (@Dealla Prince) again, she would thank her for arranging the experience for her before leaving.

As she walked off, she noticed that her legs felt a little weird. Perhaps tired or just expecting something different than walking. With a laugh to herself, she continued planning how to get a bike. Maybe if she got a job. Though her mother would probably hate that more...

The whole experience made her almost forget that the other schools were attending soon. Turns out that cycling was a good distraction from worries and a good way to relieve a little bit of stress. At the very least, Serena was feeling a lot more confident now - ready to tackle on whatever happened in the coming weeks. This was probably the last time she ought to be so carefree though. Hmm.

Image posted by the member For some, today’s weather wouldn’t have been too welcoming but Carolyn rather liked it. She didn’t appreciate when it was too hot and the sun always burned her skin anyway. “Should we take a short walk?” She asked her furry friend, who was currently lounging at her bed, seemingly very satisfied with his situation. “Oh come on Mordred, you can sleep later.” The girl shook her head disapprovingly as she started to dress up. She opted to go for a casual clothing this time, wearing simple jeans, white t-shirt and a snazzy gray sweatshirt. As an afterthought she also tied a scarf around her waist just in case it turned colder than she expected or if she wanted to sit down for a bit. By the time she was done, Mordred already lurked by the door. “See, that was not so hard, was it?” She teased the feline fondly.

The two didn’t really have a clear destination in mind but Carolyn took her bag full of art supplies just in case she decided to take a drawing break. For most part their journey was rather peaceful until they reached the Quidditch pitch. The Ravenclaw wasn’t aware there was an errand going on today. She also didn’t know what day it was. Still, hearing the commotion the curiosity got the best of her and she decided to investigate what was going on. Not like she had anything better to do anyway.

Bikes? She perked up upon seeing the familiar vehicle. Back home she was riding bike almost daily. She liked to walk too but when she went somewhere further or wanted to tire Morgana out, she would go for a ride instead. It also brought a lot of fond memories. Learning how to ride a bike was one of the few times her father actually took vacation and stopped thinking about work. She had his full attention then. She even pretended not to know how to do it after she learned everything just to keep him around a little bit longer. Now that she thought about it, it was pretty sad but she didn’t regret a thing. Shrugging off her somber thoughts, Carolyn finally noticed their prefect among all the other students that either rode or ATTEMPTED to ride a bike. She would lie if she said it wasn’t at least somewhat amusing to witness the struggle but it was also nice to see them trying to learn something new. Especially since it was a muggle skill. She was sure most of the learners were students from pure-blood families and she really appreciated their willingness to try. “Hello Dee…was this your idea?” She asked her classmate once she reached her. “That’s really nice of you. It’s okay if I borrow one too, right?” She looked around then. It seemed like everybody who struggled already had someone to help them. “Of course, I’ll help if someone needs it.” She promised, already inspecting the leftover bikes. “Oh perfect,” the raven haired witch whispered as she noticed one that had a basket attached to the handlebars. “You want a ride Mordred?” She smiled at the cat hiding behind her legs. Thankfully, Carolyn already trained her friend at home and it appeared like he quite enjoyed exploring the world from the safety of the wooden container. “I’ll see you around, call me if you need anything,” Carolyn told Dee one last time before departing to have some fun herself.

Luckily, the bike she has chosen seemed to fit her just right. She had to adjust the saddle a bit but other than that, it was perfect even if somewhat plain. Carolyn didn’t need a fancy ride as long as it worked well. Mordred didn’t seem to care either and immediately jumped into the basket, fully knowing his place by now. “Good boy,” she scratched him behind the ears and then lifted her feet of the ground, propelling herself forward. She decided to avoid the racing course in order to keep her feline friend safe and to have a clear view of others in case someone needed her help after all. Racing wasn’t her thing anyway. She rather enjoyed a leisurely rides in the city or a park when Morgana ran next to her and Mordred would sit comfortably in his basket as he was now. To anyone, who was watching, it was very clear how comfortable she was on a bike. Back straight and perfect balance, her inner ballerina was simply present in whatever she did. Except broom riding…she was still not a fan of that one. She had every respect for the members of the Quidditch team but she would never dare to join them. By now Carolyn could fly without much troubles but she was always careful. She couldn’t afford any injury, although she supposed most common injuries would be fixed pretty quickly at Hogwarts. Still why take the risk? This on the other hand, was very nice. The wind was gently caressing her face and for the first time since her maternal grandmother showed up in her life, Carolyn felt truly free.

Sorry that my post is so late

Samantha grinned, she loved candy. "I also collect the cards, I have lots of doubles. I really love chocolate, well I love all kinds of candy's, so I have a lot of cards. My favorite candy are the Bertie Bott's Beans, because you never know which one you are going to get. Of course some aren't as good as others, but overall they are really nice. My favorite bean is birthday cake, what about yours?" Samantha looked at the other girls waiting for an answer.

"I didn't? Yes, that's true I didn't tell you my name, you know, sometimes I just talk a lot and then I just forget what I have said. I like your name, I don't think I know anybody with the name Amelia, well now I do, because I know you, but I meant before that. I'm Samantha."

When Amelia told the plan of racing first and then looking for chocolate frogs Samantha nodded. "Yes, I like that idea." Samantha followed the Hufflepuff girl, who was now making her way to the clock. The brunette couldn't resist to show of her amazing biking skills, so she started to pedel faster. She was picking up speed, so she could be at the clock before Amelia.

But before she was able to catch up, she heard somebody yell her name. The young girl turned around to see Aurora coming her way. Behind her there was a boy, who Samantha recognized as Henry, trying to keep up with Aurora. When Sam saw Aurora she was still biking, but that didn't stop her from waving at her friend.

Samantha, who was now standing next to the clock, yelled back: "HELLO AURORA! WE ARE GOING TO RACE, DO YOU WANT TO JOIN?" The young girl always liked having more people join, the more the merrier.

Evelynn had really dropped the ball. When was the last time she had attended one of the prefect-sanctioned events? Truly, she couldn't recall. Quidditch, studies and dungeon-delving distractions had become her norm, taking away from her usual endeavor to present herself a good role model and make an appearance at the very least. What was it that they often said? The hardest day to continue with a goal was the day after one had slipped and failed to follow through with it? This was quite a few more days after that, granted, but she supposed now was as good a time as any to attempt to make reparations. Thus, like everyone else, Evelynn made her way to the pitch.

Per her usual, she kept her face pleasantly neutral. Not one to be overly jovial, it was difficult for her to offer any outright smiles. Those were withheld even from friends except on the rare occasion; or during moments of particularly explosive relief and happiness such as with a quidditch win. However, for any that looked her way, she'd tilt her head and offer a polite dip of her chin, or the hint of a close-lipped smile to those whose faces were familiar to her. Perhaps even a brief wave of her fingers. As for attire, she'd kept herself presentable with black tights under a pleated burgundy plaid skirt, white tucked-in bloused belted at the waist, and her usual riding boots. In hindsight, she might have been better off without those. Cycling was a bit easier in sneakers.

She lingered nearby for the preamble, listening quietly as Prince explained the components, care and use. Some of it was actually new to her. The specific anatomy of a bicycle wasn't something that Evelynn had really ever paid much attention to before. She had one, of course, but it rested leaned up against the side of the barn, forgotten more often than not. Commuting to and from school had usually been done by vehicle, and if ever she felt the desire for a nice wind in her hair, Cassie was her go-to. Not a bike.

Even now, they seemed sorely out of place laid out along the floor of the quidditch pitch. Why spend time riding along the ground when the great expanse above beckoned with such tantalizing invitation. Unless it was like that alien movie for which she'd seen images online with the boy flying off into the night upon a bike. But in the absence of the flying professor and with a heavy lean towards muggle influence, she suspected the only air these would obtain would be if a student decided to venture beyond the bounds, descend the hills of the grounds and hit a sudden bump with speed enough to send them careening. And as entertaining as that might be for all of about five seconds, it wasn't nearly as enthralling as true flight.

Perhaps broomstick manufacturers could consider enchanting bikes instead... That was a compelling thought. Brooms were wonderful, but terribly uncomfortable at times, and not terribly discreet should one have to wander even briefly through muggle territories. People tended to cast a wary and suspicious eye towards anyone carrying a broom for no good reason. Especially one that seemed far too well crafted to be used for something as mundane as sweeping. But a bike... not only would that cast aside any doubt, but it could actually prove useful. Simply land from the air and continue pedaling. Aerial to ground transportation in one smooth transition and without the need to bother oneself with something as undignified as walking.

When it came time for them to give it a go, Evelynn retrieved the nearest unoccupied vessel. It was nothing fancy. Just a plain silver frame that dipped down towards the front tire to accommodate feminine attire. The seat was a bit low for her, so she didn't bother resting upon it. Instead, she pushed off with one foot while pedaling on the down with the other, and rolled smoothly into a coast. It was like riding a bicycle. That old familiar feeling of easy transport. Well, not quite so easy. The grass didn't make for the smoothest of coasting, and the friction meant she had to pedal more than she might have liked, but balance came easily and she did a circuit of the perimeter before returning, dismounting in her deceleration such that when her feet touched down, she just kept walking, guiding it back to its place for the next to use.

A curiosity for some, to be sure. Just a glance around made it quite clear that there were those present who'd never laid eyes on such a device before, and she had to stifle her smirk watching them try to master the balance. And then pedal. Balance then pedal. The fallacy of the ride. It was that first curve that was the hardest to overcome, she recalled. The fear of falling would stop someone from lifting their feet for any length of time. But it was the pedaling that made the balancing easier. The more forward momentum, the less the wobble and the more unlikely a fall. Perhaps she could stick around a bit longer to observe. For safety, of course.

Damion was once again in the midst of something he thought was very exciting and very amazing. Yes! Damion loved doing Errands and earning an unseen amount of points for his house. He loved that he could explore more of what he loved doing and find something that would take his mind away from his best friend- Dylan Rhys. He may even feel a little attracted towards him. He was not sure of that yet. He knew that Dyl was his best friend from Wales. Damion couldn't express how much he missed that friend of his. Well- he was still trying his best to be strong. He missed him very much. He couldn't imagine being away from everything but he had succeeded in doing that for a while now. He was excited to be here.

Well he pushed the thought away and focussed on what he had to do. He was going to ride a cycle. He wanted to do something adventurous. He seemed to have no choice of color on the cycle as they were all orange. He remembered how he had learnt to ride a cycle. something that seemed very dangerous but he had Dylan with him during it. He had been grateful for Dyl's support. He could hear his words ringing in his head.

"Focus and look ahead Damii"

That was exactly what gave him the confidence to ride on. He felt as if Dylan was there. Holding his bicycle to steady it. He got on it and fumbled a little for a minute there. He realized that he was looking down on his feet instead of looking ahead. He had been so nervous to get back on a cycle that he had seemed to lost what was most important for now. He then focussed and looked ahead, and started riding his cycle.

He was happy that he had gotten back to doing what he loved. He had been so busy with his assignments and classes that he had let this pass by. He had been doing other things that seemed more important to him than enjoying something that would make him feel closer to his friend from home. He had been doing other things- like embroidery and paper folding.

Anyways, he had his hands on the handle and was riding the bicycle again. Peddling his way around. He loved how the breeze would flow on his face. He loved how he felt when he was riding the bicycle. He loved that everything felt so good. He was not new to this but was also not very used to riding cycles. He needed to keep his focus in and keep peddling the cycle. He didn't want to lose his focus and... well he was so lost in thoughts of Dylan that he started falling down.

"Pick yourself up Damii and start over. You've got this."

He could hear Dylan's voice encouraging him through it all. He was happy that he still had some connection with Dylan despite being 632.47 kilometers (393 miles) away. He was happy that he had this friendship that he cared so much about. He was happy that he had someone like Dylan he could share his life sort of with. With letters, and gifts whenever he went home. He loved being here.

Well for now, he was picking himself up and getting back on the cycle. He dusted his clothes off, as he had gathered some dirt in them. He was not going to give up just because he had fallen down on the ground. He was much more stronger and strong willed than that. He was going to keep going. He started peddling his cycle again. He could feel it wobbling but he knew if he focussed and looked ahead he would get it back in flow.

And well that is what he had planned to do. Look ahead and just stay focussed. He knew that Dylan was right about that. He started peddling his cycle again. He was doing much better than before. He was happy that he had not given up. He kept riding his cycle without falling down again.

He had listened to what was being explained earlier. But mostly he knew how to ride the cycle thanks to his interests in it from back home. He and Dylan would ride their bikes and go off to visiting places near by. He loved that he and Dylan were allowed to do so. Well they would go to the lake, and well pond nearby. He had really enjoyed doing so with his buddies. He loved that. But right now he was more focussed on riding this bicycle. He was doing his best to not fall down again. He had really loved riding. He had used the bell occasionally. He was just loving this so much. Riding, being outside....

Pericles Dralt knew well enough how to ride a bike, or at the very least, he knew a way by which to ride one. His father, bless his heart, understood that teaching one's children to ride a bike was practically an essential component to any fruitful childhood. Thus, he had taken it upon himself to educate the lad in the ways of cycling early on in life. But this lesson was not merely taught due to the fact that it was listed in a parenting manual. As was the case with much of the man's tutoring, it was imparted with the underlying elements of virtue and character. The warlock had many a thing to teach on the matter, some subjects met with more interest than others by his son. At the time, young Pericles had subconsciously discarded wayward information on "cyclists’ unions" and "cyclists institutions", as much as he valued obscure information. What would linger with him was the reverence with which the patriarch expounded a particular person's high regard of the pastime.

Arthur Balfour, British Prime Minister from 1902 to 1905, had been an adamant advocate of the bike. Despite witnessing such breakthroughs in his lifetime as the invention of the telephone, motor car, electric lightbulb and refrigerator, he was cited as saying there was no invention more "civilizing" than that of the cycle. It was a rather bold, even peculiar stance to take, and these were the sort of standpoints which snagged Peri's interest most easily. On the surface, it sounded silly, but the significance of this line became all the more apparent once one understood its foundation. Balfour, the warlock explained, had reflected on the inevitability of rural recession as cities grew. He credited this to the condition of "national prosperity and growth", though stressed upon the misfortune of denying certain city-dwellers the pleasure of the English countryside and its beauty. Cycles, he said, saved them from such a staid fate. It was by the popularization of cycling that many came to recognize and appreciate the natural magnificence of the unpopulated land, with its unpolluted air and scenic splendor. What was more, even when muggles were separated in many ways by genders, class, and age, any person could enjoy a bike back then. There was a great virtue to cycling, not only of health, but appreciation for the agrestic, and a uniting of all peoples.

A pleasantly similar situation seemed to be taking place today. The school was not separated by houses, years, nor (Merlin forbid) blood, but instead invited to a communal errand for fun and exercise. Students flooded the field, some more familiar with cycling than others. They risked the rain, and so too would Pericles, albeit with very little hesitation. He adored cloudy weather most of all. It was not necessarily the rain he liked, nor the wind, though he would not mind either if it meant enjoying a day like this. There was something special about overcast. With a blanket of cool grey smothering the sky, his abnormally pale skin was no longer threatened by the sun. More significantly however, he liked the sleepy sensation the world tended to take on. Most folks stayed inside, birds quieted, the air grew ripe with anticipation for the downfall. He relished the hushed nature of the world and the smell of impending rain. Pericles dressed accordingly in a slim navy jacket, thick black turtleneck shirt, plain grey pants, and calf-leather hiking boots. Warm, tidy, presentable but sensible, not the sort of thing that would restrict his movement. He moseyed in behind the crowd, his pace gradual and a smile preemptively lurking at the corners of his lips.

With a subtle sense of confidence brewing beneath his tranquil expression, the lad looked for a bike. He was not necessarily picky, though he wasn't keen on any of the models with baskets or bells. A nice, sensible, balanced sort of cycle would do just fine, thank you very much. He hauled one up onto its wheels and swung a leg over. Before he could launch off into an easy loop around the pitch however, he noticed an odd little dial by the bar. Peri paused. He stared, and frowned, and gradually worked up the courage to curiously twist it. His father's bike had been vintage. No, not one of those silly Penny Farthing contraptions with the absurdly tall front wheel; they were an old-fashioned family, but not impractical. However, it was a casual cruiser, one meant for rolling across smooth surfaces such as the garden walkway. Rather than ride, he would soon be spied crouched alongside the bike, mouth quirked quizzically as he turned the dial this way and that, trying to determine precisely what it was for. Stumped, he would eventually relent, turning to Dealla- the coordinator- for guidance. It controlled the bike speed, which didn't make a great deal of sense. Didn't pedaling determine how quickly the cycle moved? If this bike had no engine, why did the gears determine how quickly it could move?

It would take a bit of guidance before the sense was seen, and after some trial and error (alongside one instance of a chain jamming, fixed with a covert Reparo), he was rolling along with the rest of them.

Winter had just been minding her own business, sitting under a tree on this lovely day, when little by little each of the students around her had started making their way down to the Quidditch Pitch. She soon began to grow curious and decided to follow her fellow peers, to see what all this commotion was about.

When she arrived, she had made it just in time to hear the instructions being given. Winter looked at the bikes and tilted her head in confusion. She has seen these somewhere before, in the muggle world, yet never had the urge to examine or find out the name of these odd travel devices. Well she really didn't go outside much so she had no actual need for these 'bikes' as they were being called.

"so that's what these are called... bikes.." she said to herself, looking around at everyone making their way to the bikes that weren't in use. If she wanted to try this out she would need to hurry, for many more students were to come, word was getting out about this 'bike to work day'. She paused for a second before making her way over to a bike, it was red with black handles and peddles. It had been the first bike to catch her eye, resting on its stand, paint glimmering in the sun.

Looking down at the bike she examined it, still a bit curious. She thought for a while before throwing her leg over to the other side, and mounting the bike. She pushed the kick stand up with the heel of her foot and got a firm grip on the handles. Though this was the first time she had ridden a bike she was quite confident she could do this.

She placed one foot on the peddle that was facing closer to the front tire, it just seemed like the perfect spot to plant her foot. Winter sighed and took a deep breath as she let her other foot up, quickly placing it on the other peddle. She pushed forward and continued to do the same, over and over again. She really had been riding a bike.

Now to turn. She saw a curve in the path and twisted her arms, in hope to turn when all of a sudden, CRASH!! she had toppled over, the bike going down along with her. She let out a loud "AGHH" as she fell, sitting up almost immediately. She looked around and rubbed her knee, not thinking much of it as she got to her feet. "This is going to be a lot harder then i thought.." she says letting out a sigh.

Winter had decided to take a slight break, as if to catch her breath. "How in the world do muggles do this-?" she asked herself as she sat on the ground. All the people she had seen ride a bike before made it look so easy. Welp, practice does make perfect after all. The balancing part was easy and didn't seem to be the issue, at least not when riding straight. She got down pretty much all the basics, hold on tight, push the peddles, balance, and use the breaks. She just couldn't turn.

Well she wasn't about to give up that easily. Standing right back up, the gripped the handle and stood the bike back up. Once again she mounted the bike and rode it about the same distance as the previous time. Her grip on the handles tightened as she prepared to turn. And once again she fell. How many tries could this possibly take? All she could do was continue to try and try, not giving up because of a small cut or bruise. She never gave up unless it was totally necessary.

Of course it would take time as said in the instructions 'it takes balance and practice'. Though unsure about how long it would take, its not like she had much more to do today... except lay under a tree or go take a nap back in the dormitories. But that would be a wasteful way to spend her time. Besides, she loved the outdoors and she loved trying new things. No matter the time needed, nothing could possibly stop her from trying.

Multiple tries later, she needed another break. Winter went off and returned shortly after with a few bottles of water. She would probably be here the rest of the day, or at least until this event was over. She returned to her bike and continued to try. Time and time again she fell. Soon becoming a bit aggravated, she got a drink and caught her breath.

This time was determined to complete this task. It had officially become one of her goals to learn to ride a bike AND TURN. She got back on the bike and followed each step carefully. Pushing the peddles, going forward... and- turning just like before, she leaned to the opposite side as the handle bar and front wheel turned together. SHE HAD DONE IT! She held down the brakes and dismounted the bike, putting it back on its stand. "WOO HOO!" she exclaimed, truly proud of herself. She's done what she was set on doing, but what was she to do now???

"Just keep riding"

Closed to interaction.
Time passed rather quietly, after a few early hiccups, most people seemed to take to the pedals rather naturally. Where there were problems, either a helpful peer jumped in, or Dee did. After a while. Had to give people a chance to learn by themselves first, right?

A later arrival was @Eun-ji Lee Hunt (formerly known as Carolyn), who Dee greeted with a cheerful grin and a nod. "Carolyn! Happy to have you. Yeah, I thought a bit of biking would be good for the students, don't you agree?" She nodded at Carolyn's question, smiling. "Yes, just pick one up, and thank you. Have fun! I appreciate the help!"

With things otherwise calming down, Dee spent her time circling the pitch on her bike at a comfortable pace, her legs moving in the familiar motion. It was calming, a piece of her pre-Hogwarts time, teleported here, onto the Quidditch pitch in front of a school that taught her magic. The wind was pleasant on her face - much better than when on a broom, honestly - and Dee blinked up at the grey skies with a smile on her face.

She'd stay for the rest of the afternoon, until the sun approached the horizon and the clouds began to darken, available if anyone had question and handing out more chocolate frogs to those who left. Then she'd shoo the remaining students off the pitch and start taking care of returning the bikes to Professor Wade's Chevy and returning the pitch to its original state, before heading back up to the castle, eating the last chocolate frogs herself.
