Aida had managed to evade more damage this round, but everything hurt. Even with the burning subsiding, her skin cried out to her as if in a plea. Squeezing her wand, the white witch had to press on. Damion was being a faithful partner and everyone was giving it their best. Repeating to herself that this was for their sake, Aida squinted. If she was going to go down, they’d have to drag her unconscious body away. Through all the pain, Aida was still happy… somewhere deep down.

“Damn it!” Ileen shook her arm and tried to get rid of the biting flames that were still burning. Burning pain was one of the worst in her opinion. It not only felt like a thousand knives piercing into her arm but it also stuck around and faded only very slowly. She wouldn’t be able to focus hard enough like this.
She thoughtfully bit her lower lip, hesitating for one moment to waste the opportunity to attack and save herself instead.
But then she pulled herself together and forced herself to make a quick decision. There was smoke everywhere anyway and she could hardly see anything. The chances of her hitting someone when she attacked were slim. Besides, there was even a chance that she could hit Alexander with her spell. So it probably made the most sense to use the cover and put herself out.
She quickly pointed the wand at her sleeve. "Extinguo!"
She winced as the mist extinguished the fire and briefly laid relieving coolness on her skin. But that only gave momentary relief.
However, she had no time to lick her wounds. Now she had to find her way again in this darkness.

As he sent his spell towards his best friend and saw her move, he realized something.
Sometimes she was just too dang smart.
It seemed that she had perfectly anticipated the course of action of both him and Ileen. He supposed that was one great inconvenience in combating your friend. They knew you so well that they could anticipate and counter your actions before you even did them.
As such he saw how his Flipendo hurled towards Aida, only for her to put all her effort into dodging out of the way of the spell. Something which she did effectively as the spell went wide and dissipated in the distance. Then, annoyingly, just as some of the mist started to dissipate Damion once more cast Fumos. Causing the duelling platform to once more be filled with thick smoke which made observation a lot harder.
He wondered how this match must be for the spectators, he imagined it was somewhat frustrating. If he could not see anything at this close they would have a far harder time getting a good view. Regardless, it seems that he and Ileen once more had to deal with the thick smoke. Regardless, he was sure that they would once more triumph. And hopefully this time both he and Ileen could enjoy it whilst staying conscious.

The smoke that was covering the whole platform seemed to do its job: it was pretty difficult to spot and see clearly what the duellists were doing, so Lydia squinted her eyes, trying to catch anything out of the ordinary.
The Slytherin team had decided once again to focus their attention on Aida. Lifting her in the direction in which she thought her friend was, Ileen cast her Wind jinx almost in a perfect way. Unfortunately, the spell never reached Aida, as she managed to dodge out of the was just in time not to get hit. If Ileen had managed to cast her spell successfully, the same could not be said for Alexander.
The Slytherin boy had opted to cast Flipendo towards Aida, but maybe because of the smoke, or maybe because his concentration wasn't focused enough, the spell never left his wand, and never reached its intended target.
In the meantime, aside form successfully dodging the Wind Jinx, both Aida and Damion had decided to wait and see what would happen, maybe hoping for the smoke to clear out a bit before resuming with the spellcasting.

Damion couldn't see a thing due to the smoke that was surrounding them. He was glad that the spells had missed hitting any of them. He was glad that he had survived yet another round. Though he was not sure how many rounds he was going to survive. He was scared that he might not be able to see the end of this duel. But he was still keeping a positive outlook for it.

It was as if time had skipped forward without Aida. Scratching her head, she wondered what had happened. Looking over at Damion, she squinted more in confusion than for lack of sight. For now, she had to move on. Turning back to her opponents, Aida resumed a battle stance. This was no time to be distracted.

Ileen squinted her eyes and tried to spot Aida or in fact anyone. But the thick smoke was still blocking her vision. At least she had managed to extinguish the flames on her robe. This was so annoying! But she couldn’t fight the smoke again, that won’t make them win the duel. Maybe she had to trust her guts and hope for the best.
Hoping to not hit her partner Alexander she pointed in the direction where she had seen Aida before the smoke had filled the stage again. Maybe the wind jinx would clear it up a bit?
Maybe it was the annoyance that came with the smoke or her resistance to actually hurt Aida - but this time she barely managed to cast her spell. She couldn’t even see if it hit.
For a moment she waited for other attacks, but she only heard Alexander's voice. She frowned and raised her wand again. They couldn’t be knocked out already, right? Why was nothing happening?

His wand was a capricious thing at times. Most of the time it obeyed his wishes, if he wanted to do something, his wand followed his will. But whenever he let his attention slip, when there was the tiniest amount of weakness, the annoying thing would lash out. As in his haste, Alexander did not truly visualize his intent, did not truly will the magic to come out, the wand did not obey. With the magic channeled into it simply dissapearing.
Something which caused Alexander to frown at the cherry wood wand in his sweaty hand, still saying solid in his grip. Softly he muttered "Stupid Sakura. Work" He then turned back towards his two opponent, he lightly saw Aida dodging out of the way of Ileen's spell. Something which was quite unfortunate, but luckily no reprisal came from the other side of the platform as well.
Taking this all in Alexander quickly analyzed the situation and sprang it into action.

Just as the smoke had started to clear from the platform, allowing Lydia to see the duellists better, Damion had successfully cast the smokescreen spell once again, and a new layer of thick smoke covered everyone. Frowning slightly, the Hufflepuff Captain squinted her eyes as she tried to see better what else was happening.
Even if Aida didn't seem affected by the smoke, the young Ravenclaw's spell still missed Ileen who, with an incredibly swift move, easily dodged out of the way, clearly determined not to get hit. The Slytherin team also successfully cast all of their spells, and both spells hit their intended target.
That definitely wasn't good news for Aida: both Ileen's wind jinx and Alexander's Flipendo flew towards the girl, and despite her efforts to dodge them both, she was hit almost at the same time by both spells. Both spells would have been enough by themselves to knock out Aida, and with both the spells hitting her, she stood no chance.
"Stop the spells!" The moment that Lydia realised what had just happened, she shouted loud to stop the duel; this way even if they could not see her well, the duellists would definitely hear her.
After Aida was safely removed from the platform, Lydia told the duellists that they could continue with their duel. At this point it looked like Slytherin had an advantage, but Ravenclaw could still win. The duel was not decided yet.

Just as the smoke was about to fade, Damion casted this annoying spell again. The young Slytherin had anticipated that and thus had aimed as she had caught a glimpse of her pale knight twin. It was good timing because in that brief moment she had gained some vision back she noticed the spell coming her way. Without getting distracted or losing hold of her target, she stepped out of the way and let the spell pass her by without causing any harm. She was too focused to actually realize how much more helpful she was than last time. It was not the time to celebrate yet.
She shouted the incantation at the very same moment Alexander did. She saw both spells disappear into the smoke. She felt the tension on the stage as she and her partner waited for some sort of feedback. It was hard not to know what happened.
Thankfully Lydia had a grip of the whole situation. As the young Hufflepuff shouted to stop the duel Ileen knew that she and Alexander had knocked out her friend. She felt a mixture of guilt and excitement in her stomach. She felt sorry for Aida. She had fought bravely, but the odds had not been with her. That was the guilt part. The excitement part was due to the fact that they had a chance to win once again.
Fighting the rising triumph, Ileen squinted her eyes once more. It was time to bring that dark duel to an end.
