Wesley began to head down to the Great Lake; he hadn't visited the lake much yet. The air was damp and cold. The wind was blowing lightly and it made his curly hair drift about. He had a yellow and red knitted scarf around his neck for this so-called House Pride many people had told him about. Wes stepped over to a broad oak tree and settled down, leading against it.

He had nothing to do other than watch the calm ripples dancing on the water. The wind kept pushing the ripples to dance some more. It whistled through the air as well as pushed the water. Above Wes, a deep, dark, gloomy cloud began to bundle up, reaching back to the castle. Just to his luck, a branch was directly above Wes to seemingly protect him from the oncoming rain.

The rain began with small drips plopping on the ground every now and then to strong, harsh droplets plummeting down. Wesley couldn't help but enjoy the rain smashing into the lake water and onto the ground and everything underneath it. He admired it out his window back at his home in Surrey; and anything he did at home that occurred here made Wes feel a bit more homesick.

Alina couldn’t help skipping in the faint droplets of rain that fell from the sky. Since she and many other first year ago had arrived, it rained. And Alina loved every single moment of it. Sure, she wore the usual hogwarts jacket charmed to prevent the rain from soaking in, and had a faintly coloured rainbow coloured umbrella over her hair, but that didn’t stop the happiness that flowed within her. She loved the rain, to her it was beautiful, untamed music and she could listen for hours. There was also a scent in the air she couldn’t place but had loved to pieces.

Alina hummed to herself softly, while she skipped down the nearly flooding path down to the lake. Her favorite lake. Whether it was in the middle of sunshine or rain , this lake had always been beautiful to her! She continued humming and decided to kick off her shoes and socks to soak her feet in the extremely cold Great Lake water. She turned, grinning to come eye to eye with a boy who was huddled underneath a great large tree to protect him from the rain. Alina laughed while calling out: “You look a tad bit wet. Care to share my umbrella?” Her voice rang out in the empty area. “Promise I won’t bite,” she added for good measure before holding out her multicoloured rainbow umbrella to the boy.

I lied. This was too interesting not to join in!

Wesley heard a voice behind him, which made him freeze. He turned his head in the direction to where he had heard it. A girl holding an umbrella stood there, underneath it with a smile. She had asked him whether he cared to share it at all. Wesley shook his head in reply. "Oh - um - no thank you. I'm okay under here," he replied over the heavy rain dripping down; the droplets were impacting the umbrella so hard that it seemed it could tear the fabric. If his hair were to make any contact with the rain, though, it would droop down and feel heavy; and the curls would look quite unattractive.

He looked up at the broad branch right above him and internally smiled. Not being in the rain often made him feel warm and happy, no matter where he was; whereas being in the rain changed his mood to feeling very grouchy and sour. This proved that just sitting under a big branch made him feel happy, which was kind of unusual in his opinion. Wes looked back at the girl - for some reason, she didn't seem to be gone. Usually, because of his personality and approach, people would walk away thinking he was a weirdo.

I don't want to make you feel stupid or anything - especially since I felt embarrassed yesterday about something I did on this site - but what you complimented Wes about over owl post (his sexual orientation) is not correct. Wes is not homosexual, you must've misread it; his older brother is homosexual. I just wanted to clear everything up and hope we are all good c:

Her eyebrows raised in surprise when the boy declined her offer. Sure, it was raining pretty hard and she was almost certain that her umbrella was going to collapse, but it still had to be better than all the rain that was slipping through the branches and leaves of the tree. She shrugged, a smile still on her face. "You must really love the rain then," she commented, shifting the umbrella back over her head and stretching out her hand to catch the droplets in her palm. The water was cold and left her hand soaking in a matter of seconds. But she found that she liked the way it felt against her skin.

"I do too, actually. The sounds are just so calming and soothing. Plus the smell....it just kinda smells like home." She turned back to look at the lake. "If you listen hard enough, you can hear the water making a melody when it hits the lake." She hummed to herself softly, itching to get her feet wet and dance in the shallow of the lake, before she decided that she didn't appreciate an audience and instead walked closer to the boy. "Did you mean to come out here, or did you get trapped by the rainfall? Honestly, my dorm mates thought I was mental for wanting to come out in the rain. Can't help it," She shrugged before holding out a hand to the boy. "I'm Alina, by the way. You are?"

Lmao, my BAD! I'm so sorry, that's super embarrassing. I did read it wrong, but thanks for correcting me! That would have been super awks later on.

Wes shook his head in reply to Alina’s question about meaning to come out in the rain. ”No - it all just happened after I came out of the castle,” He simply said, glaring out at the other end of the lake. He felt the energy of having to interact with the girl without looking; he just felt a tingle in his shoulder, which, when he turned his head, was where the girl had held out her hand for a handshake. Wes raised up his hand limply and latched onto Alina’s hand, feeling like a clammy leech. His hands were beginning to get sweaty, despite he bitter temperature.

Not wanting to return the clammy-yuck, he quickly shook her hand and pulled away, turning to the lake. ”Wesley Hart,” Wes replied in a proud, confident voice (but on the inside he was shrivelling up at the thought of having to talk with this person; she seemed nice but any form of socialising was terrifying for him - especially with a girl).

The silence between the two acquaintances was a good chance for Wesley to do something; as Alina had said, the water on the lake didn’t just make it ripple about but it also plays a peaceful tune. Wes smiled softly at the chime-like drips of water hitting water. Without the smile leaving his face, or turning to Alina, he spoke, ”in a way, the rain gives me comfort. I hate being caught in it - because it ruins my hair - but I love watching and listening to it. Back home I would stay in my room whenever it rained and would just stare out the window, like I was in some sort of Rain Trance. My cat, Plaid, often comes in my room to sleep because it’s most definitely the quietest room in the house. She likes the rain. And it seems like my birds do too - they never squawk and chirp at all (especially when it’s raining) and that makes me wonder if they’ve forgotten how to.” Wesley squinted his eyes as if looking at someone he had a distaste for, not realising how much he had just rambled on.

Wesley Hart,” The boy replied, and Alina smiled softly at him. His hand had felt warm and full of life on hers and she couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled out. She admired the way his brown hair curled, and she knew that if even a strand of that came in contact with the rain, it would poof out to double it's original size. Alina wondered what was better, poofy head or looking like a drowned dog (like she would). She twirled the rainbow umbrella absently while listening to the beautiful sounds the rain made.

When the boy spoke again, it fully captivated Alina. "You have a cat? I love cats. One day I want to own twelve and name them after Greek Goddess and Gods." In her mind she pictured twelve very different and rambunctious cats running around a small house. What a perfect life. "I always wondered if birds like rain. I mean, they have no choice but to ride out weather. Do they cold in the winter? Or hot in the summer? I feel bad for them." She murmured, kicking at a small puddle that was starting to form around her from the run-off of the umbrella.

"But I agree. Rain comforts me too. Just the sound and the smell and the movement," Alina shrugged. "I feel like it just kinda washes away all the bad things and leaves the good."

Sorry dude. I'm in the middle of exams right now so I'm a bit spotty on my rp replies. I thought I messaged you to tell you? Sorry!
