Bounce! Bounce!
"Woosh!" She gave slight jump as she tossed the ball over an extended branch of a tree. There were no basketball hoops at Hogwarts. But Paige was glad she brought a basketball from home. She went to retrieve her ball and dribble it. She enjoyed basketball.

Today she was wearing a white t-shirt, red leggings, and Nike air force 1 sneakers which her mom sent her. She was just seeing his good these shoes would be to walk around in and is finding it is going quite well. Her hair was tied back into a curly pony tail. She held the ball and looked around for a moment before tossing it again and grabbing it. She held the ball and walked over to a bench and sat down. Right in the shade, perfect. She pulled out a jacket from her bag and put it on before taking a swing from her water bottle. She sat and decided to continue one of her favorite things- people watching. She kept her ears perked as she watched kids talk to each other. " well that girl said a joke judging his reaction- him over there clearly is annoyed with the boy talking to him. Drama. Yeesh."

Soon enough, another curious person appeared, he was wearing an old gray hoodie, black jeans with ripped knees and a set of black shoes that were hard to identify as any specific brand. The boy wasn't interacting with anybody, in fact, he seemed to be avoiding them, as he sat on one of the benches that were right under the sunlight. It seemed like a really uncomfortable place to sit, specially in a day like this.

He would simply sit there, reading a book about plants, he was definitely not searching for company, yet, he seemed very lonely, and it could seem quite strange for a boy his age to preffer sitting down and do nearly nothing instead of playing or doing something interesting. The boy ran his fingers through his hair, as he gave a quick look at the people nearby, he didn't seem amused, or nearly interested in what they were doing, he was just getting ready to move in case someone would try to aproach him, he thought this as he chewed his nails in a nervous way.

Even though this was his plan, he didn't seem to be intetionally rude or bad, at first glance, he looked more like a shy kid, and wouldn't you know it, he was.

''Poaceae- huh- the more you know-''

Paige continued her looking, then her eyes fell on a boy. With ripped Jean's and a hoodie. Simple outfit. Paige liked it. But... he wasn't talking to anyone. He seemed to be avoiding people. "Huh. Weeiirrrdd." Shy guy. He sat down right in the sun and started to read. What? Who reads on a nice day like this? Surely only a Ravenclaw. She got up as he started to chew his nails. She grabbed her bag and walked over to him. Wait, he was familiar. So, not a Ravenclaw then. He must be a Huffelpuff.

She waved, with a big grin. "Hi! Hey- I'm Paige Grant. Hufflepuff. Nice to meet ya. Even though I technically haven't officially met you since I don't know your name. " She had the basketball under her arm.
"What are you reading? Plants? Sweet. Do ya know how to play basketball?" She held up the ball. She could see him hesitant- one who is shy.

She decided to not come off as too outgoing which is probably too late. She tucked the ball back under her arm for now just in case. She hoped they could be friends, she could tell she liked this guy.

His eyes darted to the girl walking towards him, was she going to talk to him? Maybe she was simply going to move to a different place. His thoughts got interrupted as she greeted him.

At first he was unsure on what to answer, why was she so comfortable saying ''hi'' to a random stranger? Whatever it was, Aldor had to answer, he could be shy, but manners always come first, right?

''Oh- um, I am Aldor Humbleglow, I am a Hufflepuff too-''

Aldor's voice was quiet, it was quite hard to hear him if you weren't used to talking with somenone like him. He would look at the stranger from head to toe, he was almost convinced he's seen Paige before. Of course, Aldor never remembers anything related to other people, he is always moving quickly, doing his best not to stay where there's a large amount of people.

He'd brush his hair away from his eyes, trying to remain focused on the conversation, but there was something that he noticed on the girl almost instantly, she talks really fast. Somehow, instead of bothering Aldor, he found it funny, which made him smile for a few seconds as she was tripping over her own words while asking about the book he was reading.

''I am not good at sports- I know the basics and other things, not exactly in practice though- I am really not that agile, well you'd probably easily assume that about the only psycho who sits down to read on a sunny day-''

He'd let out a quiet chuckle, as he did his best to keep eye contact, it was pretty obvious that he was having a hard time going with the flow of the conversation.

Paige hadn't yet noticed how fast she was talking. She recognized this boy, but she didn't know from where until he said he was a Hufflepuff, too. Paige snapped. "Ohhh... I think I've seen you in the common room. " Paige looked this boy up and down. He definitely was a quiet one, but Paige listened. She nodded. "Oh well, not everyone is good at sports, anyway. Of course, when it comes to basketball, no one is better than me." She gave a slight laugh to let the boy know she was joking. Certainly, there were many people who were better than Paige.

" Psycho is one word for it... but I don't see why anyone would sit to read on any day. Doesn't it give you headaches? It does for me, anyway." She once again tossed up her basketball and caught it. "so I spend my time playing sports and being outside. It's a lot better in my opinion.A lot better than trying to make sense of the dancing letters on the paper. And getting headaches. It was a lot better. Aldor didn't seem totally annoyed with Paige yet, and there was a plus. SHe decided she would stick around.

@Aldor Humbleglow That wait was unforgivable~ :cry2:

Aldor would pause for a few seconds, trying to think of an answer.

It was very clear that the Hufflepuff was starting to feel comfortable with Paige, he knew that she probably just had the best of intentions while trying to talk to the irish boy, but in her attempt, she made Aldor really confused and almost made him forget what he was originally going to say, but eventually he reacted, shaking his head slightly as he replied with the same quiet voice as before.

''Well, you got a point there, I suppose reading could be a bit boring at times. I just have a hard time doing sports since, if you haven't noticed, I am- really small, I'm pretty sure if I tried any sport I would be the first person to get injured.''

He gave her an honest answer, trying not to sound rude or like he was trying to force a mindset onto someone, but in reality, as much as he wanted to agree that books weren't as fun as sports, he couldn't. Books were truly all he had, before Hogwarts, books were the one thing that kept him happy and emotionally stable.

The boy gave her a shy smile, trying to understand the reasons behind why she chose to specificaly talk to him and not any other person in the courtyard, they seem like the complete opposite, energetic and happy, or shy and awkward, he wasn't completely sure on how this was going to work, but he at least hoped that this wouldn't be the last time he talks with Paige.

@Paige Grant Don't worry about the wait, I had to time to get updated with a lot of threads while you were gone, don't feel worried if you need to take your time to answe, it's understandable!

Paige was only starting to realize how fast she was talking, and she was even giving this boy a chance to speak. Woops. She got excited. She finally shut up to let the boy speak, which he did.

She raised her eyebrows, surprised. "Have you seen me? I'm pretty small, too. Size shouldn't matter." She said. Then she added, "But yeah, injuries are unfortunately a part of sports." She shrugged. She didn't want to argue with him about which was better, even though it was clearly sports, she moved on.

She looked at the book he had, already giving up on reading the title. She decided to ask him about what he likes to read about. That was a reasonable conversation, right? Yeah. She'll try that. Aldor seemed pretty chill, and Paige was always up to new friends."So, Aldor, since you like books so much, what do you like to read about? What topics do you like? " She asked, finally trying to get to know more about him. She had been talking so much she suddenly felt bad.

While waiting on his answer Paige looked around, feeling the heat beating down.

He took a few seconds to answer, after all, he read so much that eventually, he really couldn't pick a favorite.

''I honestly read anything but- mistery and horror are probably what I enjoy to read the most.''

The boy stopped, as he worried that he might be making her bored, after all she seemed to be much more into sports and physical activities than old dusty books, and to Aldor that was alright with that, he understood why some people couldn't enjoy books as much, and to him, it was fairly interesting to learn more about others, since being good at talking wasn't exactly his strongest atribute.

''But uh- talking about reading, what would your favorite class be?''

Once again, Aldor seemed to be giving Paige the freedom to talk, almost as if he was telling her that it was alright if she spoke the most in this conversation, most of the time, he didn't really speak through whatever was happening, it was a very small group of people which actually heard Aldor speaking, more than the others at least.

He looked at Paige with a nervous smile, trying to reassure her, he wasn't sure if he had said anything wrong or if he'd done something that made her feel uncomfortable, for now, he just hoped that he could fix whatever he messed up this time.

Alright, there was some... potential. Yeah. First off, he was cool beans. Second, he was chill, third, he was super nice... was there a fourth? We'll get back to that. Yeah, it seems like she's working on a project. Who knows, maybe she was.Maybe she was making this her project. What exactly?

Becoming friends with Aldor.

When it's described like that it sounds forced. Like she was going to be pushy. Well, duh, of course not. Paige was a total pro. She would take this slowly. She wouldn't get to excited... She would be chill.

No...

She would not
Get
Over
Excite-
"YOU LIKE HORROR?" She squealed. Well. Maybe she doesn't got this. "NoWaySoDoIHowCoolIsThatIsn'tThatSoCool?! " She said, speaking fast.

So much for not getting over excited.

Big Fail. Huge. She looked at Aldor's face and winced. Whoops.

" Yeah... uh.. sorry bout that.." What? She was being stupid. Probably. She didn't really check around for the proper definition of stupid, and who knows, maybe Aldor has seen stupider.

It was Hogwarts after all.

"Well. I do like Herbology." She replied, looking out the corner of her eye, thinking. "I get to constantly be with Nature. And I can care for plants. So," She shrugged. "Win-Win."

She noticed how Am for didn't seem to be upset with her talking much. "So, what about you?" in most conversations, people always turn the question back around. If she tried to act normal, maybe she won't get over excited again. Maybe.

Just... Maybe.

Aldor listened to her silently, taking a few seconds to answer her first question, this felt oddly familiar, like the first time that his sister sent him a letter and bassically wrote over the envelope with the amount of things she was triyng to tell Aldor, he wasn't bothered, insteadm he looked happy to answer what she was asking, after all, he was already adapting at the speed that she talked.

Of course, he love horror, but he wasn't completely sure if he did as much as Paige did, based on her reaction at least.

''Y-yeah, I like horror, a lot''

The boy would let out a quiet chuckle. His face was a bit red, probably because he had to take a few seconds to think about what Paige did, even though Aldor was good at analizing situations, he wasn't an expert on fast talking, he hoped that he wasn't bothering her with the amount of time he took to answer everything that she said.

Finally, Aldor got around to answer what Paige asked about his favorite class.

''Defence Against the Dark Arts is interesting, but Astronomy and Herbology always keep me entertained, except when it comes to talking about Mandrakes, I dislike them greatly-''

It was strange that he mentioned Astronomy, most students did not enjoy this class because of the proffesor that taught them about the stars, Leonardo Chiadovini, Aldor had interacted with him a few times, in all of them, he was pretty much frozen in fear, but he had the weird way of being, he enjoys being scared, and being scared helped him to be focused in what Chiadovini is teaching, but this was merely his own way of thinking, most students would most likely run away as fast as possible before they do something that makes the Astronomy proffesor want them out of his classroom.

In the end, Aldor was still hoping that Paige was comfortable with how this conversation was going, he didn't want to seem anoying, or fearful, like he was putting obstacles to be able to run away from the conversation. He was doing the contrary, he was enjoying this conversation, but he wasn't completely sure that Paige was.
