"We get along as well as most siblings do." she started beginning to really look at her relationship with her younger sisters. Her first sister, Dorothy, was smart and cautious. With her everything had a logical explanation, some form of reason behind it. It was to Adlai's surprise that her sister had a gift for magic as well, though of course Dorothy denied everything but Adlai stilled hoped it would eventually bring them closer together.

Then her second sister, Johanna, was truly just a copy paste of their father. She was always curious, always asking 'why?', 'when?,' 'where?,' or 'how?,' and always getting into trouble in one way or another. Adlai wondered if she too would have a gift for magic, and if so what would her poor muggle parents do with three witch daughters?

"I'm the oldest so I suppose my view of things is a bit biased but I know we love each other even though sometimes we fight, and so I can somewhat confidently say we get along as much as the next pair of siblings does." she explained. Little did she know that not everyone had the same image of what a regular, day-to-day sibling relationship looked like.

Aldor would nod, sadly, he didn't really understand how anyone could interact with their siblings, of course, this was part of the way he grew up, but he often admitted that the ones he considers his siblings are those close to him, friends, mentors and anything similar. It wasn't difficult to understand why his mind worked that way once you learned about Aldor's family.

''That seems like a nice way of living, or at least that's what I've read-''

He realized pretty soon that saying that he read it sounded extremely suspicious, but he couldn't take it back anymore, what's done is done, but sometimes he wished that he could change what he said.

''I mean, that is how families normally should be like right? You know, caring and loving even after fights and misunderstandings and so-

He looked away, trying to think of a way to fix the horrible frase that he said before, he didn't want to speak about his family, but maybe Adlai did want to. He wanted to keep this conversation going, but maybe it was better to keep some things to himself to avoid making his possible friend feel uncomfortable, after all, it wouldn't be fun to talk about how an awful mother he had.

"Yeah, I agree." She stated as she allowed her thoughts to wonder back to her family. They were quite close to one another, in an almost inhuman way. She wasn't sure if it was because she initially grew up in a small town or if it was because of her mothers strict moral teachings, but nonetheless she liked it. She liked knowing she would always have a safe place to return to, where she would be loved regardless of what she may have or have not done.

But at the same time she seemed to notice that many students at Hogwarts had what she did. In fact she noticed a majority greatly disliked their family. It made her heart yearn for them, to help them although they would likely push away her help. At the same time she wasn't entirely sure why she wanted to help them, what would helping them do for her? In the end to keep herself from having an existential crisis, she decided it must be a spiritual affair.

"How about you? Do you have any siblings?" she asked. She found it odd for people not to have siblings, since she couldn't see why one would not have them and couldn't imagine a life with out them.

''I do, I have my older brother, Conor, and my sister Shauna, also my youngest sister, Cara- ''

As Aldor said this, it sounded like he wasn't exactly happy about it, but three siblings would sound like something normal to some, of course, he got along with them most of the time, even though he hasn't seen them in person for over two years now, he always talked to them through letters, or if they wanted to hear his voice, through his aunt's phone. He wasn't good at conversating with them.

The sad reality was that he only thought of most of his family as people who shared the same blood as him, they were merely acquaintances to him, he still has a bit of a grudge towards them, even though he knew that what happened through his childhood was not his sibling's fault. He still has a hard time coping with the fact he never really had the chance to spend time with his siblings in a much more personal level.

Of course, Adlai didn't know this, and he didn't blame her for being curious and all, he didn't feel comfortable enough to tell her about his family, only one person knew this in Hogwarts.

"Ah, well you beat me! One more sibling than me, that's impressive." She said only to pick up that Aldor didn't seem to happy about it. Not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable she tried her best to change the topic.

"Yeah...siblings are...well they're siblings but one thing I can think of thats even better is food. Yes, food- speaking of food I should probably get some." Nailed it! - she thought to herself as she was unsure how to exactly bring up the next thing that was on her mind.

Bringing herself to her feet she smiled down at Aldor, "Well I hope you enjoy your time out, but I need to go and get some lunch before the hour is up. I'll maybe see you around though, ok?" she inquired. She did hope the two of them would cross paths again since Aldor seemed to be a nice boy, and the both of them being in the same how made those hopes even more likely. However, if he did not wish to meet again she wouldn't pressure him.

She understood that she could come off as "too much" for some people. If he was out of sight, he would be out of mind to her...well unless she felt as though he didn't like her.

Attempting to leave the thread.

Aldor smiled once more, this time, it was a bit fake, he was happy to talk to someone like Adlai, they had many things that were so different, but at the same time, he felt a strange confidence coming from her, this made Aldor himself feel a bit more comfortable with the thing around him, but he was a tiny bit dissapointed with how he acted through all of the conversation, he wished that he could've made an interesting conversation, something that fulfilled the need to talk to someone.

But he didn't feel like this was the case, he was rather desperate to say sorry, he didn't know why he did, he just felt the need to do it, but he remained silent, he didn't know it was worth it.

''Oh- Um, see you around, it was nice talking to you. I hope to see you again.''

Aldor kept his little fake smile up as she decided to walk away, but he remained by the water, drowning in a strange feeling that he could only describe as shame. Maybe he should've been honest and told her about his family, he didn't know how to talk anymore, he wasn't sure how to react or what to say, maybe it was a mistake, maybbe it wasn't. He just hoped Adlai didn't feel uncomfortable with how the young Hufflepuff acted, he was always afraid of this feeling, he knew that he was a proffesional at messing up really often.
