2021, Stage 3 Group E: Ravenclaw vs Slytherin Finished

Well, this was certainly becoming terrifying rather quickly.

In what seemed like a matter of seconds Adonis seemed to follow Thomas to the infirmary, leaving Callie to desperately try and dodge the two spells flung her way. Rather than mock Opelia with a taunt she kept uncharacterisically silent and her gaze focused entirely on her opponent. Her odds weren't great but that wasn't going to stop her from trying..

The pressure was on. All hopes of a win had dwindled down to two witches, and neither showed signs of wavering. Callie sent a searing bolt of fire towards her opponent, one which Opeila very narrowly dodged, the evasion so slim that she would feel the Incendio Duo's angry heat brush by in close passing. The Slytherin's skill did not end there. She retorted with a flash of nauseating emerald energy, one which struck Callie's core, instantly inflicting her with the build-up of telltale sinus pressure. In little time, great green gobs of snot would be dripping from the Ravenclaw's nose. The bogies curse was never pretty.

Things had grown both terrifying and incredibly irritating all at once. Why on earth did she keep missing by such narrow margins? Perhaps the prospect of what was once a 2v1 scenario had really gotten to her head. Either way to make matters worse the familar grasp of the bogies spell had decided to grace her presence, prompting a fustrated huff from the poor girl. However instead of making her complaints too vocal she continued looking straight ahead with defiant determination.

If she was going out like this, she wasn't going out without being a massive pain in the behind.

Opeila was tense to the limit and maybe that was the thing that saved her from Callie's fire making spell. God, she never wanted to be hit by one of those again, they were just nasty. She remembered it from her last duel against the two Gryffindors. That had been what knocked her out in the end.
Without much of a problem, Opeila evaded the Ravenclaw's spell and sent one back at her. She blinked a little surprised when it actually hit. The Slytherin clasped her wand tightly. This would be her fight. It had to be.

As if the Curse of the Bogies wasn't awful enough, Opeila was about to make the experience downright horrible for Callie. The Slytherin cast a Dancing-Feet Spell of such formidable proportions that the Ravenclaw would be sent into a frenzied step. She was Jazzercising frantically, snot still spouting in gross green gobs. While this would have been an excellent source of cardio under normal circumstances, it clashed with the Curse in an awful way. Bogged down by boogers and outdated exercise, it came as little surprise when Callie's next attempt at Incendio Duo did not come close to its target.

Opeila felt sorry, she really did, when her perfect Dancing-Feet-Spell hit the blond Ravenclaw and caused her to start a funny but probably very uncomfortable dance.

The combination with the curse of the bogies had to make it even worse. Poor girl. But hey, that was what they had all signed up for, right? Opeila had been hit with spells until she blacked out twice and she couldn't really feel bad for maybe not going through that again today.

This sucked royally, majorly in fact. Despite all her practice to try and rectify her issue of actually hitting her targets her opponent simply refused to be set aflame. It didn’t take a genius to note that Callie’s time was running out given how terrible she felt under the circumstances, but out of spite she decided not to throw in the towel and force her opponent to work for their victory.

Tension was rising on the stage, and so too was the temperature. Both witches select Incendio Duo as their next casts, sending flame hurtling towards one another. Callie managed to Jazzercise out of the way, as Opeila likewise leapt out of danger, if quite narrowly. It would seem as though this match did change a thing, at least until, something strange happened to the Ravenclaw duellist. Her head would swim as the last of the Bogies hex left her, the final globules of green dripping away. It was a dizzying, disorienting experience, legs moving of their own volition while her sinuses emptied. Her burdens were about to daze her before dissipating.
