This detention is for @Sylvain Wyllt & @Aaron Jones
Leonardo had the first years with him tonight. Now, this class was a handful enough as was, children who had the attention spans of a slice of cucumber, but it seemed that they were always finding a way to cause trouble or find a way to make a question of everything. Leonardo had figured out long ago that this was because these children were 'bored', but up to this point he had found no way to properly address this issue.

Until a certain night had come in which a pair of students had trespassed after curfew with a strangely specific goal in mind:

To touch the moon, or rather, to fly to it and set foot on it.

Now, the mind of the Seer, as Leonardo liked to believe, was just. As such, he had wanted to assign a just detention for a just infraction. Their jobs would be simple. In fact, it would be Leonardo who was doing to be doing the work. He would be the one to help them 'touch' the moon...

A little.

When the boys arrived-- prefect Wyllt and Quidditch player Jones-- Leonardo would be waiting for them with a signature humorless smile. All the first years in the classroom and Macbeth turned in what seemed synchronization to look upon the upperclassmen who had crashed their unassuming class. The letter that the Seer had sent by Macbeth had been vague, sent on the chosen night of the detention; report to the Astronomy Tower at 10 o'clock, sharp.

The familiar, unnerving aura of Leonardo was always present, and mixed with the way he spoke his next words with an almost delighted tone, it would make the discomfort even worse. “Ah, and here are my volunteers now. Many thanks for maintaining your schedule. A manhunt would have proven quite a hassle. Please, step this way." Leonardo indicated to his side with his unsheathed chestnut wand

When the gentlemen approached in their own time, the Seer would continue:
“The first year class has been having difficulty fully understanding the concept of the earth rotating around the sun and the moon rotating in turn around the Earth. You would be willing to assist me in my demonstration and fulfil your detention, yes?" He fixed both boys with a severe gaze as the first years whispered to one another. Leonardo snapped his fingers without looking away from the pair. On cue, the owlet fluttered to a perch just nearby.

If he was asked any question by either boy, the seer would simply raise a hand to cease their speech. “I am sure that you will be just fine. I have a very steady hand and you will not be moving at all... or at least not by use of your feet."

So saying, the Seer quickly slashed his wand at the two with a swift Sublevo Brevi!"
Cast Sublevo Brevi (Spread): Wisdom DC unknown
d20 (19) + 17 = 36 Critical Success due to Seer/Advanced Casting
Split auto-fail (1): 6 (no failure)

Effect: Sylvain and Aaron are now floating a good four or five feet in the air...
Without warning, the boys found themselves suddenly hoisted into the air by a magical force. Oddly enough, their clothing would not be floating, but their actual selves.

With a hand quick as lightning, the Seer would snag each boy by the collar to prevent them from bobbing out of reach.
A huge grin was spread across his face as he gazed up at his handiwork. "I am not too rusty, it appears..." A half musing to himself. The first years were gasping among themselves and Macbeth was quite entertained. His smile suddenly vanished once more, a visible detachment reforming itself as the Seer scowled at the class until they grew quiet before continuing. “Now that we have our models, this one here," The Seer indicated to Jones. “Is our moon, as he is smaller than this one,"
Leonardo indicated Sylvain, “Who will be representing Earth. My dear Macbeth on his pedestal will represent the Sun, as he is not a part of this detention. I recommend taking notes. And if you two feel the urge to vomit from the rotations, do inform me. I do not want to be cleaning up after this physical model"

So saying, the professor began to demonstrate, walking the floating boys around Macbeth on his pedestal, who in turn was shifting his position to watch the spectacle of his master guiding two children around the room in a circle. The boys would both be spinning in a slow circle, but Aaron was deftly guided by a pale hand to rotate around Sylvain while Sylvain had to only be spun in slow circle around Macbeth, guided by Leonardo's own long-legged strides.

This would continue for an approximate ten minutes while the class bombarded Leonardo with questions. This was the Seer's idea of a detention...

A human orrery for all of his first year classes that night.

As it turned out, the worst part of detention for Syl was going to be the anticipation that lead up to the punishment itself. Curiosity of the unknown had, so far, been doing a splendid job of filtering out nearly all of his other; likely more necessary thoughts. It was more fun to imagine what Professor Chiadovini have them do than face the reality of being punished. Would it be a simple errand? Maybe he would have him cleaning up some kind of mess? Perhaps they'd be forced to spend an evening scrubbing the ceiling of the astronomy tower, or worse.... The shite covered floor of the owlery.

There were moments here and there where Syl caught himself anxiously awaiting for the owl bearing their instructions for detention. The wait felt a lot like the minutes that had turned to hours. It was familiar to him, this feeling of time expansion. He had felt this distortion of time-space the first time as he took the ferry beginning his journey from Inverness to Hogwarts for the first time. He was on edge of what he knew, and when he felt this kind of way he thrived. It was not unusual for him to load up on sweets as a form of stress-eating-therapy during these moments and so this morning's breakfast was clearly destined for just that.

Already two blueberry muffins, an orange, and heaping cup of strawberry yogurt into his morning and Macbeth; the lovely assistant of the dreadful Astronomy Professor showed up with vague directions to meet Leonardo in the Astronomy Tower at 10 'o' clock sharp. Astronomy classes were held at night, so with an obvious time and place it was clearer that there would be no benefit in spending the time leading to his punishment pondering what examples could be made of Aaron and himself. That didn't stop Sylvain from trying however. Right before lunch, Sylvain would look for Aaron. When found, he would first check and cross compare their instructions. Next, he admitted curiosity to know if he had any clue what they might end up doing. Were they both going to meet the same punishment? Did the instructions imply they were both being punished at the same time? At least they still had each other. Misery with loving company.

As time drew nearer to the hour of Leonardo's retribution, Sylvain found he possessed an ever growing list of more and more questions. How long would this ordeal last? Was he going to be in trouble for staying out past curfew since the professor had told him he had to, or was Leonardo going to trust that he would take them both back to their dorms like before when he had caught them and given them both a good startle? What was the punishment itself anyways? All of these questions were sucked right out of him as he put his sights on the Astronomy professor himself however. It was no leap in judgement to say the lad found their teacher just as intimidating before class as he was in the middle of it, except now Sylvain had to endure his punishment on top of that fear. His stomach churned a little at the thought.

Almost as soon as the Professor began his lecture, Sylvain found that both of his eyes were reluctant to look at more than his feet. An effort to avoid eye contact with his disciplinarian, the very sight of whom jangled his nerves. When the hypothetical question of whether or not they wanted to help was posed, Sylvain nearly scoffed. Instead, Sylvain remembered his manners and stayed respectful. From his perspective, he didn't have a choice! But that was life so far, and Sylvain was beginning to learn that avoiding difficult choices only presented you with worse options. Some part of him wanted to decline to request, if only to see how Leonardo would react, but then again it was probably better just to save face and be the model earth that the first year students needed him to be. At least his punishment was helping someone else. There was some good in that.

Admittedly, when his friends had asked him what he was going to be doing Wednesday night, Sylvain would never have guessed that performing a trip around the sun with Aaron in orbit to be the answer. The sudden casting of a charm he didn't recognize put the fear of magic in him right and proper, but the feeling of weightlessness was almost a welcome one. As his feet left the ground beneath him, his fear of flying came to the forefront of his mind. If it hadn't been for his stomach's sudden protest, he likely would've enjoyed the punishment. It wasn't until after the fifth or sixth revolution around Macbeth that Sylvain gave a second thought to Leonardo's warning. It seemed his stress-eating combined with his nerves had finally caught up to him, but could he tell the professor he found intimidating that he was about to make a huge mess? A good question.

There would be no clear indication that something was wrong with his stomach at first. Evidence would swiftly come from the look of abject horror in Sylvain's eyes as he realized the upheaval mid process. Clasping both hands on his mouth, stomach hot with fury and throat burning with pain, Sylvain would then look to Aaron while holding back a technicolor yawn. If their eyes locked, and by some miracle Aaron possessed the the gift of telepathy, then he might have a pretty good idea of what was about to happen. Before the seventh pass around Macbeth, mid-revolution, Sylvain would pipe up accidentally breaking the proverbial dam of his hands. "I think I'm going to..." he gulped hard, swallowing more than a lump in his throat. "I'm definitely going to..." He would dry heave, hands returning to the dam in a desperate effort to stay respectful.

Finally, he managed to let out a muffled,"I'm going to throw up." Indeed he was.

In the days after getting in trouble for trying to fly off the Astronomy tower, Aaron did his very best to stay under the radar. He didn't want to attract more attention from any professors, and was wondering if Professor Chiadovini talked to the others during meetings and stuff. Did professors meet about their students? They had meals together, so did they swap student stories over food? Had Professor Jemari, the school's flying instructor, found out about the excursion? Had Aaron's Head of House?

But in those ten days between being caught and the detention itself, Aaron didn't notice anything particularly different in classes. He tried to sit towards the back or avoid eye contact with the professors themselves, but he didn't notice them singling him out or anything. His parents hadn't been told, given the non-mention of it during their owls to each other. It was a relief to think that maybe this detention would stay buried with him, Sylvain and the Astronomy professor. And that whatever it is wouldn't be too bad, as long as Aaron maintained his spot on the Quidditch team. That was by far the most important thing.

Another reason he did not particularly worry was because he was distracted by his thirteenth birthday. Becoming a teenager was a big thing to the second year, and he had been far more focused on that milestone than his detention milestone. Although he didn't host a party or anything like that, January 18th had been a great day of getting birthday wishes, letters from family and feeling like he was much more grown up than he actually was.

A couple days after said birthday was when Aaron received the detention owl. As a teenager now, he knew it was deserved. It was his job to take responsibility for his actions.

When Sylvain approached that day asking about their individual owls, though, Aaron didn't have many answers to offer. The Ravenclaw boy seemed quite concerned about the details, but Aaron - having not given it too much thought over the last week - defaulted to thinking it would just be lines or something silly like that. He'd gotten detention in muggle school before. Maybe it would be like magical lines. But Syl pointed out that there would probably be a class going on at that time, something that hadn't registered in Aaron's mind prior to that moment. Maybe they would have to be target practice for some first year Astronomy spells? Aaron tried to recall all the spells they learned in that class last year, but by the time he came to that idea, it was time for his next class. Not much time to think on it.

When that evening finally came, Aaron was standing with Sylvain in the Astronomy classroom, awaiting details of their punishment. He avoided looking at the first year students, dark eyes trained on the professor instead and looking for a cue as to what would be happening. There was no denying that the man was incredibly terrifying even when not hosting a detention, but today it seemed particularly so. Aaron had thought that the detention itself would be a breeze, but now reminded of the professor's scariness, he was wondering if he should have been more worried. What had the man come up with?

When Professor Chiadovini's wand was pointed at Aaron, the thirteen-year-old felt a sense of fear that he had not expected. An adult had never pointed a wand at him before, and even though the Astronomy professor had explained this was for a demonstration, Aaron still had no idea what was about to happen. Just a moment later, though, he felt unsteady on his feet only to realize that was because his feet were no longer on the ground.

"Ah!" Aaron immediately exclaimed at the sudden weightlessness as his arms wildly moved, trying to control his movement. He had incredible balance on a broom or on the ground, but right now there was nothing to... well, there was nothing but air. How was he supposed to control-

The professor suddenly grabbed him by the collar and started talking about how Aaron would play the moon and Sylvain would be the sun. This was their detention? To float around and pretend to be these celestial objects? Aaron wasn't sure if he should be relieved or freaked out. He didn't much like the idea of not being able to control his own body's momentum, even if the professor would be guiding him. Regardless, it was the assigned detention, so Aaron didn't protest.

Aaron didn't think he would be sick, but just in case he found a point in the classroom to focus on during each rotation. It was something he had learned from his friend Julie back in muggle school, when she did a show-and-tell on her ballet spins. But with ballet spins, you didn't spin slowly for ten minutes straight in mid-air, so it was a bit different. Still, Aaron tried to zone out during the demonstration, but the onslaught of questions from the students meant he was constantly listening. It was only when he heard Sylvain's muffled voice that he looked back at his partner-in-crime, pulled from looking at the same point in the room.

"Syl-" Aaron watched in horror as Sylvain held onto his mouth, clearly looking like he was about to puke. "Professor!" Aaron's voice held a genuine panic, unsure what to do while being suspended in mid-air. The image of what was about to happen was enough for Aaron to feel an unsettling in his own stomach, but he suppressed it. No way was he going to let his dinner back up.
