Ileen gave Percival an excited smile and touched her Bow and the matching arrows arranged on her back. She had decided to dress up as Artemis, the goddess of hunt who would choose animals over humans. Just like Ileen. Besides that, the bow and arrows which were part of her costume could come in handy if there was an opportunity to poke somebody Shimada with it.
Not that she would ever admit it, but the Greek Mythology theme was a very tasteful choice. Although it had probably been Shimatta’s idea, Ileen couldn’t deny that she was somewhat excited about it. Not as excited as she had been for the Fall Ball of course - this one couldn’t compete with their event. No matter what.
Arriving at the Courtyard slash Underworld, Ileen looked around and forced herself to not look too impressed. His dark eyes noticed the decorations and the dark and mysterious mood and a shiver ran down her spines. Of course, what a great idea to make the troublesome and doomed event even more creepy.
Though it looked amazing, Ileen suddenly had issues breathing. I felt like there was a knot in her chest, pressing on her lungs and expanding to her stomach. With a tremble in her hand she automatically brushed a curled strand of her dark hair from her eyes, trying to get her composure back.

Her eyes scanned the shadows that were lingering in every corner. Was there an unusual movement? Ileen had not told anyone yet, but she was scared of the darkness. Since the fight club the shadows lost their only material existence to her. A shadow had possessed the body of a boy before it had killed him. The images of the evening shifted across the festive Courtyard and Ileen bristled slightly. Reflexively, she reached out to grab hold of something and caught Percival's arm. Were they crazy composing such a dangerous setting?! Fools.

Taking a deep breath and fighting down the panic, Ileen gave Percival a crooked smile, hoping he hadn’t noticed what had happened to her. Instinctively she touched her chestnut wand, feeling a slight bit more comfortable with that.
Shaking her head to focus back on the current situation, she looked around a second time and arched her right eyebrow. “Okay, it’s not too bad.” She made sure that the Hufflepuff boy wasn’t near.
Grinning, she bit her lower lip and let her gaze slide over the dancing people. Where was he anyway? Or Dee? Ileen was totally prepared for a snap comment of her friend - at least. However, she should focus on the reason she was here. Enjoying herself with Percival and watching Shimada’s precious ball going down in flames. And apparently, keeping an eye on the shadows. She didn’t want anyone to get seriously hurt.
She nudged her ball date, giving him a second look. “You look very handsome by the way.” He really did. The costume suited him and with his blonde hair he really looked like a greek god.

Were you expected to be early when you were the date of one of the ball's organisers? Dee hoped not, or she was doing a terrible job of it already. To be fair, she was still as punctual as she ever managed to be, and she had rather a longer way down to the courtyard from the Raven tower than most other students did.

Yet, while she had planned to arrive early, she had also been somewhat reluctant to go. Was that anticipation, bubbling in her stomach? Nervousness? Apprehension, regret, even dread?

It was the first time she was approaching one of the school's balls with anything more than cheerful excitement. Despite all that tended to go wrong at these events, she'd never lost the optimistic anticipation of a night of socialising and dancing, having fun with her friends, before things went wrong. Tonight would be very different, things would be going wrong even before disaster struck, and Dee was the cause, had planned it, even. Either way, there was no stopping it now, and no point in regretting what she'd set in motion two weeks ago. Not that she did regret it. She wasn't in the wrong here. Still, her temper had cooled some with time. She didn't have the excuse of impulsive irrationality now, she knew exactly what she was doing.

But there was another layer to her reluctance, one that she had neither planned nor expected, and Dee was biting her lip slightly as she stepped out into the courtyard - the Underworld. In hindsight, she should have, considering the theme. It hadn't even been a question - tonight, more than ever, she was Aphrodite: Bronze locks wavy and unbound, roses in her hair and wrapped around her arm. A golden apple in her hand, to make obvious to even the most oblivious spectator that she was the most beautiful goddess of all.

She hadn't taken a moment to think about it when the theme of the ball had been announced, her outfit had been chosen for her more than half a year ago. So how come her thoughts hadn't taken the extra step to the one who'd given her the nickname in the first place? It should have been the most obvious thing in the world, that she would attend this ball with Ruka, and yet the thought hadn't crossed her mind until he had asked her. The night would be going very different with him, full of carefree laughter and dancing.

Instead her eyes were scanning the students that had already arrived, barely even noticing the delicate mood, the decoration, the drinks, and secretly hoping not to see any of her favourite people. The one she was looking for, however, didn't seem to be there, and she doubted he was late, so he must have already moved into the other area.

Well. All of this didn't mean that she couldn't enjoy herself tonight, before everything inevitably went to hell - or Hades - and even that might have entertainment value. There was good company to look forward to, no doubt some excitement planned by the organisers as well, and she was looking forward to attending a ball that she wasn't responsible for. She allowed herself a sigh - only one - then she straightened up, pushed down her trepidation, and started moving towards the Spring Festival, golden apple in hand, and a bright smile on her face.

At last, the Blossom Ball was here. It was all anyone could seem to talk about the past month, most of which Starlee was still upset about the KO in her duel, not to mention all the other weird stuff that happened since the beginning of the year. She was beginning to wonder if some of the older students were right, maybe Hogwarts was cursed. Why else would all this weird stuff happen?

She thought back to the last ball, in which the week before she had her fortune told by an older student. She recalled the girl mentioning mosps attacking the ball. She didn't know what they were at the time, but she had eventually gone to the library to see what they were, finally finding out they were some absurdly large insect straight out of a horror movie. This concerned her, as this ball appeared to be outside as well. Hopefully, Hogwarts learned from the last blossom ball and there was some sort of barrier protecting it.

She tried to push all those thoughts out of her head as she entered what was being called 'The Underworld.' It made sense, the ball was Greecian themed, and Starlee, of course, had chosen appropriate ball attire to fit: her purple, knee-length Grecian-inspired dress, a silver crown with purple beads representing berries placed delicately atop her long straight blonde hair that she had left down, and finally, cute silver Hermes-inspired shoes, with adorable wings on the side. She left her makeup simple, due to her lack of skill, with only brown eyeshadow and mascara. She enjoyed a good theme, and it seemed that most everyone there had embraced it fully.

She made her way over to the drinks table, pouring herself one of the drinks that were spilling out of the fountain. She took an absentminded sip and wondered when Everly would be arriving. It was only a few days before the ball that Everly approached her and asked if she would attend with her as friends. Starlee said yes, knowing that if she went fully alone, she would end up leaving early and not having the fun she felt she deserved after the hell she had been put through. And now here she was, arriving first in this strange, dark room hoping Everly didn't change her mind last minute.

Perhaps all wouldn't be lost if Everly didn't show up. There was a certain boy [Emile] Starlee had her eye on. Of course, he had been following Liz around, but perhaps there was a reason for it? He was really pretty cute... and she hoped he would be visiting again from wherever he was from. Her eyes peered around the room, hoping she might catch a glimpse of him. Heck, she didn't even know his name... was she too shallow? She began to wonder as she watched the crowd and the entrance while holding her drink.

Aldor Humbleglow, the one kid who probably no one expected having in this place. Social events? No thanks, but he had made a promess, an important one. He was supposed to be there earlier, but there wasn't a chance that he could've gotten there before, considering the amount of people he had to avoid to even get into the place.

He knew that this was themed, so he decided that he would ch00se a custome instead of his classic purple suit that he usually wore in special ocassions. Just like in Halloween, he decided to go for a much more intense aproach, going simple wasn't something he enjoyed. He originally wanted to dress up as a the minotaur, but decided that he wanted to design his own version of Typhon.

He thought that, since this was a Ball, and he was definetely not going to dance, he was simply going to make the single most ridicolously complicated custome he thought of, after all, there was always a lot of questioning on what Typhon actually looked like. He re-used the base of his Dragon custome from Hallowen for this one.

Firstly, there was the head, he wanted to give it a more monstruous aproach, making it a skull with horns and pointy teeth, the 'skin' had a rocky texture, and the eyes, mouth, and other parts such as articulations had bright orange, making it look fiery.

The torso had the same details, the back had a pair of wings that were shrunk and stuck together, taking minimal space, the arms were wrapped in a few brown colored snakes from the shoulder to the wrist, the left hand had three fingers and the right one had five, both of them with claws at the end. To finish it off it had a belt made of snakes, running down from the waist to the ankles, the feet had two fingers in the front and a talon.

Maybe it was to ambitious for something he would use once. It wasn't very bulky, and didn't take away much from his mobility, after all, he only made the arms and legs look a bit more muscular with a few materials, he couldn't wait to know what his friends Tory, Henry and Rose thought.

''Am I in the wrong place?-''

The boy walked around, slowly getting to the table that they were supposed to be at, together. He wasn't really the type of person to love this events, but this one had something strange, the place was rather silent and a little dark, to Aldor, this was even soothing, he felt like he was in his own little comfort zone, but others didn't seem to enjoy the atmosphere as much, some were uncomfortable, others were simply silent, confused, not really knowing what to do.

The Irish student had trouble finding his friend, while he kept looking, doing his best not to bump into any of the others students around. He should not be worried about such things, it was still time to look for Tory Williamson and he was late, she couldn't be far, right?

Nico had never imagined that she'd ever go so far into dressing up with her boyfriend. She didn't realise until they arrived at the Underworld that their 'cosplay' was rather fitting. Embarassed she blushed, hoping and trying to hide on Quinn's shoulder, leaning slightly behind his head. To her, darkness wasn't anything new as it has been a big aspect in her family. Especially from her dad's side. Dhampirs and all that. However, her outfit was quite the opposite. In the relationship, she was usually the dark side. Allthough, Quinn had his own way of ... being dark.

She squeeked everytime Quinn had to bend over to dodge a small doorframe. Thankfully he was very thoughtfull and made sure she didn't fell down or slipped off his broad frame. His giant shovel hands offered her a pedestal for her dainty feet to lean on whenever it was needed.

Anyhow. They finally arrived at the new spring ball. As Quinn was her dark Hades, she was the lover he had stolen away from the land of the living: Persephone. Dressed and draped in a toga that seemed to exist out of two different pieces of cloth; red and white. Sitting ontop of her dark king, the toga would drape down both infront of his chest and on his back. No need to worry. The toga was held onto her upper body with some pretty stern bodytape and some sewing secrets her mother has kept to herself. Her strawberry red hair draped in an ancient romanian manner that was fancy enough for a Goddess of Spring. Some bright flowers and pearls decorating the many corkscrew curls that bounced with ever step Quinn took.

A black spikey crown stood on top of her head. Honestly, Nico felt abit shy about it. She felt like she tried to make herself look superior compared to others. But Quinn had persuaded her in keeping it as it suited her so well. Quite a charmer, that gingerbread child. Finally, she held a woven straw basket, filled with flower petals. Most of them were cherryblossom petals. Wherever they'd go, she would sometimes grab a handful of them, and make them rain down. Maybe on some couples to make their date more special. (It also contained her wand, just in case.) Her feet were bare with some golden ornaments to give a finishing touch to that goddess like look she was going for.

The many people she saw kinda made her nervous. But she felt happy being high on top of her beloved skyscraper. She would't want to be here with anyone else.

Percival smiled back at the brown-haired girl. His eyes were bright with the same excitement she held in her own smile. The boy had noted when they first arrived in the common room together how differently the two had decided to go about things. While he had gone for a modern interpretation of the Greek mythological figure, Icarus. Ileen had gone for a much more traditional approach with her costume of Artemis. He was not complaining though as technically they hadn’t planned to actually match. Though, he found it weird as to why he felt a small pinprick of disappointment. Percival hadn’t been too sure how to approach the idea without admitting he wanted to go as more than just friends. So, in truth, it was not like he had any reason to actually feel this way. Percival shook it off mentally as they arrived at the Courtyard. His eyes widened slightly at the breathtaking view. Everything was dark with a foreboding feeling surrounding the entire place. It felt like this place had hidden memories lurking within each shadow. There was a promise. Though, whether this promise was good or bad he had little clue.

The boy looked towards Ileen as he felt Ileen grip onto his arm. He raised a brow at her, a small smile crossing his lips. His heartfelt like it had risen a few inches in his chest. Lodging its way into the base of his throat. A part of him began to hope and wonder if maybe she too had taken the excuse of friends as more to come. Percival huffed out an amused laugh at the girl’s comment. “They really did go all out, didn’t they?” he pointed out as he scanned about the room for a couple of seconds. Percival turned his gaze back towards the brown-haired girl as she nudged him. The boy felt elated at the sudden compliment towards his appearance. “Thanks, you look really beautiful as well.” he said, giving her a grin.

Percival let his gaze roam about the room trying to take in the sights as they entered the Underworld. Something caught the corner of his eye as he swept his gaze over the room. His brows furrowed slightly before turning his gaze back towards the general direction of whatever had caught his eye. It took him a second to actually understand what exactly was lurking within the shadows like a creature of the night. A rabbit was half-hidden within the shadows. Well, it wasn’t exactly a real rabbit. Someone was wearing a rabbit mask that looked to be made of rubber. In that moment his curiosity was piqued, and a slowly growing tidal wave of questions grew under the surface of his skull.

His Grandfather had always said his curiosity would be the death of him. He wasn’t too sure why it would. Sure it had gotten him into less than pleasant scenarios before he had always come out unscathed. He didn’t see anything wrong with following where his scorching curiosity pointed him. Whether or not his curiosity was fueled by bravery or down-right stupidity was still up to debate. His Grandfather would call him stupid, but his Uncle had always found it brave and endearing. The thought brought a sour taste to his tongue. When he was younger it would have made him swell with pride beyond imagination. Now the thought of his Uncle brought nothing more than furrowed brows and a soft frown across his lips. Despite this, knowledge was something he held close. It was a way of understanding the world around him. Navigating the sea of uncertainty by focusing on the burning desire to quench his thirst for knowledge. He never saw it as something to be culled or controlled. Maybe that was why he stepped slightly away from Ileen. His eyes locked in on the rabbit man as his mind whispered promises of reasonable explanations. All he had to do was push deeper. All he had to do was follow the white rabbit.

His entire first year at Hogwarts, Jack dressed to the T for formal events. Honestly, dressing up made him feel special, even though he would murder and be murdered rather than admit it. However, the last Blossom ball, the secret one, left a sour taste in his mouth. Jack never made it out of the changing room before first Burnette attempted to throw some spells his way, plus Erin was of her damn rocker. Honestly, the boy believed that girl should be sedated regularly with a drug cocktail that only a lovechild of a chemist and pharmacist could understand. Jake had a mental breakdown about the voice in his head, and George was just his normal self. However, this year he was determined to be casual and comfortable. He tried his best to stay within the greek theme, but it was probably much too casual for the assumed formal event. There were no specifications, but he was sure that he would stick out. Not that he minded that much. The prefect was always a fan of having people's eyes on him. Indolently placing the black cap (See Banner) on his head, Jack couldn't help but grin at the fact that the twenty quid hat was probably the most expensive thing in his ensemble. He had managed to rip and cut the bed sheet from his bed in the Hufflepuff's Scamander Suite into what was basically a toga, except for the fact that he didn't really feel like having a sash that crossed his chest. So instead he wrapped the decimated sheet around his waist like a towel and pinned a rather beat-up-looking Hufflepuff prefect badge to his hip to keep the manly skirt thingy up. It wouldn't be very family-friendly if he ended up exposing himself to the entirety of the ball. That would get him on a list, at least. However, for the sake of partial nudity, the boy refused to wear a shirt. To be fair, his physique wasn't terribly well built. He was in shape, but the Warren was built to be quick not buff as heck. Sadly even with a frat boy personality, he couldn't have a buff frat boy build. Maybe in the future...probably not.

Even with an outgoing and fantastically dazzling personality, the overconfident boy often had fizzing nervous bubbles that rose from his gut into his throat. Strangely enough, this wasn't the first time that the prefect had wandered around the school half-naked in what was a lazy man's version of a bath towel wrap. In this second year at Hogwarts, Jack had been so unyieldingly eccentric to cover up the softer parts of his personality. It was easier to outshine his other personality traits with craziness, rather than trying to hide the others instead. Hide in plain sight and whatnot. Nevertheless, there wasn't any point in standing around thinking about how his awesomeness was, in reality, hiding his sadness or something. Puffing his chest out like a bird, trying his best to look impressive.

Walking into the Underworld was amazing, to say the least. Jack always enjoyed a somewhat brooding atmosphere. The dichotomy between his surroundings and personality was always fun. It gave him more reason to stand out like a fire on the ocean. Taking in a huge lung filling breath in, much like a big bad wolf coming to huff and puff and blow your house down, Jack let out a bellow. "Alright, people! The PAR-TAY has arrived! I know. I know. Hold your applause." God, there was something so empowering about being just a general nuisance. Better to make a fool of himself, before somebody else could. It takes away any power that people could hold over him. The boy swiped his index and middle finger across the brim of his laurel wreath embroidered hat, and like a certain pocket monster trainer, that I cannot mention because of Copywrite reasons, pulled his hat backward on top of his head. He was read for battlehat-le a PARTY, and he charged right into the center of the underworld. He was sure somebody would say something to him, and if not, at least he made a display. It was obvious that he saw many people that he knew. Whether that be casual acquaintances (like a certain snake dress girl), fire-building mates (Aka the 'Gloves on Fire Brigade'), or people he just flat out found vexatious. PLUS JAKE WAS THERE, Jack's padawan!

Giving her friend a smile when she agreed that the courtyard looked much different than usual, Gia let her gaze wander around the two of them once more as she continued taking each and every little thing in. A lot of times, it was the little things that made something important - or in this case, those little things were what made the courtyard a touch spooky.

The music, for one, bothered Gia. While yes, she could tell that they were going for some sort of Underworld-like effect, the notes that were being played sounded quite sad, not what you'd expect at a spring ball. Of course, the posters hung up all over the school building hadn't exactly shown what you'd think the theme of the ball would be, with their dark look and creepy words and codes, but still. Then there was the fact that there were blue flames that decorated one corner of the courtyard. Even Gia, a first year, knew a little bit about what had happened at the last Blossom Ball - there had most definitely been fire. So, having flames out in the open like that, no matter if they could actually be harmful to the students or not, seemed a little bit... dangerous.

Pushing all these somewhat-eerie thoughts aside, the young Gryffindor took a look around and spotted her friend, Elena. When Gabby told her that it was fine if she went and said hi to her, Gia rushed over and greeted the third year with a bright grin. "Hey Elena!" she said. "Your whole outfit is so pretty!" Noticing that the other Gryffindor was with a friend, Gia gave the other girl a wave.

Glancing back over at Gabby to see what she was doing, Gia smiled when she saw her friend talking to a few others. That smile quickly disappeared when she saw who exactly those "few others" were - or, well, who one of the two people was. Tory Williamson, her best friend's enemy. Frowning, Gia hurried to excuse herself and make her way back over. "Sorry, I've got to go," she said with a small smile. "It was nice meeting you" - this remark was made to the other girl whom she didn't know - "and maybe talk to you later, Elena." With that, the twelve year old hurried back to Gabby's side, stopping only to pick up one of the odd-looking drinks.

When she arrived where Tory, Gabby, and another girl (Rhea) were, Gia crossed her arms. Or tried to - it was hard to do so holding a goblet full of some unknown liquid. "Hello," she said with a smirk in Tory's direction. "I see you're back to ruin more people's wonderful evenings? And another person you don't know, too! Ever think of taking a break from all this?" Glancing at the dark-haired girl who's name she didn't know curiously, Gia waited for a response.

To Carolyn’s brain it felt like an eternity but truth to be told Lucia showed just on time. If anything, it was the Ravenclaw’s fault for showing up a bit early. “Well some of us have to go over the top if we want to compare with the pretty ladies like you,” she said with a smile. The compliment was immediate and so she knew it was an honest reaction coming from the girl but it still felt somewhat undeserved. She shifted her weight ever so slightly in discomfort. A stranger would not notice but Lucia obviously did. They spent some time together and they learned to dance together. It was inevitable that the Hufflepuff would come to learn how to read her subtle body language eventually. She sighed in defeat. “No, not really.” Carolyn admitted bashfully only then realizing how ungrateful she must have sounded. “Don’t get me wrong. I’m aware that they are quite beautiful in theory, it’s just…” She paused for a moment. “The benefactor gives me a headache is all.”

Finally finished with her vague explanation, she suddenly didn’t feel like digging any deeper into the story. This was their evening and her grandmother wasn’t going to ruin it for her. It was enough that she indirectly ruined her previous one. She also wasn't going to comment on the suspicious punch her friend just consumed. There was enough “NO”s and “You are not allowed to do that”s over the spring holiday. I guess I'll just have to be here to catch her once it kicks in... Or tell her she looks fine with two heads or whatever else it decides to do. One thing was for sure though, Carolyn would not drink one herself until witnessing what it did to others. She was intrigued by the trials but the mystery punch was definitely pushing it.

"I like it here too," she agreed with Lucia's words. It appeared most students just passed through, either not too interested or even thinking the place was way too creepy but the Ravenclaw liked it. Sure it was somewhat ominous but not in a bad way. Or perhaps they were just weird. She didn't care either way. "I wouldn't mind staying for a dance if you'd do me the honour but I’m not sure we are meant to be dancing here," Carolyn whispered with a gentle smile. "I guess we could go to the Spring festival if that’s where the dancing happens but a fair warning…I think it has somewhat more modern twist when it comes to music. I'm definitely not opposed to the idea and I’m sure there will be some songs we can dance to but I want you to know that I’m not great at disco dancing." Nobody was perfect and neither was she. She wasn’t afraid to reveal her flaws to her friends and if one of those flaws happened to be the party dancing, well she would just say so. “I would also like to try at least one of the trials later on if you are up for it? Just out of curiosity. I’m definitely not interested in becoming the next Queen of Hogwarts. Sounds kind of scary to be honest.” She cringed at the very thought.

It probably would come as no surprise to those that knew him that Howard had chosen to forego any kind of themed dress or costume for this evenings Ball. He was never one for theatrics and if he were to be honest he was a little too uncreative and boring to come up with something nice anyways. Perhaps if he still had Falentra by his side she could have used her touch to find something nice for him, but that was a thought for another night. For this evening he would wear what he always did, his black, hooded robe. As he entered the courtyard he would again be distracted from the task at hand as his eyes took in the scene. As dangerous as these events could be Hogwarts spared no expense for decoration. The eerie light from the bluebell flames would illuminate his flesh that could be seen from under the hood of his robe, only to make it appear paler than it already was. The light would have the opposite effect on his crimson irises as it dulled the color and made them almost appear black. As it would happen it appeared that Howard was dressed for the theme after all. No one could deny that he was looking particularly "Underworld-ly".

As a breeze swept its way across the courtyard it would bring his task for the evening back to the forefront of his mind as an array of scents filled his nostrils. Howard would use his heightened sense to try and distinguish anything that might smell out of the ordinary, but all that he could pick up was a funny scent that was possibly coming from the refreshment tables. It would however direct him towards his partner for the evening. Giving a wide berth to the first dramatic scene of the night, Howard would make his way towards Jackson and come to stand at his side by the table of drinks. With a squeeze of the shoulder he welcomed his date, "Oi, Jackson. Ya ready for this?" The question was for both their sakes as he mentally prepared himself for whatever may come. The pair had predetermined that they would give up any chance of fun and set their minds to patrolling for any signs of trouble. If the past was to be repeated, it wouldn't take long.
