Spring Bound Buddies Pv Closed

After a while, a kid slowly walked into the place, his footsteps sounded cautios, being silent most of the time, unless he stepped on a dry leaf or a branch that had fallen from the tree that it originally grew on. The boy didn't seem older than a First Year student, he was quite short, with messy hair and dark green eyes, there wasn't a way that someone like him would be a threat to anybody, right?

The boy was about to sit by one of the trees when he noticedd the girl that was on her own, he froze for a few seconds, only managing to take a few steps back, as he took a strand of his own hair and started twriling it in his fingers. He hoped that she didn't realize he was there, although, it was very unlikely that she didn't hear him walking around.

He stood there for a few seconds, leaning on the tree as he thought of what to do, maybe she didn't want to be disturbed and that's why she came to the lake, that is what Aldor did most of the time when he wanted to do something that wasn't reading or sitting on his bed while thinking of what to do after he was done sitting. Sometimes he just walked all the way to the lake to take naps, he didn't really sleep at nightime, so he placed some of his free time on recovering his energy.

Maybe she just needed time alone and so on, it wasn't like Aldor had a good reputation among students either, of course, his grades were good and it wasn't like he caused harmed to anyone, but some would usually tag him as 'that weird kid from the library'. Somehow, Aldor understood why this was a thing, after all, his free time was usually consumed by reading excesively, but he was happy doing that, even when every Hufflepuff had at least heard about his strange habits.

There was some kind of rustling beside her. Perhaps it was a bird or a squirrel? No, they would be must quieter. It wouldn't a small creature, so it had to be big. Well at least bigger than a bird or a squirrel. Curious Adlai opened her eyes and found a finger fiddling boy not to far from her, but not quite next to her.

She observed him for a moment. He looked young, well every one in this school is young besides the professors and ghosts and the school itself but still, what she meant is that he looked younger than her. Nonetheless he looked somewhat familiar but she was sure she didn't know him since no name had come to mind upon seeing him. Perhaps they had a class together, passed one another in the halls enough to recognize one another's faces? Or quite possibly be in the same house? She tried to remember where she had seen him before, but after a few seconds of not having a clue she spoke.

"Hello." She said, her voice sounding a bit horse from not talking for a while. Clearing her throat, she said it again. "Hello! Sorry about that last one don't know where that voice came from, certainly isn't mine!" She laughed hoping that was erase any tension or alarm her sudden
words had caused.

The boy froze again, taking a few seconds to answer to the stranger's greeting, he was clearly nervous, maybe he was just too shy? Either way, he would slowly aproach the girl again, stuttering while trying to make his words make sense.

''Hey, I-I am sorry for bothering you, I didn't notice you were here-''

He would let go of his hair and tried his best to keep making eye contact, he clearly had some issues with talking with others, at least he was making a good effort, to some, it wasn't very clear what to feel about Aldor, some might feel a bit sorry for the fact that he seemed to be bad at bassically any sort of interaction.

Others would probably just think he was creepy, which in most cases, this was the 'popular' option. At this point Aldor was just waiting to see in which group the stranger would fall into, he was probably not expecting that in reality, she could be different than most people.

''My name's Aldor Humbleglow, I am a Hufflepuff, like yourself-''

Aldor wasn't good with names, but he was capable of remembering faces at an alarming amount, a few seconds of looking at someone and he was very likely to remember even the smallest details, this could probably disturb some students who were simply minding their own bussiness.

"Bother me? Not at all! In fact I pretty sure that's impossible." She said. He was obviously a jumpy little thing, almost reminded her of pet rabbit, Dexter, back at home. She thought back to how to she lying down moments ago. It would have been hard to see her if you weren't next to her, wouldn't it? " I can see why it was hard to notice I was there too, I was a bit hidden wasn't I."

"Humbleglow? That's a cool last name! I'm Adlai, Adlai Rod!" She held her hand out to him to shake if he would wish to do so. "You're a Hufflepuff too! That's great, that's probably why you looked familiar to me, I must have seen you around the common room before!" There we go, now it was coming back to her a bit and she was able to resolidify that she wasn't going crazy.

"Anyway, what brings you out here Aldor?" she asked. "For me personally, I came out to stretch my legs because being cooped up all day is no fun in the warmer months." She watched herself as she rolled her right ankle out in front of her which made a minute pop sound. "At least in my opinion."

His face went red, as she said a compliment about his last name, he was not exactly sure if he thought his last name was just as amazing as she thought, of course, she probably said this because she thought that it sounded pretty.

''Thanks, although, you have a really nice name too-''

He gave her another nervous smile he did seem to be a bit closer this time, almost as if he was a bit more comfortable but still keeping some very clear boundaries, he did seem harmless, like an innocent and weak lamb, helpless and fearful, even pathetic.

He suddenly reacted once she told him that she might've seen him around the Common Room at some point, this was very likely, since he spent lot of time walking around, scheming something.

''Perhaps you have- It wouldn't really surprise me.''

He stuttered once again, as he tried to find a simple and 'normal' answer to her question. Of course he wasn't gonna say: ''I met this group of people who seem to be a threat and I came to reflect about it, might even consider to join them and learn about whatever mess they are planning!''.

''In reality, miss Adlai, I came with the sole purpose of taking a nap or simply resting my eyes a bit, nothing too special. I suppose that's what- you were actually doing before I interrupted with my noisy steps.''

He chuckled a little, after this he took a deep breath, brushing bit of hair away from his deep green eyes.

''I should just- let you do what you were doing, I will just- He paused, as he sat a few feet a way from her, facing towards the lake. ''-stay here a bit if you don't mind.

"Thank you for thinking so, but I've also thought of it rather plane." She said in response to him complimenting her last name. Rod, it was strong had a history but it wasn't exactly whimsical or mysterious. It was the surname of a wood cutter.

"Yes, well there does seem to be a rather large number of people in house Hufflepuff." Though not as much as Gryffindor or Slytherin, but she'd never say it out loud. She then realized that she had only met one or two Ravenclaws her entire school experience. Where were the Ravenclaws anyway? She's heard very little about the house.

"Resting the eyes always leads to a nap of sorts doesn't it," she started. "You weren't being loud at all I was just being restless, so no need to worry about it. And of course you can stay here as long as you like, it's not like I own this land or anything of the sorts." she said beginning to lay back down into the position she was in before she had probably scared the poor boy out of his wits.

Closing her eyes once more she wondered by the boy was so nervous. She settled on the assumption that it had something to do with social anxiety.

Aldor listened to Adlai's words, she said that she thought her last name was plane, and the boy had a few thoughts about this which he couldn't hold himself and simply said them out loud when it was supposed to be just a thought.

''I do not think anyone's name is plane or simple, it is not only about what the name means, it is more about how you make that name yours, in the end, it is as valuable as you make it. You know, bringing honor to it and such-''

Aldor realized he was getting into a bit of a much deeper conversation and backed out, trying to look keep his 'cute kid' mask, but it was definetely not working, he had proven along this conversation that his thoughts were beyond simply sleeping and studying.

He listened to her again, once again, not being able to keep his deep thoughts to himself and simply said them.

''I know you don't own the land, but you own the personal space around you, that is something I have to respect too, because I wouldn't like some0ne invading that space, also because you were here first.''

Aldor's face went red as he kept playing with a strand of his ginger hair, he was slowly getting more comfortable with Adlai's presence, but he was still a little nervous to cause a bad impression.

"I suppose one could bring a note able history to a name if putting in enough effort." she said, it wasn't something she thought about before, perhaps she'd be able to bring glory back to her last name? After all her great aunt had told her time and time again about how grand her family used to be years ago before her grandfather was born. She felt bad for her grandfather, he knew nothing of this and yet so much of their lives have been affected due to his lack of magic.

"You make a fair point but I do really not mind if you stay here." she said.
"I've shared a room with two younger sisters for a majority of my life so someone sharing the space around me doesn't bother me, if anything it's comforting since I'm so used to it." After speaking she wondered if she had perhaps overshared a bit. Now and again she had a tendency to do that, she was exactly sure why? Her mother had told it once that it was just because she was just such a social butterfly, and her father had said it was because she needed way ti express her thoughts. Both idea making some kind of sense.

Aldor wasn't as comfortable as Adlai to share his thoughts, but he felt that since she shared this, he should at least keep the conversation going.

''I haven't really shared a room with anyone for a long while, well- before Hogwarts.''

Aldor bit his lower lip, he wasn't sure if he should say more than that, but at least he had shared a little bit of his thoughts, he can't really pretend that he has a great relationship with his siblings, after all, the conversations he had with them were always over letters.

''Do you get along with your sisters?- I mean, if it is not asking to much, you do not have to answer it if you don't wish to.''

He knew that if she answered that, and she asked him something as well, he would have to answer, he wouldn't mind though, after all, it was in fact fair. Maybe speaking about this sort of topic would bring the two closer, sharing their thoughts and experiences, she did seem really friendly.

It wouldn't be the first time he became friends with a second year student, in fact, his closest friends were from the second year, maybe it was the fact that they understood Aldor's deep thoughts better. He didn't think he was the single most mature person ever, but he did feel that sometimes people could not understand some fears that he had, but these existencial fears were related with the horrible things he'd faced in the past.
