Reducio appearance. Standing at 147 cm, Gia is a little bit shorter than the rest of her peers. Still, she doesn't let this bother her all too much - she's used to being shorter than most others anyway, since she lives with a brother who's much taller than her. With her shoulder-length straight brown hair and green-blue eyes, a lot of things about her are pretty average. Still, the smirk that is very often found on her face draws attention to her, for it almost always seems like she's up to something or that she knows something that others don't. Her skin is pale throughout most of the year, although during the summer months she does tan a little bit. As for clothes, Gia will wear anything, really... well, besides a dress. While she isn't completely against dresses, it's much more likely than not that you'll find her in something other than a dress, such as jean shorts or leggings and a t-shirt. ─────────────────────────── personality. Gia is a kindhearted girl, but her bold, brave ideas and reckless manner are always getting her into tough situations. Luckily, she's quite clever, and she makes it out of those predicaments easily. Most of the time, at least. She's almost always in the mood to meet someone new, and on the outside she doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. Gia can be quite sassy at times, and can also hold a grudge for a very long time, so. . . don't get on her bad side.

CHARACTERISTICS.

HISTORY.

Reducio childhood. Gia was born on February 23, 2009 to Marissa and Braxten Adelard. Her brother Vance had been born three years prior, and had asked his parents over and over and over again for someone to play with. Someone other than them to talk to. Lucky for him, Vance got his wish. Sadly, when Gia was only three, Marissa was diagnosed with cancer and didn't survive. The first few weeks after that, the girl kept asking her father and brother where her mother was, and they always gave the same exact answer: "Gone." It took a while for the word to reveal it's true meaning to her, but when it finally did, Gia was devastated. What would her life be like, now that she didn't have a mother? Who would be there to help her through the hard times when the rest of her family wasn't there? Still, even the worst things in life have a silver lining, no matter how horrible they are at first. Due to the passing of their mother, Gia and Vance grew closer than ever. The siblings stuck together throughout the years, and even though they did argue many times, both children always got over it fairly quickly. Their father, Braxten, became a little overprotective after the death of his wife. There isn't a way to stop some things from happening, but he tried nonetheless, and both of his children stayed very safe from harm for the next couple of years. When the Adelards received the letter from Hogwarts telling them that Gia had been accepted into the school of magic, none of them knew what to think. For one thing, magic? At first, all of them agreed that it must be some kind of silly prank that was being played on them. A few days after they'd gotten the letter however, Gia remembered all the times when something odd had happened to her and the people around her. When the girl mentioned this to her father and brother, all three of them began to wonder: Could magic actually be real? A few weeks before the start of the term, Braxten decided that Gia would be allowed to go. She had been pleading with him to at least give it a chance, and he finally relented, just in time. When she went to Diagon Alley that summer, the whole family was amazed at everything they saw. A week later, Gia Adelard boarded the Hogwarts Express and waved to her family as she left for Hogwarts. ─────────────────────────── first magic. The first time Gia ever performed an act of wandless magic was when she was only three years old, maybe three or four months after her mother died. She had been sitting with her father on his bed. It was one of those times where he seemed to have been struck with a sudden bout of grief over the loss of his wife, and there was very little anyone could do to comfort him. Still, even knowing this, the girl tried as hard as she could to cheer him up. "Daddy, it's okay," she said softly. "C'mon, wanna play a game?" he shook his head, not even looking at her. "Daddyyyy, please?" Gia poked his shoulder, but all he did was put his face in his hands, seemingly having finished with staring at the grey wall in front of him. "Daddy," The three year old complained. "Answer me!" He finally turned to look at her, but she could tell that something was wrong. And she was right. "Nothing is alright," he said, and both his face and tone were very grave. Gia started to feel a little worried - and there might have even been a little fear in her expression as well. Her father didn't seem to care. "Your mother is dead," he said, even louder now. "Dead!" Gia slid off the edge of the bed and backed away a couple of steps. Her father didn't notice. "She's not coming back," he whispered. Even though she was a little scared, Gia set her feet firmly on the ground, determined to help. "Daddy, don't think about it that way!" she said. Then, remembering something her brother had told her, she added, "Mommy's in a better place, that's what Vance said." Her father shook his head, and still wouldn't look up. Suddenly, a strange shadow appeared on the wall, and Gia looked up in surprise. "Look!" she exclaimed, and her father finally glanced up, his eyes widening in shock. Somehow, someway, the picture of Marissa that Gia's father kept locked in a drawer had gotten out. It was floating towards them, and a few moments later it had landed right in Braxten's open hand. "Oh," the girl said softly. Then, seeing that her father seemed to want to be alone, Gia walked out the door and shut it quietly behind her.

Hi everyone - just wanted to write a quick goodbye message.
I'm going to be deactivating this account very soon because real life has gotten way too busy and chaotic for me to stay super active, and because Gia's character has become a little hard to write for me. I will most definitely come back as a new character, though, sometime in the future (not right away). Thank you all for being so amazing and wonderful, and talk to you all soon, hopefully! You all are lovely people and great writers, and I'll miss you all!!

Note: IC, Gia will be transferring to Ilvermorny because her family had to move because her father got a new job. Feel free to say she wrote letters to all her friends explaining, and I'm sorry this is a really bad reason haha, I can't think of anything else right now.
