Blossom Ball - Underworld

To be honest, Gregorí disliked thematic parties like this. The reason was simple, because attendees were encouraged to dress up to match its theme. Did the organizers ever take into consideration that not everybody had money to spend on luxuries like that?
He recalled when some years ago his elder sisters' friends or classmates celebrated their quinceañera, or 15th birthday party typical for teenage girls in his home country Mexico (and many other Latin American countries). A couple of these girls requested that his sisters should wear blue, or black, or polka dots; and then his sisters spent their savings on such requested dresses because their parents would not purchase for them.
Some might think they were stingy, and many teenagers would surely accuse them of "trying to ruin their children's social life", but Gregorí understood why. With low income from their jobs as blue-collar workers and seven mouths to feed, his parents simply could not afford spending money on stuff that did not count as basic necessities. Why, the kids even had to wear each other's secondhand clothes.
Tonight, Gregorí was in his simple but neat white button-down and black trousers, all of which had once belonged to his brother. He had been wondering if he would be the only attendee not wearing something related to Greek mythology, but then he spotted his closest friend Drew in a simple jumpsuit. Lately, Drew seemed to be getting more popular and surrounded by more friends; Gregorí had not even had a chance to ask the American what he was going to wear to this ball.
"There's Drew," he gave Elisabeth a gentle tug. The Hogwarts girl was his primary reason for coming again to the magic school of Great Britain and Ireland, because she was very kind and a wonderful friend, but they did not get a chance to personally meet each other often. A visit to Hogwarts certainly was a golden opportunity for this purpose. "You remember Drew, don't you? I'll go say hi to him, wanna come?"
Elisabeth nodded, and the two came over. Drew was surrounded by some kids: a boy Gregorí could not recall on meeting before, and two girls he remembered from the last time he visited this school - he did not even know their names though, he only recalled that the two were among few students who tried to solve some kind of riddle at that autumn dance.
The Mexican gave Drew a slight pull on the shoulder. "Hey!" he called. And then to the three other pupils, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"

Blossom Ball - Underworld
Clara feels beautiful. In a creamy dress made by her godfather under a hand-painted corset she looks like a true water nymph, the look she was going for. It may not be the ball gown or excessiveness of many girls at Hogwarts, but it is an outfit made with love and a gentle hand, something the Durand girl respects and honors. Weaved throughout her hair are blue flowers, picked from her Mama's garden and spelled to be preserved. Under the starry sky of the Hogwarts courtyard, the girl feels like she is glowing.
Clara stands in a corner, hidden by the night sky and a massive oak. She knows her brother asked the girl from the first night to the dance, and Clara has found that she enjoys this game, so as she watches them enter, she slides out of her hiding place.
The girl does not like the whole underworld theme, something about it rubs her the wrong way. Thankfully, she watches as Serena begins to drag her brother over the the more... welcoming part of the ball. Staying hidden behind them, as to not interrupt them before the right moment, Clara follows her bother and his date's lead into the Spring area.

Selim watched as the girl he had been trying to speak to Anhanatos gave up on her objective, slinking away to speak to someone else... ah, Kit Paine in the form he had first met them in. Though it seemed the girl speaking to them was not fully aware that they were talking to a staff member. A grimace tugged at the edges of his lips.
He was lucky that he had seen the man's more common forms before such events, or else he'd likely be deceived in much the same way.
Shifting he continued to scan the 'Underworld' the blue light of the fire flickering against his pale mask, casting it in an eerie glow. There was still no signs of Deathmote, and idly he wondered what had held the boy up...
"Who knows, likely something had caught his eye, probably another 'suspicious' inanimate object." Ronri commented dryly, her voice unheard by anyone other then him.
"It doesn't matter, either way, he isn't obligated to come. I simply invited him because there is going t be some sort of danger that will appear. There always is, going by what I've heard of these pointless events." Selim'svoice held not even a reflection of emotion, his mind levelled by the mask he wore, how blank it was. If he was not also emotionless it just wouldn't sit right.
His response to 'nothing' was no louder than a murmur.
"Why do you keep coming then?" Akus snorted in his snake-like voice.
"You know why. To observe, to learn more about the secrets of this god-forsaken place." He responded, heedless of what he had said before his answers.
"I find it ironic that you mock Jack for his lack of Selve-Preservation then turn around and do just as he does."
Selim frowned. A memory flashing through his mind, of the time the Fox corrected his use of 'hypocrite'. His fingers twitched, curling with the burst of unidentifiable emotions, wanting to respond with loathing, with bloodlust. "I still have more self-preservation than he, I do not intend to rush into danger this ball. If violence breaks out, I will remain in the shadows. If I am engaged, I shall defend myself. Nothing more, nothing less."
Aku chuckled darkly. "Whatever you say..."
The conversation ended, they all returned to silence. To watching over the crowd, his gaze hunting for irregularities.
Selim's gaze drifted over to a slight commotion, someone punching one of his dormmates... eh they likely deserved it.
Time slowly dredged forward, and he paused in his scanning the crowd upon finding a peculiar sight. Rainwood seemed to have spotted him, no, that's an understatement, 'entranced' would be a better word if the look on his face was to say anything.
Glancing a bit past him he noted a familiar girl... Ileen... something. Was she his date? Shouldn't he be focusing on her? The masked boy let out a bit of a sigh at the typical actions of his dormmate.
He paused as he heard someone speak nearby, freezing for a moment as it was obvious they were speaking to him... 'giant creepy rabbit'? He glanced away from his dormmate, noting a girl walking towards him with what he deduced was pepper spray. The boy blinked, did she actually think there wasn't a person below this mask?
He hoped she wasn't that dumb because it was more likely she thought he was some sort of intruder. A frown furrowed his lips as she stepped closer, he stepped back. She then told him not to come any closer even though she was the one walking toward him. Annoyance flared up as he made sure the distance between them was the same as when she first approached.
This was why he didn't mingle with his peers, most if not all of them were idiotic.
She then sprayed him with the chemicals that could literally lead to someone going blind. Unprovoked by anything except his appearance.
He rose his arms up instinctively to shield his face, hissing. Whether or not any got in his eyes, he'd lunge at her, free hand formed into a claw crashing to approximately where her cheek was.
Basically he tried to pounce on her like a cat, slashing at her with his hand, which, in the end, would simply do blunt damage and likely not even draw blood if it hit.
After the attack, successful or not, he sharply turned, darting further into the shadows. Promptly crouching afterwards he scurried under a nearby table.

Blossom Ball - Underworld
Interacting with @Phaedra Stavrou
"The theme was Ancient Greek...?" Well that suddenly made more sense. Perhaps he should have actually read the flyers that he had found. He had brought his outfit with him. Packing in advance and having limited clothes was such a pain. He had thought the theme was related to India or to 'white and gold' and then never really bothered to find out otherwise. Huh... He probably should have checked when he reached Hogwarts. There are tons of little twerps that he could have beaten up and stolen costumes from if needed. Oh. Ah he had to respond before Stavrou thought he was stupid or something!
Arjan grinned a little, scratching the back of his neck in response, "Ah well, uh, Serena might have told me the theme was different. Thought it was Indian or something instead, hence the kurta," He responded, pinning the entire thing on his sister despite the fact that she technically did not even speak to him about it. He had made an assumption and rolled with it. He was not the type to admit fault though. It was much easier to blame her. He normally would not have even brought her up but Stavrou was one of the few people who knew they were related anyway. He was mildly surprised she knew the word 'Kurta' but also impressed at the same time.
Technically he was not 100% sure that what he was wearing was a kurta. He did not know the outfits of his culture well enough to say for certain but that was a word he had heard before and... it sounded right? It was probably right. At least, he was 80% sure it was right. That was enough to say it with confidence.
He blinked as he heard her response to the drinks. Adverse effects. He could not specifically recall anything from the last event he attended here but he was also not entirely sure if he had drunk anything or the right thing. Nonetheless, she seemed to be wary of this - was this a common occurrence? Strange school, if so.
Despite this, he headed over to the punch table with her and had a look. The drinks did not look like they had weird affects but what did that even look like? It was a strange shade but surely that was just to match the theme, no? "You know... I don't think we'll know till we try," He decided, not being particularly apt to recognise anything suspicious. The smarter option might have been to let the others drink and see if there were any strange reactions but he was trying to show how brave and courageous he was! With that, he filled two glasses, held one for her as he held his. If she took it, he'd raise it and 'clink' them together as he had seen many adults do. Either way, he would speak up with potentially famous last words, "What's the worst that can happen, right?" and he would bravely take a few sips. Besides, how bad could it really be? It was just juice or something, right?!

Rodion MakarovichWhen Luka asked if his outfit was too much, Anastasia shook her head while smiling. ''Nah, I think its perfect. Not too much, really, not too little. Perfect.'' she said in Russian. When she left with her friend to the table where the glasses full of punch were located, she took a single one and sipped it slowly, when she saw that Rodion and a girl in a green dress arrived. In her head, she thought that this girl looked ridicoulous in that dress, but she kept that thought to herself. She wasn't sure why she thought that, since the girl actually did look lovely. ''Oh, we can stay~ Rodion hasn't done anything strange yet, so I can just maybe hope that he doesn't talk to me, he seems to be very entertained with his date.'' she whispered at Luka, again in Russian. She didn't want to be overheard by anyone, that is why she kept talking in her native tongue instead of english, not to mention the fact that her english was...pretty poor.
Deciding to have a fun afternoon at the ball, she looked around at the people that were attending. She didn't recognize anyone because of the fact that she was in a complete different school, and because she hadn't met many people in Koldovstoretz either. She sighed as she took another sip from her punch and looked around once more, carefully at Rodion and his christmas tree date. She was already crossing her fingers and toes for them not to approach her, since she didn't want to talk to Rodion at all. Afterwards she would try and escape to the path that leaded away from the Underworld, if the other Russian student tried to talk to her.Action: Drinking a glass of that punchstamina 8 evasion 5 strenght 2wisdom 10 arcane power 3accuracy 5

Ileen gifted Percival with a deep smile, the one that painted little dimples in her cheeks, as he complimented her. “Thank you.” She didn’t mind that he had picked a rather modern interpretation of the theme. In fact, she was surprisingly comfortable with him by her side - as comfortable as she could in a room that was literally her worst nightmare. Last time they had survived together when the shadow had lashed out. If Aida and Dee were here so she could watch out for them she would feel even better… No, wait. When she had told Dee that she wanted to go to the ball with Percival she had gotten the feeling that this wasn’t over yet. Maybe being around Dee wouldn’t be too safe at the moment. But who knows. Maybe she actually had forgiven her?
Ileen didn’t realize that she still was holding onto Percivals arm until he suddenly moved forward and dragged her along into the dark hell. A surprised gasp escaped her as she stumbled along before she caught herself and tried to move with more elegance.
She slightly blushed in embarrassment and was now thankfully for the low light. Glancing back at her date she wondered if he had noticed that she was insecure. Or more scared like hell. And just like this, she was reminded why she felt so anxious in the first place. The hand that was not holding onto Percival’s arm touched her wand again. Her eyes flickered back to the dark corners with the dancing shadows and she fought down the pressing urge to cast Lumos Maxima.
Then she followed Percival’s gaze to see what he was moving towards and frowned as she spotted the creepy rabbit that was approached by a girl. Ileen squinted her eyes. Was she attacking them? Yes, the mask looked somewhat scary, but as always animals won over humans for Ileen. “Oh dear, do you know who that is? And why is someone trying to attack them? Poor rabbit. They are not treating animals right.” Ileen made a face and shook her head, happy about an incoming distraction and something to make sarcastic comments about.
At this very moment another person entered the room and totally changed the mood of the whole situation. Ileen flinched and turned around to see who dared to destroy the silent and dark mood in the Underworld and her dark eyes fell on a familiar face. She remembered the boy from a certain errand and another smile appeared on her face. Wasn’t that Jack? She raised her arm and waved at him with a giggle. He just calmed her down by breaking the creepy atmosphere. She poked Percival and nodded at Jack’s costume. “Look, that’s also a rather modern interpretation, right?” With a twinkle in the eye she squeezed Percivals arm. She wondered why he hadn’t complained yet. Last time, he had snapped at her for grabbing his hand.

Rodion MakarovichViolet knew that being complimented was okay, however something about it made her uncomfortable, maybe it was because of the constant self hate she had towards herself, or because she just did not like Rodion, her blossom ball date at all. Being told that she looked beautiful in these kinds of events would usually be considered normal, right? Especially if these words came from her one and only Russian date, the person she was supposed to spend the ball with. With a mental sigh, she didn't reply to his comment, as she played with the purse she had in her hand.
When they both walked towards the punch table, she took a glass of the punch and sipped silently as she watched the others have fun- some of them even kissing already. The disgust clear in her face, she looked back at Rodion who was adressing something else again to her. When he called her Viola, her eyes glared at him. ''Don't call me 'Viola', my name is Violet. And the decorations are okay, they really fit the theme, I like it, kind of.'' she looked at him dumbly, and then looked at what the hell he was doing- ''Why are you throwing the punch....over your shoulder.....what.'' she stared at him, rolling her eyes as she saw what he was doing. ''If you dont want to drink, just dont.'' she said, rolling her eyes.
Now that she did think of it, those drinks weren't really trustworthy, but she had already sipped a bit of it anyways, she wasn't going to go back and be a ridicoulous person that threw the juice everywhere.Action: Drinking that punch o.OSta 6 Eva 8 Str 1 Wis 10 Arc 2 Acc 8

Henry still had a desire to run. He still felt his anxiety present and he still felt like a outsider, especially in that moment as he hidden any and all emotions from those around.
His eyes darting around looking for Logan till they rested on Aldor when he heard his question and nodded a bit as he spoke" you costume is bloody wicked Al, the idea is amazing. It's even more amazing that you created it," before he would look down at his costume with a small smile then back up at Aldor as he spoke" inspiration from the books, yeah but a camper of cabin 6 or Athenas campers. Did you read the books Al?" the young teen wild then fall silent as Aldor started to talk about his costume to the gryffindor girl he assumed was his date.
Henry would only give her a small nod when she introduced herself as Tory before the young teen went back to look elsewhere, he felt dread fill up inside him as he wanted to run. He didn't feel like he was really there or a part of the group, he felt like he was separated. Like there was a barrier between him and everyone else.
Henry would see a red head and at first thought of Rose but quickly realized it wasn't. As he gave Scarlett a small wave before turning back to the others questioning why he would think Scarlett was Rose. Was he hoping that it was her? Was he looking for her as well Logan?
Henry shook himself from the thought as he had a urge to run from the ball again when he heard Aldor's voice and question in which Henry calmly nodded as he spoke" uh sure, thanks Al but isn't Tory your date? I would feel awful if I joined you and her if she is," Henry thought he would just leave since he didn't want to interrupt Aldor and Tory's night and he had a reoccurring feeling like he wasn't really there. Like he didn't belong in the group or others couldn't actually see him.
That was when Henry saw Logan approach and immediately stood next to her and give her a soft smile when he heard her voice.
"You look amazing robin," Henry spoke before looking back at the Aldor and Tory as he spoke" do you guys want to go to the other area together, it might have better looking drinks or food? Unless you want to do something else robin," Henry would turn his head to his best friend waiting for her answer since he valued her opinion and was great with following her lead that night.
Henry looked between the small group of four, staying close by Logan as his emotions were hidden on the outside from any and everyone. On the inside they were present and increasing each moment that went by.

Drew grinned at the approach of his friend. They both looked good in their jumpsuits. "Hey!" he greeted the boy. "Well the Fall Ball last year was kinda ominous, but definitely..." he paused to take a look around. "Definitely not like this." When he was asked about seeing Cassie and Scarlett or not, he shook his head. "I've been keeping an eye out for them, but no, nothing yet." He smiled a little, and wondered why he called Scarlett just Cassie's redhead friend. The both of them were friends with Scarlett too, were they not? "Oh, ours are definitely better," Drew said.
Cassie joined them soon after, seeing Charles first before acknowledging Drew and including him in the conversation. He grinned. Once she finally gave herself room to breathe and them room to talk, Drew would answer, "You look great! I thought about going with the theme, but boys' fancy stuff is so limited, you know? Like, girls can have dresses and shoes and makeup and hair, but guys are usually limited to just the suits. All the Greek stuff I could find looked like cheap Halloween costumes." He rolled his eyes with his explanation, not really considering that they might not all know what Halloween was exactly. "But these jumpsuits were wicked, so we thought we would piggyback off of your idea." He smiled in a joking and friendly way. "Nice to see you again, Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin," he said proud of himself for remembering the whole thing. Her full name was quite long, wasn't it? Then he stopped himself. "Oh- I mean, Artemis."
Charles suggested a competition between boys and girls for the trials. Drew had to admit, he had spied them and wanted to do them. Definitely. Drew rolled his eyes playfully at Charles. "We don't have to prove our jumpsuits are better, they just are."
Scarlett arrived. Drew nodded when she asked to confirm if his name was Andrew or not. He smiled and said, "Call me Drew, though. The only people that call me Andrew are my teachers and my parents whenever they get angry." Scarlett gave the same idea as Charles had. She was right, after all. They did have an equal number and Drew could beat a couple of people at random trials any day. "That's a brilliant idea," he said.
He was then approached by his best friend, Greg, and smiled at the sight of him and Elisabeth. He was glad that Greg had found Elisabeth again at the ball, remembering that awkward day back in the fall when Greg had been so shy towards the Hogwarts student. "Hey Greg! I wasn't sure if you were coming or not, but it's sure good to see you," he said. "You look dashing, man. And you look amazing, too, Elisabeth!" he complimented the both of them. Greg asked if there was anything he was interrupting, and Drew said, "This is Charles, Cassie, and Scarlett. We were just going to go do the trial thingies. You're welcome to come with us if you want," he said lightly, with a smile.
Scarlett beckoned to Cassie and turned to go to the trials. Drew glanced their way. "You wanna come?" He wasn't sure what Greg's response was going to be, but he would would wait for it. Whatever Greg's preference would be- whether he would stay here with Elisabeth or join them in doing the trials- Drew would go to the trials.
