2021, Stage 3 Group F: Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff Finished

She had been doing really well at not getting hit. But luck and skill had run out, the gust of wind forcing her back in fear of losing her balance. Despite trickier balance, her accuracy seemed just fine, able to cast and hit the ravenclaw with a dancing spell. It was a trade, of sorts, with one spell being more dangerous than the other. That was to be expected against a fourth year- Lea was happy to still be standing in such a duel.

She gasped quietly after Lea had been hit by Del's wind jinx. The gusts of wind weren't exactly nice breezes, more like mini tornadoes. Frost had known how bad the battering gusts had felt, having had that spell cast on her many times before. Lea would hold up fine though, hopefully. The older Hufflepuff wasn't quite sure how she could without her teammate.

Following the hit to Lea, the Hufflepuff team retreated, playing the defensive. The first year broke her own streak of landing spells, not even bothering to cast and instead dedicating all her concentration to dodging. The badgers would not be burning today!

Meanwhile, Frost decided Lea was looking worse for wear, enough so to take the time to remedy that. With an incantation of Reparifors, the fourth year produced one of the most impressive healing spells Bridget had seen. When she was done, Lea appeared much less likely to succumb to another good hit or two.

With the Hufflepuffs regrouping, Delilah luckily wouldn't have to dodge between pirouettes and tip-toeing/stumbling around the platform. She managed to cast the stronger variant of Incendio, a spell she'd failed to cast earlier, but with Lea's concerted effort to not get hit, her aim wasn't quite enough. Interesting... it was near impossible to tell who was in the lead. Delilah was down a teammate, of course. All three had taken some damage. Still, no one looked on the verge of defeat.

The round was a little boring again, Delilah managed to miss Lea again, due to Lea's efforts to dodge it, and Frost healed Lea up, at least she wasn't dancing anymore, that saved her a lot of energy at least, if she had to keep dancing she would end up just giving up in the first place, her muscles were going to be sore tomorrow.

An extension was requested and granted. The new deadline is in about 34 hours, so please post and get in your actions by then!

Frost had been pleasantly surprised by how incredibly well her healing spell was. Perhaps all of the practice she had done was of use after all. After Lea had dodged the fire, which Hufflepuffs were well acquainted with, Frost had healed her back up from the hit she took earlier. These badgers would not be blazing this round.

While the wind made it harder to dodge, Lea would still put in the effort, forgoing her chance at casting a spell. It proved useful, able to move out of the way of the flames that leaped towards her. She was already feeling bad enough without being a burning Hufflepuff. Some of that pain would alleviate with Frost's spell, the first year glancing over with a quick, "thank you!" Defensive had paid off, it seemed.

These two rounds were quite the rollercoast for Frost. From one of her best casts of the duel straight into the worst, her attempt at a Knockback Jinx built up all wrong and backfired in her face. Bridget winced as the blue light made impact--there was never any dodging a spell that emerged from the wrong end of you wand. Backfires were no fun, and she would know.

No one could say the round wasn't eventful, in any case. While Frost's cast failed, Lea's Flipendo flew perfectly across the stage, pushing Delilah back a step and proving, once again, the threat she posed. First years were naturally at a disadvantage to older students, but underestimating Lea would be a mistake.

Unfortunately, for all her skill, it looked like the young Hufflepuff did have a weakness. As the previous bout of wind faded, Delilah replaced it with a new one, continuing to do quite well on her own. Lea, again, looked battered, and this was after just two solid hits and healing from Frost. It seemed the badger wasn't the sturdiest; regardless, she was pulling her weight, and if she could get her dodging game back on, she could make it.
