Trial by Fear
Action: private
The fourth years plans might have been just a tad bit flawed as he had to notice as soon as the spell he had cast would backfire on himself, but he was certain if his nerves had not failed him that he certainly would have been able to claim a second token as well. But as it was now, the fourth year was forced to swing his arms and kick his legs out like a madman in the Three Broomsticks, with their favorite band playing. Alan couldn't even do that much as he found casting to be much more difficult than it had been to him in the first place and felt his mind strain as he forced himself to focus enough to launch a size reducing spell towards the table that had been supposed to dance. He was sure that he might have come up with a better plan if he had more time to think or simply was in control of his own limbs but this was not the case. Though the Gryffindor really had no reason to complain as he had succeeded and what more could he wish for than to succeed at the task he had been given. He would be lying if he said that he wasn't a bit smug at the fact that he had gotten at least one token unlike some of the other participants and it gave him the courage to believe that even under a stressful situation he would manage just fine.
He would then listen to Thomas as he went on to explain the next trial, or game as Alan called it inwardly and he was a little happy to know that he was in a team with Dee as well as Pierre, one of which he would consider his friend whereas the other was a kind housemate that was dear to Alan due to some shared memories in the Quidditch club. The next game sounded simple enough, they just had to get the other team to either drop their torches or to somehow extinguish their fires and Alan was kind of excited to watch that showdown unfold. He had high hopes in his team as they went on.

Trial by Fear
Alexander would frown as his initial plan did not work, which was a bit off-putting. But in the end, his plan B seemed to be sufficient at least. After grabbing his token he looked to Aida, who had a huge grin on her face. A grin that was somewhat infectious as Alexander felt a smile growing on his own features as well. Then, as Aida went up to her podium he gave her a thumbs up. Before watching as Aida easily dealt with the fire situation by simply casting finite on it.Interacts with: @Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood
Interesting, very interesting.
So when she got back down he would give her a smile and two thumbs up whilst saying. "Good job, I knew you could do it."
Then, what felt like immediately after he could congratulate her the illustrious Thomas Lestrange appeared once more. Introducing the next challenge, apparently a team challenge in which they had to extinguish the fires on different torches. Which was an interesting challenge, since it was not based on individual achievement. His smile got a little wider when he heard that he would be in the same team as Aida.
He would already have to confront her in a future duel and to do so again was certainly not something he enjoyed. Thus after the other Slytherin had finished his instructions he walked towards the rest of his new team. Amongst which was the illustrious @Xailah Alptraum, the Gryffindor prefect. He did not know her exact skillset but as a 4th year she would probably be of great aid. Second was another Gryffindor, @Katrina Walker, a red-haired Gryffindor who seemed quite confident. And if he had to guess either a 3rd or 4th year. Who had used a unique but effective strategy in the last round. One of just pushing the table away.
Another interesting addition to their group was @Nicholas McCowan. Though he was probably quite determined he hadn't shown much skill as of yet. He had tried to go for a flipendo and extinguo but both spells had failed. That could just be bad luck, but he would have to see how he would do during this challenge.
Then there was last but not least @Rose Moon, another Gryffindor (which made sense considering the sheer quantity of them in this challenge) and one who had gotten their token as well last round. She had tried the same tactic as Nicholas but had succeeded where he had not. Which was interesting.
Now, as he stood amongst this illustrious company. Alexander wondered if at the end of this challenge they would be one token closer to victory, or if they would be leaving this trial empty-handed.

Trial by Fear

The Twelve

For the trial participants that offered a retort to Thomas’ petty digs during the fire trial, they would only be met with a smug grin as he carried on with his assigned tasks. His mishap with the table placed him in no man’s land, an easy target if he continued to antagonize. After all, his goal to unsettle was complete for the intended, excluding Miss Alptraum. Who took his comments in stride, instructing the boy to wave to Lear’s likeliest successor. He would do no such thing.
Following the small window each team received to form a gameplan, they would be ushered into the designated playing area. The boundaries of this space were marked by what appeared to be charcoal paint on the grass surface. Between the two teams was a dividing line of the same making to separate the teams. The aforementioned pressure plates were spread out throughout the surface, to guarantee at least one of the participants would trigger a peculiar reaction. It was essential that at least one of these plates were triggered.
For the second team, Miss Prince initiated the discussion with a ruthless approach. “Stomping the other team into the ground”, a harsh statement that set the tone. Dealla, at times a victim of her own competitive spirit, issued a callout to Henry Knight. A risky move, as this team game was only temporary, there would be only a single victor. And Mr.Knight’s lack of a token made him all the more dangerous. Though Dealla was indifferent to the trouble her digs could provide. She was not just here, She was here to win.
Henry used this break in the action to deploy skepticism for the purpose of the trial and the pair that led the event. A positive habit, danger has shown to lurk in the castle’s dustiest corners, and we would be wise to approach every day with an open mind. “Things are not always what they seem”. The third participant assigned to team two, Pierre, underwent a momentary internal debate in his path to the team’s rendezvous. A silent acknowledgement that he could have done more to help Marion that day. An admirable acknowledgement, but a topic swiftly shifted from as he reached his team. Offering a humorful approach where they find and exploit the pressure plate. If anything, easing the tension his other teammates created. Showing his value went far beyond his magical aptitude.
Alan and Elena were next to join, disinterested in letting the negative ideals of their teammates affect their generic sense to just...win the trial. But that’s okay, the final of team two’s band would arrive with enough to say for both of them. Proposing the pressure plate served as an airbag that would fling the pepper stepper helplessly into the air. Please be right. Scarlett wasn’t finished, identifying Henry as an imminent threat to her team’s success. Leaving the boy with a pizzazing threat as she twirled the blackthorn wand like a circus performer.
Team Two gathered, contrasting their opponents with a silent approach. Hopefully Nicholas’ “hey” had an alternative meaning, a codeword to initiate a preconceived telepathic gameplan? If not, the team appeared content in trusting one another to make the right decision. After all, extinguishing a torch was a rather straightforward task, wasn’t it?
After proper placement was confirmed, Kit gave a hand motion to initiate the toll of a bell, beginning the action for this mini-game.
Sometimes keeping things simple is the best approach. Team one did not get cute, the majority deploying the extinguishing charm in an straightforward effort. Team two’s creativity was evident, and surely a point of appreciation from those looking for a show. Though ultimately they were undone by misfortune, two of their players fell victim to the pressure plate’s harsh impact.Rolling Results

Plate function: A geyser of a thick, warm, dark-red substance would sprout from where these three stepped, effectively extinguishing their torch and covering them in… was it blood?
Not only did these plates extinguish the torch of the person to step, but in these three separate locations a miniature geyser of a dark-red substance would sprout from the tampered grass, leaving not only Aida, Alan and Pierre to be drenched, but all 12 participants would get a sprinkle of this substance on their skin, and staining their clothing. Mixing in with the rain and occasional gusts of wind that the storms provided. It would feel sticky to the touch with a metallic scent.
Kit clasped his hands together with a sharp exhale, wielding his wand and pointing it overhead in the storm's direction. “Finite Incantatem.” After allowing the storm effects to pass on, he’d then utter “Sonorus” so the audience and spectators could follow along with the conclusion. “Well I was hoping to avoid a bloodbath, but I admire your passion.” He spoke with his trademark wide grin, was this confirmation?
“Well done all of you, but there can be only one winner. Let us once again acknowledge the strong efforts of our participants!” Kit paused, allowing a moment for the audience’s roars and team one to bask in their success if desired. “Our first team may locate Thomas Lestrange by the tent to receive your additional token.” Kit pointed to a tent where Thomas stood, with two shadowy figures emerging from the tent’s opening.
“I ask that all of our participants take this time to approach our...volunteers, they will provide you with towels to clean yourselves. You may return your torches to the metallic holsters at the tent’s side. We have no further use for them.”
Thomas remained on standby, finding the six participants of team one and distributing tokens to each of them. Behind him, the aforementioned volunteers would emerge. A boy and a girl in their respective house robes. There was a commonality between this pair, the color of their skin and eyes, and the sharpness of their teeth. They approached the participants with towels in hand, a gentle tinkling sound with each step they took.

Trial by Fear
Howard had taken his seat in the tent while the first part of the trials went underway. He often peaked through the flap in the tents entryway to keep an eye the progression of things. What was Hogwarts without some fire? Fortunately the players would make it through the first trial unscathed. However, just as the second game concluded there would be a dramatic change to the scenery. As pressure plates were triggered a vast amount of substance would be blasted into the air. The vibrant color, the unmistakable sweet and metallic scent, the very thing that called to him like no other. It threatened to overwhelm him as his body began to respond.
Howard emerged from the tent when Caretaker Kit gave him his cue. His Hufflepuff robes would mark his house, but it would be his striking physical features that would give away his identity. The hood of his school robes was drawn overhead, leaving crimson red eyes to peer out just below end of the fabric as they made contact with each of the players. Over one forearm was draped a pile of cloth towels, held firmly in place by the grip of his hand. The flesh of his appendage was pale, almost a sickly shade of grey and each of his fingers ended with thick, elongated, discolored nails. Howard’s lips would part only to reveal the slow decent of fangs from the empty recesses in his gum line. The very area around him would almost appear to darken as an unsettling aura seeped from him like a noxious gas. His visage clearly defined what he was. A creature of the night, the walking undead, a predator, a monster, but within those blood red eyes would be the spark that only those of the living could possess. Howard was a young man of two natures, two existences within one body. Which would dominate his life came down to control…assuming he could.
If the players approached, Howard would use his free hand to pull his hood back. They might notice a slight flex in his facial muscles as his fangs retracted back into their resting places. The immediate area around might appear just a tad lighter as the dark aura dissipated. Nostrils would flare as he took in their scent and that of the sweet substance they were covered in. He would offer nothing in the way of communication besides steadfast eye contact. His left arm raising ever so slightly to present the cloth for the taking.

There had been a couple different ideas - Dee had grinned at Scarlett's enthusiasm, snorted at Piérre's ideas (he hadn't been serious... right...?) - but finally, they had all agreed on a course of action. Their plan was good. If everyone did their part, it should work. After all, you could hardly miss while summoning a storm.
Henry, after he had finally deigned to join their team instead of clinging to the other team's apron strings, decided to throw more empty threats at her, and received a flat stare in return. "That might worry me if I had any faith in your ability to aim," she replied. Thankfully, for their plan, he wouldn't have to. She wondered if he actually thought he was funny.
They were given the signal to start, but Dee waited, for just a moment, before she started to cast. They didn't want to accidentally extinguish one of their own torches, after all, so Scarlett and Henry had to go first. She'd been more focused on her team, her spell, than dodging - as long as their spells succeeded, and not all of her team's torches got extinguished, this should result in a victory - and noticed too late the spell coming her way, moving too slow, and a moment later, the fire that had danced on her torch was gone. With a quiet curse, she dropped it to the ground. No point in keeping it, was there?
Piérre had the quickest reflexes of their group, casting smoke at the other team, and then Henry and Scarlett produced the umbrellas that were Dee's signal. Pointing her wand overhead, she summoned rain, summoned thunder, and rain came, drops falling, first a few, then more, faster. It wasn't all her doing, there was Elena somewhere near, doing the same, but still, the fact that they were changing the weather like it was nothing came with a rush of power that was almost exhilarating.
And yet, it wasn't enough. It might have been, had Alan been successful in his cast, and usually, Dee might have blamed him for his failure. Honestly, he was a fourth year, the spell shouldn't have given him any trouble, right? Dee had succeeded easily, Elena had managed, too. But, well, there were some extenuating circumstances.
It took a moment to register, with Dee focused on her own spell like she had been, droplets of rain mixing with red, but a geyser of red fluid at the edges of her vision was hard to ignore, and Dee flinched away on instinct, her wand sinking, her eyes finding the unlucky creatures who had triggered the pressure plates. And gaped.
For a moment, she stood frozen, staring blankly at the three figures covered in blood. Was it blood? It was red, and thick. Perhaps it was ketchup. Warm ketchup. Probably not. She blinked, turning her eyes from Alan to one of the sprinkles on her hand, raising it up to look at it more closely. Still no clue. It was red. Smelled a little metallic. Might be blood. There were stains on her clothing as well, likely on her face and in her hair.
It was probably due to her dazed state that her next action was to stick out her tongue and lick the drop of red off her hand in a sort of detached fascination, a final test to see if it was, indeed, blood.
But where Dee had been covered in a spray of it, drops and smears on her, Aida, Alan, and Piérre had gotten it much worse. Relief washed through Dee like a wave that she wasn't one of them. She wasn't sure she could have done anything but scream in their place.
Mr Paine had moved on while Dee had still been busy catching up to the events, had ended their storm, was already talking. Huh. Apparently they had lost, but Dee was still too stunned to care.
"Are you serious?" she asked out loud at the instructions, disbelief plain in her voice, her eyes wandering from the caretaker to Thomas Lestrange to the 'volunteer', emerging from the tent. "Towels? You bathe people in..." she gestured at Alan a little helplessly, "and then provide towels? That's the best you can do? Don't you think that's a little sick?"
Anger gradually replacing her astonishment, she turned around to stomp towards the figure coming towards them, more focused on the promised towels than on the person carrying them. It was only when she came closer that she registered details, one by one. Something about him that had the hair on her arms standing up, catching her attention. A yellow crest on his robes, Hufflepuff. Then his other features - pale skin, claws - until her eyes finally wandered up to his face when she was just a few steps away, meeting red eyes.
She stopped walking. Blinked. Then scrunched up her face, ignoring the urge to step backwards instead. "Well," she said dryly. "If this is blood, I hope they warned you. Must be worse for you than for us."
Shaking her head, still angry at whoever had come up with this, and almost more so at those that had okayed it, Dee stepped forward to take a towel. A towel, against blood that was drying on skin, smeared in hair and clothes. Ridiculous.
Action | Licking unknown substances of her skin because obviously she's smart like that. Snapping at people.

"Perhaps a rematch after this trial than Dealla?" Henry replied calmly referring to the second stage duels where they were aginest each other.
Nevertheless the duels were in the past and this was the present, the young teen was on board with their set strategy and plan but had his doubts about it. Well the wind jinx and extinguishing charms could have been excellent resources, it was also the two most riskiest in a situation where you don't know what could exactly happen.
Henry took his place and heard the start signal, his wand at the ready but he wait for Piérre smoke before he would cast a umbrella over his, Dealla's, and Piérre's torches which is when he realized that the only one still lit out of the three was Piérre's. The young teen must haven't been paying attention to the other team to notice they extinguished two of their touches already.
Henry would drop his torch, seeing no use for it now and keep the umbrella over Piérre as he watched the rest of their plan go into motion.
Henry watched the scene unfold and noticed three from each team had torches extinguished. If their summoned rain could only extinguish Katrina's, Nicholas, and Xailah's then they could win however it was at that moment that Henry would forget about the trial entirely.
A smile would slowly spread over his face as he thought they might have won when drops of blood hit the side of his face that was closer to Piérre.
Suddenly the smile was gone and the noise around faded away as the young teen turned and saw a sight.
Alan and Piérre covered in a dark red substance that resembled blood.
Henry felt his blood freeze and breathing slow down as the noises around him faded away and blackness surrounded him.
Any light or familiar face was gone. And all the young teen could see was darkness, empty darkness.
It was a strange feeling peering into silence darkness. Until that was he wasn't alone but another was there with him.
A large wolf type creature stood in front of him. A werewolf with the same red substance covering his team mates, cover a side of it's face.
Henry felt like running but was frozen as he watched the werewolf state back at him. It took merely a few seconds for the teen to realize that the wolf staring at him was him, it was him in werewolf form, it was the monster inside him.
The scene only had a few seconds till his senses pulled him back and he was thrown back into the situation. Noise surrounded him from all around, his breathing quicken as he lowered his wand to his side.
The caretaker was talking but the young teen wasn't paying attention. He couldn't. Blood never affected Henry before except it wasn't just the blood, it was the idea if creating a pressure plate that pulled blood over students. It was the whole Trial as a whole that bothered him. The idea behind it and the reason why the twelve of them were actually there.
Henry heard Dealla snap at the caretaker and the caretaker's voice but he didn't response. Even if he did want to yell. Even if he did want to ask what was the purpose of all of this. He didn't. He stayed quiet for a moment.
Until he would find his voice and he would ask Alan and Piérre, "Are you two alright?" before he would look over at Scarlett and Elena and nod to them both making sure they were okay as well before walking off.
Henry would nod toward Nicholas with a small smile, silently asking if he was okay almost. The young teen would continue to Katrina and Rose where he would ask" are you two alright?"
The red substance spot still on his cheek as he pulled his sleeve over it to wipe it off. Not daring to take a towel that the caretaker offer them.
The young teen wild stand by the two girls if he could burn keep his suspicious and thoughts to himself this time.
Something didn't feel right to him. Why were they here? What was the purpose of this trial? What was the purpose of pouring blood over students? Questions circled around Henry's mind.
Hogwarts is suppose to be a school. A school where we learn about different subjects and trained so when we graduate, were prepare for life outside of school.
School isn't suppose to be a place where we have to fight for our lives or face dangerous events or monsters or have to go to sleep worrying that something bad is about to happen.
School shouldn't be a place where we have to fight or protect each other from dangers. It shouldn't be the place where we have to constantly look over our shoulder or give us injuries or send us to the hospital wing or give us trauma or panic.
We shouldn't be afraid to come here. We shouldn't have to worry or question about trusting the staff.
Hogwarts was suppose to be a safe place. Father, Mum, Arthur they all spoke about how fun Hogwarts was when they were here. They all talked about passing examinations and hanging out with friends and getting detentions and pranking their dorm mates and generally having a good time.
None of them had to run from danger or be invited for a strange trial that isn't preparing us for life or school. It's suspicious and hiding something from us I know it.
Why can't I have a normal hogwarts experience though. Why can't I just hang out with friends, practice with the dueling team, study and take classes, and go through my next few years normally. Why can't I have a normal time at school. Why can't Hogwarts be like my second home. Why couldn't I be born in another time.
Henry found himself suspicious of the Trial and no longer cared about winning since the red substances that was poured over three students moments ago.
He wanted to leave, be didn't. The young teen couldn't leave his friends there knowing he didn't do anything to help them if something went sideways so instead the teen thought about using his senses to help him find out what was really going on.
Henry figured the caretaker and slytherin prefect won't tell them anything or answer their questions so instead the young werewolf decided to take matters into his own hands and try to find some answers or more questions. Finding any scents around was one way to help and he figured it was better than smelling the red substance since Dealla seemed to be already trying it...
He would walk closer to the tents and aim his eyes toward the ground as he breathed in, he was smelling the ares around him seeing if he could smell anything around them.

Trial by Fear
The most obvious action was often the most effective, that seemed to be his team's approach to the trial. Creative ideas were thrown out, briefly, but it seemed that the simple approach of targeting the opposing team one-a-piece with charms aimed at seeing their torches extinguished won the day. Xailah would attempt to summon a storm, a small bout of creativity in an otherwise utilitarian approach. And, it seemed, that the more straightforward the plan, the greater the success. Nicholas could not help but feel at least somewhat apprehensive when he saw their opponents bringing forward rainstorms of their own, this time coupled with the summoning of umbrellas designed to keep their own torches safe from the downpour. The first year wasn't even aware that was a spell and for the umpteenth time that night he felt drastically underprepared and outmatched.
Still, there was work to be done, consider it practice for his soon to be debut on the dueling team. The actual contest seemed to pass quickly, a blur of motion and of action. For his own part Nicholas aimed his extinguo at Henry, the second year had been welcoming and polite, but there was no room for kindness in the heat of competition. Elation poured through the Gryffindor's body as his spell struck true, the flame going out. It seemed there would be no repeat of his earlier failed attempt at casting the charm.
Grinning from ear to ear, Nicholas shot an eye toward the clouds that had formed overhead, yet his torch burned brightly. It seemed that his earlier failures had not been foreshadowing of things to come, he was one of the few with a torch that remained lit. Now, provided that the rest of the team got off their spells, they may be able to snatch a victory.
The geysers of blood distracted him from such thoughts. Multiple geysers. The broad smile that covered his face immediately disappeared as three of his fellow students found themselves covered in the substance. Surely it wasn't really blood? The thought of what the red liquid could possibly be distracted Nicholas to such a degree that he didn't even realise when some of it splashed upon his own person. He froze, as if in shock. What kind of school sanctioned event was this? Fear and horror in equal measure encroached upon him and distracted him from the ongoing trial.
It was only the voice of the caretaker that brought him back to reality and the scene at present. His eyes quickly turned to look at the man, before examining the array of torches laid before him, most extinguished, yet some still burned bright. Nicholas's was one of them, to his astonishment. They had won. The joy of victory banished all worries that had arisen due to pressure plates and their peculiar liquid, and whereas his thoughts had earlier been those of confusion and dread, they now stood solid in personal pride. Those musings, however, remained equally strong, and he still failed to realise that he too was splattered with the red substance. The metallic scent of the liquid that found itself on his clothes and skin masked by the much more pungent aromas wafting from those upperclassmen who had been covered in it. Perhaps it was due to some form of misfortune that he failed to understand the extent to which head been covered, for most of the liquid had landed in his hair, the brown mop now joined by an equal mix of water and the reddish-brown splatter.
But, it seemed that there was certainly sympathy to be found for those unlucky few who had fallen prey to the traps, and even some for the students who had caught some of the splash back, Nicholas wholly unaware that he was a part of the latter category. The Ravenclaw Prefect appeared livid, more concerned about the blood than she was about the fact her team lost. For, Nicholas, it was the exact opposite. He was overjoyed at not only his team's victory, but his own performance in achieving that victory. Those feelings overshadowed the earlier disgust.
His smile returned even broader, and it was that glee that he showed Henry when the boy nodded at him, a small smile upon the teenager's face. It was clear that Nicholas was more than okay, for the first time that night, he seemed to be enjoying himself. And that same energy carried as he collected his token, his first token, from the Slytherin prefect. He hadn't failed completely, and he now had proof that he could hold his own, at least to some degree.
"Thanks," The single word left his mouth directed at LeStrange as he handed out the small coin-like object.
He didn't speak further as he turned away from the older boy, slotting the token into his torch as he did so. With its red flame still alit, he returned the torch to its holster, the still burning top serving as a visual representation of his ego.
With that done, Nicholas finally turned his gaze toward the two volunteers and found himself instantly blanching. The very aura that emanated off of them was oppressive, dark and foreboding. He had zero desire to speak with them, he'd never met a vampire, but those two seemed the closest thing to one that he'd ever seen. For an entirely different reason, now, Nicholas found himself grateful that he hadn't been one of the unlucky few who had been doused. Whether or not it was blood that had covered the pitch, he had no desire to speak to either of the dark figures, be they volunteers or not, for doing so would almost instantly put a damper on his newfound enthusiasm.
Instead he lulled around the tent as he was, his darkened mood from earlier entirely replaced by one that appeared near the opposite. It seemed that adrenaline and some semblance of victory had done wonders for the moody boy. Fear and blood aside, competition was where Nicholas found he thrived the best. Thrived mentally that was, his own performance aside, there was something about setting himself up against others, and pummeling through in search of glory that appealed to him greatly.

Trial by Fear
Aida had less revulsion towards dirt and gore compared to others who hadn’t grown up as a hunter and rancher in the backwoods of Scotland. Yet, she did enjoy being clean when there wasn’t a reason to be otherwise. As for the substance, she had no wish to be covered in it. Looking over at Alexander and then Dealla, Aida laughed a little and nonchalantly began a little spellcasting on herself: scourgify. Though it might have some negative consequence, Aida’s mood was simply not concerned enough to dive deeply into thought about why she should go about any other action. She could investigate it later on through other things than herself that had gotten coated.
She noticed, of course, Howard White’s entrance. Anything not completely human almost always captured Aida’s attention. Yet, unlike most that weren’t fully human, Aida was not soothed by his presence. If anything there was something unsettling about him, and it wasn’t just that he was clearly a Dhampir. Instead of being interested, the animal feeling in Aida’s gut told her to stay away. She turned back to Alexander and tilted her head, wanting to say something but not quite finding the words. Somehow he had that effect on her a lot lately.

Trial by Fear
Nico had been abit hesitant and nervous. But she felt more certain with Howard beside her. A fellow ... different person. The same different she was. Howard was quick to get up to the scene but the redhead needed a moment. Taking in a deep breath, she carefully got up from her seat in Kits tent and walked up, next to Howard. Just like him, she had been wearing a hood over her head, trying to keep to the shadows until their time to 'shine' had arrived.
She hadn't tried to dress up too much as they were asked to wear their House robes, Slytherin in her case, but that didn't stop her. Her long strawberry red hair had some small braids here and there, almost blending in, but still noticable. Her signature red eyeliner accentuating her ice blue hues as they peeked from underneath the fabrics rim. With every bit of light that hit her eyes, they'd look similar to the moon. An almost ghostly like shimmer that mixed with the ice of her gaze. Her foundation was still present, making her look like a porcelain doll. Yet over the months she had been taking it down a notch. Her thin, corpse like skin didn't hide away the veins that usually laid hidden.
In her pale hands with slightly longer nails that had a certain creepy look to them, Nico held some towels. She couldn't help put take a small wiff of it and notice that they had a gentle smell to them. Surely students would like to be no longer covered in what dhampirs would call their life force. Nico had adjusted quite well to the - what others might call - stench. But every so often, being faced with such a huge amount of it, she had to readjust her composure and gently smiled at the participants. 'Towel?'
You're gonna need a bigger boat
