Same Old
It was the same old for Marissa for the past few days. Even though she was finally back at Hogwarts, it was the same frequent visits to the Hospital Wing. Though Marissa was almost back to normal, she had grown accustomed to visit the Ward as some familiar faces were there, even if she did not speak to them, it was somewhat comforting to have some normality back. With the stint of illness, it had left Marissa bedridden for some months back which caused her body to somewhat weaken. The young wizard was almost back to her normal self, though relying sometimes on a cane to lean on if she had to long walks between classes. This made Marissa concerned that some of her classmates would stare, but as normal, none cared to bat an eye towards her. It was hard for her to get back into lessons, after having to catch on some much homework and classwork. The year was definitely going to be a challenge for her.
The change of the young wizard was not that obvious, only slightly more pale and skinner than before, but the biggest change was her hair. See, over the last summer, Marissa's family gad deserved that she had inherited from her wizard ancestors. She was a Seer. Though to her Muggle family this was quite exciting, it worried Marissa, as it was rather a confusing time for her. Her her had started to turn white through the summer, though this was a slow process. Currently it was only a few strands, but noticeable if someone were to purposely look at her hair as some groups of strands were begging to turn white. But it was safe to say, her bright blonde hair luckily hid it somewhat, though not fully. When it became apparent about her new found 'powers', her family had consulted some export Wizards on the matter, to only get the warning that her beautiful blonde hair would soon turn stark white by the time she was in her adulthood. Marissa hated this due to linking it to looking like an old lady, like her grandma that easily smoked a full pack of cigarettes a day.
But back to present day. Marissa was quietly staring at the Wizard chess set in front of her. She had just finished a match by herself, wanting to play both sides. It was interesting to watch, as a Muggleborn, to see the chess pieces move on their own. Even though this was her Fourth Year in the Wizarding World, it still baffled the young wizard of what this world was capable of. Students were in and out each day, injuries from classes, but probably mostly Quidditch Marissa would have guessed. It seemed like a barbaric sport to her. She felt as if she was going to be snapped in half if she ever flew in that match. No. Marissa felt safer reading books about Zoology and about the magical creatures. That was her true aspiration in life, to take care of endangered magical creatures, or any of the sort. With classes starting tomorrow again with the weekend over, Marissa slowly begun to pack away the chess set as she looked around the room. It was rather empty for now, it seemed. But the Hufflepuff liked that as it must more tolerable in silence.

Interacting with @Marissa NorthQuinn was no stranger to the hospital wing especially since it was a well known fact that he was one of the most frequent visitors to the place. He came once week sometimes looking in a very foul mood but always came out looking much better. Why he visited every often wasn't particularly well known. A few even tried to pick in with varying levels of success. Quinn was tight lipped as he had every right to be. Today was not one of those days. Like many times before he laid up in bed sighing to himself.
"We've gott figure out away to consistently take em out in the first round. This is gettin ridiculous." He had some bandages on him and had to take a potion for some of his broken bones which seemed sturdier after each fall. Because he had come so often there was a specially made bed for him, which to his luck happened to be right next to a student he scantily saw. Compared to him she was a rather frail thing.
He'd observe playing wizard chess when the curtains were open. It would be extremely easy to mistake him for professor. Luckily for her he had just recently decided to clean shave for a change so there was only a little stubble. With a groan he sat up slowly swinging his massive legs off and resting his elbows on his thighs. "'ey. It's been a while 'asnt et Marissa?" He put up a friendly, and warm if tired grin.
Nico was off somewhere which she had every right to be but he could use a person to talk to. An from what he remembered Marissa had always been particularly nice. She was a Hufflepuff afterall. "An looks like ye're a fair player at the game so how about a challenger to give ye some fun?" He offered with a faint grin.

Interacting with @Quinn Healy
With a figure that was at least 8 feet tall and at least double your side, you tend to ask yourself what did you do to get yourself into this situation. But when this 8 foot tall figure's face was finally in sight, Marissa could finally sigh in relief. Death had not come to greet her just yet. Instead, it was Quinn Healy. Hufflepuff's Quidditch Captain and one of the Prefects, which then made Marissa internally panic. What did she do to get into trouble this time? Or maybe he was here to be a friendly giant to a fellow Hufflepuff. Either way, the small girl warily looked at Quinn as he swung around to speak to her. They had barely interacted before, only speaking at a graduation party and seeing each other in classes. But he seemed nice enough, being a Prefect after all.
"Almost a year," Marissa paused for a moment in thought, "I think." She glanced at Quinn's bandages as he spoke. Like she had said earlier, Quidditch was a barbaric sport. Though she did have thoughts of joining, possibly as a Seeker or a Chaser. Beater seemed like a higher risk of being injured. "Did you get injured by Quidditch?" As Quinn would talk, Marissa would slowly put her chess pieces back into their original spots so that they could play a match that Quinn had requested. "I have been practicing for a while. So I hope I have learnt some skills." The young Hufflepuff shrugged at the thought. Her voice was rather quiet as she still got used to speaking to others. Plus, though Quinn could not help with his large and somewhat daunting stature, it was somewhat unnerving.
With the chess pieces back in space, Marissa placed it so the two could play. She allowed it so Quinn had the white chess pieces, allowing him to start first in courtesy. "Have you ever played Wizard Chess before?" It was a dumb question. He was a wizard. Of course he would have played, or at the very least seen a game of it. As she internally cringed at the fact, Marissa waited for Quinn to begin his turn. Maybe this match would turn interesting.

Interacting with @Marissa NorthQuinn laughed and winced from the pain. He shook his head slowly, "Ye'd think with how curious ah am. Me would, but nae Marissa. Just too many other interesting things to pass me time. But...we're stuck 'ere a bit so why don't ye show me?" His accent came through again. Thick and heavy for the time being.
"Don't worry about it. Ain't the first time ah've been injured. Seems like every match I'm one of the first to get knocked. Course that's usually to cheatin those ba-uh...ye sorry. Quidditch gets me competitive." He smiled sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck staring at the game board curiously. "Ah...let me reintroduce meself!! Quinn Healy, Captain of our lovely houses quidditch team, and Prefect at ye service Marissa!" With a boisterous and slightly too loud laugh, the Half-Giant, gave a very warm smile.
"Anyways, ah'm sure ye'll kick me arse right proper." He laughed again lowering his tone, suddenly remembering that he didn't have the best inside voice. Out of habit he hunched over a beat more, trying to make himself look smaller. He honestly hoped he wasn't scaring her. He'd hate for that, he knew that he could be a little much. But maybe by doing this even if it hurt in his injured state which he showed with a slight grimace. That she'd be a little more relaxed araound him.
