Afternoon
Dee entered the relative quiet of the library with a small sigh, pleased to notice that even with the increased number of students around the school, this place was still a sanctuary of peace. She was tired and short on patience, having slept late the night before.

It wasn't that she didn't like meeting new people - Dee was extroverted to a fault, always drawn to crowds, usually found in the middle of things. She was the type to start a conversation with anyone about anything, whether they wanted to or not.

Still, with the students from the other schools around for the past few days, it was hard to find a quiet place, and whether she liked or not, she had to study. If she had now entered the library only to find it also overrun with foreign students, she might have had to flee to her dormitory. Or yell at someone. She was running out of patience, fast.

But no, although there were a couple unfamiliar faces around, the atmosphere was still the same as usual. Quiet, but not silent - feet shuffling, pages turning. Quills scratching over parchment, a few quiet conversations. And beyond that, the muffled sound that was always brought by the presence of other people, that sense of not alone. Which was the reason Dee preferred studying in the library to her dorm, honestly, although the Ravenclaw common room had access to almost all books that the library did, so she didn't actually need the resources. She didn't like being alone.

Approaching a mostly empty table, she dropped her bag on the floor and her books on the table. She had the choice between doing reading for Transfiguration and writing an essay for Astronomy, and neither was particularly inspiring her. What would have been inspiring to her was the sun shining outside the castle, and it drew a wistful glance towards the window, before she forced her attention back onto the books.

Transfiguration... Astronomy... Transfiguration.

After another moment of staring at her choices, Dee let her head drop onto them with a muffled thud. Perhaps she could convince the knowledge to just... sublimate up into her brain? Please?
