Things in duels always happened in quick succession, and this round was an example of that. Willow's spell missed Galton, but luckily Kazuo had her back and hit him hard. But that didn't save her from getting hit with a Knockback Jinx herself. "Agh!" While she didn't get knocked down, it still hurt to resist the spell from hurling her across a room. As she tried to recover, everything went dark as a blindfold wrapped around her head tightly. "Double agh!"

This round would pan out to be brutal for the Hufflepuffs as they both reached up to remove their blindfolds as swiftly as they could. The black cloths would pose no real threat to them and would be cast aside just in time to see what did.

Meenuah was proving to be a mighty witch as she cast her Flipendo at Willow. The electric blue light would not be denied as it struck the Hufflepuff hard in the chest, pulling her feet off the ground. And to add insult to injury, Galton sent just as powerful of a Flipendo, managing to catch Willow in the shoulder, propelling the girl’s body back slightly farther. If it had not been for Willow already having been air-born, Galton’s attack certainly would have been more devastating. Willow was still conscious and still in the arena bounds, if only barely, but it probably felt like she had just been run over by a truck.

Kazuo would not be spared this round either as Galton’s flawlessly cast Flipendo split, sending just as powerful a bolt in his direction. Unfortunately, the boy would not be able to dodge it in time as it collided with his body lifting his feet off the ground and sending him backward. While he would not land as far back as his partner, they were down but not yet defeated.

Spectator Thread: Afternoon Slot, Group E: Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff

It was time to put that terrible tool to use. Three more flashes supplied by flipendos flew this round, this time two where Galton's own. And the other was Meenauh's. It was nice not to be the target of some magic for a moment. As their opponents regained their sight they went flying. Every single one of those dastardly spells hit their mark. And beyond that, it had to be the most perfect casts the duo, Might and Glory, had ever slung.

Time to press on, he was still rattled, body aching, but he wasn't out yet. The smell of candy had diminished, best to keep it that way.

Oh no no no. That was not ok. That was very not okay.

As he and Willow had struggled to quickly remove their blindfolds, somehow Galton managed to hit them both with a perfect Knockback jinx. Unable to see it coming, he could hardly dodge and the spell, true to its name, sent him sprawling. He let out a wheeze at the force, staring up at the ceiling as he tried to catch his breath.

"Good one," he complimented Galton a bit breathlessly. Maybe one wasn't supposed to praise their opponents but it was honestly an amazing cast and Kazuo wanted to give credit where it was due. "Willow, are you okay?"

It would seem as if Meenuah and Galton had packed a particularly devastating punch to the Hufflepuff’s as Kazuo and Willow seemed unable to regain their footing. While they lay prone, Meenuah and Galton unleashed another round of knockback jinxes.

Kazuo would find himself spared; Willow would not be so lucky. An effort was made to roll away, but it was futile as both spells slammed into her body. A body that was now no longer moving besides faint breathing.

The moderator raised their hand and stepped forward, calling for the duel to be stopped. They made their way over to Willow and knelt down to check on her before waving in the medical team. Once Willow’s body was secured and removed from the stage, the moderator stood back up and allowed the duellists to start once more as they retook their place.

He had meant to stand up immediately. He really had. But his chest hurt. It was hard to breath. It seemed Willow had been having trouble getting up too. At least he wasn’t alone in that. Unfortunately, their opponents took full advantage of their prone state to hit Willow hard again, knocking her out. Now he was alone, prone, facing two older students. Things were not looking nearly so good for him anymore. In fact, looking at it logically, it was unlikely that he could win now but he wasn’t going to give up. He would continue to fight to the end.

It was a strait forward round. They needed to press their advantage now, Galton's body was hurting too bad to want to stay in this any longer than it had to. It seemed his partner and him had the same idea.

After shooting their spells and seeing the effects he turned to answer his partner. "Ahhh... thought yo- normally packed more punch" His words trailed as he regained some breath in the moment of calm they had before they needed to proceed.
