Paige really really really really really really needed to shut up. She glanced at Rhea, nervous, almost afraid even, to see what she was thinking. Yes, see. Facial clues were easy things to read, and also the only thing Paige could read. Paige mimicked Rhea in cutting the plants. Of course, Paige struggled slightly.

But the job was done. She wiped her forehead with her arm. She glanced at Rhea again. No response. She tried to see what was going on in Rhea's brain. But alas, this girl was good at hiding it.

Aaaaand the fatal words of doom. I SUPPOSE. Paige nearly slammed her head on the table in defeat. In her time of despair, she decided to keep what little left of her dignity she had and not.

She took a breath. Say something. " Okay. Well, I'll just explain what I mean." She said, her face going straight as she focused on her plant. She was closing herself off. "Even the slightest touch of plants can alter them, negative or positive. " She blew some hair from her face. "Which makes me feel guilty." She put her plant down and glanced at Rhea.

Hm. "What am I like? Uh... I guess I'm.. kind. I never am afraid to stand up, though. When I'm really happy a talk fast, but when I'm nervous I talk a lot. There's a difference."

At least Grant was offering an explanation. It better be an adequate one, though, for the sake of the Hufflepuff's own self-respect. Plants with feelings, huh? The idea wasn't too far fetched, seeing as they were both attending a school that literally taught magic, so stranger things were possible. Still, she could be pretty confident that not all plants could feel things.

Oh, that was true, about the altering a single touch was capable of. For one second Rhea was swayed. Then she realized that same logic could be applied to just about inanimate object, couldn't it? Still... as far as arguments went, that one wasn't terrible. She nodded thoughtfully, a vague smile creeping up on her face, tugging up the corners of her cheeks ever-so-slightly.

Grant's answer to the second question didn't surprise Rhea, but it did interest her somewhat. One: kind. The Hufflepuff was kind. That was a given. Two: unafraid to stand up... a simple way of putting it, in contrast with the complex analysis occurring in Rhea's head at the moment. Kind but not afraid. Maybe it wasn't as complicated as the Gryffindor was making it out to be.

Grant ended her explanation with a question-provoking statement, so Rhea finally spoke. "Which one is it right now then? Are you happy, or nervous?" Because it was clear that she was one of them. And even if she wasn't, the implication that Rhea knew something about Grant that she was possibly trying to hide was satisfying to present.

Paige blinked at Rhea. A simple question or it should have been. Paige had thought that the difference was obvious indeed, but that wasn't the issue. The issue is that if Paige answered,
Rhea would... figure... something was going on.

Because something WAS going on. So by all means, Rhea. Go ahead and figure it out. Paige was confused by it, maybe you will understand better. Paige considered her options, before choosing her words carefully. "A little bit... of both. " She replied, taking interest in the plant before looking Rhea in the eyes. "I'll admit. You're.. intimidating. But I like that about you. You seem really cool..." She muttered, her voice trailing off. It was a bit late to rethink, she had already spoken.

I sound weird. She opened her mouth to say sorry, but only a sound resembling a cough came out and she gave up. She sat silently, and for once this class, she didn't mind the silence. It helped her sort everything out. I like her, don't I?

I like her.

So... Im not straight? Or is this... a... phase?

She looked at Rhea. Her resting face hid her emotions, she was totally mysterious to Paige. That made her more interested, and she sat up. "So. Rhea- uh- I've been talking more about me _{sort of} but I don't know much.. about.. you?" She said, almost like a question, is it okay if I want to know more about you?

Is it okay that I LIKE you?
