Not Again
Night of April 24th 2021
Henry would open his eyes in a fleetly moment, breathing heavily and chest arching as his head throbbed and rang though his ears. He would look around letting his eyes adjust to the darkness as he recognized where he was.Dream Sequence
There was noise, cheering all around from the spectators watching the match. Sweat drip down from the boy's forehead who stood on the stage, breathing heavily. The boy had his wand drawn at his side facing his opponent.
Only the sound the spectators could be heard as sparks few from the opponent's wand which was pointed at the boy. The boy would dodge the spell before whipping his wand at his opponent and directing his own spells at him.
Watching his opponent dodge the spell, he would cast once then another time. Sending two set of sparks to his opponent, one would hit which there would be a sudden increase volume in cheers.
The boy would watch his opponent, holding his wand by side waiting for the next spell to come flying toward him. The boy would watch his opponent send sparks directed for him and he sent a spell at his opponent unfortunately he would be hit and and propelled backwards landing on the ground on his back.
The boy would rush to his feet and send three spells at his opponent, each on hitting its target. For a while it seemed like the boy would win as he sent the sparks of a knockback jinx toward his opponent, hitting them square on. He would watch his opponent fly backward and remain on the ground, the boy would smile for a second and turn to the cheering audience. All cheering to him. He would rise his wand at the sky and smile at them all. Enjoying the moment.
Until a figure would approach the stage. Dressed in blue and sliver and rising their wand at the boy.
The boy would step backward and rise his wand about to cast a spell at the figure but it was to late they already cast their own knockback jinx at the boy sending the boy back off the stage, away from the audience, and into the darkness.
The Hospital Wing
The duel from that morning came rushing back to him at once. Astrea and him were against the hufflepuff captains, one was even a fourth year. The duel itself took a unexpected turn when he would be the only one to successfully cast then land a spell in the beginning, which he only landed it because his wind jinx unexpectedly split and went for Lydia as well.
After that Henry's luck with spells ran out, probably because he was becoming rather predictable casting the wind jinx each time but still every other time his spells would miss. The young teen tried not to thunk about that as he remembered Lydia fell unconscious first but then he did, leaving his partner to face the fourth year captain alone. Now not knowing what happen in the rest of the duel.
Henry didn't know if Astrea had won or lost but didn't change how he felt. He had been knocked unconscious, only one of his spells hit, he wasn't much help to his partner, he saw himself as a failure.
Henry would lay back in the bed of the hospital wing, sinking his head into the pillow as his mind imagine different outcomes of the duel and his anxiety came up with more ways how he was a failure.
Even through the boy hated the hospital wing, he didn't leave because he expected it was already past curfew but also because he couldn't bring himself to move.
His chest already ached from getting hit with multiple flipendos but his mind ached from imaging different outcomes of the duel, while blaming himself if they lost.
This was the second time he fell unconscious first, if they lose against then it would be his fault or at least that's what the boy thought. He would laid in the bed staring up at the darkness above, not in the mood to sit up or leave.
His chest was aching, head pounding creating a ring in his ears, breathing felt heavily, he swore he could feel his eyes become moist but didn't cry as he laid there in the quietness of the hospital wing feeling like a failure and imagining the worst outcomes for his duel.
The young teen wouldn't fall back asleep, instead he would be kept up by his anxiety and thoughts reminding him of the duel that morning and that he was a failure, doubting himself and his abilities.
It wouldn't be until the sun rose the next morning that the second year would leave the hospital wing still doubting himself and his abilities that he would find out Astrea won her duel because Amadea forfeit for a unknown reason from his friends or a unknown student that was watching the duels. The thought didn't comfort Henry but only increased his anxiety and doubt in himself and abilities.
